Mormon (LDS) Do-it-Yourself Food Storage Canneries Forced to Restrict it's Members Use by Government Regulations

As of July 1st, huge numbers of Mormon "do-it-yourself" food storage canneries will no longer allow individuals to can their own food storage items. The announcement came this week that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) or "Mormons" can no longer follow a long-held faith-based tradition of canning bulk items for their own personal food supply. Many workers in these cannery locations have reported the new rule is a result of increased government regulation.

When charitable and legitimate quality supply organizations are no longer able to bear the huge costs and excessive administrative demands of ever-changing criteria set forth by the US Dept of Agriculture and the FDA, they may have no choice but to simply shut down. Is the recent policy change the first step? What's next?

The most effective way to lose your liberties and freedoms without a "fight" is simply by OVER REGULATION (being protected from your food for your own good).

Did you know, right now the government has implemented restrictions and regulations that limit your ability to grow your own food on your own property? This over regulation is choking the life out of each of our abilities to "do-it-yourself".

Now with the worldwide food shortage, the dollar crashing, the economy crashing, millions of Americans unable to afford food, homes lost, jobs lost, and the unprecedented incidents of natural disasters, millions of Americans are doing everything they can to just survive and prepare for an uncertain future. Food, of course, is the most important and absolute dependency that requires the greatest urgency of preparation for each of us.

The answer to this dilemma is the same right now as it has been for the last couple of years. "Do it Yourself" - store a supply of food while you still can, and "grow it yourself" while you still can. It's becoming obvious that the time each of us has to act "for ourselves" is drastically being cut shorter and shorter.

The government can't keep their hands of anything, CAN they.  They want to ruin everything for everybody.  This will put more Americans out of work.  Thank you FORMER KING obama.

Mormons have been stockpiling for decades. WHY?
All of a sudden the Gov jumps on them , again WHY?

I am not a fan of the their rleigion, though they are citizens and deserve to their freedom as citizens.
This is a blatant attack that will escalate to include all of us.      The message!
I wouldn't worry to much about the Mormons in general they have caches in numbers.

Why is the LDS bowing to this and setting a precedent?

What they're doing is considered religious freedom.

My dad often purchases goods at the Mormon cannery with his friend. My dads buddy is a member of the church and is allowed to bring friends. Recently I was lucky enough to attend a weekend seminar at a Mormon Cannery with my father and said friend. We learned preserving, seed storage, and canning. I was very surprised at the hospitality and humble nature of the congregation. They were not preachy and seemed to only want to pass knowledge. If you have a chance to visit a cannery in your area I very much suggest it.

As for this story, Spot on.

What they're doing is considered religious freedom.

If they can attack our religions, then they can attack us as individuals. Next canning, preserving, growing, storing, and eating our own food will be illegal.
