I guess they don't have pepper spray in Michigan. They probably have a number of non-lethal weapons, but if you grew up playing shoot 'em up video games, why let a pesky little thing like that spoil the fun of living out your childhood fantasy?

You can't totally put the blame on video games. The PTB have destroyed the family, got us addicted to drugs(pharmaceuticals), given us a false sense of bonding/socialization, and brain washed the public through the TV to worship authority and to abuse it. It never used to be a childhood fantasy to murder helpless people in cold blood. The cops were probably indoctrinated and given steroids to commit this act. They only chose the blindly obedient and stupid ones to be storm troopers. Then they set them up with it's us vs. them and the blue code of silence. They have been hitting us on every front. The result Society is collapsing. They want people to get fed up and attack these scumbag cops so they can get their real plan rolling.

Target practice. My uncle Richard robbed banks, many banks. During the depression he had left school to work and help his family, he cleaned out oil storage tanks. He was walking on a plank at the top and it broke, the liquid in the tanks was boiling and a tad acidic. He held onto the top edge of the tank as his skin from toe to stomach was being burned.Other workers had no idea how he managed to hold on. He spent 2 yrs in recovery, during which time the oil company did not assist with medical care, nor did they help his family. He went over the edge mentally when he approached the oil co. managers for assistance and they basicly laughed at him. No excuses, he went bonkers. Hi MO was disquises and a unloaded pistol. He never carried a loaded gun. He had been caught once and paid his debt, but couldn't stop. He was again caught in New Bedord Mass, gave up, handed over his empty pistol. They took him to an abandoned area and used him for target practice, the coroner reported 17 gunshot wounds. My aunt (mothers side) asked me to travel to NB and get her brothers personell possesions, when I talked to the desk seargent, he told me to go home, if I didn't get out of the station I would be locked up. I was just a teenager and had no idea WTF was going on. Incidents such as this have been happening for many moons. 30 shots to an unarmed homeless guy, there will be hell to pay over this one, if there isn't we can assume the chiefs, councilmen and mayor, as well as these % of cops should be in cuffs.

I wanted to pass this on, I spoke with a police officer (that works for us as well) and asked him about this case. He seems to think that 6-7 officers shooting was a bit excessive. However, a man with a knife report is just that. Police are trained with the 15 feet rule. If you have a dangerous weapon and come into that 15 foot of space then you are considered a threat and you are trained to take the subject out.
I threw up the fact that he was a mental pt, and that the officers had had other run ins with this guy and was he really a threat. He seems to think that one might have been justified in shooting him because after all he did lunge toward them with the knife.
I think this could have ended a different way. I support law enforcement but not rouge officers. This shoot was unacceptable and the officers will have to answer in a court of law for their actions.

Hi Free, you remembered! No he wasn't his brother, he was my mothers oldest brother. Infact as a youngster he was slated for big things, a high honor student with scholarships being in the works for him. His father died and he left school to support his mother & family, this was during the great depression and he was loyal to his family. He had nothing but mangled scar tissue on his legs, I'm sure he had his genitals fried as well, my aunt would begin to cry each time she spoke of the accident., in short he was effected emotionally and a tad angry with Bankers and Supercorps, more so because they left his family on the verge of starvation. Hi mom, my grandmother was a talented pianist and a very loving woman, the suffering her and the kids went though boggels the mind. When Rcih was hositalized my mother, would sing, play the guitar on the street to get change, her brothers would dig clams day and night for a pittance. Many Years later after the accident and his incarceration: My father was x-military and went on to being a cop, a Luey. When He visited the home of my aunt (at my mothers request) Rich would be there also, , my father would wear his uniform and gear. A strange situation actually, a bank robber on one side and police on the other, I kinda felt in the middle. I was young when this was going on, about 6-7 years. The tension was electric. I do remember the my uncle would give us gifts, kids wallets with Davey Crockett images on them and money inside with a big smile on his face. Safe to say my father didn't cotton to Richard, also Richard didn't take to him either but he just didn't show it, my father would provoke him and he would just smile. A depression, close to where we are now was litterally hell, in those days they had no MSM to feed them illusions, they lived in the true reality. SURVIVAL. Wall street had their colapse didn't they, and history repeats.

What a powerful story. It reminded me of one of those old black and white movie story lines from the 1930s. Another example of the criminal elite destroying lives.A good man with all kinds of promise shoved right down the meat grinder. What a hard man your father was.No empathy or understanding at all for his brother in law. It`s hard to believe your father could be that blind.

Officers "in fear for their lives", yet all had given up their cover and distance despite the threat of a man with a knife... who, from watching the video, we can see was actually moving away from the officers when they shot him.
Was this an execution? I don't think so. That requires intent from the outset. I highly doubt they intended to have to actually kill the guy. However, when you've opted for Rosco over a tazer or pepper spray, you become a firing squad waiting to happen. They had ample time to dial it back to a non-lethal option.

EXACTLY! Bringing a gun to a knife fight isn't fair play. These cops are wimps, and poorly trained at that. There is NO reason to shoot a person that is coming at you with a knife, especially outside of 6-8 feet. None. Cops that shoot are reacting in sheer fear, or pure evil. The military mentality of "overwhelming force" has infested law enforcement.

How many cops does it take to kill a homeless guy with a knife?
Just remember kids, it's OK for the machine to use a gun to kill a person coming at them with a knife, BUT NOT YOU!!
Yeah, if your the police you wouldn't use a taser in a situation like this. That's used for 6 to 12 year olds and an occasional senior citizen.
You have to remember the Feds have 'militarized' our police. Which mean that they are trained killers. In the 1950's 60's the cops would have shot him in the knee only wounding him.
