Peter Beter, Russian Cosmosphere wars with US?

Over the years I have kept running into material written by Dr. Peter Beter, back in the '70s. Only a few outlets have carried him, it seems. (The main one which most people here would consider pretty wacky -- a newspaper that claims to be "channeled" from an extraterrestrial space ship commander.)

Yet, his material is so detailed, it piques curiosity. Beter claims, among other things, that the Russians beat the U.S. in weaponizing space back in the '70s, with a large fleet of "cosmospheres" armed with advanced weapons. He also claims the U.S. had a plan to attack Russia in the early '80s, but this was foiled because the Russian cosmospheres kept blasting down U.S. spy satellites necessary for targeting. Also, apparently it was the Russians who blasted Challenger out of the sky. Anybody heard of/know about the validity of this source?
