I'll use this thread to clarify a few things there seems to be a lot of confusion about.
Is anti-Zionism the same as anti-Semitism?
Theoretically - no. In practice - mostly, yes.
The most basic definition of Zionism is the right of Jews to have a state in Israel. You're not an anti-Semite if you're against this ideology, as long as you don't single out Jews.
ex. Flairon (aside from his other statements), has a rule that there is an expiration date for a state to be re-established. If this is a strict rule and can be applied to Kurds etc, then there is no evident anti-Semitism about such a rule. Of course if his arbitrary rule only manages to exclude the reestablishment of Israel, then its suspect. I think it's a baseless, silly rule; but not necessarily anti-Semitic.
Another example goes for all the Socialists who have an idealogical issue with Israel since it goes against their many visions for a world without any national character. I think they're insane, but not anti-Semitic.
There are less crazy socialists who are openly anti-Zionist and not anti-Semitic. An example is Marek Edelman. (Chomsky is a blurry subject, as he used to be on the very left end of Zionism). I'm not sure where he stands now.
From what I know about Edward Said, he's an anti-Zionist, who's not anti-Semitic. If you want an example of religious Jews who are anti-Zionist and yet aren't a cult that: meets with Ahmedinijad, engages in Holocaust denial, and effectively scams, brainwashes and kidnaps Yemenite Jews, then the group that is left for an example is Satmar. They oppose Israel purely for religious reasons and not idealogical. They could care less about the politics of it etc, just the fact that the messiah is not here yet. The group I was alluding to earlier is Nuterei Karta (led by Rabbi Weiss, the jewsagainstzionism.com cult). They've also been put on herem (excommunication).
Plain anti-Semitism:
A lot of you seem to be outraged after you express a certain belief and are called anti-Semites, despite not actually hating Jews. Well, David Duke also says he doesn't hate Jews. Many 'white nationalists' also say that they don't hate blacks, but just believe in bla, bla, racist bla. And I actually trust some of them. Some of them really don't feel the emotion of 'hate'. They're just crazy and really believe that their lives will be better if they're all blond and listening to atrocious metal music. But the world still calls them racists, because they hold on to racist beliefs, even if their beliefs don't trigger them to feel any hate. If someone says that blacks are inferior, you call them a racist, whether or not they actually hate black people. Similarly, if you hold on to anti-Semitic beliefs, you're an anti-Semite. If you believe that: "Jews dominate the media!", "Rothschilds own control everything", "Jews are trying to brainwash us", "Jews want to murder all arabs" etc. , then you're an anti-Semite. The fact that these beliefs don't cause you to hate Jews might be a testament to your character, but it's certainly not a testament to your intelligence.
