None of it is being sold as "good." Quite the opposite. They are the bad guys. There is a news special on tv about how a "strong leader" arose to pick up the pieces because no one else could or would. He is a junior senator and is being praised by the news over and over. The military shows up in Jericho and totally takes over to restore "order." They haven't done anything bad to the people yet (but it is just the first episode). One of the main characters gets screwed over in a contract to save his farm that he is heavily in debt with. The contract stipulates that the terms are in enforce until a new monetary system is established. There is a battle between two factions that are trying to control the country: Cheyenne in the west, and Columbus in the east. The people behind the Cheyenne government are the ones that caused the nukes to go off, and one of the main characters is going to try to expose them as frauds because he still has one the undetonated nukes. Ones of his bosses was behind it all and he is DHS.

For a mainstream TV show, this is pretty darn good. I don't think it's psyops. I think the writers did a little homework.

This might be a good things to get friends and family to watch and discuss "what if."

You can watch the entire episode for free here: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/jericho/

And isn't it interesting that the capital of the "new government" is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  Who does that remind us of?  Wink

Ok, what is this Jericho stuff?   I thought that this was a place in the Bible.  I don't watch TV.
