Idea to improve Democracy?!
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:07:39 AM »
What do you say about this idea: People elect their leader (president) and they let him rule for 4 years or 8 years and do what he or she wants but then at the end of the rule there's a referendum in which people have to say if they were satisfied how he ruled and if they are then fine but if they are not the elected leader must be immediately executed.

That would definitely give the last word to the people and not to mention power and other things.

So what do you think?

There are no improvements to be made to democracy, which is simply the rule of the majority, mob-rule.

The leader would have REAL incentive to buy the votes of a majority at the cost of the minority.

The challenge in arranging a government is the protection of those who donít want to be the ongoing victims.

Trying our best. People here really don't like her though. I used to see a ton on Hillary bumper stickers even two years ago from her run for the democratic nomination in 2008. Seems like they all took the stickers off.
And for the topic, I don't like pure democracy, but if you're going to have it I think it the government should be forced to send out info on all elections people could vote for. Wouldn't cost nearly as much as other things it spends on.
