What`s going on here? Sounds like something the feds do when one of their own is going to rat them out.

BURBANK, Calif. –  Law enforcement officers in Southern California have launched a massive search in rugged mountain terrain for a missing FBI agent who was said to be despondent and possibly suicidal.

About 100 FBI agents, 40 sheriff's department rescuers and a dozen local police officers participated in the search for Los Angeles-based Special Agent Stephen Ivens, who remained missing late Saturday. He was described as an avid hiker and runner.

FBI Special Agent Steve Gomez said dogs had tracked Ivens' scent toward the rugged Verdugo Mountains, east of Burbank, but searchers were fanning out throughout Los Angeles County.

Ivens, 35, was last seen by family members Thursday evening, KABC-TV reported. He left his Burbank home the next morning on foot and had not been seen since, FBI officials said at a news conference.

Ivens was distraught and authorities fear he may have harmed himself, according to KABC-TV. Officials did not say why Ivens was distraught.

A search of his home did not turn up his handgun and police believe he may have taken it with him.

Ivens was described by FBI colleagues as well liked. Married with a 1-year-old child, he has been working for the FBI for the past three years in the national security area. Prior to that, he worked as a Los Angeles police officer for eight years.

Gomez told reporters that foul play was not suspected and Ivens was not believed to pose a threat to others.

"Agent Stephen Ivens work was secret,he worked on counter terrorism matters"

Maybe a upcoming false flag wasn`t agreeing with his conscience.

I wouldn't put it past a FBI or CIA agent to become a double agent with the idea of making millions of dollars telling government secrets.

Sketchy as allways.
He was well liked and personable, yet they claim he was dispondent and a possible suicider. A slight contradiction from the word go.
Being on the inside can be a blessing or a curse it all depends on the persons personell makeup (soul).
It appears the FBI is on a manhunt, 100 agents in the field. Either its showtime and this guy is part of the play, or he is with info the big dogs don't public.
If is the latter he will be suicided.

Ever notice how those who know the least about al-Qaeda's lifelong and continuing role as appendage of the CIA tend to know it loudest?

If you pick anyone at random at your local American Legion or VFW and try calmly explaining this to him, you'll see (or rather hear) exactly what I mean.

What Caused FBI Agent Stephen Ivens` Despondency and His Subsequent Flight?
http://thesop.org/story/20120513/what-caused-fbi-agent-stephen-ivens-despondency-and-his-subsequent-flight.html

Published:May 13th, 2012 12:21 EST
By John G. Kays

FBI agent Stephen Ivens, 35, takes off from his Burbank home on Friday, apparently distraught about some undetermined issue (at this point). The FBI and the Los Angeles County Sheriff`s Department are engaged in a massive manhunt (the largest in 20 years) for this disconcerted FBI agent Stephen Ivens, who is possibly suicidal (and is carrying his handgun with him). This is very serious business, and yet a spokesman for the FBI Steve Gomez) is keeping the tone gentle to soften the seriousness of what`s behind all of this.

The search for this rogue agent, from what I`ve read in reliable articles, is mainly in the Verdugo Mountains; agent Ivens is said to be an outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking. The search is being conducted in other areas as well, such as Toluca Lake, North Hollywood, Studio City, and the Sherman Oaks area (Studio City Patch - Missing Despondent FBI Agent Sought in Hills, Have You Seen Him? by Mike Szymanski). My take from this information provided as to the whereabouts of Stephen Ivens, is that he could be just about anywhere imaginable.

While this unusual disappearance of what appears to be a very important FBI agent (in the hierarchy of this federal law enforcement institution) is downplayed by these highly skilled media experts (the spokespersons), I`m seeing past this, or reading between the lines (you might say). A lightbulb just came on in my mind! This is extremely serious; is our national security at stake? Has it somehow been compromised? Well, I`m not convinced of that, but I sense nonetheless, something BIG is going down here!

If you`re anything like me, the more they say we can`t know what it is that Stephen Ivens was working on, the more our curiosity is piqued, and the more we want to know what it is. We hear he was involved in national security, but that is general, what type of national security? Yea, the more they try to keep it a secret, by publicly promulgating it`s Top Secret (which has it`s own intrinsic twist of irony to it), the more the info-hungry instincts of a news reporter (in me) kick in, in a troubling way.

Okay, so Steve Gomez let slip just a morsel more of coveted data when speaking to the cameras. As we know, Ivens was engaged in national security matters, but then he got more specific, it`s  `counterterrorism matters`. So we`re kind of getting at it, but not exactly at it. So, what compromised Mister Ivens? Did he make a mistake when working in the field? Why is he so down on himself? Was it possibly personal? I sense it was work related (obviously, I`m speculating).

We also hear, Ivens had been with the FBI for 3 years and had formerly been a Los Angeles police officer for 8 years. His record in law enforcement appears to be impeccable (on the surface). I`m sure reporters will be giving this issue a more thorough probing over the next few days. Not that they will be capable of compromising the data banks of the FBI, since this agent was working in sensitive areas, that are not subject to any open-records type of policy.

And so we are forced to read the tea leaves of what may have happened to Stephen Ivens. We suspect he must be a thick skinned individual, or else he would never have gotten this all important job in national security, encompassing counterterrorism matters. This is what raises more red flags. Who got to him? How did they get to him? Why? Did he believe he`d made a grievous error in the field, or that he failed his country somehow? I will say, the more they try to subdue or mute the intensity of this story, the more intense it comes across to millions of those watching!

Wife of Missing Burbank FBI Agent Implores Public for Help
He would "never hurt" anyone, Stephen Ivens' wife said in a statement

The wife of a missing FBI agent issued an emotional statement calling for him to come home Tuesday, a day after authorities called off the search for him in the Verdugo Mountains above Burbank.

The agent, 35-year-old Stephen Ivens, has been missing from his home in the 1700 block of Scott Road in Burbank since Thursday evening. An avid hiker, Ivens was thought to have ventured into the nearby hills after leaving home distraught.

In an open letter sent to the media Tuesday, his wife Thea Ivens implored the public to contact Burbank police with any information. "He would never hurt or be a risk to anyone," she wrote.

"Steve, if you are out there listening right now, your wife wants to let you know, 'Babe, we are in this together for better or for worse. I love you, no matter what happens.' Your child wants you to know, 'Daddy’s work? Daddy home?'" read the statement, referring to the couple's 1-year-old son.

"Your mother wants you to know, 'I love you, I need you and come home wherever that home is because I need you back.' Please remember that we love you, we miss you and let us know that you are O.K.," it continued.

The family created a Facebook page called "Let's Bring Steve Home."

More than 100 FBI agents, along with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies and Burbank police officers, had combed the Verdugo Mountains for Ivens but found no sign of him.

Capt. Denis Cremins of the Burbank Police Department said that investigators had received many tips from members of the public who thought they had seen Ivens, but none had panned out. Though the mountain search has been called off, the quest to find Ivens continues, police said.

Ivens' service weapon is missing, and authorities consider it likely the pistol is with him.

"As far as motivation, we don't know. Our main focus right now is finding him. The why's can be addressed later on," Cremins said at a Tuesday press conference. "Time is of the essence."

Authorities said Ivens was not a harm to the public, but urged anyone who spots him to contact police rather than to approach him. Burbank police can be reached at 818-238-3000.

Neighbor Says Missing FBI Agent Seemed Dazed

(NewsCore) - A neighbor who saw a missing California FBI agent the day before he disappeared said he was apparently dazed and out of sorts, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

Stephen Ivens, 35, was last seen by his family last Thursday. He was reported missing from his Burbank home the following day.

Ivens is believed to be despondent and possibly suicidal, although the FBI would not elaborate on why.

Sharon Goewert, who lives a few blocks away from Ivens' home, told the Los Angeles Times that she saw him outside Thursday night in Burbank. She said he was staggering on the sidewalk and appeared to be dazed.

Goewert said she told the FBI about her encounter with Ivens.

A handgun Ivens normally kept in his home was unaccounted for. Police said he was not considered a danger to anyone but himself, but warned the public not to approach him and to contact authorities if they see him.

Law enforcement officials have been searching for Ivens in the area around his home, as well as the Verdugo Mountains in Los Angeles County, a few miles north of Burbank.

FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said Ivens was a reliable three-year-veteran of the agency and not facing any disciplinary action, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Sketchy, he seemed dazed, he was a good man wouldn't hurt anyone, pleasant personality, impeccable 8 yrs prior to FBI career, on the inside, high echelon, anti terrorism.
Similar scenario, suicided, or fell of a cliff, got bit by a rattlesnake, had a heart attack, fell into the rabbit hole or Venus and Jupiter were in alignment and the force carried him into he void.
100 field agents were chasing this guy along with local and state police, forestry rangers, bloodhounds and a few eagle sattelites.
Ya just have to wonder why this is sketchy!

A bizarre Foreign Ministry report circulating in the Kremlin today states that this Friday past (11 May) Russian Envoy Vladimir Vinokurov, the Consulate General of San Francisco, was approached near his hotel room during a visit to Los Angles by an agent of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indentifying himself as Stephen Ivens [photo top left] who warned that he and a former FBI agent named Donald Sachtleben had uncovered evidence of an impending terror attack on US soil stating that those behind the attack were “all insane.”
Even more bizarre about this case, this report continues, is that the retired FBI agent named Donald Sachtleben mentioned by Ivens, who also knew about this impending “plot,” was arrested within hours of Ivens disappearing and charged with trading child pornography.

Most important to note about Sachtleben was, aside from his being an over 25-year veteran of the FBI, he was a special agent bomb technician before retiring in 2008 who specialized in counterterrorism and bombing investigations and whose most important case was the 11 September 2001 attacks on New York City.

According to US news reports about Sachtleben’s arrest, this most knowledgeable of FBI agents openly traded child porn using the e-mail address ‘pedodave69@yahoo.com’ in an act so stupid for one of the United States most highly trained intelligence agents it defies belief.

The practice of US intelligence services charging their most feared dissidents with child pornography and/or sex charges is well known, with the most celebrated case being against the former UN weapons inspector William Scott Ritter, Jr. who warned about the lies being told to the American people in the run-up to the Iraq War only to find himself sent to prison on trumped up charges involving a minor girl.

To exactly what kind of false flag plot Agents Ivens and Sachtleben had uncovered this report doesn’t say, other than to note that the credibility of this information should not be dismissed due to how fast and hard US intelligence agencies are acting to cover their tracks should any additional information come forth.

Wife of Missing FBI Agent Stephen Ivens, My Husband is not a Rogue Agent

There is an “obvious sense of urgency to find him because of the missing weapon and scenarios associated with that that could pose a threat to public safety,” Laura Eimiller of the FBI’s Los Angeles office said on Monday.”
-Burbankleader.com

One week after FBI Special Agent Stephen Ivens was reported missing from his Burbank, California, home, we wondered, does the still missing Ivens or his missing weapon no longer pose a threat to public safety?

In press reports residents were warned to stay away from a distraught Ivens, not his gun.

“Authorities have not said why Ivens was despondent and continued to urge anyone who sees him to call authorities rather than approach him.”
-LA Times, Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Meanwhile Iven’s wife posted on the Let’s Bring Steve Home Facebook page:

    7th Day

    Facts:
Steve is an avid runner but not an avid hiker.
Steve is not a rogue agent
We have a toddler, not a 1 year old baby

We know that there’s a lot of speculations out there in the media about his disappearance but we would really appreciate if we focus on our efforts of bringing him back safely first. And to those who had been generous with their time, the kindness you’d shown on our family, the comforting words, messages, texts totally touched our hearts. There are no words to describe how we feel about the outpouring of love and support from our extended family, friends & the public.

We are asking to everyone again & again – to continue praying for his safe return home.

    Thank you.

In the game of Rock, Scissors, and Paper, the rock (Facebook), doesn’t cover paper (talking to the press or a press conference).

Ivens was reported missing shortly after 7 am, Friday, May 11th, leading to the largest manhunt in Burbank history including 100 FBI agents searching the ravines of the Verdugo Mountains east of Ivens’ home.

One week later national and local news reports in the past 48-hours on the search for Ivens have dropped to zero. News reports which warned Los Angeles residents to stay away from a ‘distraught’ Ivens who might be armed and possibly suicidal with the conflicting reports Ivens is a nice guy who didn’t have any problems at work; the FBI is extremely concerned for Ivens’ welfare. So concerned, the one and only FBI press conference was held last Sunday.

On Tuesday, May 15, the LA Times published the information a neighbor encountered a ‘staggering’ Ivens who seemed ‘confused’ and ‘out of it’ last Thursday night.

Included in the LA Times report the, once again, warning from the FBI, if you spot Ivens stay away from him and contact authorities.

Three days later does the public safety warning still stand?

It looks to me as if Steve hit paydirt, knows to much, and has fallen off a cliff or out a window, perhaps he is has been grounded up and mixed in with the MacDonald's big mac
Sketchy, nope, insane, YUP.   He appeared to be staggering, well that is a word normally referring to drunks, Steve was no a drunk. Why was he staggering, strange isn't it. This guy is an avid runner staggering his way to a workout run, OK sure Wink
Get the feeling he was prepped for that long ride to the burial grounds.
Does anyone truly believe that because this man had a wife and newborn it mattered a twit, I say that simply because my impression is he conveniantly fell from a cliff. His buddy ,X FBI has been jailed, the charges are kiddy porn, sound familiar, they are wearing that one out.    He will probably die in jail similar to Jack Ruby, we won't be hearing from him and this will not go MSM (big time).
BUT- It will be mentioned in passing, that is unless the net activity about this perpetrates their need of a cover story.

You want to know how corrupt the top people are in the FBI? The Sibel Edmonds new book is A must Read!
http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=232830.0

I have almost finished this book, and I am incensed at what this lady went through (and continues to go through) and how she was shut down at every turn when she told the truth! It will show you just how corrupt the FBI, the gov and many of its agencies are and how they trample your rights and the Constituion!

Read this fresh off the self-published press (since reg press too cowardly to print it) book, and you will see just how bad things are in America and how you are losing your freedom daily!

Good guys in the FBI have been Whistleblowers for years and they are now a member of the organization Sibel created to give them support, since their gov refused to help them! What a disgrace the gov has become, as well as the unAmerican minions who support the corruption!

America needs more Sibel's who stand up to the liars who then use taxpayer money to get even with Whistleblowers! Are you standing up?

3 weeks, no Steve. His family is suppose to have said he grew  beard. Now how the hell would they know if no one has seen him or had contact.
This episode should remain open, some deep shiite going on here.

I agree, we need to stay on top of this one, maybe they made him a Manchurian, or perhaps his conscience got to him, which it sounds like to me.

This guy must be VERY VALUABLE to the Feds if they are sending in several agencies including 100+ feds.

Lets stay on top of this and hope for the best! Maybe he's an Alex Jones fan and will call in....

@Chris Jones - The story you quoted about the Kremlin report is dis-info spread by "Sorcha Faal" and apparently published without fact checking by some of the alternative media. "Sorcha Faal" a.k.a. David Booth, is a former cyber-squatter and well known internet hoax / fraud perpetrator.  Booth apparently lives at Long Trail Acres Farm, 22 Mattheson Road, Antrim, NH. Interestingly, he used to own a company called "PC Free" which is now owned by "Brendhan Hight", a domain re-seller and cyber-squatter currently suspected of involvement in fraudulent telephone boiler room scams.

http://www.dailynews.com/news/ci_20852474/family-missing-fbi-agent-asks-help-search

BURBANK - The family of a missing FBI agent on Wednesday asked for volunteers to help search for him over Father's Day weekend.

Special Agent Steven Ivens disappeared May 10 after leaving his Burbank home with his service weapon. Police dogs tracked his footsteps to the base of the Verdugo Mountains.

"It is my fear that this case has gone cold," said his wife, Thea Ivens, 40, of Burbank, during a news conference at the Stough Canyon trailhead. "We're appealing for your help."

The 6-foot-1 agent, who turns 36 today, had been depressed and on the verge of a breakdown over events at work unrelated to his criminal caseload, she said.

He couldn't sleep, she said, and had anxiety attacks each morning before work.

She said he had sought therapy before he disappeared and was considering checking into a hospital for help. Before he left, he wrote a "gratitude message" for his wife and their 2 1/2-year-old son, Kyle.

Thea Ivens and Stephen's uncle have been combing Verdugo Mountain trails and soup lines, food pantries and homeless shelters across the region for a month, to no avail.

With TV cameras rolling, she appealed directly to her missing husband.

"Please, Steve baby, I love you," she said. "I miss you. Please let me know that you're OK."

A really strange case of FBI Agent Stephen Ivens ...

http://burbanknbeyond.com/06/sections/events/where-is-steven-ivens/
...
On June 12, Ivens’ wife, Thea, accompanied by her husband’s uncle, James Ryan, held a press conference in front of the Nature Center. Several television station, radio stations, and the print media were in attendance. According to Thea Ivens, the trailhead at the Nature Center is where dogs used early on in the effort to find the agent, tracked his scent.  However, the scent trail the dogs were tracking ended at the parking lot of the Nature Center.

“My husband and I haven’t been up here (at the fire road/trail that starts at the Nature Center) in about two years,” said Mrs. Ivens.  She acknowledged that there wasn’t really any other evidence that her husband had vanished into the Verdugo Mountains.

...
Mrs. Ivens did shed some new light on her husband’s mental state. Previously, the FBI had stated that the agent was depressed and possibly suicidal, but would not divulge why.

My husband was depressed about something at work,” said Thea Ivens, “but it was not about his actual job as an FBI agent,” adding, “He loved his job.”  She declined to elaborate further.

Ivens did leave a note for his family, but the contents have not been made public.

Yep they are still trying to find this guy...

We went through a police checkpoint last weekend, over in Rancho Cucamonga / Ontario. This is an area which is also follows along the Angeles National Forest, but on the opposite side of the county from where this guy was said to be missing. The checkpoint was located at a choke point, near the 10 / 15 freeway interchange, and I'm guessing they had an additional checkpoint on the 15 before victorville, which curves up and around the Angeles National Forest. Just pull up a map of Southern Cali, and punch in Verdugo mountains LA, and you will see that it is just a hop over the road to the Angeles Forest, which is prolly where this guy is.

But the thing about the checkpoint was that they weren't looking for tags, dui, etc - they were specifically looking to read the name on your driver's license. I even asked the cop when he asked for DL " I'm sorry sir... did I do something illegal for you to ask to see my ID?" and to which I got no response.  But ya, personally, they were checking for Names, and prolly looking for this guy on the streets which surround that forest. Hopefully he can call in or something.

Not to be a tinfoil piker, but there was a similar situation where a guy was out on medical leave from area 51, who was able to call in (to coast 2 coast) and he sounded like they were chasing him too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMgzj2PopxI

Missing FBI agent found dead in Burbank

The body of an FBI agent who vanished more than two months ago was found near his home in Burbank, authorities said Tuesday.

Steven Ivens, 35, was found by two hikers in a wooded area behind a church on Monday, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. His gun was found near his body.

The cause and time of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Ivens was being treated for depression and was said to be distraught at the time of his disappearance, authorities said.

A massive air and ground search was unsuccessful after Ivens walked away from his home on May 10 with his keys and his service weapon. His wife, Thea, later made a public plea for him to return home.

Ivens is survived by his wife and 1-year-old son.

So they had a massive man hunt and didn`t search near his home? The tracking dogs couldn`t pick this up?
Just how long has the FBI been doing this kind of thing?

The second thing that comes to mind is how can it be determined so quickly that this is the body of Steven Ivens? After two months the body would of been badly decomposed and unrecognizable.
