I never meant to make this topic 2 pages long, on the contrary, but only that is what it made become 2 pages, blame some stalker-wannabees.

I bet you would.
and let the rest giving the orders and escape...
you really are retarded
sorry, I had no idea

But this wasn't like My Lai, where Calley was ordered to wipe out a village, this is the actions of a lone soldier operating on his own. His CO needs to be held accountable for this Marine's actions, but it's not like puppy-killing is some primary military objective. One soldier thought it would be funny to post a video of himself throwing a puppy off a cliff. As jacked up as this is...it's just a very sick joke. That's all it is, a joke. It's one sick bastard showing himself to the world for what he really is.

It's sad that we have allowed our young men and women to be put into situations where this kind of stuff is not only possible, but becomes a humorous respite from the violence and tedium of the endless occupation of a hostile country.

You know just to add to this, this whole topic has been one of the only issues alex jones has covered that my father totally agrees with. My father looked at me and spoke to me with such seriousness about the repercussions of war and how they echoe for eternity. A man who has been to war and on a level as my father was will totally understand what he is talking about. I myself served in the military beginning in 02, never went to iraq but I tell you no one knows shit about shit till they have been their. To listen to individuals who understand the mechanics and effects of war through history and individuals who have been there is what we need to be doing. Our soldiers are losing it, going on 3rd, 4th, and 5th tours, can we stop to think that we WILL be effected by all of this shit.

I shudder to think what the crime rate is going to do after the majority of those who have been going over there
the last few years are home and out of the military. Not because they are bad people, but because of the situations
they've been in  and being conditioned to kill in the face of any agression.  Spousal abuse is going to
be on the rise...and many other type crimes like that I would imagine.  Heck, the rates may already be going up.

Even if they come back, and don't cause any major illegal damage, just think of what it will do to our community! These folks come back and can't hold down a job, which makes them despondent and unable to contribute to the greater good. It's a losing battle either way.

Yeah, I'm not so sure I want all our troops to come back home either. We can't leave them there, but if they all come back as messed up as this Mortari kid is what the hell is going to happen? Our government isn't exactly doing much to preserve our veterans' mental and spiritual health or anything...

System Failure

What separates this puppy from the 6 civilians dead in Somalia is about 35.000 feet. If that soldier would've thrown a little kid off that cliff and it was released then you would have a far greater outcry for his head. If anything this was released to desensitize people (like you v). You have sympathy for the dead, only if they are human. That line will blur soon enough to where you will only have sympathy for certain humans, maybe it already has.

And to the point of you acting as if we are not upset enough about the dead civilians of this war and all the other atrocities committed by our government or other governments then you need to spend more time on this forum reading. If you think this is a non issue that's fine, don't read it or take part in it, but what I see is an ego-centrist trying to condemn other people for not being as "smart/dedicated" as himself.

Try not to paint with too broad of a brush.  I don't think EVERY soldier that comes back is going to be so
messed up.  But I do think there's going to be some problems. I went the Air Force route back in '87
because I didn't want to be directly involved in some of the stuff that these guys have ended up doing.
I did time in GW I but I was 1000 miles from the bomb dropping. My tour missed that part also.

But anyway, what I was going to say is- having just retired in Aug 07, I'm still waiting to get in to
see the docs at VA for some disability claims and to get into the system. This is taking way longer than
it was supposed to.  When I went on terminal leave in June they said that the guys returning from Iraq
were going to be put ahead- which I fully support... but this is taking longer than it was supposed to.

Ok, sorry, I got off the puppy killing.

You should be banned. How dare you discuss other things than dead puppies, which are clearly the most important issue of this day and age!  Roll Eyes

Precisely.

Don't be. Many here already know this. The problems haunting the Vietnam veterans have not been "fixed". We throw more to the grinder and leave them to flounder when they get home.

Now there are some in the US who have the same uncaring attitude towards the new returns as they have for this dog and a million Iraqis. Stark truth trumps propaganda anyday.

This shows that on some level society thinks of human life as that of less then an animal. On the other hand it shows a cognitive dissonance that killing a puppy (like that) is no big deal. What was the point? Why is shuch random violence ardently defended?

I feel pity for those who defend the actions of this Marine, they are narrow minded and uneducated.  In the begining of the war dogs were shot on a regular basis to guard against disease.  The problem I have with this is these Marines were doing this for entertainment!  Even filming it to watch over and over again and show to their friends.  This is sick and demented, a callous disregard for life.
