Sue the city for harrasment

Need a sanity check....
Recently I got a double parking ticket for stopping infront of my house to unload groceries, I sent it in as usual asking for a court date to appear and contest it, they sent me a letter back saying that a "hearing has been held and I am guilty" , Guilty of what I know not but they want 130$ for a 115$ ticket that isn't even "late".
It doesn't make any sense anymore, New York department of Finance is resorting to downright extortion and harassment and possibly criminal conduct.

How can you not even let an individual plead a case? and find them guilty? especially when they asked for a court date? and to be represented?

Im contemplating suing them for harassment and violating the rules of evidence of some kind...

I don't care if the odds of winning are zero, im willing to spend $ just to prove a point....

This kinda thing used to be simple , you would ask to fight a ticket, they would send you a date to appear the officer would appear and you would sit down and fight it... now they just do all that without you and stamp guilty on everything... what kind of system is this?

I mean seriously how can you slap 20$ on a ticket that isn't even 15 days old? and hold a court without even sending me a court date/notification? WHO was the judge? I don't know... Are the impartial? I don't know because for all I know they paid some bum 10$ to stamp guilty on it.

Im sending a letter back stating that I have found them guilty of being stupid and attaching a bill for 130$.


Im not gona f**king carry a full cart of groceries from up the block making 20 f**king trips.... NO ONE DOES.

Am I just being to pissed off about it? I really feel like this is just down right f**king criminal .... you can't hold a hearing without the other party even f**king knowing about it.


Life sucks in new york, you spend 20$ on gas for a quarter tank, you get tickets for unloading groceries, you pay f**king sales tax on everything, they take like 300$ out of every pay check to pay for services I never get to use....., then I mean I d K , f**k this state, all a bunch of .... thugs.


This pissed me off more than my 150$ bagel in 2009.

This is happening everywhere. Agenda 21 & ICLEI & others are robbing money from cities, towns, counties and these towns are using their cops to raise monies on petty things like this instead of doing law enforcement! They have been reduced to meter maids with quotas! If I was a cop, I would be pissed and rebel!

Too bad we don't have many leaders who will stand up to this highway robbery and stop it! I guess it's going to take the people filling the courts with complaints!

The bankers (Derivatives, CDOs, etc) as well as the bailouts have looted every town, city, municipality! They're robbing pensions, etc.

All of these scams and more are contributing to the problem that cities, towns, municipalities are having! So they are looting the public with these trivial fines! The cops should be men and stand up, but we have spineless and ignorant people in these positions, unfortunately!

Only the public can do something about this by taking it to court and standing up! You also need to educate your local councils about all of these things happening!

im not paying it... im gona let it ride.... I might go to the court house and file a complaint... IDK ill see how I feel about it in a few days.


Its just getting out of hand.... you can't leave your house anymore, I can't order food and go to pick it up, I can't go to friends homes to pick people up to go places without calling in advance and having them sit outside waiting because the traffic cops block you in with their car rush out and scan your registration tag before you can shift into gear.


You can't leave your house without incurring some kind of trivial 150$ expense payable to NYC Department of Finance.


I just can't take it anymore, its getting to the point where its raising my blood pressure. . . I might sell my car and just ride around on a bike with expired plates.... IDK.... let them take the bike after the tickets accrue to like 10,000.... ill just store it in the yard under a tarp... let them find it.

My friends construction company has close 75,000 $ in traffic tickets.... because you have to stop and unload material every day in the same spot.

ITS HARASSMENT.

I mean.... I feel bad for delivery guys who have to bike long distances to avoid traffic police.

Its only a matter of time before they crack down on bike riders.

Find a lawyer who can give you a free consultation. Then bring in all your paper work and evidence. If what you're saying is true you might have a case. And I know that in NYC there's all those stupid cases of people tripping on a sidewalk and getting compensated like 85,000 dollars. So if that's the case I'd look into it. Could be a big winfall.
