Verint are running security at the London Olympic village. Verint are Israeli owned and ran the security on the bus that exploded the day after London was given the Olympics.

Israeli intelligence failures began very early on. In 1954, the Egyptian regime uncovered a network of Egyptian Jewish spies who were engaged in terror attacks on British and US targets in Egypt in what later came to be known as the Lavon Affair.

When the Egyptian government tried the spies in court, Israeli media claimed that Cairo had no case, was perpetrating lies and conspiracies against Tel Aviv, and fostering “anti-Semitism”. This knee-jerk reaction has become an almost automatic response whenever Israeli policies are scrutinised.

But of course, the Egyptians turned out to be right; the operation was such a debacle that it led to the eventual resignation of Pinhas Lavon, the then Israeli defence minister.

The second case was that of the Israeli spy, Elie Cohen who was smuggled into Syria, where he posed as a Syrian citizen with considerable financial resources and with Arab nationalist convictions.

The case was turned into a cheap paperback novel and into two movies, at least. But the ability for a Mossad operative to successfully infiltrate the highest echelons of the Syrian regime is wildly exaggerated.

Cohen was never the high-ranking person that Israeli propaganda made him out of to be. To be sure, he did operate his house like a brothel, and invited prostitutes to entertain various Syrians, but he was not really privy to state secrets of any relevance.

The story of his relations with then president Amin Hafiz was invented by Israel and echoed by his enemies within Syria. The affair concocted by the Israelis was even mired in historical inaccuracies. The Israelis had widely disseminated the notion that Cohen had met Hafiz when he served in Syria’s embassy in Argentina. But Cohen’s presence in Argentina did not match the years that Hafiz spent there.

And Mossad’s real achievements have been in the realm of public relations.

According to Mossad propagandist literature, one of their greatest achievements has been the pursuit and elimination of the “red prince”.

The Mossad supposedly scored its biggest hits when it killed the Palestinian Black September perpetrators of the attack on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

But in fact, the Mossad had no clue what Black September was all about. They assumed the group was being led by Abu Hasan Salamah - the red prince, while his role in the faction turned out to be rather minor.

Not only did the Mossad spend years in pursuing Abu Hasan but they also managed to kill an innocent Moroccan waiter in Norway in 1973, mistaking him for the Palestinian.

The Mossad agents behind that bungled assassination were captured by Norwegian police but subsequently released. Israeli agents later assassinated Wael Zuaytir, a Palestinian scholar who had nothing to do with the Black September group.

In 1979, Mossad agents assassinated Abu Hasan in what was described as a surgical kill; a massive car bomb exploded as his motorcade passed through downtown Beirut, leaving scores of Lebanese and Palestinian civilians dead and wounded.

In what would be a further intelligence failure for the Mossad, Black September’s real mastermind emerged years later as Abu Dawoud, the nom du guerre of Mohammed Oudeh, a PLO commander who returned to Palestine in 1996 under the Oslo peace agreements.

In 1999, he published his memoirs and revealed that he had been the brains behind the Munich operation. He is believed to be living in Syria.

Kidnapping Nasrallah

Through film and literature, the media has romanticised the undercover world of intrigue, espionage and targeted killings and in doing so has elevated the Mossad to a station it does not deserve.

Mossad blunders are not as widely known as its invented successes, and Western governments have been more than keen to protect the image of the “formidable” Israeli spy agency.

But Israeli intelligence failures during the war on Lebanon in 2006 crippled the Mossad’s image in the eyes of the Arabs

During the summer of 2006, as Israeli jets pounded Beirut, the Mossad claimed they had captured Iranian soldiers in South Lebanon. That, and the kidnapping of a poor Lebanese farmer because his name is Hassan Nasrallah, later turned out to be in error.

Arab media were left scratching their heads; could the Mossad have been so inept as to fail to distinguish that there are many Arabs who have the name Hassan Nasrallah and in doing so capture a farmer who had nothing to do with Hezbollah?

As it turned out, the Mossad had a very inaccurate picture of Hezbollah capabilities and abilities; it failed to kill one Hezbollah regional or national leader despite blustering threats.

This is Mossad showboating for the dumbed down public. They let the real perpetrators go free because they were in fact working for Mossad.

Unmanned poison drones are new threat for London Olympics: Expert

London, May 6 (ANI): Unmanned drones carrying deadly poison could be used to carry out terror attacks during this year's Olympic Games, a senior UK army officer has warned.

Lieutenant Colonel Brian Fahy grimly warned during a meeting intended to calm residents worried about the army's plans to position missiles on the rooftops of their flats for security purpose during Olympics, that it was possible that remote-controlled aircraft filled with poison could be used as a biological weapon during Olympics.

'An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) can be put in a backpack. They come in all sorts of sizes and it's feasible they could be filled with something noxious and flown by remote control,' Daily Mail quoted Fahy as saying.

Fahy, the officer responsible for community relations during the Olympics, said this at Leytonstone, East London, near one of six sites where surface-to air missile batteries could be placed in order to shoot down aircraft attempting to infiltrate an Olympic 'no fly' zone.

Typhoon jets, Sea King helicopters with snipers on-board will be flying over London as part of a major security exercise ahead of the Olympic Games this summer.

The RAF, Royal Navy and UK Armed Forces will be joining forces for a nine-day security drill from May 2 to 10, in a bid to ensure maximum security at all Olympic events – including those held at the All England Club in Wimbledon.

Codenamed Exercise Olympic Guardian, five different military aircraft, including Royal Navy Sea King helicopters, RAF Typhoon jets and Puma helicopters, will be "visible" and "audible" across the capital.

Four Royal Navy Lynx aircraft will embark from the HMS Ocean on the Thames, while E-3D Sentry and VC-10 aircraft tankers, specialising in surveillance, will orbit London operating from Lincolnshire and Oxfordshire.

The security exercise has been designed to test the team’s response to unknown aircraft entering restricted airspace during the Olympics with military aircraft expected to fly as low as 500ft on three occasions.

Defence secretary, Philip Hammond, said: "The majority of this exercise will be played out in full view of the public and I hope that it will have a secondary effect of reassuring the British people that everything possible is being done to ensure this will be a safe and secure Olympic and Paralympic Games."

Assistant Commissioner Chris Allison, national Olympic security co-ordinator, added: "This is a unique opportunity for us to deliver a world class operation that keeps the Games, and the country, safe and secure."

It’s hard to believe the section of the security scheme for the Olympics that includes putting surface to air missiles on a water tower near the Bow Quarter in East London hasn’t been designed to take into account all the implications, such as the damage that would be caused if an SAM brought down an enemy plane over London.

Comments have ranged from doubt about whether the decision to shoot could be taken in time, to concern about the factors that would be taken into account when making the risk assessment.

What we, as solicitors who represent many serving members of the military, would also want to know on behalf of our clients is where the exercise and the security arrangements at the games themselves stand in relation to the long-term future of the Forces. Have the massive redundancies that are going through at the moment taken into account the fact that the Forces are constantly needed, in ways which are not noticed until they become vital?

The 30th Olympic games will take place this year from July 27 to August 12, 2012 in London.

Fighter jets were back in the northwest neighborhood of London for the first time since World War II on May 2, 2012. The jets soared above London on Wednesday while the British military began a pretest of Olympic security.

The Typhoon fighter jets will arrive at the Royal Air Force Base in Northold (west London) for their "Olympic Guardian" operation. They will be joined by Puma transport and Lynx helicopters that are trained to intercept unauthorized aircraft or enemies in the airspace.

Officials say that there will be a visible — and audible — air security presence over London during Operation Olympic Guardian, but they hope to reduce any disturbance to a minimum.

Four Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets arrived at RAF Northolt in northwest London 2 May to take part in Exercise Olympic Guardian, a test for forces protecting the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The nine-day exercise will see the fighters fly over London escorting simulated intruder aircraft as well as helicopters and naval units conducting boarding exercises on the River Thames. Typhoons will be based at Northolt on Quick Reaction Alert before and during the Olympics and Paralympics through July and August. Ali Karim - a total legend among thriller-writers for the incredible dedication and enthusiasm with which he spreads the word about the work we do - recently sent me a bunch of questions about The Accident Man and The Survivor. The full interview is available on The Rap Sheet ... but meantime, here's a brief extract, just as a taster ...

Q Tell me how the plot of rogue suitcase-nukes and religious nutters threatening Armageddon came to you?

Well, I can trace each individual strand quite easily. The whole fundamentalist Christian angle, and the notion of ‘the Rapture’, which is their term for the moment when the believers will physically be gathered up into heaven, was inspired by an article I read in Vanity Fair (and which I credit in the book, in the interests of full disclosure). I already had that notion a few years ago, and was going to use it in a plotline involving a US President, that I later abandoned. So I recycled it this time around. The fact that parts of the book are set in Kosovo was simply a consequence of it being set in 1997-8. I looked around the world at what was happening then, and the biggest issue seemed to be the former Yugoslavia, so I had that in mind as a possible backdrop. The combination of religious Armageddon and civil war led me naturally to think about nuclear weapons and by pure chance, rooting around online, I stumbled upon a news-story about a Russian general telling a US TV show, on 7 September 1997, that his country had lost 100 suitcase nukes. Well, The Accident Man ended on 6 September 1997, so that was too good to be true. So those were the basic ingredients of the story. How they coalesced into the final plot, though, is a total mystery to me!

The anniversary of September 11th approacheth, and you know what that means, buoys and gulls.

Yes, it's time for Peggy Noonan to give lyrical Jeanette Macdonald voice to her full blow dementia.

I hadn't read the Noon the Loon in a spell, which may explain how my brain cells had regained their lustrous shine. I'm going to ration my reading of her in the future to prevent a relapse, but her most recent column is too nutty to ignore.

"Think Dark" is the title, and when Noonan thinks dark, it's a total eclipse.

Believe it or not, the ostensible subject is the proposed closings of military bases across the country.

"The Pentagon says this huge and historic base-closing plan will save $50 billion over the next two decades. They may be right. But it's a bad plan anyway, a bad idea, and exactly the wrong thing to do in terms of future and highly possible needs.

"The Pentagon has some obvious logic on its side--we have a lot of bases, and they cost a lot of money--and numbers on paper. They have put forward their numbers on savings, redundancies, location and obsolescence."

But cold logic, budget constraints, outmoded facilities--forget that Vulcan jazz, and heed what the mystic fortune teller has to tell us.

"In the rough future our country faces, bad things will happen. We all know this...

"Among the things we may face over the next decade, as we all know, is another terrorist attack on American soil. But let's imagine the next one has many targets, is brilliantly planned and coordinated. Imagine that there are already 100 serious terror cells in the U.S., two per state. The members of each cell have been coming over, many but not all crossing our borders, for five years. They're working jobs, living lives, quietly planning.

"Imagine they're planning that on the same day in the not-so-distant future, they will set off nuclear suitcase bombs in six American cities, including Washington, which will take the heaviest hit. Hundreds of thousands may die; millions will be endangered. Lines will go down, and to make it worse the terrorists will at the same time execute the cyberattack of all cyberattacks, causing massive communications failure and confusion. There will be no electricity; switching and generating stations will also have been targeted. There will be no word from Washington; the extent of the national damage will be as unknown as the extent of local damage is clear. Daily living will become very difficult, and for months--food shortages, fuel shortages.

"Let's make it worse. On top of all that, on the day of the suitcase nukings, a half dozen designated cells will rise up and assassinate national, state and local leaders. There will be chaos, disorder, widespread want; law-enforcement personnel, or what remains of them, will be overwhelmed and outmatched."

Yeah, that would be pretty bad, no getting around that. A lot of social events would have to be cancelled. But I don't quite understand how a representative government is supposed to make plans and allocate resources based on imaginative people letting their imaginations run wild in imagining the worst. It's one thing to think up a nightmare story arc for 24, another thing to present this as a plausible scenario looming on the horizon. Hell, why stop with six suitcase nukes? Why not go for seven, eight, nine, and throw in the dynamiting of Mount Rushmore too?

Conversely, in a sunnier mood, you could just as easily imagine that there are only a few ineffectual terrorist cells scattered across the country, that the communication lines between Al Qaeda are spotty and thin, and that 9/11 may have been Bin Laden's last hurrah (domestically, at least).

At any rate, it's hard to see how keeping open redundant military bases would do much good in the grim dawn of a suitcase nuke-cyberattack--political assassination superspree.

Au contraire, says Noonan.

"So we are imagining America being forced to fight for its survival on its streets. How does this get us to base closings? On the day the big terrible thing happens there will of course be shock and chaos. People will feel the need for protection--for the feeling of protection and for the thing itself. They will want and need American troops nearby and they will want and need American military bases up and operating to help maintain some semblance of order. The very presence, the very fact of these bases will help in the big recovery.

"That's what all these bases are going to be needed for. To help us survive a very bad time."

In other words, martial law.

And of course those military bases would also make handy makeshift Michelle Malkin Terrorist Detention Centers to barrack all those suspicious swarthies swept off the street, like the Army vet who recently received a credit-card letter addressed to Palestinian Bomber.

Noonan, regarding her prophecy:

"This of course is pure guessing on my part. I can't prove it with data. My gut says that when things turn dark, we will need all the help we can get."

My gut says a lot of things, but I don't try to impose its gurglings on the populace or amplify it into Gotterdammerung.

Noonan, to the nunnery, go.

Tavistock Institute developed the mass brain-washing techniques which were first used experimentally on American prisoners of war in Korea. Its experiments in crowd control methods have been widely used on the American public, a surreptitious but nevertheless outrageous assault on human freedom by modifying individual behavior through topical psychology. A German refugee, Kurt Lewin, became director of Tavistock in 1932. He came to the U.S. in 1933 as a "refugee", the first of many infiltrators, and set up the Harvard Psychology Clinic, which originated the propaganda campaign to turn the American public against Germany and involve us in World War II.

In 1938, Roosevelt executed a secret agreement with Churchill which in effect ceded U.S. sovereignty to England, because it agreed to let Special Operations Executive control U.S. policies. To implement this agreement, Roosevelt sent General Donovan to London for indoctrination before setting up OSS (now the CIA) under the aegis of SOE-SIS. The entire OSS program, as well as the CIA has always worked on guidelines set up by the Tavistock Institute

Tavistock Institute originated the mass civilian bombing raids carried out by Roosevelt and Churchill purely as a clinical experiment in mass terror, keeping records of the results as they watched the "guinea pigs" reacting under "controlled laboratory conditions".
