'DEATH PANELS' RESURRECTED UNDER NEW MEDICARE RULES

You probably remember the controversy over Sarah Palin’s charge six years ago that the Affordable Health Care Act would include “death panels” that would ration health care, effectively deciding in some cases who lives and who dies.

The assertion by Palin, the former Alaska governor and GOP vice presidential candidate, was PolitiFact’s “Lie of the Year” at the end of 2009. On her Facebook page, she wrote that “the sick, the elderly, and the disabled” would suffer most.

“The America I know and love,” Palin said, “is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.”

But lawmakers crafting Obamacare did propose panels that would decide whether or not a health-care procedure was worth paying for. And now, as the Associated Press reports, changes for Medicare in 2016 include “coverage for end-of-life counseling.”

I'M A DEPLORABLE KNUCKLEHEAD THAT SUPPORTS PRESIDENT TRUMP.  MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND KEEP HIM SAFE.

Bump for Trump REPEAL AND REPLACE...  Plus Veteran's Health reform

http://www.guns.com/2017/02/07/trump-meets-with-veterans-health-advocates-to-talk-va-reform/
Trump meets with veterans health advocates to talk VA reform
2/07/17| by Jared Morgan

The White House on Tuesday said it was dedicated to “creating a culture of accountability” within the government system charged with providing healthcare to more than 20 million of the country’s veterans.

President Donald Trump met with veterans health advocates and experts to discuss efforts to reform and modernize the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system.

“The experts discussed private sector solutions and innovations that could be used to improve the VA,” Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters later that afternoon.

Spicer said the idea that “we’re sitting around arguing” about VA personnel not doing their jobs “does not bode well” for how America is viewed by the rest of the world.

Among the group who met with the president in the Roosevelt Room was philanthropist and Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter, who donated $1 million to the Trump presidential campaign’s wounded warriors fund.

Veteran wife Tiffany Smiley spoke to reporters during a press conference outside of the White House. Her husband, Scotty, was blinded in Iraq in 2005 after a suicide car bomb explosion.

“Real change needs to happen,” Smiley said. “There are 22 suicide a day and quite honestly in our country it’s easier for a welfare recipient to gain access to care than it is our veterans, and that’s not OK.”

If Tuesday’s meeting was an indication of the direction the Trump administration seeks to go on reforming the embattled VA, one should look no further than the presence of Cleveland Clinic CEO Toby Cosgrove, who oversees a more than $5 billion healthcare system made up of some 28 hospitals, family health and ambulatory surgery centers in Florida, Nevada, Toronto and Abu Dhabi.
...

Not present at the White House’s first veterans health meeting were representatives from the biggest veterans advocacy groups like the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, who said they weren’t invited to the listening session, Military Times reported.

The White House reportedly said it would be setting up similar meeting with the veterans groups at a later date.

Rand Paul to fight OBoma Care Lite

Says he will introduce last years bill to end ACA ,.,,,  and caucus members to fight ACA LITE ....

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/03/07/rand-paul-trump-will-negotiate-obamacare-repeal-replacement
Paul: Trump Is 'Open-Minded' on Negotiating ObamaCare Replacement

"I like the president's statements that it's up for negotiation, and I think those have begun. ... He wants Obamacare repealed like all conservatives do, but he realizes that conservatives have a lot of objections," Paul said.

Will 'Denounce-and-Preserve' Beat 'Repeal-and-Replace'?

Rolling back Obamacare will require full Republican support in the Senate. Rand Paul—and others—could defect using a familiar political play.
...

Paul faces a more agonizing dilemma than almost any other Republican senator. A libertarian ideologue and Tea Party stalwart, Paul has spoken vociferously about the imperative of repeal for years.

Joshua Roberts / Reuters
David Frum   | Mar 6, 2017
...

Very understandably, the version of Obamacare repeal that Senator Paul introduced in January 2017 leaves Medicaid untouched. But, of course, Paul has no such assurance about the version of reform being incubated by the House Republicans under Speaker Paul Ryan. Which may explain why Paul has emerged as the most outspoken Republican critic of Ryan’s health-care approach.

According to Paul himself, his resistance to the Ryan approach is driven by his own superior ideological purity. “I think it is Obamacare Lite.[/b]

I didn’t sign on to vote for a new government program,” Paul told Fox News last week. Yet Paul must appreciate the practical consequences of his super-purist objection. The Ryan repeal plan is simultaneously under fire in the Senate from lawmakers who fear it goes too far. Senators Susan Collins and Bill Cassidy have introduced a measure that would preserve the ACA in its present form for those states that wish to participate—presumably including Cassidy’s state of Louisiana, which has signed up for the ACA’s Medicaid expansion.* ACA repeal can only happen if it is supported by all Republicans, accommodationists and purists alike. The vote tally won’t care why a Republican defects from the Ryan bill—only that he or she does.

Paul’s demand—repeal the ACA and replace it at the same time, even the same day—is obviously unworkable, even aside from the need to rally sufficient votes in the Senate to overcome a Democratic filibuster. You have to imagine that he and other self-imagined purists appreciate that.

Rand Paul protests outside room where House Republicans are hammering out Obamacare replacement
...
The Kentucky senator, who has pledged to oppose any bill that does not fully do away with the ACA and its insurance subsidies, learned late Thursday morning that committee members were talking about the bill in H157, a room on the Capitol’s first floor.

“I have been told that the House Obamacare bill is under lock and key, in a secure location, and not available for me or the public to view,” he tweeted.

The return of Rand Paul
By W. James Antle III (@jimantle) • 3/7/17 12:01 AM

Sen. Rand Paul's days-long quest to find the House Republican bill to repeal and replace Obamacare was derided by GOP lawmakers as a "publicity stunt," but it might just put the Kentucky senator back in the mix when it comes to influencing Congress as it prepares to make a series of key policy decisions.
//..

Now, Paul is angling for a chance to shape the healthcare debate, the outcome of which will likely play a huge role in how Republicans are perceived in the 2018 mid-term elections.
...

But for Paul, it was a return to form, and a return to the tactics he's been able to employ so successfully from his Senate seat. The healthcare reform fight is an opening for Paul to get back into the spotlight and try to win headlines for his uncompromising brand of fiscal conservatism, and it's one the ophthalmologist and son of an obstetrician is seizing with vigor.

Bob Bryan
Jan. 25, 2017,

The bill, named the Obamacare Replacement Act, would eliminate several provisions of the ACA, including the individual mandate and minimums on coverage standards. The bill's fact sheet doesn't mention any provision to allow parents to keep a child on their insurance until they turn 26.

Interestingly, Paul's plan would provide a two-year window for people with preexisting conditions to sign up for care. It would then revert to pre-ACA rules in which people with preexisting conditions could still get coverage in the group market. It's unclear what would happen to people with preexisting conditions in the individual market after the two-year open-enrollment period.

GOP Rep. Jim Jordan: Let's Vote On The Exact Same Obamacare Repeal We Sent To Obama
Posted By Ian Schwartz
On Date March 8, 2017

On Wednesday's Morning Joe, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said Congressional Republicans should introduce and vote on the "exact same" legislation that repeals Obamacare that was sent to President Obama when he held the presidency. Jordan called on his Republican brethren to "do what we told the voters we were going to do."

"Let's do this right and, more importantly, let's do what we told the voters we were going to do," Jordan said. "That’s why today I’ll be introducing legislation which just says clean repeal. Let's vote on the exact same thing -- 15 months ago, every single Republican in the House, every single Republican in the Senate voted on. We put it on President Obama’s desk."

Jordan, like GOP Senator Rand Paul, said the current 'repeal and replace' legislation being touted by Speaker Paul Ryan is "Obamacare in a different form" and keeps some of the taxes from the original bill.

Exclusive — Sarah Palin on Paul Ryan’s ‘RINO-Care’: ‘Socialized Medicine’; President Trump Will ‘Step In and Fix It’
by Matthew Boyle
11 Mar 2017
Washington, D.C. 5,743

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee and the first major GOP figure to endorse President Donald Trump, is calling out House Speaker Paul Ryan for what she says is “RINO-Care.”

Ryan introduced what he calls the “American Health Care Act,” a bill that does not repeal Obamacare but only amends it. For the last several days, senior Republicans ranging from members of the House Freedom Caucus to other House Republicans to Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Rand Paul (R-KY), Mike Lee (R-UT), and more have raised serious concerns with the bill.

Some call it Obamacare 2.0, others call it Obamacare Lite or Ryan-care, and now Palin—in her first interview on the topic, coming on Breitbart News Saturday on SiriusXM 125 the Patriot Channel this weekend—calls it “RINO-Care.”

The point is that the Insurance companies can't always get THEIR WAY....
After decades of destroying the health of americans ,,,, you dont' get paid on both ends .,..

The globalist eugenicists should not be rewarded on both ends and need to be cut out of future legislation

RIGHT! And this legislation is a piece of sh*t, and they'll put Trump's name on it, and insurance companies will rejoice.

Why are they RUSHING now?
Why are they PUSHING this down everyone's throats.
Ryan.
He's behind this, and he wants it to STICK it to the american people.
And he'll be able to blame Trump, once everyone sees the fallout.
The new healthcare plan is worse than the previous healthcare plan.

And as long as the crafters are the health insurers and pharma companies, we'll never have affordable healthcare for every American.

The vote on the Healthcare bill is today. Cspan is covering this live:
https://www.c-span.org/video/?425937-1/us-house-vote-gop-health-care-bill&live

Dems are whining right now.

On the other side of the aisle, Imo, there is no excuse for the Republicans not having an acceptable  bill to offer Trump as soon as he got into office. They had 8 years to get this right and didnt do their job. Inexcuseable!  >:(

This lameness (major lack of leadership and backbone) is a big problem in Congress. If they cant get the job done, then they should be fired. Its up to the people to pay attention and hold these babies to account. Are you paying attention?

Until they get a bill that repeals Obamacare, it will never pass! Ryan, Congress, do your damn job, or resign! Republicans have the House,  the Senate and the White House, and you cant get this done? Absolutely shameful! You have had 8 friggin years to get a good bill and have failed Americans again. No excuse is acceptable!

They lied about having this bill 'ready' to go... they produced a POS bill, and tried to ram it down our throats.
Just like the Dems rammed Obamacare down our throats.
But here's the deal: This is being WRITTEN by Insurance companies. Period.
So until these bozos come together to pressure the insurance companies into giving Americans REAL affordable care, we are stuck with what we have now.

Exactly two weeks ago, this author predicted the defeat of the American Health Care Act — and explained that it was a step towards the final, actual deal that will repeal and replace Obamacare.

President Donald Trump faces three irreconcilable factions: the GOP establishment, conservatives, and Democrats. He must bring them together — to “deliver the goods,” a key rule in The Art of the Deal. But first he must show them “the downside” — and convince them they will fail on their own.

The most difficult faction to deal with is the Republican establishment — not because they are politically strong, but because on policy issues like health care, they are convinced that they have all the answers and that Trump just does not understand.

So he let them make the first move — and he exposed two things about them: first, that they had not come up with a plan that was ready for prime time; second, that they had not done any of the political legwork necessary to sell their plan to voters.

Trump gave Speaker Paul Ryan and the House Republican leadership enough rope to hang themselves. Instead of dictating terms to him, they will now depend on him to save them, politically. They must accept whatever plan he will put forward.

But Trump will not make the next move. He will let the conservatives move first. They are the big winners in the first round — much more so than the Democrats, who are enjoying the spectacle of Republican dysfunction but have no role to play yet.

NO KIDDING! OBAMA CARE was written by Insurance companies - this new one is just a re-tread.

Nothing NEW at all.

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

I find it objectionable that Bannon was BULLYING people to VOTE FOR this POS bill... meanwhile...

"... Publicly, Bannon has been working to help the bill pass. But privately he’s talked it down in recent days. According to a source close to the White House, Bannon said that he’s unhappy with the Ryan bill because it “doesn’t drive down costs” and was “written by the insurance industry.” While the bill strips away many of Obamacare’s provisions, it does not go as far as Bannon would wish to “deconstruct the administrative state” in the realm of health care. Furthermore, Bannon has been distancing himself from the bill to insulate himself from political fallout of it failing. He’s told people that Trump economic adviser Gary Cohn — a West Wing rival — has run point on it. (Bannon did not respond to a request for comment.)"

And  the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,  ye have done it unto me.

Of course it was pulled, there was never a  serious thought to overturn it nor will there ever be.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

President Trump may be playing 4D chess with this because this may have been the perfect way to not only get the full repeal of Obamacare, but also a replacement of House Speaker, Paul Ryan.

Dems Push Pelosi for Single-Payer Health Care After AHCA Fails (People said back as they passed Obamacare that they always wanted single payer and created a disaster so the could later get just that.)

Sen. Reid: Obamacare ‘Absolutely’ A Step Toward A Single-Payer System

https://www.healthcare-now.org/blog/sen-reid-obamacare-absolutely-a-step-toward-a-single-payer-system/

Quote
When I speak to conservatives about health care policy, I’m often asked the question: “Do you think that Obamacare is secretly a step toward single-payer health care?” I always explain that, while progressives may want single-payer, I don’t think that Obamacare is deliberately designed to bring about that outcome. Well, yesterday on PBS’ Nevada Week In Review, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) was asked whether his goal was to move Obamacare to a single-payer system. His answer? “Yes, yes. Absolutely, yes.”

PELOSI CLASHES WITH CONSTITUENTS: ‘DO YOU WANT TO LISTEN OR JUST SPEAK?’

https://www.infowars.com/pelosi-clashes-with-constituents-do-you-want-to-listen-or-just-speak/

Quote
Appearing with Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Pelosi was confronted by activists with Indivisible, a group that has been turning out left-wing citizens largely at Republican town hall meetings across the country.

When Pelosi told the group that she has supported a single-payer health scheme for 30 years, shouts and jeers erupted.

Paul Ryan Under Fire as Health Care Is Delayed Again
by Ian Mason28 Apr 20171,675

Obviously the health care corps and health insurance corps OWN the congress .... like we didn't know that ...
Now they want to propose Romney/Ryan Care ... another flavor of EPIC FAIL ..
Meanwhile they rake in BILLIONS in extra premium dollars ... sucking the public dry ...
Which was the plan all along ...

Another example of brown nosing RINO's ...

Paul Ryan Under Fire as Health Care Is Delayed Again
by Ian Mason28 Apr 20171,675

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) leadership was called into question by new voices Thursday night as hopes expire of passing a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare before President Donald Trump’s first 100 days end on Saturday.

At a meeting on the Hill late Thursday night, the speaker and his House Republican leadership team decided to further delay the vote. With what appeared to be the acquiescence of conservatives in the Freedom Caucus and think-tanks like Club for Growth and FreedomWorks, who took much of the blame for the failure of the first attempt to pass the American Health Care Act (AHCA) in March, hopes were buoyed that passage was imminent. Instead, according to Politico, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told reporters as he left the meeting, “We are not voting on health care tomorrow. We’re still educating members.”

Syndicated radio host Laura Ingraham joined Fox News’s Hannity to vent her frustration with House Republicans. “This is another loss for Paul Ryan,” she told host Sean Hannity:

Paul Ryan was given this assignment to quarterback this legislation through the House. It wasn’t easy. It was going to be difficult. You have a lot of different factions, different people, different values, different personalities, but this is something you had to do. If you can’t get health care done, and done right, eight years after saying you were gonna do it … I don’t even know what to say about that. What does that say about your ability to lead at a critical time for our economy?

Ingraham then hinted she may be at the end of her patience with Speaker Ryan’s leadership. “I’m not gonna sugarcoat this. This is an embarrassment that this couldn’t get done,” she fumed. “You’ve got to get better communications. You have to know your caucus. Otherwise, just give it to someone who can do it. That’s all I can say”:
