just for comparison - Sweden - 15 percent foreign born now:

Swedish riots rage for fourth night
Police attacked and cars torched in Stockholm suburbs as unrest sparked by long-term youth unemployment and poverty spreads
Agencies in Stockholm
guardian.co.uk, Thursday 23 May 2013 04.00 EDT

Hundreds of youth have burned down a restaurant, set fire to more than 340 cars and attacked police during a fourth night of rioting in the suburbs of the Swedish capital, shocking a country that dodged the worst of the financial crisis but failed to solve youth unemployment and resentment among asylum seekers.

Violence spread across Stockholm on Wednesday, as large numbers of young people rampaged through the suburbs, throwing stones, breaking windows and destroying cars. Police in the southern city of Malmo said two cars had been set ablaze.
...

Around 15% of the population is foreign-born, and unemployment among these stands at 16%, compared with 6% for native Swedes, according to OECD data.

Youth unemployment in Husby, at 6%, is twice the overall average across the capital.

The left-leaning tabloid Aftonbladet said the riots represented a "gigantic failure" of government policies, which had underpinned the rise of ghettos in the suburbs.

As unemployment has grown, the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats party has risen to third in polls ahead of a general election due next year, reflecting many voters' worries that immigrants may be partly to blame.

While many of the immigrant population are from Nordic neighbours closely tied to Sweden by language or culture, the debate has tended to focus on poor asylum seekers from distant warzones.

Out of a total 103,000 immigrants last year, 43,900 were asylum seekers, almost 50% up from 2011. Nearly half of these were refugees from fighting in Syria, Afghanistan or Somalia, and will get at least temporary residency.

Among 44 industrialised countries, Sweden ranks fourth in the absolute number of asylum seekers, and second relative to its population, according to United Nations figures.

Policing in Stockholm has already been the focus of controversy this year, with allegations that police were picking out darker-skinned immigrants for identity checks on subway trains.

Why don't we just open the borders and let 'em all in? That's what this bill will do, basically. The globalists will bankrupt us all and enslave us. It's never been so easy, given all the sheeple. ::)

Just to compare to Sweden again:

They don’t want to integrate’: Fifth night of youth rioting rocks Stockholm - VIDEO

Youth gang riots in the Swedish capital Stockholm have entered fifth straight night. Hundreds of mostly immigrant teenagers tore through the suburbs, smashing windows and burning cars in the country’s worst outbreak of violence in years
...

Community leaders insist that a main reason for the violence is the high rate of unemployment in immigrant communities, particularly in the suburb of Husby near central Stockholm, one of the worst affected by the nighttime violence, Peter Oliver reported.

Although Sweden’s unemployment rate is below the EU average, joblessness among those under 25 has reached nearly 25 percent. The RT crew in Stockholm noted that a majority of those taking part in the violence are young.

“In Sweden you’ve got welfare, access to the educational system – up to university level, you got access to public transport, libraries, healthcare – to everything. And still they feel that they [immigrants] need to riot through stones and Molotov cocktails. It’s ridiculous and a bad excuse,” Swedish Democrats MP Kent Ekeroth told RT.

Thirty fires in third night of Stockholm riots
Published: 22 May 13 10:20 CET

Police arrested eight people on Tuesday night as thirty cars were torched across southern and western Stockholm, in what was the third consecutive night of unrest in the Swedish capital.

...

The Jakobsberg police station was also vandalized, with rioters smashing the windows, and also damaging a nearby shopping centre.
"I'm scared that it will get worse. It's going to become like France," one Kista resident told the Aftonbladet newspaper.

Eight people were arrested, and calm was restored across the city by around 3am.

http://www.thelocal.se/48096/20130523/

With one 18-year-old remanded in custody after four nights of rioting in Stockholm, Sweden's Integration Minister Erik Ullenhag said the rioters are a small minority, and did not represent a clash between young people in the suburbs and society.

How the IRS scandal helped immigration reform
By Chris Cillizza and Sean Sullivan, Published: May 24, 2013 at 6:30 am
...

The immigration bill’s forward progress — it now heads to a full floor debate next month — was entirely drowned out by a series of House and Senate committee hearings on the IRS’ acknowledged targeting of conservative groups.  That drowning out, however, was, quite simply, the best thing that could have possibly happened for the immigration bill. In fact, without it, the immigration legislation’s path out of committee might not have been so smooth.

The simple fact is that political Washington really can’t pay attention to two big stories at once. Or, more accurately, it can’t fight two battles simultaneously. It can’t walk and chew gum.
...
And, if Congress was focused on the IRS, it wasn’t focused on immigration.  That meant questions about border security and, especially, the inclusion of a path to citizenship in the legislation didn’t engender the fight they might have otherwise.

Supporters of comprehensive immigration reform admit that the bill benefited from the IRS scandal in the near term but fear the long term implications of the ongoing investigation into the nation’s tax-collecting agency.
...
“I think it hurts as it exacerbates distrust in government,” said one source supportive of comprehensive immigration reform. “This is problematic because people on the right need to have confidence government can implement [immigration reform].”

The truth is that the forces opposed to the immigration bill — led by Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions — were always likely to wait until the legislation hit the Senate floor before making their strongest case against it.

But, what’s also clear is that the legislation took far fewer direct political hits during the committee process than even many of its most ardent supporters believed it would. If immigration reform passes, it will have received a major assist from Lois Lerner and the rest of the IRS.

Dream Act is "De Facto"  "Deferred Action"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_facto

In law, it often means "in practice but not necessarily ordained by law" or "in practice or actuality, but not officially established." It is commonly used in contrast to de jure (which means "concerning the law") when referring to matters of law, governance, or technique (such as standards) that are found in the common experience as created or developed without or contrary to a regulation. When discussing a legal situation, de jure designates what the law says, while de facto designates action of what happens in practice. It is analogous and similar to the expressions "for all intents and purposes" or "in fact".

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden met in the Oval Office on Tuesday with three people who are in the country in violation of U.S. immigration laws but who have received “deferred action” allowing them to stay in the country under the terms of a "memorandum" issued unilaterally last year by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

While conceding that she had no legal authority to change the "immigration status" of illegal aliens or provide them with a "pathway to citizenship," Napolitano instructed the top officials at Customs and Border Protection, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to use what she called "prosecutorial discretion" in not enforcing the immigration laws against certain classes of immigration lawbreakers.

These included illegal aliens who arrived in the United States before their sixteenth birthday, had graduated from high school or served in the military, had not been convicted of "significant" or "multiple" misdemeanors, and had not yet turned thirty.

Before Napolitano issued this unilateral order allowing the illegal aliens to remain in the country in violation of the law, President Obama's allies in Congress had failed to secure passage of the Dream Act, which would have allowed such persons to became legal residents in the United States.

In all, Obama and Biden met on Tuesday with eight people who are advocating immigration reform, according to White House readout of the meeting. The White House readout listed three of those as having received “deferred action.” Most others were legally in the United States with relatives who were illegal aliens.

Arizona's limits on immigrant driver's licenses upheld
A federal judge rejects a challenge to Gov. Jan Brewer's denial of driver's licenses to youths who qualify for them under the Obama administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
by Cindy Carcamo, Los Angeles Times
May 18, 2013

TUCSON — Young people granted immigration relief and work permits under a new Obama administration program still won't be able to obtain driver's licenses in Arizona, a federal judge has ruled.

Although the decision is a win for Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, who issued the executive order denying driver's licenses to this particular group, it's just the first battle in a case that will probably be argued on constitutional grounds.

U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell on Thursday turned down a request for a preliminary injunction blocking Brewer's order but stated that the plaintiffs — a contingent of immigrant rights groups — would probably prevail on their claim that the governor's order violates guarantees of equal protection under the U.S. Constitution.
...
Most states have allowed youths granted deferred deportation to apply for a driver's license. In August, however, Brewer issued her executive order to ban such licenses.

Brewer's order states that Obama's executive order does not grant the youths "any lawful or authorized status and does not entitle them to any additional public benefit

Opponents — the Arizona Dream Act Coalition and five immigrants — sued in November, asking a judge to issue an injunction and challenging Brewer's order as unconstitutional.

The American Civil Liberties Union called Campbell's decision an important ruling, stating that it would continue to fight.

...

An estimated 80,000 youths in Arizona, and 1.76 million nationwide, are covered by Obama's program, according to the Migration Policy Institute, an immigration think tank based in Washington.

As of end of March, the federal government had accepted 472,004 requests for the deferred action program. Of those applications, 268,361 were approved and 1,377 denied. The rest are still under review.

The Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2010

Forty million foreign-born people lived in the United States in 2010, according to the American Community Survey (ACS).

During the last 50 years, the number of foreign born from Latin America and the Caribbean has increased rapidly, from less than 1 million in 1960 to 21.2 million in 2010.1
Currently, the foreign born from Latin America represent over half of the total foreign-born population.

The foreign born represented 13 percent of the U.S. population.

By state, the percentage of foreign born ranged from just over 1 percent in West Virginia to 27 percent in California.

The states with the highest percentage of foreign born in their populations were California
(27 percent), New York (22 percent), and New Jersey (21 percent).

Geographic Distribution
While the foreign born resided in every state in 2010, over half lived in just four states: California, New York, Texas, and Florida.

Over one-fourth of the total foreign-born population lived in California.

California, New York, and New Jersey had the highest foreign-born proportions in their total populations.
Over 1 in 4 residents of California and over 1 in 5 residents of New York and New Jersey were foreign born.

Well, a lot of these Communistic Senators are trying to drive us into Communism.

There is a communist tradition in Mexico too: Hmmm....

http://www.historytoday.com/richard-cavendish/trotsky-offered-asylum-mexico

After he was formally condemned to death in Moscow, the Mexican government offered Trotsky refuge and protection, on December 6th 1936.

...

In December that year the Mexican government offered Trotsky refuge and protection, which he gratefully accepted. He and Natalya sailed from Norway aboard an oil tanker and arrived in Mexico in January 1937.

The Trotskys lived in the Coyoacan area of Mexico City as guests at the Blue House, the home of the painters Diego Rivera and his wife Frida Kahlo. They were both cheerfully promiscuous and Frida took Trotsky to bed, to Natalya’s dismay. Trotsky depended for money on his publications, help from supporters and the fees he charged for interviews and for holding seminars for students. By May 1939 Trotsky and Rivera had had enough of each other and Trotsky and Natalya moved to a house close by on Avenida Viena. The years of exile, danger and uncertainty had weighed Trotsky down. Ill with high blood pressure and thinking about suicide, he looked back over his life. If he had it to live over again, he wrote, he would pursue the same course: ‘I shall die a proletarian revolutionist, a Marxist, a dialectical materialist and, consequently, an irreconcilable atheist.’

In May 1940 an attempt to kill Trotsky by Soviet agents armed with machine guns failed, but on August 20th a charming Spanish Communist and Soviet secret agent calling himself Ramon Mercader, who had managed to infiltrate the household through a love affair with one of Trotsky’s secretaries, took the opportunity to stab Trotsky in the head with a mountaineer’s ice-axe. Trotsky was mortally wounded and died in hospital the next day. He was 60 years old.

Communist Party of Mexico (Marxist–Leninist) (in Spanish: Partido Comunista de México (Marxista-Leninista)), is a communist, Anti-Revisionist Marxist-Leninist, Hoxhaist party in Mexico which upholds the line of Enver Hoxha.

The party is an active member of the International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations (Unity & Struggle). It publishes the newspaper Vanguardia Proletaria and the theoretical magazine Politica. This organization has been one of the most influential in the revolutionary left in Mexico, they have played an important part in the most significant social movements of recent years such as CGH (UNAM 1999), the Mexe Hidalgo (2000), Atenco (2003), Lazaro Cardenas (2006), Guerrero, the Commune of Oaxaca (APPO 2006).

After the Revolution of Ayutla, nearly all of the top figures in the government were Freemasons and fierce anticlericals
...
After the rule of Porfirio Díaz who was relatively moderate in his stance toward the Church, an increasingly violent and extreme anticlericalism erupted.[1]

In 1917, a new Constitution was enacted, hostile to Church and religion, which promulgated a draconian anti-clericalism of the sort seen in France during the Revolution.[1] The new Mexican Constitution was hostile to Church as a consequence of the support given by the High Mexican Catholic Clergy to the dictatorship of Victoriano Huerta.

The 1917 Constitution outlawed teaching by the Church, gave control over Church matters to the state, put all Church property at the disposal of the state, outlawed religious orders, outlawed foreign born priests, gave states the power to limit or eliminate priests in their territory, deprived priests of the right to vote or hold office, prohibited Catholic organizations which advocated public policy, prohibited religious publications from commenting on public policy, prohibited clergy from religious celebrations and from wearing clerical garb outside of a church and deprived citizens of the right to a trial for violations of these provisions.[9][10]

One political scientist stated that the gist of the 1917 constitution was to "effectively outlaw the Roman Catholic Church and other religious denominations".[11]

Another article of the Constitution emboldened Marxist and then Communist labor unions which subsequently incited even more anti-religious governments

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoriano_Huerta
...
Huerta established a harsh military dictatorship. U.S. President Woodrow Wilson became hostile to the Huerta administration, recalled ambassador Henry Lane Wilson, and demanded Huerta step aside for democratic elections. When Huerta refused, and with the situation further exacerbated by the Tampico Affair, President Wilson landed U.S. troops to occupy Mexico's most important seaport, Veracruz.

The reaction to the Huerta usurpation was Venustiano Carranza's Plan of Guadalupe, which called for the creation of a Constitutional Army to oust Huerta and restore constitutional government. Supporters of the plan included Emiliano Zapata, Francisco "Pancho" Villa and Álvaro Obregón. After repeated field defeats of Huerta's Federal Army by Obregón and Villa, climaxing in the Battle of Zacatecas, Huerta bowed to pressure and resigned the presidency on 15 July 1914

Exclusive: The Truth About ‘La Raza’
By: cnorwood
4/7/2006

...

It was instead, downtown Los Angeles, Calif., although the scene was recreated in numerous other cities around the country with substantial Mexican populations. Hordes of Mexican expatriates, many here illegally, were protesting the very U.S. immigration laws they were violating with impunity. They found it offensive and a violation of their rights that the U.S. dared to have immigration laws to begin with.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa mounted the podium, but any hopes that he would quiet the crowds and defend the law were soon dashed. Villaraigosa, himself, has spent a lifetime opposing U.S. immigration law.

For law-abiding Americans without knowledge of the dark side of our current illegal immigration crisis, all this is unfathomable. For those who know the truth about the “La Raza” movement, these demonstrations were a prophecy fulfilled.

It is past time for all Americans to know what is at the root of this outrageous behavior, and the extent to which the nation is at risk because of “La Raza” — The Race.

There are many immigrant groups joined in the overall “La Raza” movement. The most prominent and mainstream organization is the National Council de La Raza — the Council of “The Race”.

To most of the mainstream media, most members of Congress, and even many of their own members, the National Council of La Raza is no more than a Hispanic Rotary Club.

But the National Council of La Raza succeeded in raking in over $15.2 million in federal grants last year alone, of which $7.9 million was in U.S. Department of Education grants for Charter Schools, and undisclosed amounts were for get-out-the-vote efforts supporting La Raza political positions.

The Council of La Raza succeeded in having itself added to congressional hearings by Republican House and Senate leaders. And an anonymous senator even gave the Council of La Raza an extra $4 million in earmarked taxpayer money, supposedly for “housing reform,” while La Raza continues to lobby the Senate for virtual open borders and amnesty for illegal aliens.

...

MEChA and the La Raza movement teach that Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon and parts of Washington State make up an area known as “Aztlan” — a fictional ancestral homeland of the Aztecs before Europeans arrived in North America. As such, it belongs to the followers of MEChA. These are all areas America should surrender to “La Raza” once enough immigrants, legal or illegal, enter to claim a majority, as in Los Angeles. The current borders of the United States will simply be extinguished.

This plan is what is referred to as the “Reconquista” or reconquest, of the Western U.S.

But it won’t end with territorial occupation and secession. The final plan for the La Raza movement includes the ethnic cleansing of Americans of European, African, and Asian descent out of “Aztlan.”

As Miguel Perez of Cal State-Northridge’s MEChA chapter has been quoted as saying: “The ultimate ideology is the liberation of Aztlan. Communism would be closest [to it]. Once Aztlan is established, ethnic cleansing would commence: Non-Chicanos would have to be expelled — opposition groups would be quashed because you have to keep power.”

The Metropolitan police put 1,200 more officers on the street on Thursday, with extra patrols deployed to mosques and religious sites as far-right groups reacted to the tragedy.

The Tell Mama co-ordinator Fiyaz Mughal, from Faith Matters, said the service usually recorded three or four incidents on an average day, but the spike after Wednesday's killing reflected simmering resentment against Muslims and was unlikely to fizzle out.

"What we are seeing is concerted action from individuals across the country," he said. "We are really concerned. When you see a wider picture of resentment and retribution, this is telling us it's an increasing problem. Something is moving in a very disturbing direction."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_France
...
According to Michèle Tribalat, researcher at INED, there were, in 1999, approximately 14 million persons of foreign ancestry (about a quarter of the population), defined as either immigrants or people with at least one immigrant parent or grandparent. Half of them were of European ancestry (including 5.2 million from South Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal and former Yugoslavia)). The rest were from Maghreb (3 million), Sub-saharan Africa (680,000), Turkey (320,000) and other parts of the world (2.5 million).[64] Immigrants from the Maghreb are commonly referred to as beur, a verlan slang term derived from the word arabe (French for Arab).[65]

According to the distinguished French historian of immigration Gérard Noiriel, one third of the population currently living in France is of "foreign" descent

France has not collected religious or ethnic data in its censuses since the beginning of the Third Republic, but the country's predominant faith has been Roman Catholicism since the early Middle Ages. Church attendance is fairly low, however, and the proportion of the population that is not religious has grown over the past century. A 2004 IFOP survey tallied that 44% of the French people did not believe in God; contrast with 20% in 1947.[90] A study by the CSA Institute conducted in 2003 with a sample of 18,000 people found that 27% considered themselves atheists, and 65.3% Roman Catholic, while 12.7% (8,065,000 people) belonged to some other religion.

There are an estimated 5 million Muslims,[91] one million Protestants, 600,000 Buddhists, 491,000 Jews,[92] and 150,000 Orthodox Christians as of 2000 figures[citation needed]. The last figure does not appear to include high numbers of Apostolic Armenians present in the Paris and Marseille conurbations. The US State Department's International Religious Freedom Report 2004 .[93] estimated the French Hindu population at 181,312.

6.5% of the EU population are foreigners and 9.4% are born abroad

In 2010 there were 32.5 million foreigners in the EU-27, corresponding to 6.5% of the total population. The majority of them, 20.2 million,
were third-country nationals (i.e. citizens of non-EU countries),
while the remaining 12.3 million were citizens of another Member State. Only in Luxembourg, Ireland, Belgium, Cyprus, Slovakia and Hungary were there more citizens of other EU countries than third-country nationals.

Due to better data availability, information on citizenship has often been used to study populations with a foreign background. However,
since citizenship can change over time, many data users prefer information by country of birth. There were 47.3 million foreign-born residents in the EU in 2010, corresponding to 9.4% of the total population. Of these, 31.4 million were born outside the EU and 16.0 million were born in another EU Member State. Only in Luxembourg, Ireland and Hungary were foreign-born from other EU countries more numerous than those born outside the EU. People born abroad outnumbered foreigners in all Member States, except in Luxembourg, Latvia and the Czech Republic.

...
One quarter of the foreigners in the EU are citizens of Turkey, Romania, Morocco or Poland

For reference lack of reciprocity:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_Mexico

Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters.[1] The Mexican government may grant this right to foreigners if they agree before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not to invoke the protection of their own governments in any matters relating to the property they wish to buy. This is known as the Calvo Clause. This is generally done through a permit process. The 1917 Mexican constitution imposed restrictions on the purchase of land on those without Mexican citizenship. In particular, it prohibits direct ownership of real estate in what is known as the "restricted zone". This zone encompasses all land within 100 km of either Mexican land border and within 50 km of any Mexican coastline

Mexico is primarily a country of emigration but it is also a country of immigration, refuge and transit migration.

According to the 2010 Census there are 961,621 immigrants registered with the government as living in Mexico, the majority of whom are US citizens—mostly children of deported Mexican government.

Immigrants arrive in Mexico for many reasons, most of the documented immigrants have arrived for economic and/or work-related reasons. Many, such as executives, professionals, scientists, artists, or athletes working for either Mexican or foreign companies, arrive with secure jobs. Retirement is the main motivation for immigrants who tend to be more permanent.

Aside from dual national descendants of Mexicans, naturalized Mexicans, or the undocumented, 262,672 foreign residents live on its soil. The majority of its foreign residents are from the U.S. followed by Spain and Guatemala.

The largest recent immigrant flows to Mexico are from Central America, with a total of 66,868 immigrants from Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua living in Mexico in 2010.[3] According to the Mexican government in 2011 just under 20,000,000 foreigners entered its territory

...
Undocumented immigration has been a problem for Mexico, especially since the 1970s. Although the number of deportations is declining with 61,034 registered cases in 2011, the Mexican government documented over 200,000 unauthorized border crossings in 2004 and 2005
...
The largest number of Americans outside the United States live in Mexico.

According to Mexico 2010 Census, there are 738,103 Americans living in the Mexican Republic.,[8] while the US Embassy in Mexico City has at times given an estimate closer to 1 million.

Mostly, people who come from the USA are students, retirees, religious workers (missionaries, pastors, etc.), Mexican-Americans, and spouses of Mexican citizens. A few are professors who come employed by Mexican companies to teach English, other English teachers, and corporate employees and executives.

Mexicans by naturalization are the following:
those that obtain from the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs a letter of naturalization, and
the man or woman married to a Mexican national residing in that Mexican territory and fulfilling all requirements set forth in the Mexican nationality law: to have lived with the spouse for two years immediately prior to the date of the application.

The Nationality Law establishes also that a foreigner that wishes to naturalize must do the following:[2]
present the application to the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs;
formulate the renunciation and taking of the oath of nationality once this has been given;
prove knowledge of Spanish and Mexican history integratation to the national culture; and
prove residence in Mexico for five years immediately prior to the submission of the application, or

two years of residency if:
a direct descendant of a Mexican by birth; or
is the mother or father of a Mexican by birth; or
is a national of a Latin American or Iberian country; or
to the judgment of the Secretariat, she or he has performed or created outstanding works in a cultural, social, scientific, technical, artistic, sports or business area that benefit the nation, in which case, the foreigner is not required to have resided in the country for the number of years prescribed in the law; or

one year of residency if adopted by a Mexican national, as well as all minors, who are second generation descendants or have been under tutelage of a Mexican national.

...
Mexican law also distinguishes between naturalized citizens and natural-born citizens in many ways. Under the Mexican constitution, naturalized citizens are prohibited from serving in a wide array of positions, mostly governmental.

Naturalized Mexicans cannot occupy any of positions in the following:
The Mexican military during peacetime [5]
Policeman [5]
Captain, pilot, or crew member on any Mexican-flagged vessel or aircraft[5]
President of Mexico[6]
Member of the Congress of Mexico [7]
Member of the Supreme Court of Mexico[8]
Governor of a Mexican state [9]
Mayor or member of the legislature of Mexico City

Three illegal immigrant gang members who faced the death penalty for murdering a Maryland man last summer have been spared by the nation's chief law enforcement officer who has ordered prosecutors not to seek the maximum punishment.

Attorney General Eric Holder intervened on behalf of the El Salvadoran gangbangers by directing federal prosecutors handling their conspiracy and murder case to rule out the death penalty, according to a Virginia-based news web site that broke the story this week. The three illegal immigrants are members of a notoriously violent street gang called Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) that has spread throughout the country like the plague.

...
the backing of Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte Sunday, giving the bill a boost ahead of Senate debate this week
...
Ayotte, who represents New Hampshire, said Sunday the bill deserves consideration as a fix to a system that is hurting American security and productivity.

“For too long, politicians on both sides of the aisle in Washington have failed to lead on this issue,” Ayotte wrote. “And no doubt there will be naysayers in this debate who will continue to make excuses for inaction.”
...
Rubio said last week the immigration plan does not yet have the support of 60 senators, but voiced confidence that eventually the bill would garner enough votes.
...
Sen. Rand Paul said the bill doesn’t solve any of the problems plaguing the current system, and stands no chance of passing the GOP-controlled House.

“I want to make the bill work, but see, the thing is, is what they have in the Senate has zero chance of passing in the House,” said the Kentucky Republican. “So, why not come to a conservative like myself ... why not work with me to make the bill closer to what would be acceptable in the House?”

Marco Rubio: In immigration reform, legalization comes first — ‘It is not conditional’

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., flanked by Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., left, and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., right, speaks about immigration reform legislation as outlined by the Senate's bipartisan "Gang of Eight" that would create a path for the nation's 11 million unauthorized immigrants to apply for U.S. citizenship, in this file photo.

In a Spanish-language interview Sunday with the network Univision, Sen. Marco Rubio, the leading Republican on the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform group, made his strongest statement yet that legalization of the nation’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants must happen before any new border security or internal enforcement measures are in place, and will in no way be conditional on any security requirements.

“Let’s be clear,” Rubio said. “Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence.”

Kaine to Deliver Rare Spanish-Language Floor Speech
By Niels Lesniewski   Posted at 12:11 p.m. today

Listen closely to the Senate floor shortly after noon and you’ll hear something you don’t hear every day.

Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., plans to deliver a Senate floor speech in Spanish to encourage support for the immigration overhaul drafted by the “gang of eight” senators that’s due to formally reach the Senate floor this afternoon.

[ To use another language on the floor requires unanimous consent of the other senators, which Mr. Kaine sought and was granted ]

According to CQ Roll Call’s “Politics in America,” Kaine was a teacher at a Jesuit school in El Progreso, Honduras.

''
Translation of Senator Tim Kaine’s Floor Remarks As Prepared for Delivery

The Senate has begun a historic debate on comprehensive immigration reform. We have had and will continue to have hours of debate on this issue. I think it is appropriate that I spend a few minutes explaining the bill in Spanish, a language that has been spoken in this country since Spanish missionaries founded St. Augustine, Florida in 1565. Spanish is also spoken by almost 40 million Americans who have a lot at stake in the outcome of this debate.

First, I want to applaud my colleagues in the “Gang of 8,” who have worked tirelessly to come up with a bipartisan comprehensive bill. This issue deserves an open and fair debate on the floor. It has been over 25 years since we passed a comprehensive immigration reform bill. The next few days and weeks will not be easy; they will be a test for the Senate, and whether this body can debate, offer amendments, compromise, and ultimately come together on an issue that will move our country forward.

This debate is about Isabel Castillo.

This young woman from Harrisonburg, Virginia was brought to the United States by her parents at the very young age of 6. Her parents performed hard labor in order to support their family by picking apples and working in a poultry plant. All they wanted, like all parents do, was a better life for their children. Isabel did everything right – she graduated from High School and went on to attend college, where she graduated magna cum laude. She did not qualify for financial aid, due to her immigration status, and worked for a year to save money for college. After she graduated from college she was unable to legally find a job. Instead of giving up, this young woman organized the Harrisonburg Dream Act chapter to raise awareness about her situation in order to help other students.

This is one example of many as to why we need to pass an immigration bill. For students and families, such as Isabel’s, this is about their future.

The last time Congress passed a Comprehensive Immigration bill was in 1986. Many of the concerns I hear from Virginians involve issues that the last immigration reform bill did not address -- lack of sufficient border security measures and a way to address the large number of undocumented immigrants in our country. The last immigration reform bill also did not include spouses and children of legalized immigrants – which created a strong incentive for many to enter or remain in the country illegally.

This time around, things are different. I have been very impressed by the open process we have had in the Judiciary Committee.

o 212 amendments were considered in the Committee;
o 30 Republican amendments were accepted; and
o 12 full Committee hearings on Immigration and Border Security were held before markup.

I understand that some doubt remains as to whether or not this bill will fix our broken immigration system. While not perfect - I can confidently stand here today and say this bill will do more for border security, more to improve our current backlog, more to strengthen our employment verification system, and more to put measures in place to deal with the future flow of immigrants – compared to any other immigration bill in history.

This bill will first and foremost create a path to earned citizenship, not amnesty. Undocumented individuals will have to meet several stringent requirements such as, paying fees and fines, passing national security and criminal background checks, paying their taxes and learning English.

And before anyone can come out of the shadows, this bill requires a border security strategy and border fencing strategy within six months of enactment.

I am proud that this bill includes strong provisions to protect students who only know this country as their home, DREAMERS, as well as Agricultural workers, who perform some of the most difficult labor – these individuals will have an accelerated path if they meet certain conditions.

In order for the U.S. to be the most talented country in the world – we must fix the current flaws in our immigration system. Our immigration system does not meet the demands of businesses that wish to attract and retain highly qualified immigrants.

It is not about just addressing the short-term needs of the STEM workforce but about investing in the future of our children. In order to ensure we remain globally competitive, we must increase our investments in education. This bill does just that by establishing a STEM education initiative – funded through fees collected from employers of foreign STEM workers.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations “60 percent of U.S. employers are having difficulties finding qualified workers to fill vacancies at their companies.”

This bill also creates a fair path for individuals who want to come into this country and start businesses, create jobs, and invest in the economy.

o In Virginia, Asian-owned businesses had sales and receipts of more than $13 billion and employed more than 92,000 people.
o Virginia’s foreign students contribute more than $405 million to the state’s economy in tuition, fees, and living expenses every year.

Immigrants’ contributions in the high-tech sector are striking, with one study finding that immigrants started 25 percent of all engineering and technology companies founded in the United States between 1995 and 2005.

Through this bill individuals who earn a Master’s or other postgraduate degree in STEM fields from American universities can apply for Legal Permanent Resident status. This bill also changes our current visa system from one based on arbitrary numbers to one that is market based and understands the needs of U.S. employers.

The Federal Government currently spends nearly $18 billion on immigration enforcement every year; more than the combined budgets of all other federal law enforcement agencies.

o U.S. Border Patrol apprehension of foreign nationals between ports of entry fell to a 40-year low of 327,577 in FY2011; and

o Removals grew from 30,000 in 1990 to more than 391,000 in FY2011.

This bill goes even further by allocating up to $6.5 billion additional dollars for border security. And it requires a biometric exit system to be in place at the 10 largest international airports in the United States within two years, and 20 additional airports within six years.

It is not just about spending more money at the border, but about being strategic in how and where we spend our resources.

One of the key issues that we must address is to hold employers accountable and ensure that we have an effective employment verification system in place.

As of May more than 400,000 employers registered for e-verify. This bill will mandate that all employers use a verification system that ensures all employees are legally authorized to work in the United States, and fine companies that employ undocumented immigrants.

The State Department is currently processing visas for Filipino siblings of U.S. citizens who submitted their visa applications 24 years ago. I ask my colleagues to imagine if you had to wait over 24 years to see your family members.

This bill provides sufficient visas to erase the current backlog of family and employment-based visa applicants in the next 7 years, starting in 2015.

Lastly, and probably one of the most essential pieces of this bill – is how we deal with future flow of immigrants wanting to come to this country. This bill creates a future immigration framework that is premised on a merit-based points system.

The bill:

o Establishes a new non-immigrant agricultural worker visa, and sets forth provisions relating to the integration of new immigrants; and

o Includes provisions to deal with the present and future workforce needs of the American agriculture industry, while protecting workers from being displaced or otherwise adversely affected by foreign workers.

In closing, I welcome this debate. English settlers who landed at Jamestown, Virginia in 1607 helped begin our nation’s great history as an immigrant nation. And Virginian Thomas Jefferson, as he wrote the Declaration of Independence, expressed his clear understanding that immigration was a positive force for our nation.

Today, Virginia has the ninth-largest immigrant population in the country, with over 903,000 foreign-born residents. Immigrants contribute greatly to the richness of our Commonwealth.

I hope that we will start a new chapter and send a strong message to the world that we are a country of laws but also of fairness and equality.

Let’s not repeat the mistakes of the past but let’s also remember that the perfect should not be the enemy of the good. Finding a perfect solution should not stand in the way of progress.

Let’s show this country and the world that this is not a Republican bill and it is not a Democratic bill but it is a strong bipartisan bill. It is time that we pass comprehensive immigration reform. Thank you.

4 Senate Democrats Who Could Vote Against Immigration Reform

The Senate will hold its first procedural votes on the Gang of Eight immigration reform bill this week. For the legislation to avoid a potential filibuster, supporters will need 60 senators to back the bill.

"We got virtually every Democrat. We may miss or lose a handful," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on Univision's "Al Punto" this Sunday. "We'll get more than 90 percent of the Democrats. All we need is a little help from the Republicans."

Here are a few Democrats who could vote against reform, based on background from groups in favor of the bill

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)
Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.)
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.)
Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.)

They keep saying they will legalize 10 million , but with chain "family reunification" the number is more like 30 million (or more!)

Senate Debates Immigration Reform Bill
Washington, DC
Wednesday, June 12, 2013

The Senate returns Wednesday to continue debating proposed changes to a comprehensive immigration measure. Some of the amendments being proposed are aimed at strengthening the bill's border security language. The bipartisan immigration bill proposes to create a conditional path to citizenship for most of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States. It also aims to crack down on the hiring of illegal workers and places caps on visas for high-skilled workers.

Immigration Bill Gives 30 Million Illegal Immigrants Legal Status Within 10 Years
May 15, 2013
By JAVIER MANJARRES

The leading opposing voice in the U.S. Senate against the ‘Gang of Eight’ immigration reform bill, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, has outlined that the bill as it is written, “will give 30 million, and probably more, green cards or permanent status” to illegal immigrants over the next 10 years.

Sessions contends that this 30 million does not include the “family-based and chain-based migration where caps have been removed,” which suggests that there could be an influx of more than 30 million illegal immigrants  that will be eligible for permanent status.

What is more disturbing is that Sessions says that his colleagues in the Senate have told him not to count the 11 million already here against that 30 million number.

Considering that no there is no way to track or count  how many illegal immigrants are actually residing in the United States, how could anyone say for certain that there are 11 million, 15 million, or more illegal immigrants residing here.?

Immigration reform: When is family reunification also 'chain migration'?

Immigration reform legislation promises expedited reunification for millions of families awaiting visas, but critics caution that the overhaul could also produce uncontrolled 'chain migration.'

By David Grant, Staff writer / May 6, 2013

The bipartisan immigration reform legislation being debated in the US Senate would have a massive effect on families split by America's current immigration system, with proponents cheering the reunification of husbands with wives and children with parents, while detractors see only a surge in what they call "chain migration" that would bring many new, low-skilled workers into the country
...
A proposed Senate bill, however, would revamp how the American immigration system deals with families like the Paxtons and millions more separated by long wait times for certain family visas or young undocumented Americans who have seen parents and other family members deported at record levels under the Obama administration.

The proposed Senate bill offers several avenues for families who have been separated to be brought back together.

...

Another provision ensures that some families aren’t split apart in the first place. Legal permanent residents, also known as green card holders, will be allowed to bring spouses and children into the US with them immediately. It would also allow some temporary workers to enter the US with their children and spouses
...
The groups of people with expedited tracks to US permanent residency under the Senate legislation – 4.5 million people in family backlogs, an estimated 1 million to 2 million DREAMers, and 800,000 farm workers, along with new petitions from current US citizens and permanent residents – add up to millions of new immigrants, and especially lesser-skilled immigrants, over the next decade

This would be a huge increase in family migration. In net, you’re going to have a big increase there, and it’s changing the long-established law that had limits on the amount of chain migration that might occur,” said Sen. Jeff Sessions (R) of Alabama, a leading opponent of the Senate bill, in a call with reporters on Friday.

Immigration Bill Full of Harmful Provisions
Expert: like Obamacare, ‘Gang of Eight’ bill full of surprises
...
McCaughey, author of Beating Obamacare, warned that much like the Obamacare bill, the immigration bill contains many provisions no one is aware of or talking about.

She rejected the notion that immigration reform requires a comprehensive bill. “A comprehensive bill is an unread bill,” she said, adding that Congress should instead pass individual bills focusing on singular issues that congressman will actually read.

...
McCaughey also expressed concerns that the cost of the immigration bill has not been fully calculated. Making welfare benefits available to illegal immigrants could cost taxpayers $9,000 per recipient. Additionally, the bill could increase the cost of Obamacare by $100 billion
...
McCaughey said the most alarming provision is a section that creates a nonprofit called United States Citizenship, which will develop “citizen preparation” programs to teach immigrants about American history, voting, and the Constitution. The nonprofit will be run by national community organizers and will receive permanent government funding.

The federal Office of Immigration has previously done this job.

This nonprofit would be allowed to rewrite American history with whatever slant they want without public scrutiny, McCaughey said. The goal of this provision is to register more Democratic voters, she said.

Jeb Bush: U.S. economy needs immigrants because they’re ‘more fertile’
By Aaron Blake, Published: June 14, 2013 at 10:11 am

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”

“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Jeb Bush to push immigration reform

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/06/will-republicans-listen-to-jeb-bush-about-immigration-reform/
Will Republicans Listen to Jeb Bush About Immigration Reform?
6/13/13

Jeb Bush is trying his best to convince his fellow Republicans that immigration reform is good for the party, despite concerns among some that there is little to gain politically from allowing a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

“It’s always: immigrants don’t like Republicans. Why? Why do we assume that?” Bush lamented today at a Bipartisan Policy Center event on immigration. “Why do we assume it’s always going to be that way because it currently is that way?”

Bush is ardently making the case that Hispanic and Asian American voting patterns, which currently favor Democrats, won’t always be that way if Republicans do something about it.

According to the former Florida governor, the answer lies in creating a more optimistic, aspirational message that resonates more with recent immigrants.

“So I would argue that Republicans win when we are positive and hopeful and aspriational. And we draw people towards our cause when we do that,” Bush said. “If we just play the game that we’re for less government … that message is not aspirational, it’s not very hopeful, it’s not particularly optimistic, and we could lose.”

But if Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s warnings are any indication—that immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship will mean the end of the Republican Party—Jeb Bush has a lot of convincing to do.

“This is President Obama’s number one political agenda because he knows we will never again have a Republican president ever if amnesty goes into effect,”  Bachmann told conservative website World Net Daily this week. “We will perpetually have a progressive liberal president, probably a Democrat and we will probably see the House of Representatives go into Democrat hands and the Senate will stay in Democrat hands.”

“So you’ll have a permanent liberal progressive Democrat class. And you will never again be able to see the country go back to its constitutional foundation. That’s what is at risk right now,” the Minnesota Republican continued.

Bush, who said he supports the Senate’s immigration reform plan, which prescribes a 13-year pathway to citizenship, seems to believe that cooler heads will prevail among Republicans and that the party stands a chance of winning over future recent immigrant voters.

“My guess is that the messaging will change and that we could garner significant support amongst immigrants from Africa, from Asia, from Latin America,” Bush said.

In the House, Bachmann is working hard to raise the alarm that the opposite is true. She, along with Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), are also circulating a petition this week calling for a special conference meeting in the House that would force additional debate on an immigration bill, her office confirmed to ABC News.

It’s unclear how many House Republicans will sign the petition, but it could be an indication of how steep the climb toward a comprehensive bill– especially one with a pathway to citizenship–will be in the House.

Marco Rubio’s brother in law was indicted for drug trafficking and the death and dismemberment of a federal informant.  However, we are trying to ascertain if his brother in law was a legal permanent resident at the time of this conviction.

Since Marco Rubio has taken an enforcement only stance on immigration (he supports Arizona’s unConstitutional SB 1070 law, is against the DREAM Act and now wants to embrace Lamar Smith’s enforcement only policies via the national e-verify program), would he have been in favor of deporting his sister’s husband?

His brother-in-law was released on good behavior.  GOOD BEHAVIOR?  Being part of chopping up a federal informant’s body is okay as long as you behave in prison will get you out early?!  Keep in mind Marco Rubio’s brother in law only served 12 years, not the 25 he was sentenced.  Where are the Republicans at who are “tough on criminals”?  Where are the Republican death penalty supporters at on this issue?  Anyone?  Bueller….

Catholic anger at Murdoch's papal knighthood

Rupert Murdoch, left, and Cardinal Edward Egan at the Alfred E Smith fundraising dinner in New York

The Roman Catholic church is receiving complaints from worshippers following news that Rupert Murdoch has been awarded a papal knighthood from Pope John Paul II.

Senior Catholics are said to have been "mystified and astonished" when they heard that the purveyor of newspaper sex, scandal and nudity was made a Knight Commander of St Gregory at a ceremony in Los Angeles last month.

News of the award was kept out of Mr Murdoch's British titles - the Sun, the Times, the Sunday Times and the News of the World - at his request, although it is provoking outrage in the religious media and in Ireland, where many Catholics have reacted with anger that Mr Murdoch, who is not a Catholic, appears to have been honoured purely for donating large sums of money to the church. He and his wife, Anna, who is a Catholic, are known in Los Angeles as large contributors to the Archdiocesan Education Foundation, although specific amounts are not known.

The award was made by the Pope at the suggestion of Cardinal Archbishop Roger Mahony of Los Angeles. His recommendation was vetted by the Secretariat of State at the Vatican before being given the approval of the pontiff.

The knighthood is bestowed upon people of "unblemished character". It was presented by the Cardinal at St Francis De Sales Church in Los Angeles on 11 January. Other recipients included Bob Hope and Roy Disney, of the Walt Disney empire

Romanizing America through Illegal Immigration
By Pastor Ralph Ovadal, April 10, 2006

...
The pope, along with the  Reconquista cadre, views South, Central, and North Americas as being one "from Argentina to Alaska." On several occasions, Pope John Paul II has "consecrated" this "America" to "Our Lady of Guadalupe."

The Mexican people streaming across America's porous southern border are Roman Catholics. It is in the interest of the Vatican to establish as many Roman Catholics as possible in the United States of America. The pope and his partners in spiritual crime care little how the job is done—whether illegally or legally—just so it is done

The Roman Catholic Church is determined to turn Protestant America into a Roman Catholic country, and her best bet to do that is to bring as many Catholics into our nation as possible.

More traitors step on board the TRAIN TO HELL.

Hey Miss Lindsey, When you traitors pass this, your Republican Party is doomed.

Miss Lindsey Graham predicts 'breakthrough' passage of immigration bill with over '70 votes'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday predicted overwhelming congressional passage of an immigration reform bill.

“I think we are going to have a political breakthrough, that Congress is going to pass immigration reform,” Graham said on NBC's Meet the Press.

He said the Senate will give the reform bill — which currently has a path to citizenship for the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants — overwhelming support.
“I think we are going to get plus 70 votes,” he said. “I've never been more optimistic about it.”

Graham said passing the bill is a political necessity for the GOP.

“If we don't pass immigration reform, if we don't get it off the table in a reasonable, practical way, it doesn't matter who we run in 2016,” he said. “We're in a demographic death spiral as a party.

Senate set to vote on border fence amendment in immigration bill
By Stephen Dinan
Washington Times
June 18, 2013

A  week into the immigration debate, the Senate has finally set up showdowns Tuesday afternoon on some of the biggest questions, including whether to build the full 700-mile fence Congress approved seven years ago, but never followed through on.

Sen. John Thune, South Dakota Republican, has offered an amendment that would require 350 miles of two-tier border fencing be built before illegal immigrants can gain legal status, and for another 350 miles to be built before they can get green cards
...
the border now has 651 miles of barriers, and only 352 miles of that is an actual fence to keep pedestrians out. The other 299 miles are vehicle blockades that still allow wildlife, and people, to cross unhindered
...
Senators will also vote Tuesday on three other amendments: One would expand immigration benefits for adoptees, another would add Indian tribe representatives to a border oversight panel, and a third would stop any legalization until the government completes a biometric entry-exit system that Congress first demanded in 1996, but which is still undone.

CBO: Senate Immigration Bill Would Increase Unemployment Rate, Decrease Wages
By: Sean Davis | June 19, 2013

A new study by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found that a key Senate bill to increase immigration to the U.S. would increase the unemployment rate and decrease the average wage earned by American workers. The report, which was released yesterday, analyzed both the federal budget and the economic impacts of S. 744, an expansive immigration plan introduced by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

“During the next several years,” the study found, “the unemployment rate would be slightly higher than it otherwise would be and average wages would be slightly lower.”
...
Per capita GNP would be less than 1 percent lower than under current law through 2031 because the increase in the population would be greater, proportionately, than the increase in output,” the study found. “After 2031, however, the opposite would be true.”

CBO: Senate bill still allows illegal immigration  [ Bill will not end illegal immigration]
By ERICA WERNER and DAVID ESPO | Associated Press – Wed, Jun 19, 2013

WASHINGTON (AP) — Illegal immigration into the United States would decrease by only 25 percent under a far-reaching Senate immigration bill, according to an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office that also finds the measure reduces federal deficits by billions.
...

"Unauthorized residents would find it harder both to enter the country and to find employment while unauthorized. However, other aspects of the bill would probably increase the number of unauthorized residents — in particular, people overstaying their visas issued under the new programs for temporary workers," the CBO report said, adding that the net annual flow of unauthorized residents would decrease by about 25 percent compared to current law.

Senators reach border deal, smoothing path to immigration overhaul
By Kasie Hunt and Carrie Dann , NBC News

A bipartisan group of senators have reached an agreement to strengthen border security in the Senate's immigration bill, a breakthrough that could pave the way for a significant number of GOP senators to support the comprehensive legislation.
...
the agreement would double the size of the border patrol and require 700 miles of border fencing
...
The senators involved -- Republicans John Hoeven and Bob Corker, who have been working with Gang of Eight members Sens. Chuck Schumer, Bob Menendez, John McCain and Lindsey Graham -- have dubbed it the "border surge" plan; they're preparing a Thursday announcement.
...
The additional provisions will come with a price tag. Aides estimate that the doubling of the border patrol agents -- just one piece of the "border surge" -- will add about $30 billion to the overall cost of the bill.
...
The most vigorous opponents of the compromise bill maintain that the Hoeven-Corker measure still does not do enough to prevent illegal immigration. The political arm of the Heritage Foundation, led by former Sen. Jim DeMint, says it opposes the amendment because it "fails to take a security-first approach," and immigration limitation group NumbersUSA is urging its members to lobby against the measure.

Senate shoots down Rand Paul's immigration reform amendment
Published: June 19, 2013 at 6:52 PM

WASHINGTON, June 19 (UPI) -- The Senate Wednesday shot down Rand Paul's amendment to the U.S. immigration reform bill that would have tied immigrants' legal status to border security. The Kentucky Republican's "Trust but Verify" measure was tabled on a 61-37 vote, The Hill reported.
...

The amendment would have required Congress to vote on whether border security measures were being enforced before immigrants would be granted legal status, the Washington publication said. The measure also would have required completion of a border fence in five years and provided that no national identification card system be established.
...
The Strengthen and Fortify Enforcement Act, or SAFE Act, is one of several bills Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said the committee will send to the House floor in the coming weeks. He has said he prefers to tackle immigration reform with a series of smaller bills rather than one sweeping bill as the Senate is doing.

They need more immigration so the cartels can have more troops in our country...

US under siege by Mexican gangs and drug cartels
October 6th 2011

During the past two years the state of Texas has become increasingly threatened by the  spread of Mexican cartel organized crime. The threat reflects a change in the strategic intent of the cartels to move their operations into the United States.

In effect, the cartels  seek to create a “sanitary zone” inside the Texas border — one county deep — that will  provide sanctuary from Mexican law enforcement and, at the same time, enable the cartels to transform Texas’ border counties into narcotics transshipment points for continued  transport and distribution into the continental United States. To achieve their objectives the  cartels are relying increasingly on organized gangs to provide expendable and  unaccountable manpower to do their dirty work. These gangs are recruited on the streets of  Texas cities and inside Texas prisons by top-tier gangs who work in conjunction with the cartels.

There Are 1.4 MILLION Gang Members In The United States And More Pour Into The Country Every Single Day
By Michael, on January 20th, 2012

A vast army of heavily armed criminals has embedded itself in every major city in the United States.  In fact, nearly every community in America is now affected by these thugs.  Drugs, theft and brutal violence are all part of the every day lifestyle of the members of this army.  They aggressively recruit our young people and floods of illegal immigrants are joining their ranks.
...
The FBI tells us that there are now 1.4 million gang members involved in the 33,000 different gangs that are active inside the United States.  The number of gang members in the U.S. has increased by 40 percent since 2009.  Just think about that.  That is absolutely astounding.

Just since 2009, the number of gang members has increased by 40 percent.  The FBI says that 48 percent of all violent crime in this country can be directly traced to gangs and that this is a national crisis that is progressively getting worse

Unfortunately, the federal government refuses to secure our borders and is allowing new waves of illegal immigrants to enter the United States every single day.

see: http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/2011-national-gang-threat-assessment-issued

...
Back in the year 2000, more than 50 percent of all Americans teens had a job.  This past summer, only 29.6% of all American teens had a job.
When you have lots of teens and young adults sitting around with nothing but time on their hands, bad things are prone to happen.
As the family unit continues to decline in America, young people are looking for a sense of belonging.  For many youths, a gang becomes a new “family” for them. But unfortunately, these new “families” do not exactly teach “family values”.  Instead, they teach our young people about how to be brutal and violent.
...
A few months ago, I wrote about how the Obama administration has announced that there will now be a case-by-case review of all deportation cases involving illegal immigrants

Those involving “criminals” will be prioritized and almost all the rest will be thrown out. Yes, you read that correctly.

If you are an illegal immigrant and you have not been convicted of a crime that means that you almost certainly get to stay in this country.
So that is basically a big green light for even larger waves of illegal immigrants to enter this country. That means that the ranks of the gangs will swell even more.

The chaotic drug war that is going on in northern Mexico has spread into many areas of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.  With each passing day, the gangs that are embedded in all of our major cities are getting stronger.   They are a ticking time bomb that eventually will go off.

One day, when mass civil unrest erupts in the United States, the gangs will have a field day.  Given the opportunity, most gangs will gleefully indulge in brutal violence, looting, arson, rape and mindless property destruction.

Sadly, this all could have been avoided.

Instead of strip-searching old women at airports, this is what we should have been dedicating our law enforcement resources to.

Instead of spending billions of dollars spying on the American people, the federal government should have spent billions of dollars on securing our borders.

Unfortunately, we made the wrong choices as a nation and so now we are going to pay the price.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole ; He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. - Job 5

Ron Paul yesterday (6-19-2013) announced that he would not vote for this Immigration bill (if he were still in Congress).

However, Rand Paul has said he supports the bill.
