You didn't state your views...
First let me say those are very strong incentives you suggest and I think that might be the best answer I've seen - it tells me at least you are honest about the problem and that you actually understand that it exists. I also know you are intelligent enough to know deep down that those might not really solve the problem in the long run. I've thought about those type of things and others but it always comes back to whos in charge to make those changes. Who is it that will decide for mankind that we should have sterilization in masses? Will everyone go along with it? If not what do we do about those that will not agree to do so? And in the mean time our resources dwindle and are polluted beyond recovery. IMO, it's just not reasonable to think that the powers that be will just come right out and tell you "guys we need to quit reproducing" - They will do it as they are now but killing you inch by inch so you / we take it as a fact of life. Oh .. so and so got cancer how sad. Well most of us here know the exact reason WHY we are getting cancer and other maladies that kill us and they don't want that exposed. I mean a majority people will accept the fact we don't live forever and that flu, drugs and foods can kill you over time and don't seem to mind it do they? It's the best sell job I've ever seen. So in the NWO's opinion why change anything? It's working perfectly - in fact it's working so well lets make sure that if they ever find out we have extreme laws to protect us while we still have their faith. And to me that is the key issue. while they still have our faith. Like in corporate management when a company purchases or takes over another company .. 99% of the time all of the previous management is fired. This is what would have to happen to have what we need for true peace and security. Not ONLY in this country but all other nations as well or their would be NO world unity - a complete cleansing of government officials and legislation. Does that sound possible to you? Even if your master wasn't going to be the NWO - could you have a global community? Is it something that people really want to be a part of? I don't think so. So by now I think you know my answer but I'll save it for a while for sake of discussion.

Overpopulation is a myth. Population density is a problem in some areas, but even that can be addressed. Look at how Japan and Korea deal with it, giant skyscraper apartments everywhere.
90% of us live in cities...just decades it was 10%...all we need to do is repopulate the rural areas.
This will also solve food shortage issues if more people returning to managing their own crops.
As for water, it can be purified. Water rights need to remain in the hands of free people, not corporations or even the government.
Most of the scarcity problems in the world, such as economic and resource scarcity, are due to monopolies and government interference with the small guys.
As populations urbanize and industrialize, population naturally goes down, so if we do nothing, and society advances, this "problem" will disappear.
No sir - it's not a myth. You can't make more then $1 from a 100 pennies. The amount of drinkable water is shrinking and it's already at less then 1% -- at the same time the population is expanding at exponential rates. There are already food wars going on in other countries and if the financial system continues to reap it's unjust dues on the world food will also be beyond affordable. Being a Christian I would think you'd remember that the Bible ALSO says in the last days a full days wages for a loaf of bread would happen. That is happening in other countries now. Do a search for "blue gold" and watch that movie. Haarp isn't just about warfare.

FemaCamper has it right. I grew up in SoCal. Bought all the fretting about Population Problems. Last decade I took up truck driving. America is a big place!!! Without a lot of people in it.Bambi is an Ill um nasti psyop movie. LaRouche people did a piece on this a while back. Percentage of smart people is the real problem. More people = more smart people. Threat to the inbred minority elite and they know it. Save the humans make a vaccine flouride free baby today!! P.S. Don't cut the wanker if it's a boy. Causes brain damage. When you're circumcising your child , you are actually also lobotomizing part of the child's brain, because it has been proven that the corresponding nerve cells in the brain are left idle after cutting off the foreskin, also surrounding neurons suffer from the lack of natural stimulation, which in turn deadens even more of that region of the brain. The damage goes much further than the locally lost skin, think about that. How the consequences goes far beyond the scope of what is seen.

Changing the System.
When we are really overpopulated, 50 billion or so (many, many decades in the future), space colonization becomes a necessity, and we better start a lot earlier than that or we end up with many deaths because of untested equipment, etc. Terraforming is unnecessary, you can live under domes with artificial soil farming (hydroponics), much like you have in some labs.
Devils advocate for a minute --- What if it's far easier and cheaper just to kill people off (regulate population) before the planet is destroyed then plan and build space colonization? Shouldn't we start that now using the same thinking process? IMO that is what we are seeing now.

We will end up having a global community. Sooner or later, forced or voluntary, by miracle or by evolution, we'll get there or there will be some event that will "turn back the wheel of progress". We'll get there whether the people now like it or not, just look a the younger generation; if Englishmen were told they are to go to war against Germans, they'd tell their government to shove that propaganda where the Sun definitelly does not shine. So that's that. I don't think much more can be said. Either the society works for humans, and then it is reasonably just and progresses, or it works for the rich and then it just exists to stabilise itself and to allow the rich to continue their stranglehold, and in such a model, forced depopulation is justifyiable. Forced depopulation = mass murder. After all, humans are just one of the "economic factors," right? So why not "cull the herd?" A saner society will consume resources in a less useless manner. Would that mean you'd have to "cut the crap?" Oh yes. Would that mean you'd have to cut having babies or essentials? No, not if you cut the crap first. You won't have a sane society until you free humans from being "economic factors;" the hyper consumerism is entirelly justifiable when we live in a doublethink blackwhite society of citizens who are not quite free, not quite citizens and not quite equal; it's a mechanism to compensate, nothing more, nothing less; change that and you'll see that humans, though not perfect, will suddenly experience a revival in all areas of their lives, even Christianity (for Charrington). Devils advocate for a minute ---
What if it's far easier and cheaper just to kill people off (regulate population) before the planet is destroyed then plan and build space colonization? Shouldn't we start that now using the same thinking process? IMO that is what we are seeing now. It is always easier to destroy something than to build something. It is much more easy to take life than to give it. In absolute terms, a sane society would not have unemployment since it would not have workers. It would have citizens who could opt to fill the need of work as they would see fit and according to their abilities and desire. Therefore, a sane society would grow stronger with every citizen born, therefore it would be rational not to kill anyone and look forward for every baby, even if you'd see it from the productivity angle. But we don't live in a sane society, we live in a society designed (though who did it is up to debate) to create a downward spiral leading to all the people being addicts and schytzophrenics. Under these conditions, it is certainly better to murder a few "useless eaters" now and then just to clean the breathing space...... if you are a psychopatic pseudotechnocratic nobleman. Just look into the books of Maitreya or armageddonconpiracy to see "technocracy done right." This what we see here is not technocracy, which is meritocratic and classless, this is the return before all the revolutions, the return to the hereditary principle and the bondage of man. Yesterday we had serfs working the fields, now they work the factories. Both have about the same measure of "say" as to how the place that gives them their bread works.

No it's far easier, kinder, more creative, more constructive, more caring, more loving and more intelligent to allow and strongly encourage conscientious, loving gay peopleto get, be and remain MARRIED! (and of course, doing everything possible to make, encourage and allow heterosexual, breeding ones to stay that way) Like the song says: "only stupid people are breeding"- population control is about responsible, kind, unselfish and intelligent GOOD PARENTING!

What Femacamper alludes to would be some of the surface sympthoms of a "sane society" vs. what we have now. But it only works for some, not everyone can be a self sufficient farmer, the change must be thorough, from the basic goals, through philosophy, economics, to politics. And the basic principle? FREEDOM. Then we won't have to go Malthusian. Otherwise Charrington is very much right since the System won't even be adaptative enough, even if it wasn't rigged; it does not care about people but about profit, guess what will be the long term goals even in a crisis? To keep the people alive or to keep the status quo and business as usual? Who cares whether or not water purifiers are possible when there will be no qualified interest (e.g. profit margin) to build them en masse? "Let the useless feeders die, they are parasites anyways..."

There is more than enough growable food on this planet to support 10's of billions of people. The problem is hoarding and monopolies. The problem is price fixing. The problem is THE NEW WORLD ORDER.

No it's far easier kinder more loving and more intelligent to allow conscientious, loving gay people to get married True. And it is even quite Christian, if you look at it, because national governments should steer clear of any and all religion beyond what the sovereign, e.g. the People want. That is if the majority is fund. Christian, fine, no gay marriage, but it is not. Plus there is this issue of minority rights too. Anyways, is it just me or do you too get the shivers when a state is supposed to be the "protector of holiness?"

Agreed here. And the insane greed system that supports it. While I've written above that the govt should be secular, and not try to be a moral authority, sometimes it is just about common sense vs. insanity. And to institutionalise greed and to make it a "virtue" is pure 100% madness that will get you to oblivion.

I am a little off topic sometimes but.... I read about the Elite having sea voyages to our new plastic continents we are building with discarded plastic from Walmart. We give them all the moral justification needed when we shit all over the planet like that. I go to the AA meetings. Try to get those morons to do anything other than use styrofoam cups! Try to tell a member of "The Greatest Generation" that bankrupting the country to a foreign bank thru our continued use of Federal Reserve Notes is maybe a bad idea. I don't think the elites need to go too far to get moral justification for their eugenics programs. Working as a foot soldier for END THE FED and 9/11 truth has almost caused me to switch sides with the amount of pathologically stupid people I talk to. I have learned to remove myself quickly from their presence because it really causes me to be question the wisdom of trying to help them. Estienne De La Boetie: Discourse on Voluntary Servitude (1548) This gentleman ran into the same frustrations and, from what I understand, went back to serving the elites of France shortly before his death at a young age. I hope and that is sometimes a liability.

The greatest and only sacrament is Charity, ignoring and disdaining the stupidity of the brothers and sisters who are your neighbors is no excuse for not loving them all, nor to stop sharing.. The most important thing, that I find hardest, is to avoid preaching answers to them and concentrate, rather, on asking them the right questions... The one thing after all that we all have in common, is being utterly terrified, disgusted and horrified with other peoples supposed "solutions".

The greatest and only sacrament is Charity.
The Way of Love 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, [1] but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; [2] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. You speak truth Agent Blue Screen. That is all we can do. Thanks

Hey, the culling of the human race is already underway.. just look at the biggest killers in the world.. Heart Disease (related to scurvy, too little saturated fat, and not enough vitamin E), stroke (v similar to causes for heart disease), Cancer (fermentation in cells) and biatrogenocide (death by doctor).
Theyre pumping us full of chemicals, trying to ban food source vitamins and minerals, and then when we go to the doctor cus all this makes us sick, they prescribe us poison..
We will run out of space eventually, there are places on the planet that are uninhabitable. There are places we have taken to living in that prove themselves time and time again are not supposed to be inhabited, but us humans are so arrogant we insist on living there anyway.. And we also need to preserve things like trees and green areas otherwise the symbiosis of respiration & photosynthesis would be affected. The same way we need to be careful about forcing animals into extinction, as their removal from the food chain could have detrimental effects down the chain..
As far as the terraforming and living on another planet goes, do you know what one of the things inhibiting us from getting to another planet actually is? Vitamin C Its water soluble, and it doesnt store well.(We dont store it in our bodies at all, nor can we manufacture it like most animals.. The lack of vitamin C is one of the crucial factors affecting space travel, although certainly not the only one..
Hydroponic veggies are evil, as the minerals and some vitamins are dependent on the soil the vegetable is taken from. Hydroponic vegetables as we have them now are filled with synthetic chemicals masquerading as vitamins, that are of no benefit to the human body whatsoever.. So this is not viable.
Sadly I dont have answers on what we should do, I am just one person and this would take a lot of angles and opinions to figure out.. I do wish however that every person having children would be more responsible. In my country there is a culture of getting pregnant to get a free house off the council, this is really wrong.. As is parents who abuse their children. Too many kids suffer at the hands of the morons who brought them into the world, if there was a way of preserving our species, it would be by ensuring that everyone got the best start in life that they could.

Have you seen the Fed?
You missunderstand me -- another words .. there is only so much water and earth - there' just not making it anymore -- so if water volume were to stay the same and population grows as it does then you have a serious issue. In other words .. you can't make more then you have - Only because the elites are intentionally poisoning it. We have rainwater collectors, and water generation and purification technology, like Ecolo Blue and saltwater purifiers.
So we all buy ecoloblues? are you serious? 14 - 20 million people in this country alone are living in poverty, not to mention it runs off electricity. You really honestly believe you can get the government to pay for that? desalination plants are extraordinarily expensive and costly -- even then you still have to move that water to everyone on the planet - read about it... Name one country on the planet where population is growing exponentially on a yearly basis.
All countries on the planet grow exponentially yearly. The question you have to ask is by what factor. Birth rate - Death rate = rate of natural increase. etc.. dN = rN dt ? But this is my point you don't know what you are talking about. Those videos I posted above are something you really - really -- need to watch to understand exponentiation. It will give you a whole new understanding of exponential equations and how that exposes NWO lies. Extremely interesting and educational... While the elites are hoarding grain and rice that's rotting in the silos, and polluting our food system with GMOs, so that farmers can't afford to live anymore. This could be solved by outlawing GMOs.
Grow your own. Join a co-op. Go to a farmer's market. Live in the countryside. Be a farmer.
This is what I read: "A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine." - Revelation 6:6
I've heard your version before too, and though I don't disagree on the surface, provide a reference.
Gimme the twitter version.
There not hording anything by seed and food levels by some experts are dangerously low. Even worse they think that distribution becomes more costly daily. Let me know when you are able to figure out a way to successfully clean house politically speaking. You are talking about monstrous tasks with people who are in power that will squash you like a bug if you try to dispose them. When Alex says it's a tyranny - he's understating the problem and he knows it. The World Food Council reported in mid-1987 that 512 million humans were starving and that 40,000 children die of hunger-related causes every day. That's 14 million children alone. It's far worse today. There is some validity in doing carbon math. It takes tractors to plow, sow and harvest the crops, that takes gas and oil. Just building the tractor takes more oil then the tractor will ever use in it's lifetime. Then there is distribution and shipping. There's the cost of water and chemicals (toxic and non toxic) to protect crops. Do a search on global food shortages ...
All four cherubs are united in expressing a need to watch food supplies carefully—just as the people had to “eat bread by weight and in anxious care” prior to Jerusalem’s destruction in 607 B.C.E. (Ezekiel 4:16) In John’s time, a quart of wheat was reckoned to be the daily ration for a soldier. How much would such a ration cost? One denarius—a whole day’s wage. (Matthew 20:2) What if a man had a family? Well, he could buy three quarts of unpolished barley instead. Even that would feed only a small family. And barley was not viewed as a quality food such as wheat. There really isn't a twitter solution for anything we've talked about here I believe that kind of attitude/mentality is what we help the NWO win the battle against you. Education and to educate those that do not understand is key, no matter what you believe as a Christian or not.

No it's far easier, kinder, more creative, more constructive, more caring, more loving and more intelligent to allow and strongly encourage conscientious, loving gay peopleto get, be and remain MARRIED! (and of course, doing everything possible to make, encourage and allow heterosexual, breeding ones to stay that way)
Like the song says: "only stupid people are breeding"- population control is about responsible, kind, unselfish and intelligent GOOD PARENTING!
And how does that solve population growth? I mean I agree some but ...

The eugenisists/banksters are causing the food wars. The earth can sustain much more than there is inhabiting the earth. Drinkable water is shrinking? Where is it going, outerspace? Another myth perpetrated by the NWO. It is no more real than mickey mouse is real.
Wrong -- it's being used and polluted. That's where it's going - same amount of water more people using it, less usable water because it's being polluted -- no friend it's not a myth, and if you take the time to look it up you'll see exactly what I'm telling you. Do you really believe there is a mythical whole in the ground that just pumps out water and you can adjust that amount as needed? And if you look up what qualified scientists say about population I think you'll be surprised how much life earth can sustain. inform yourselves friends.

There is NOTHING to solve! The current world population can fit comfortably inside the State of Texas with a house and yard, grow their own gardens and whatnot! There is no shortage of food or water.

Absolutely Route. So many people buy the bill of goods presented to them in the form of illusion. It sort of like the hype that has gone on in the Gulf of Mexico--it's all about control!

I realise you may have been making a joke, but it does bring up something Id like to address.. At the moment re the food and water shortage you are correct, but when you bear in mind that we are living longer, and our populations grow each year the amount we can sustain declines.. The more of us there is, the more land we need to live on. The more land we live on, the less land there is to grow crops. The less land there is to grow crops, the more overfarming of the soil happens, and the mineral content of the soil & therefore our food declines. This in turn would lead to more health problems, rendering our morbidity rate even higher - so not only would we have more people, we would have more sick people.. At the moment our governments allow the starving of nations. The so called "developed" world discards enough food to rectify many of these problems - today. But add a few billion more and it will be a different story.. There is barely any clean water left on the planet. The rest is polluted like Charrington quite rightly pointed out - its drinkable, but poisoned with BPA, flouride, and other industrial waste, not to mention human and animal waste.. So its not really water anymore.. Making salt water drinkable is, again as Charrington pointed out, extremely costly, which is why in Cyprus they have no water after 6pm and until 6am, their country has been in drought for a very long time. They have desallination plants, but it is not enough to provide the people with water (it is enough to provide the stupid army bases with water for their football pitches though, GGRRRRR!!) You should see their resevoirs, its truly scary.. Expand their population and what would happen? Thats just one countries example.. There are other issues with other parts of the world. You cant grow much edible stuff in a desert, and you cant live there.. So really, a large chunk of the planet is uninhabitable, the amount of space we have is deceptive..

a well? caterpillars transform into butterflies. Animals go "feral" when they escape domestication. When grasshopper populations get crowded, they transform into locust. Maybe the human race will metamorphosis once the population gets high enough. Maybe the illuminati know that, and want to stop it from happening.

I remember Thomas Sowell said that in 1984. Texas: Square mile = 5280 x 5280 square feet = 27,878,400 square feet. So 268,581 square miles = 7,487,608,550,400. Lets say to make it easy 7.5 x 10^12. Divided that by 7 x 10^9 is over 1000 square feet per person. So if we made one giant one-story compound built over Texas, land, water, and all, we would each get a 1,000 square foot unit. We'd probably use all the lumber in America but hey... This of course proves there is no overpopulation problem.... It's all a dream go back to sleep.

urbanbarnsfoods.com/ -These guys have a very innovative solution for growing organic non gmo low water veges and melons and such. I don't think there is any single panacea for every ill on the planet other than: The corporations must show profit or they become a non profit which even that is a legal fiction as the officers of non profits sometimes receive greater compensation than the for profits. Corporations are not people and as such don't really have people morals. History has shown that sometime corporations become more profitable by being ruthless and without morales. Corporations and corporate thinking skills are much different than people thinking skills. History has shown that corporations often times will kill people just to fill their pockets with the gold from our teeth and other booty. This is probably why corporations were not legal in the first half of this countries history. When a person says there are way to many of you on the planet, we need to kill some, Sane people defend themselves most often, but, not always. When the corporations make the same noises we are kind of behaving differently. Why

Fixed! You should read Geolibertarian's posts about the overpopulation myth. New Eugenics and the Rise of the Global Scientific Dictatorshiphttp://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=117190.0How do we eliminate the paradox of poverty & privation amid plenty & abundance?http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=160459.0While it is certainly true that a primary purpose of Obama’s health care “rationing” scheme is — as Stephen Lendman correctly puts it — to “enrich insurers, drug companies and large hospital chains,” another primary purpose is to silently advance the population reduction agenda of the criminal, parasitic, sociopathic oligarchs pulling Obama’s strings: -------------------------------------- http://www.prisonplanet.com/the-population-reduction-agenda-for-dummies.htmlThe Population Reduction Agenda For Dummies The elite agenda for global population control is not a “conspiracy theory,” it is on the record and documented Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet.com Friday, June 26, 2009 There are still large numbers of people amongst the general public, in academia, and especially those who work for the corporate media, who are still in denial about the on-the-record stated agenda for global population reduction, as well as the consequences of this program that we already see unfolding. We have compiled a compendium of evidence to prove that the elite have been obsessed with eugenics and its modern day incarnation, population control, for well over 100 years and that goal of global population reduction is still in full force to this day. The World’s Elite Are Discussing Population Reduction As was reported only last month by the London Times, a “secret billionaire club” meeting in early May which took place in New York and was attended by David Rockefeller, Ted Turner, Bill Gates and others was focused around “how their wealth could be used to slow the growth of the world’s population”. We questioned establishment media spin which portrayed the attendees as kind-hearted and concerned philanthropists by pointing out that Ted Turner has publicly advocated shocking population reduction programs that would cull the human population by a staggering 95%. He has also called for a Communist-style one child policy to be mandated by governments in the west. In China, the one child policy is enforced by means of taxes on each subsequent child, allied to an intimidation program which includes secret police and “family planning” authorities kidnapping pregnant women from their homes and performing forced abortions. Of course, Turner completely fails to follow his own rules on how everyone else should live their lives, having five children and owning no less than 2 million acres of land. In the third world, Turner has contributed literally billions to population reduction, namely through United Nations programs, leading the way for the likes of Bill & Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet (Gates’ father has long been a leading board member of Planned Parenthood and a top eugenicist). The notion that these elitists merely want to slow population growth in order to improve health is a complete misnomer. Slowing the growth of the world’s population while also improving its health are two irreconcilable concepts to the elite. Stabilizing world population is a natural byproduct of higher living standards, as has been proven by the stabilization of the white population in the west. Elitists like David Rockefeller have no interest in “slowing the growth of world population” by natural methods, their agenda is firmly rooted in the pseudo-science of eugenics, which is all about “culling” the surplus population via draconian methods. David Rockefeller’s legacy is not derived from a well-meaning “philanthropic” urge to improve health in third world countries, it is born out of a Malthusian drive to eliminate the poor and those deemed racially inferior, using the justification of social Darwinism. As is documented in Alex Jones’ seminal film Endgame, Rockefeller’s father, John D. Rockefeller, exported eugenics to Germany from its origins in Britain by bankrolling the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute which later would form a central pillar in the Third Reich’s ideology of the Nazi super race. After the fall of the Nazis, top German eugenicists were protected by the allies as the victorious parties fought over who would enjoy their “expertise” in the post-war world. [ Continued...] -------------------------------------- That’s what the American people must come to understand before it is too late: the fact that “rationed health care” is a euphemism for eugenics. Is that not the obvious reason why Obama is opposed to the “single-payer” alternative -- the fact that, under the single-payer system, the delivery of health care would still be private and patients would still be free to choose their own doctor, and the fact that this would consequently make implementing the criminal eugenics agenda far more difficult than would be the case under a Soviet-style system? And is that not also the obvious reason why Obama — and establishment politicians in general — are adamantly opposed to relegalizing alternative medicine?

Whenever you hear one of these smug, self-righteous limousine liberals suggest or imply that "overpopulation" is the primary cause of world poverty and world hunger -- and that this some how justifies their criminal eugenics agenda -- keep in mind that that is exactly what Malthusian propagandists were waxing alarmist about over two centuries ago. It was bullshit then, and it's bullshit now:"Here is a difference between the animal and the man. Both the jayhawk and the man eat chickens, but the more jayhawks the fewer chickens, while the more men the more chickens. Both the seal and the man eat salmon, but when a seal takes a salmon there is a salmon the less, and were seals to increase past a certain point salmon must diminish; while by placing the spawn of the salmon under favorable conditions man can so increase the number of salmon as more than to make up for all he may take, and thus, no matter how much men may increase, their increase need never outrun the supply of salmon.
"In short, while all through the vegetable and animal kingdoms the limit of subsistence is independent of the thing subsisted, with man the limit of subsistence is, within the final limits of earth, air, water, and sunshine, dependent upon man himself." Even worse is the fact that modern-day Malthusians tend to be lapdog servants of the very parasitic ruling class that -- by engineering acute poverty in Third World nations -- actually caused the population explosions they incessantly whine about. ------------------------------------- http://www.globalissues.org/article/206/poverty-and-population-growth-lessons-from-our-own-pastPoverty and population growth: lessons from our own pastWith kind permission from Peter Rosset of the Institute for Food and Development Policy (or FoodFirst.org as it is also known), chapter 3 of World Hunger: 12 Myths, 2nd Edition, by Frances Moore Lappé, Joseph Collins and Peter Rosset, with Luis Esparza (fully revised and updated, Grove/Atlantic and Food First Books, Oct. 1998) has been reproduced and posted here. Due to the length of the chapter, it has been split into sub pages on this site. Let's try to understand why, by looking at our own demographic history. As recently as two or three generations ago, mortality rates in the United States were as high as they are now in most third world countries. Opportunities for our grandmothers to work outside the home were limited. And ours was largely an agrarian society in which every family member was needed to work on the farm. Coauthor Frances Lappé's own grandmother, for example, gave birth to nine children, raised them alone on a small farm, and saw only six survive to adulthood. Her story would not be unusual in a still fast-growing third world country today. Faced with scarcity, poor families needed many children to help with work on the farm, and because of high infant-mortality rates, they needed many more pregnancies and births to achieve the necessary family size. In the United States, the move to two-children families took place only after a society-wide transition that lowered infant death rates, opened opportunities to women outside the home, and transformed ours into an industrial rather than agrarian economy, so that families no longer relied on their children's labor. If we contrast Lappé's grandmother's story to a latter-day urban middle-class family, we can see that children who were once a source of needed labor are now a source of major costs, including tuition, an extra room in the house, the latest model basketball shoes, and forgone earnings for every year that a professional mom stays home with the kids. The United States advanced through the falling-birth-rate phase of the demographic transition in response to these societal changes, well before the advent of sophisticated contraceptive technologies, even while the government remained actively hostile to birth control. (As late as 1965, selling contraceptives was still illegal in some states.) Using our own country's experience to understand rapid population growth in the third world, where poverty is more extreme and widespread, we can now extend our hypothesis concerning the link between hunger and high fertility rates: both persist where societies deny security and opportunity to the majority of their citizens-where infant-mortality rates are high and adequate land, jobs, education, health care, and old-age security are beyond the reach of most people, and where there are few opportunities for women to work outside the home. Without resources to secure their future, people can rely only on their own families. Thus, when poor parents have lots of children, they are making a rational calculus for survival. High birth rates reflect people's defensive reaction against enforced poverty. For those living at the margin of survival, children provide labor to augment meager family income. In Bangladesh, one study showed that even by the age of six a boy provides labor and/or income for the family. By the age of twelve, at the latest, he contributes more than he consumes. Population investigators tell us that the benefit children provide to their parents in most third world countries cannot be measured just by hours of labor or extra income. The intangibles are just as important. Bigger families carry more weight in community affairs. With no reliable channels for advancement in sight, parents may hope that the next child will be the one clever or lucky enough to get an education and land a city job despite the odds. In many countries, income from one such job in the city can support a whole family in the countryside. And impoverished parents know that without children to care for them in old age, they will have nothing. They also realize that none of these possible benefits will be theirs unless they have many children, since hunger and lack of health care will kill many of their offspring before they reach adulthood. [ Continued...] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographic_transitionDemographic transitionThe Demographic transition model (DTM) is a model used to represent the process of explaining the transformation of countries from high birth rates and high death rates to low birth rates and low death rates as part of the economic development of a country from a pre-industrial to an industrialized economy. It is based on an interpretation begun in 1929 by the American demographer Warren Thompson of prior observed changes, or transitions, in birth and death rates in industrialized societies over the past two hundred years. Most developed countries are beyond stage three of the model; the majority of developing countries are in stage 2 or stage 3. The model was based on the changes seen in Europe so these countries follow the DTM relatively well. Many developing countries have moved into stage 3. The major (relative) exceptions are some poor countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa and some Middle Eastern countries, which are poor or affected by government policy or civil strife, notably Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Yemen and Afghanistan. Summary of the theoryThe transition involves four stages, or possibly five. * In stage one, pre-industrial society, death rates and birth rates are high and roughly in balance. * In stage two, that of a developing country, the death rates drop rapidly due to improvements in food supply and sanitation, which increase life spans and reduce disease. These changes usually come about due to improvements in farming techniques, access to technology, basic healthcare, and education. Without a corresponding fall in birth rates this produces an imbalance, and the countries in this stage experience a large increase in population. * In stage three, birth rates fall due to access to contraception, increases in wages, urbanization, a reduction in subsistence agriculture, an increase in the status and education of women, a reduction in the value of children's work, an increase in parental investment in the education of children and other social changes. Population growth begins to level off. * During stage four there are both low birth rates and low death rates. Birth rates may drop to well below replacement level as has happened in countries like Germany, Italy, and Japan, leading to a shrinking population, a threat to many industries that rely on population growth. As the large group born during stage two ages, it creates an economic burden on the shrinking working population. Death rates may remain consistently low or increase slightly due to increases in lifestyle diseases due to low exercise levels and high obesity and an aging population in developed countries. [ Continued...] ------------------------------------- So if "overpopulation" is not the real cause of world poverty and world hunger, then what is? One of the primary causes is the horribly corrupt and parasitic process whereby international bankers extract countless billions in usurious interest from developing economies each year in exchange for the nothing out of which they create the so-called "money" they loan: ------------------------------------- “The Third World War has already started -- a silent war, not for that reason any less sinister. This war is tearing down Brazil, Latin America and practically all the Third World. Instead of soldiers dying there are children, instead of millions of wounded there are millions of unemployed; instead of destruction of bridges there is the tearing down of factories, schools, hospitals, and entire economies….It is a war over the foreign debt, one which has as its main weapon interest, a weapon more deadly than the atom bomb, more shattering than a laser beam.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-is9t2BP7og (A pertinent clip from The Money Masters) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6WstddMJZQ (An interview with John Perkins, author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man) ------------------------------------- But outlawing fractional reserve banking and allowing countries to issue their own paper money debt-free and interest-free to fund the production and repair of public goods everyone can see and benefit from ( roads & bridges, maglev rail, etc.) would be to put the criminals who head the IMF and World Bank out of business, and we all know NWO minions aren't about to call for that. Another primary cause is the anti-labor/pro- land speculation tax system that nearly all governments impose on their respective populations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZkfmY1PMng (The Great Tax Clawback Scam) But you'll never hear NWO minions call for a reversal of that trend, either, because that would mean eliminating economic free-riding by overprivileged, politically-connected absentee landlords and slumlords. All we'll get are the usual top-down, Nazi-style control-freak measures that merely concentrate that much more political and economic power into the parasitic hands of the very criminal, psychopathic plutocrats who caused this mess in the first place. On issue after issue after issue, these plutocrats create a problem -- e.g., "terrorism" (via false flag ops), a financial collapse (via derivatives), widespread disease (via bioterrorism and contaminated food supplies), etc., etc., -- then add insult to injury by posing as our saviors from the very problem they themselves created! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QKU6M_j2uM (Problem-Reaction-Solution)

I remember Thomas Sowell said that in 1984.
Texas: Square mile = 5280 x 5280 square feet = 27,878,400 square feet. So 268,581 square miles = 7,487,608,550,400. Lets say to make it easy 7.5 x 10^12.

This of course proves there is no overpopulation problem....
It's all a dream go back to sleep.
Granted, that example is getting a bit outdated, but even if we was to use another state, say Alaska, there will still be plenty of wide open spaces around the globe. I am not saying we should cram everybody into one state, however it does illustrate how silly the overpopulation alarmism actually is.
