Daily Kos Readers Reject Daily Kos Founder, Front-Page Diarists, According to Online Reader Poll
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5570

Meanwhile...Over at The Daily Kos, the world's largest and most powerful supposedly-Progressive blog, its founder and its front-page diarists would seem to be as out of touch with their own readership as the Democratic Party seems to be with their constituency, if the results from the following online poll running over there today (results as of 3:00pm PT today), offers any indication...

You'll recall that previously, with no "extraordinary evidence" for the "extraordinary claim" that Hillary Clinton won the NH Primary (maybe she did, maybe she didn't, 80% of the ballots were never counted or verified by anybody, so who knows?), Kos and his designated lead authors threatened readers with permanent banishment for discussing the serious concerns about "faith-based" elections, such as the one that took place last week in New Hampshire.

Updated for Kossacks in denial: Wrote Kos himself, in comments on this recent thread...
"Anyone who persists with this crap is engaging in unsupported conspiracy theories and violating site policy, a bannable offense."

I'll note that none of the diarists over there previously bashing The BRAD BLOG, by making claims, without evidence, about "claims" they claim we claimed, bothered to link up --- or even answer to --- our post disputing those claims with actual evidence to the contrary.

Looks like these guys would fit in very nicely with today's Democratic Congress. Keep up the bad work, fellas. It's only your democracy at stake.

Controversial Diary Topics
http://dkosopedia.com/wiki/DailyKos_FAQ#Controversial_Diary_Topics
Diaries on certain topics are likely to generate angry responses. Most of these topics fall under the general heading of "conspiracy theories", e.g., "JFK was killed by Martians". The rule for posting such diaries is "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". The more extreme the claim, the higher the burden of proof that commenters will demand. If you can't provide evidence to back up your claim, it is best not to post the diary. This guideline also applies to recommending extraordinary-claims diaries. If a diary makes an extreme claim with little or no evidence to back up that claim, it shouldn't be recommended, no matter what that claim is.

Addendum

Some people have been confused by the above discussion. Let me make it perfectly plain. Diaries advancing 'Conspiracy Theories' are subject to ridicule and derision from the community at the very least. Repeat offenders can and will be banned. Yes, this does include 'controlled demolition' of WTC 7.
Here is what kos has to say-
The conspiracists by kos

Fri Jul 08, 2005

Today I did something I've never done before (not even during the Fraudster mess), and wish I'd never had to do.

I made a mass banning of people perpetuating a series of bizarre, off-the-wall, unsupported and frankly embarassing conspiracy theories.

I have a high tolerance level for material I deem appropriate for this site, but one thing I REFUSE to allow is bullshit conspiracy theories. You know the ones -- Bush and Blair conspired to bomb London in order to take the heat off their respective political problems. I can't imagine what f**king world these people live in, but it sure ain't the Reality Based Community.

So I banned these people, and those that have been recommending diaries like it. And I will continue to do so until the purge is complete, and make no mistake -- this is a purge.

This is a reality-based community. Those who wish to live outside it should find a new home. This isn't it.

Update: I've been reinstating some of the banned accounts as they email me. Some people wondered why there wasn't any warning. There have been warnings from others -- repeated pleadings for people to ground themselves in reality.

It's telling that I have NEVER done something like this before. Because this has been an extreme situation. This isn't about disagreeing with what people are saying. If that was the case, everyone would've been banned by now. The myth of the "echo chamber" is just that. A myth.

But as for warnings, well, this has been my warning. I wanted it clear that I was serious, and I think that has come through. I am reinstating those who ask to be reinstated. But the message has been sent.

Earlier when I first saw this the link/top post at Kos was this....

New Hampshire Recount Continues: One Big Vote Anomaly So Far! w/poll
by rjones2818
Fri Jan 18, 2008 at 04:20:10 AM PST

The New Hampshire recount is continuing.  The Democratic recount, paid for by the Dennis Kucinich campagin, is further along than the Republican recount.  So far, it looks as though the counting was pretty good, although there are changes in almost all of the wards counted.

    * rjones2818's diary :: ::
*

The big news vote wise on day 2 is Manchester Ward 5.  For the big three, there is a substantial change in the votes, with all three losing a fair number of votes:

    Candiate     Original count    Recount

    Obama             404           365
    Clinton           683           619
    Edwards           255           217

This is not enough to change the results, but for Obama it's a 9%+ change, Clinton just over 9% change and for Edwards it's an 8/5% change.
Official NH SOS count.  Interestingly enough, the fewer votes seem not to have gone to any of the other candidates.

Bradblog is reporting that New Hampshire media is reporting no problems in voting.

BlackBoxVoting is reporting, via OpEdNews, that there were slit ballot holding boxes (yes, take it for what you will).

Here's a link to an article on Russ Holt's renewed call for paper ballots:
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/...

Here's a link to the Manchester Union Leader on Ward 5: http://unionleader.com/...

So, so far, there doesn't seem to be any large scale vote hijacking, which is good.  There's the one obvious vote anomaly, though most wards seem to have only a few votes here and there.

If you wish to support the recount, you can go to the Kucinich campaign's website to donate, or you can go to ActBlue and donate directly for the recount!

As always, now more than ever,

Go Dennis!

Common sense is not so common.

I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
