United Nations Day
24 October

2017 Theme: Potential in Perversity er Diversity

UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.

24 October has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948.

In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that the day be observed by Member States as a public holiday.

World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999. Its purpose is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the original UNESCO declaration says, to "give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements".

It was generally celebrated in October, sometimes on the 5th, but in the latter part of the 20th century the world community celebrated it on the 15th, the birthday of Virgil, the Roman epic poet and poet laureate under Augustus.

The tradition to keep an October date for national or international poetry day celebrations still holds in many countries.[1] The United Kingdom also uses 5 October,[2] but elsewhere a different October, or even sometimes a November date, is celebrated.

Trump getting US out of UNESCO

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5

Lets hope the UN is next! Trump called them out in his first brilliant and courageous speech at the UN in Sept 2017, and the crowd applauded him. Many know Trump is a fearless real leader, which is why they are once again respecting America.  WINNING!
