Care to fill us in why you think  the decline is happening pre-PIW ?

I will volunteer my thoughts quite  willingly  if asked.  

Its the sign-up process for new members.

It is absolutely swamped with bogus spambots trying to sign-up to the forum. The queue is typically 2,000 + accounts waiting for approval.

The forum in the past always had plenty of people both leaving and joining. Incidentally the reason most people leave is the aggressive troll like personal attacks, normal people want intelligent conversant polite exchange of ideas.

Why don't they use some sort of Captcha mechanism during the sign-up process to eliminate the bots?

Because the powers that be refuse to upgrade the forum software.

Perhaps they should read this and take the hint

SMF 1.0 was released to the world in December 2004 and has been supported for more than eight years.

These days, the SMF 1.0.x line is very outdated, even though it still receives security patches. Hardly any sites still use it, and we rarely if ever receive support requests for it. Since it is almost completely irrelevant to SMF users these days, we have decided to recognize that it has reached the end of its working life, and put our effort towards other things that are more useful to our users.

WTF - didn't they learn a few years ago when this forum was hacked several time because the latest version of the software (with security patches) hadn't been installed?

It's very easy to upgrade SMF software.

I just don't get it...

Yes pretty much.  It takes a while to get use to but I figured it out, and if I can--anyone can.

Well that is what they did to the previous offical sister site propagandamatrix forum ( edited / run by Watson ). No warning, No thank you, No Godbye, it just disappeared. All that was left was a redirect to this forum.

Now running this place requires resources, in terms of high capacity server and IT staff. If you recall some of the problems, such as the size of the database overloading the server, and the numerous hacker attacks... we have to realise that it costs quiet a bit for infowars to run this forum.

Bottom line, is it is up to all of us to make this place successful.

I can understand them letting propagandamatrix go as all it was, was basically a mirror of people posting the same content. It didn't add any value except for having a place to post when this forum would temporarily take a dump. To spend the extra money on a server and bandwidth with no return on investment and it's a no brainier to get rid of it.

And if you watch the websites, and listen to Alex, after reading this forum first, you will see the flow of information.

And if I were a betting man I would think Alex is pimping the Social site because he's about to make the Live version a pay for site.

On that same note I wouldn't mind adding a $1 to my monthly PPTv subscription to help offset some of the costs of running this forum. It would be a better site if it were a private forum. And I suspect it may slow down the trolls and perhaps add another level of security. If people aren't PPTv members then I'm sure they could find a $1 a month to  post here and get their information before it hits the website.

Most sites, people keep going back for the social interaction, and nothing against the people here, they're great, I've been posting here since 2007, but it's the content that keeps me coming back.

I'll say it again because I don't think it could be said enough, to think the Social Network can some how supplant this forum would be a big mistake.

My fear is that the infowars team do intend to simply let this forum die, by not upgrading the software and letting the volume of traffic here fall off, to replace it with the social networking site. Which I think would be a big mistake.

I must say that the notion of having the forum private, and available only to paying subscribers of PrisonPlanetTV does have a certain appeal.

So would anyone offer an opinion, why the propaganda matrix forum was deleted with out warning to those whom were its only active members. There seems to be a pattern here, first the old social site and the PM FORUM. Dare I say its more a corporation than a movement?  Meaning, IMO, its shows total disrespect to those whom have been loyal to AJ  / AJ INC to the point of nausea.

I got the best developer I know on board.  I should be finishing the design in the next week or so.  Trying to launch infosalvo and infosolace on September 11th, 2012.

I have no idea, but I think creating more social sites is going to make it even worse for this forum...

As for social networks, well, we aint facebook, wichh is def nwo,
12160 social similar to here with additions of personalizes pages, like adding tunes ect to a  profile -  not much dif, a way to meet other like minded folks.

I liked it but stopped using it because of how slow it loads... every other website including infowars loads waaaay faster, broadband standard guys, not dial up...

you know like the google tracker, that shouldn't be there, in an ideal world.

plus the real time updater script thing hangs.
WP just sucks.

I meant, the whole idea of a site where you post your private info, and all the circus that goes with it, seems to be part of the post-WW2 Masonic gay culture.
