Remember, remember, the 5th of November

This is just an idea for how to help the elected public servants stay in touch with the people they have pledged to serve.

Basically, every elected "official" (public servant) would have to maintain a certain level of approval in order to keep their job.  For example, if the president should act in such a manner that his approval rating drops below 30% for more than 10 days, he is DONE. OUT. FIRED. And the next in line, in this case the vice-president, moves up to take his place.

There could be an appeal process similar to the process in criminal matters and just as slow.  They could try to get their job back by trying to convince the American people that they are worthy of reinstatement but they could only use facts concerning what they have already done and could not make excuses or promises of what they would do in the future.  Just the facts about what they did and not what they said they would do.

This should also be used with appointed public servants.  The president may appoint whomever he wishes but then they must maintain the approval of the people or else they are OUT> And they cannot be transferred around or promoted unless they have maintained a very high approval rating.

So if someone like Eric Holder should happen to insult everyone in America by saying he doesn't know anything about that which he is supposed to know everything and his approval rating bottoms out (below 5% for one day) he is GONE. FINISHED. KAPUT. with PREJUDICE. And he loses all his benefits except unemployment insurance which will last for 6 months and no extensions are allowed.  And there is no appeal process.

The details about how the approval rating is obtained is not important.  It would have to be verifiable which means those who rate would not be anonymous but this would also mean that we could check to see that our rating "votes" are counted correctly.

I thought of another possibility recently when I heard of this idea for tracking students reading time with facial recognition and eye scanning technology.  I think an excellent place to try this would be in the government, particularly the legislative branch.  If a member of congress has not read a bill, they cannot vote on it or if a legislator votes on a bill and is found not to have actually read it first, they are DONE. KAPUT. HISTORY.

We have the technology.  We need to have a plan of how to make government work when we replace the decrepit, rotten, dysfunctional, murderous, pile of malodorous scum that currently calls itself "government".
