This one looks ripe for a false flag.

Could the Nato and G8 summits scheduled for May put Chicago at the crossroads of the next global uprising of the 99 percent?

February 19, 2012

Chicago’s G8/NATO organizing committee has landed on a slogan for the city as it hosts the twin summits this May: “The Global Crossroads.” This is certainly an appropriate moniker for a town built by immigrants, with its neighborhoods still bearing the names of the ethnic enclaves they once were: Ukranian Village, Greektown, Little Italy and Andersonville, to name a few. Recognizing the inherently global character of the Metropolis of the Midwest would be honorable, if that is what the organizers intended. However, when they say “global,” they are invoking the 1 percent sense of the word, as Don Welsh of the city’s Convention and Tourism Bureau makes clear: “To penetrate international markets takes time and money, and this is going to help us showcase to the international markets in a quick way.” It is the global markets that will cross paths as the world’s political and financial elite sets its agenda behind closed doors at McCormick Place.

Meanwhile, on the outside, there will be thousands of protesters expressing their dissent with the flagrant militarism and economic exploitation inherent to this agenda. Protest organizers in Chicago are busily coordinating with community groups, labor unions, and occupiers everywhere to plan what figures to be a riveting display of resistance. What’s more, the Canadian culture-jamming magazine Adbusters, which put out the call for Occupy Wall Street last year, has issued a similar “tactical briefing” regarding NATO/G8:

Against the backdrop of a global uprising that is simmering in dozens of countries and thousands of cities and towns, the G8 and NATO will hold a rare simultaneous summit in Chicago this May. The world’s military and political elites, heads of state, 7,500 officials from 80 nations, and more than 2,500 journalists will be there.
And so will we.

Commentators have spent months speculating about the potential for a resurgent movement this spring. Will Occupy simply dissipate like so many movements before, or will it regain the headlines? The hosting of NATO/G8 in one the country’s preeminent cities certainly seems to provide occasion for a re-emergent movement. Meanwhile, there are a number of other factors pointing to momentous actions around these events. Here are four signs that the American Spring is coming to Chicago.

Certainly blowing up a crowd of G8 protesters would end protesting WITHOUT first going through massive TSA screening in far away 'protest' zones.

I think the author is on to something.

Rahm Emanuel: "We need to confiscate all guns before Bilderberg false flag revolution"

Emanuel proposes statewide gun registry similar to ones implemented by Hitler, Mao, Stalin, and Castro
Illinois rifle association leader says plan to track weapons 'would probably have no chance of passing'

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-02-10/news/ct-met-rahm-emanuel-illinois-gun-registry-20120210_1_gun-registry-gun-control-gun-owners
February 10, 2012|By John Byrne and Ray Long, Chicago Tribune reporters

Mayor Rahm Emanuel wants a statewide gun registry in Illinois, an idea some lawmakers quickly dismissed Thursday as ineffective and an insult to gun owners. The proposal would require anyone who buys a handgun to pay a $65 registration fee. To register a gun, a purchaser would need to provide his name, address and phone number, along with the weapon's manufacturer and serial number and the place and date of purchase. The registry would be in addition to the firearm ownership standards all gun owners must already meet. Emanuel, picking up the gun control agenda started by predecessor Richard Daley, said a registry could help reduce the flow of illegal guns into Chicago from around the state by making it easier for police to figure out where they came from. "I'm introducing this because our law enforcement community, our parents, our community groups, our block and neighborhood watch groups need a proper gun legislation to complement all the other activities we're doing," Emanuel said. Downstate Rep. Brandon Phelps called Emanuel's initiative a "slap in the face of every law-abiding gun owner." "It's never going to work," said Phelps, D-Harrisburg. "They're trying to go after criminals. They're never going to register their guns. They won't pay the fee." In Springfield, gun control issues are often as much about geography as partisanship. Downstaters tend to oppose gun control measures, while lawmakers from Chicago and some suburbs tend to support them. Emanuel is not unaware of the tough road he'll encounter at the Capitol. "I didn't go into this because I thought it was a slam-dunk. You don't need me for that," Emanuel said at a Thursday news conference with police Superintendent Garry McCarthy and others at a youth center in the Roseland neighborhood to announce the proposal. "You don't need my political capital for the easy things. You use your political capital for the tough things that are the right things to do." The mayor didn't get immediate public support from Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn. While the governor campaigned on a statewide ban on assault weapons, he said Thursday that he would reserve his opinion on Emanuel's gun registry plan. Quinn wants lawmakers to first weigh in and "give their wisdom." Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association, said the plan "would probably have no chance of passing." The National Rifle Association quickly pounced on both the philosophy and the fee. "The last time we checked, Rahm Emanuel was mayor of Chicago — not emperor of Illinois," said Stephanie Samford, NRA spokeswoman. "This legislation would make self-defense a luxury item." Republican Rep. Rosemary Mulligan of Des Plaines said she'll support the mayor's bill when it's introduced in the coming weeks. Mulligan, whose father died from gun violence in Chicago just before Thanksgiving 1967, said she has family who work and live in the city now. "If you're the mayor, you have to worry about people being shot," Mulligan said. "There just seems to be a murder a day at least." Sen. Kwame Raoul said he supported the mayor's proposal but also plans to seek a more comprehensive "middle ground discussion." "I think what the mayor is probably getting at is the fact that what is more helpful toward preventing gun violence is preventing gun trafficking," said Raoul, D-Chicago. "To the extent to which we can track the transfer of guns and keep track of guns, it does nothing to harm the rights of law-abiding gun owners." But Raoul said he does not know that the mayor's proposal could pass if considered "in isolation."

Rahm Emanuel buying new Nazi Stormtrooper tyranny equipment for 3,000 officers while conspiring with CIA payrolled 'anarchists' to plan a Bilderberg controlled riot

February 14, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Chicago Police are getting new protective gear for the upcoming G8 and NATO summits.  The gear will help protect officers dealing with protesters who march during the summits this spring. Officers will be wearing the new shields on the helmets of their riot gear.  New shields are something the police union has been pushing for since it was announced that Chicago will be hosting the summits.  While the old helmet and shield can still do the trick, police say it is not enough to protect officers in the event of huge protests at the G8 and NATO summits. So, at the request of the Fraternal Order of Police, the city has bought over $190,000 worth of state-of-the-art shields.  "The new facial shields have a rubber material in between the shield and the helmet, which will prevent any fluids from rolling down into the officers' eyes," said Fraternal Order of Police President Mike Shields.  In its first order, the city has bought just enough for over 3,000 officers. Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy says that is all the contractor would allow in one purchase. The FOP says all 9,500 Chicago Police officers should have one.  The police union is also concerned about the lack of training for the summits. So far, officers have received an eight-hour baton class.  "This is simply a way for the City of Chicago in a couple of years during litigation to say, 'Hey, we taught these officers how to use a nightstick, and it's on them,' but they are not really preparing for the potential of what typically occurs at G8 and NATO summits," said Shields.  "I'm personally going to be standing with those officers on those days. I am personally responsible to ensure that they have adequate equipment and adequate training," McCarthy said. "Right now there is a lot of misinformation that is going on out there. I'm going to have to straighten that out internally. I'm not going to engage in a debate through the press."  The FOP also blames the city for last minute planning. The city says it began to plan as soon as Chicago was named the host last summer.
