What an outrage. FOX has axed Judge Napolitano's show, and not for ratings reasons. But as much as we will all miss the greatest news and commentary show ever to appear on TV--this cretinous cancellation punishes the large audience most--there are more important things ahead for the Judge, and rightly so. In the meantime, read his books.

The Judge posted the following link on his Facebook...

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/fox-business-network-adds-encore-presentations-of-marquee-business-programming-2012-02-09

... which states he will be a contributor on a new FOX program extolling their prior programming greatness Roll Eyes

All very carefully worded to make it look like Freedom Watch and Judge Napolitano weren`t the target.

FOX Business Network Adds Encore Presentations of Marquee Business Programming

NEW YORK, Feb 09, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FOX Business Network (FBN) will debut a new primetime schedule featuring encore presentations of the channel's top post-market programs, announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President of the network. Starting February 20th at 8 PM/ET, viewers will find additional airings of The Willis Report (5PM & 8PM/ET), Cavuto (6PM & 9PM/ET) and Lou Dobbs Tonight (7PM & 10PM/ET). The new lineup will replace FreedomWatch with Judge Andrew Napolitano, Power & Money with David Asman and Follow the Money with Eric Bolling.

In addition, FBN is developing a new 5PM/ET program hosted by Melissa Francis who joined the network from CNBC earlier this year. The show will debut in the second quarter, at which point The Willis Report will move to 8PM/ET, enabling FBN to be the only business network providing viewers with uninterrupted live coverage of financial news from 5AM/ET to 9PM/ET.

In making the announcement Magee said, "Neil Cavuto, Lou Dobbs and Gerri Willis are the most trusted names in business news and this new lineup affords FOX Business viewers additional access to their no-nonsense take on the day's financial events. We look forward to Judge Napolitano, David and Eric continuing to make significant contributions to both FOX Business and FOX News. In addition to daily branded segments, each of them will be showcased throughout future programming on both networks."

Currently one of the leading judicial analysts on television, Judge Napolitano will continue his role on both FOX Business and FOX News, providing key legal insights surrounding the growing intersection between Washington and Wall Street. In addition to co-hosting The Five on FNC, Eric Bolling will also lend his unparalleled expertise on oil and energy stemming from more than 20 years on the trading floor to both networks as a commodities contributor. David Asman will maintain his role as co-anchor of After the Bell (4PM/ET) with Liz Claman on FBN, as well as expand upon his platform as a multinational economic affairs expert to provide commentary on the globalization of the business world. Stossel, hosted by John Stossel, will continue Thursdays at 10PM/ET.

I got rid of tv about 8 months ago and haven't missed it for a minute, neither has my children.  We watch movies on netflix occassionally, spend time together, play games and read.  Its been great.  I did enjoy watching clips of Judge's show....

It sounds like the Judge has been on the hit list for quite awhile now. This jackass talks like Freedom Watch`s ratings were going down.I find that hard to believe.

If votes in a election can be rigged.Changing the ratings of a TV show should be easy.

From October 20th,2011

Declining Ratings Could Put Judge Andrew Napolitano’s Fox News Future In Jeopardy

Back in May, Judge Andrew Napolitano seemed almost a shoo-in to take over Fox News Channel’s 5PM time, slot vacated by Glenn Beck. Beck himself stated, on air, that he’d like to hand over the reins to his frequent guest and replacement host, and the Judge was named one of the regular panelists on the temporary replacement show The Five when it debuted this summer. But it might have seemed somewhat discouraging to Napolitano when news came that the temporary status of The Five was made permanent as the 5PM offering — and he wasn’t part of the program.

But, it seems as though Fox News may have had reason to pass over Judge Napolitano as a permanent fixture on their surprisingly high-rated show: Mediaite recently got a hold of the self proclaimed “night watchman’s” Nielsen ratings, and the numbers don’t look good. The Judge has consistently been one of the lowest rated programs on Fox Business Network’s prime time lineup –- and trending lower.

October numbers to date prove to be Napolitano’s lowest rated month for total viewers (P2+) since May ’11, and the absolute lowest rated month in the demo all year, averaging a measly 50,000 total viewers, with 8,000 in the demo. He’s also down 10% in total viewers, and a whopping 43% in the demo just since last month. To make matters worse, he loses more than half of the audience that the network’s top-rated Lou Dobbs Tonight brings in on a regular basis.

This can’t be going over well with the top brass over at Fox – and in fact it’s not. A recent Reuters exclusive report by Peter Lauria uncovered an internal memo from network head Kevin Magee reminding the staff to stop trying to be Fox News and to focus on actually being, shocker, a business network. Mediaite can’t help but wonder if that was, in some way, directed at Napolitano, whose show FreedomWatch is the only prime time program that rarely, if ever, focuses on business or the economy. The memo stated “If we give the audience a choice between FNC and the almost-FNC, they will choose FNC every time.” With no other show is that more apparent than with FreedomWatch.

Napolitano has enjoyed a growing media presence; he has a very active presence on Twitter and a new book out. But his nightly show on FBN and his numerous guest appearances on Fox News are clearly a very important promotional platform.

Could it be that the Glenn Beck protégé might be following in his mentors footsteps…off of the Fox News airwaves?

If you are as outraged as I am at the cancellation of Judge Andrew Napolitano's "Freedom Watch," here is something you can do.

Please contact Fox Business to ask them to reverse their decision.

Irena Briganti, Senior Vice President
Media Relations
Phone: 212-301-3608
Fax: 212-819-0816
E-Mail: irena.briganti@foxnews.com

Be respectful but be sure to convey your outrage at this matter, and state that you and many others will boycott the network if the show is taken off the air.

Bingo, I do not know if it would be possible but that could be one of the best things that could come of this for sure.  Many Faux folks who would never in a million years listen to Alex would then stand a very likely chance of being exposed and actually listening to what he says. Grin

Now that Judge Napolitano is free to say whatever he wants without having to explain himself to the Thought Police at FOX, shouldn't the Ron Paul campaign try to recruit him as a spokesman?

If you watch the following you'll know why I ask that question:

WOW!  Great speach!  That's it!  The reason they got rid of him is because he is causing too much of a stir towards RP.  The masses are beginning to awaken to RP and they are scared!  There is only so much poll rigging they can do before folks begin to see the discrepancies...KEEP IT UP JUDGE, WE LOVE YOU!

What an excellent speech. I hope everyone listens to his words; he's standing right out there in full view, bravely pointing to the tyranny that's happening right here and now. Ron Paul should get Judge Napolitano as a running mate.
The rest of the candidates represent furtherance of the surveillance and fear-mongering platform: Ron Paul and Judge Napolitano represent freedom, liberty and the US Constitution and Bill of Rights platform.
Easy choice.

Get him and Lou Dobbs both on GCN.

CNN's ratings dropped 50% in one week when Lou Dobbs got cancelled.

Looks like both Globalist News Networks are trying to kill off any info-tainment news.

This was posted to the Judge's Facebook (2/13/12)...

Dear Friends--

Many of you are not happy with the cancellation of FreedomWatch, and you have sent emails to my Fox colleagues expressing that unhappiness. In television, shows are cancelled all the time. Two of my former shows have been cancelled, and after each cancellation, Fox has rewarded me with more and better work. This cancellation--along with others that accompanied it--was the result of a business judgment here, and is completely unrelated to the FreedomWatch message. It would make a world of a difference for all of us, if you would KINDLY STOP SENDING EMAILS TO FOX.

I am well. Your values are strong. I will continue to articulate those values here at Fox. But the emails many of you are sending are unfairly interfering with my work and that of my colleagues here. The emails even violate our values because they interfere with the use of private property. I have accepted the cancellation decision with good cheer and a sense of gearing up for the future. You should as well.

As a favor to me, and as I have asked this past weekend, PLEASE STOP SENDING EMAILS TO MY COLLEAGUES AT FOX ABOUT THE CANCELLATION OF FreedomWatch; and please stop NOW.

All the best, apn.

Maybe, maybe not.  It really depends on what this "gearing up for the future" comment means.  He has also alluded to some other things being in the works for him at FOX as well, so perhaps the basic message he's trying to convey is that he is experiencing some backlash during negotiations for more stuff/airtime/whatever due to the inflow of comments deriding FOX for their recent decision.

We just don't know.  Sure, we can speculate all day... and I would imagine that most of the comment emails they're getting are extremely speculative, to put it lightly (probably more like outright accusatory).

Since we don't know, it's not an odd request.  It's not as eloquent as we would expect from the Judge, but hey, we don't know what kind of pressure he's under either.  It's all speculation and conjecture at this point.

One of the last and only remaining leaks in the mainstream media machine was plugged this week as Freedom Watch was cancelled by Fox Business Channel. This signals a major blow to truth seekers and people of a generally open and less sheep-like persuasion. In contrast to the reactionary and demagoguery found in just about every other news show across the vast array of news networks, Freedom Watch and its host Judge Napolitano offered a clear minded and intellectual take on current events and politics that didn't fit the left-right paradigm. Napolitano ranted against undeclared and unnecessary wars, criminal government waste and corruption, and above all stood alone as a beacon, calling for freedom and liberty for all people. He trashed the unconstitutional and Orwellian Patriot Act like a Liberal, and at the same time called for the dissolution of the Department of Education like the most argent conservative. A truly thoughtful and intelligent person does not simply give easily predictable, knee jerk reactions to every piece of news that comes their way.
