Karl Rove may be directly involved

Karl Rove Swept Away By Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin''

The music at the election night party of Newt Gingrich has been eclectic Saturday night, ranging from "Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic to "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.

Former Bush adviser and Fox News analyst Karl Rove was particularly swept up in the latter tune. During his analysis of Saturday's results, Rove said, "That's the sign of a contest that can go on and on and on" -- while the Journey song was playing in the background.

"Well done, Karl Rove," said Fox host Megyn Kelly. "Remember that time he rapped at the White House Correspondents Dinner? He knows his music."

If someone representing the Ron Paul campaign would pursue criminal charges against Karl Rove, perhaps the following image could be made a reality:

There's no chance of that ever happening, however, if people don't get over this paralyzing fear of being called a "sore loser" by the discredited talking point media.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, if you're not an establishment candidate, the presstitutes will call you names anyway.

The real winner of the South Carolina GOP primary is Dr. Ron Paul. He has solidified his spot as the top two contenders in the naionwide primaries. Gingrich's homestate is Virginia and he has admitted to voter fraud of 15% of those voting for him so he is not even on the ballot.

Santorum is still living a lie, he still refuses to see the obvious, he was given Iowa to distract the momentum building in the Ron Paul reLOVEtion.

The last debate exposed it all, it was like watching three kindergarden school kids complaining about stealing each others' finger paints while the only true statesman shined like a well needed lamp in the darkness.

The country sees it clearly and now the country is waking up to the 40+ years of voter fraud that always gives us such talentless anti-American choices like Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, McCain, Romney, Gingrich, Carter, Dole, Biden, etc. They are all CFR, all anti-American globalists, and all magicly rise to the top even though they are clearly inferior choices.

OK, I just pissed my pants.

Why you may ask...I just read an article by none other than Newt Gingrich regarding the Presidential Primary Process and I have to say...

Newt makes some very good points...

Get ready for the ultimate hypocricy from the serial hypocrite...

I am calling for a "Do Over"
Let's Revote in two states in the Presidential Primaries
By NEWT GINGRICH

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120303406539970055.html
FEBRUARY 15, 2008

Democrats are headed for a trainwreck in campaign '08 that threatens to produce a tainted Democratic presidential nominee and, worse, a divisive and delegitimized presidential contest.

Recall that when Michigan and Florida moved up their primaries in defiance of Democratic Party rules earlier this year, the party bosses decided to punish them by unseating their delegates. The Florida and Michigan primaries were turned into beauty contests.

At the time, it seemed like a good move since everyone assumed that the Michigan and Florida delegates wouldn't really matter in the nomination battle. The conventional wisdom was that one Democratic candidate would emerge early in the contest, and arrive at the convention with a comfortable margin of delegates for the nomination.

But the one constant in campaign '08 so far is that the conventional wisdom is wrong. Instead of a sprint, the Democratic race has turned into a slog. And it's now looking more and more likely that the Democratic presidential fight will not produce a clear and decisive winner.

So here's the run-away train careening toward the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August: If the delegate count of both campaigns is still close by the time of the convention, Florida and Michigan's combined 366 delegates will suddenly become very relevant. Instead of uniting behind a nominee, the party will be at war with itself over whether to seat the Michigan and Florida delegates. And Democrats know from hard experience that chaotic, contentious conventions and the nominees they produce (remember Chicago in 1968? San Francisco in 1972?) do not bode well for success in November.

One of the great ironies of this election season is that the very mechanism created by Democrats to avoid contentious conventions like those in Chicago and San Francisco promises to create further chaos in Denver this year.

Superdelegates are really "politician delegates." Superdelegates are technically uncommitted party insiders who can vote for whomever they choose. They were created by the party that prides itself on supposedly representing the common man to be the palace guards of the Democratic establishment. Bill Clinton is a superdelegate, as is Al Gore. They are Democratic Party insiders whose purpose is to put down insurgent campaigns and protect the interests of Democratic politics as usual.

The closeness of the delegate count has set off a furious race between Sens. Clinton and Obama for the superdelegates. But any attempt by either campaign to win with these party insiders what they couldn't win with the voting public would destroy not only the prospects of the "victorious" candidate, but the prospects of the Democratic Party itself.

So the Democrats are caught in a double-bind: Disenfranchising the voters in Michigan and Florida while allowing party insiders to pick the party's nominee has all the makings of a Democratic civil war.

You might think that as a Republican I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do. All of us do. A tainted or "stolen" Democratic nomination has the potential to delegitimize the election itself and its outcome. And tainted victories produce hobbled administrations. Much as I might have agreed with the outcome of the 2000 general election, the rancor and vitriol it produced created divisions among Americans where none naturally existed before, irreparably damaging the Bush administration.

Contrary to the political consultants' handiwork and the mainstream media's mythmaking, America is not a nation fundamentally divided between red and blue. We are surprisingly united on the core values that make us Americans and the practical solutions to the challenges we face. We need an election process with the integrity to produce a nominee who can lead this natural majority.

The question is: How?

Giving the Michigan and Florida delegates to Sen. Clinton -- particularly in light of reports that she bent the Democratic Party rules against campaigning in both states -- is a recipe for even more chaos.

On the other hand, leaving the Florida and Michigan delegates unseated runs the risk for the Democrats of alienating two big states they want and need to win in November.

The answer, for the integrity of the process, is a do-over: Hold the Michigan and Florida Democratic primaries again.

The voters -- not the party insiders -- have the moral authority to choose the nominee. Democratic voters in Michigan and Florida should get that chance. Then in November, we'll have a fair fight. And I'll be honest -- it may not help the chances for a Republican victory in the fall.

But it will help something even more important: the integrity of our political process.

I used to think there were limits to the sadistic hypocricy that a human being could vomit on society. Newt just proved me wrong.

Paul needs to go third party now while he still has momentum.  time to cash in his chips.  the powers that be aren't going to allow him to get further while playing by their rules.  switch the game up on them.  He gets a massive influx of cash to bring the message home, gets put on the Presidential ticket before he seems like too much of a "loser" by the media, and can then sit back and let the remaining republican candidates tear each other apart while he watches from the nice comfy box seat.

There is a back up plan in place. And all I have to say is that I hope that Ron Paul supporters registered in time to be their local delegate. If they did and we have a brokered convention then Dr Paul wins. It's not the ideal way, of course we would like to win out right but the Paul campaign had 4 years to devise this strategy so lets hope it works. I got the letter a week before I needed to register and wasn't able to, so I hope someone else that was a Paul supporter in my area was able to do so.

Why would you push the overtly obvious Bilderberg Controlled Media talking points?

He is winning the GOP primary, he already retired 4 former front runners...

Michelle Bachmann (IRS LEAD TERRORIST) ... Quit!

Herman Cain (CHAIRMAN OF THE KANSAS CITY FEDERAL RESERVE) ... Quit!

Jon Huntsman (ROTHSCHILD BEST FRIEND MULTI BILLIONAIRE) ... Quit!

Santorum is next, then Gingrich (unless they commit over 80% vote switching.

In a two man race, Ron Paul wins easily.

Also, 300 million American citizens know who Ron Paul is thanks to his strategy.

Republican know they are going to lose with Gingrich or Rommney, it is so fricking obvious.

They know Ron Paul is winning, we know he is winning.

The whole point of their fake results is to create apathy and convince us that all is lost and there is no point in defending the constitution.

If that was true, they wouldn't fricking be writing 100,000 articles a week against ROn Paul, they would not censor any mention of him on their totally discredited media, they would not pay Powell Tate Billions to sabotage the American electoral process.

If all was really lost, they would not bother committing voter fraud!

But they did, their greatest fear is that we continue expanding the reach of the message of liberty in spite of their chicken shit operations that are exposed in real time.

While there is undoubtedly vote fraud at play, I agree with Alex that the fraudsters can't steal an election from a candidate if that candidate has an overwhelming lead in the polls, because then it's way too obvious.

And the sad reality is that all the polls this month had Ron Paul at 20% or below in South Carolina:

     http://www.ronpaul.com/2012-ron-paul/ron-paul-polls/

Thus, all the neocon political machine has to do to alter the outcome of the SC primary is raise one candidate a few percentage points at the expense of one or more of the other candidates.

Are Karl Rove types to blame? Of course. But as others in this thread have rightly pointed out, so too are the many thousands of bloodthirsty Christianoid types:

       http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance87.html
       http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance123.html

       http://www.antiwar.com/orig/dow.php?articleid=4127
       http://www.antiwar.com/orig/whitehurst.php?articleid=3842

Why? Because they consistently make things much easier for Karl Rove and company to do their dirty work than would otherwise be the case.

(That's how I see it, anyway.)

Indeed. I was thinking the same thing earlier as the result became depressingly obvious. The fraud won't stop no matter how many minions go to prison, so the only answer is landslide victories. Unfortunately the general public are off being morons somewhere.

I was reading through comments on the Guardian earlier and some guy said he'll vote for Nader or Paul in the general election, assuming they run. Then he said he's voting for Stephen Colbert in the SC primary. I mean it's bad enough having the geopolitical awareness of my cat, but some of these idiots can't even get basic logic right.

But yeah, we just have to keep plugging away on either side of the pond and hope we reach a tipping point.

Newt Gingrich has convincingly beaten Mitt Romney in South Carolina's primary election, the latest leg in the battle to be the Republican candidate in November's US presidential poll.

With 70% of the vote counted, Mr Gingrich had 40% to Mr Romney's 28%.

Mr Romney was widely seen as the frontrunner, but the latest outcome is set to turn the race into a long, hard-fought campaign, correspondents say.

The South Carolina victor has won the nomination in each election since 1980.

Other Republican hopefuls, former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and Texas representative Ron Paul are trailing badly, with 18% and 13% respectively.
Knockout punch plea

US networks called the vote in the former House speaker's favour shortly after polls closed at 19:00 local time on Saturday (00:00 GMT Sunday), as exit polls predicted a wide margin of victory for Mr Gingrich.

BBC North America editor Mark Mardell, in South Carolina, says a Gingrich win is important, because all along the story of this race has been the search by Conservatives for an alternative to Mitt Romney.

It is just possible they have settled on Mr Gingrich, and at the very least such a result will puncture the sense that eventually Mr Romney will triumph, our correspondent adds.

Shortly after the vote, Mr Gingrich wrote on Twitter: "Thank you South Carolina! Help me deliver the knockout punch in Florida," referring to the next nominating contest on 31 January.

The contest for that state is now seen as crucial, being a major battleground state in the US general election, with a diverse electorate and where a lot of money will be spent campaigning.

Several hours later, Mr Gingrich appeared at his campaign headquarters in the state capital Columbia - to wild cheers from his supporters.

"We don't have the kind of money that at least one of the candidates has, but we do have ideas and we do have people and we have proved here in South Carolina that people power with the right ideas beats big money and with your help we are going to prove it again in Florida," he said.

Earlier, Mr Romney told his supporters they were "three contests into a long primary season" and vowed to fight for every vote in every state.

Meanwhile, Mr Santorum pledged to fight on, saying: "It's a wide open race".

Mr Gingrich has captured the headlines in recent days, batting off a potentially damaging interview from an ex-wife, in which she said he had wanted an "open marriage".

Assuming Mr Gingrich's victory is confirmed, it means that three different candidates have won the first three nominating state-by-state contests: Mr Santorum narrowly beat Mr Romney in the Iowa caucus, while Mr Romney claimed the New Hampshire primary.

All contenders agree that this will now be an endurance race, rather than the quick sprint which Team Romney had hoped for, the BBC's Steve Kingstone says.

Mr Romney must now adapt his strategy, and come up with a more decisive riposte to those who criticise his personal wealth and career record as a venture capitalist, our correspondent says.

Expect a brutal media war in Florida, he adds.

Mr Romney set the tone in his post-defeat address, accusing Newt Gingrich of aligning himself with President Obama in a "frontal assault on free enterprise". For his part, Gingrich will counter that the "Massachusetts moderate" is the real Obama clone.

Primaries and caucuses will be held in every US state over the next few months to pick a Republican nominee before the eventual winner is anointed at the party convention in August to take on Democratic President Barack Obama in November.

We are playing for something bigger than this one presidential election. The message of liberty is deafening to the New World Order. THis is not about winning one of their fixed elections, this is about restoring the republic and it cannot be done by only one person, Ron Paul is the de facto spiritual leader of the constitutional republic at the moment.

By simply showing us truth in the face of their deceptions, America is restoring its morality and its confidence in the future.  Do you know how many times Ghandi was elected as Prime Minister?

Do you know how many times Martin Luther King was elected president, senator, congressman, governor, mayor?

I am not sure what kind of big picture ou are looking at, but this country is on an express train to disaster thanks to Bilderberg crimes against humanity using our armed forces to be used for their population reduction operations. The same banksters have stolen over $15 Trillion.

These banksters have destroyed Russia, Germany, China by forcing them into hyperinflation and destablization operations, then offering them a fake revolution.

NOW THE TARGET IS ON AMERICA'S BACK!

We are learning what this country is all about so that we can expose their operations before another Rothschild fnded puppet like Mao, Stalin, Hitler gets any real following. Americans everywhere now are waking up to the true enemies to the country, and that is their greatest fear. If Ron Paul's momentum continues, then their entire fake party dystopia will be depleated of 90% of its power to keep us in perpetual darkness.

Then vote Romney dude, he is such an awesome "winner".

And what makes  you think that the primaries are fixed but the general election is not (this argument continues to shatter the Bilderberg talking point about third party nonsense).

Just stop for a minute and think about this...

If ou had a choice of picking 3 bafoons to run against Ron Paul you could not find more inferior candidates than Romney, Gingrich, and Santorum.

Bilderberg is trying to convince us that these guys are winning the primary state battles.

Just stop and think about that for a minute.

Newt Gingrich regularly cancels his speeches because less than 20 people show up and they all call him an asshole.

THERE IS NO WAY GINGRICH COULD WIN AN ELECTION FOR HIGH SCHOOL PRESIDENT MUCH LESS A PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY.

BILDERBERG IS OVER-CONFIDENT AND THEY ARE SCREING UP BIG TIME.

THEY THINK HALF THE PEOPLE WILL JUST THINK IT IS TRUE AND THE OTHER HALF WILL BE SO FRUSTRATED AND FULL OF APATHY.

Karl Rove’s chief IT consultant, Mike Connell—who was facing subpoena in connection with 2004 Presidential election fraud in Ohio—mysteriously died in a private plane crash in 2008.  Connell was allegedly the central figure in a longstanding plot to electronically flip votes to Republicans.

In July 2008, Connell was named as a key witness in the case known as King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell, which was filed against Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth J. Blackwell on August 31, 2006 by Columbus attorneys Clifford Arnebeck and Robert Fitrakis. It initially charged Blackwell with racially discriminatory practices—including the selective purging of voters from the election rolls and the unequal allocation of voting machines to various districts—and asked for measures to be taken to prevent similar problems during the November 2006 election.

On October 9, 2006, an amended complaint added charges of various forms of ballot rigging as also having the effect of “depriving the plaintiffs of their voting rights, including the right to have their votes successfully cast without intimidation, dilution, cancellation or reversal by voting machine or ballot tampering.” A motion to dismiss the case as moot was filed following the November 2006 election, but it was instead stayed to allow for settlement discussions.

The case took on fresh momentum in July 2008 when Arnebeck announced that he was filing to “lift the stay in the case and proceed with targeted discovery in order to help protect the integrity of the 2008 election.” The new filing was inspired in part by the coming forward as a whistleblower of GOP IT security expert Stephen Spoonamore, who said he was prepared to testify to the plausibility of electronic vote-rigging having been carried out in 2004. The stay was lifted September 19, 2008 and Connell was served a subpoena on September 22.

Spoonamore, a conservative Republican who works for big banks, international governments, and the Secret Service as an expert in the detection of computer fraud, found evidence that Karl Rove, with the help of Mike Connell and his company GovTech Solutions, electronically stole the Ohio 2004 election for Bush.

Spoonamore testified that the “vote tabulation system [which Connell designed] allowed the introduction of an additional single computer between computer A and computer B.” This is called a “man in the middle” attack. According to Spoonamore, “This centralized collection of all incoming statewide tabulations would make it easy for a single operator, or a preprogrammed ‘force balancing computer’ to change the results in any way desired by the team controlling the Computer C.” Spoonamore further testified that the only purpose for such man in the middle architecture is to commit crime.
Despite Connell’s efforts to quash his subpoena to testify, he was ordered to appear for a two-hour, closed-door deposition on November 3, 2008, just eighteen hours before the 2008 national election. Though Connell had expressed willingness to testify, he was reticent after receiving threats from Rove.

Arnebeck presents evidence that Karl Rove threatened Connell, cautioning that if Connell didn’t “take the fall” for election fraud in Ohio, Connell would face prosecution for supposed lobby law violations.  After this threat, Arnebeck sent letters to the Department of Justice, as well as messages to high-ranking members of the department, seeking protection for Connell and his family from attempts to intimidate. Despite Connell’s elite status as a top-rung Republican consultant for years, whose firm New Media Communications provided IT services for the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign, the US Chamber of Commerce, the Republican National Committee, and many Republican candidates and campaigns, witness protection requests went unheeded.

Election fraud analyst and author Mark Crispin Miller notes that the timing and circumstances of Connell’s death—between deposition and trial—are too suspicious and convenient for Rove and the Bush administration, not to merit a thorough investigation. Arnebeck and Fitrakis intended to both further depose and call Connell to testify as key witness in the federal conspiracy case. Connell was also to be questioned about his key role in the disappearance of thousands of White House-RNC email transactions. These emails are believed likely to have shed light on the White House role in the political firings of US Attorneys, as well as decisions to prosecute former Alabama Democratic Governor Don Siegelman.  Attorneys in the case said that Connell’s testimony would likely lead to the subpoenaing and under-oath questioning of Karl Rove.

Connell was an experienced pilot. His plane had been recently serviced. He had been in the nation’s capital on still-unknown business before his single engine plane crashed December 22, 2008 on the way home, just three miles short of the runway in Akron, Ohio.  The cause of the crash remains unknown.

Timing of Connell’s deposition may have saved the 2008 presidential elections from electronic theft. However, Bev Harris at Black Box Voting notes that man in the middle systems are still in place in Illinois, Colorado, Kentucky, and likely across the nation.1

Update by Larisa Alexandrovna

The extreme vulnerability of electronic voting systems to systematic fraud has fallen out of public awareness because it did not become a major issue during the 2008 elections, but the problem has never been resolved or even seriously examined by any official body.  Questions about alleged vote count irregularities in Ohio during the 2004 election remain the strongest indication of the potential for large-scale tampering with these systems.  The lawsuit, which sought testimony from GOP information technology expert Michael Connell as to any personal knowledge he might have had of those irregularities, has represented the most determined effort to get at the truth beyond these allegations.

Michael Connell testified under subpoena in November 2008 but died the following month, when his single-engine plane crashed as he was attempting to land at an Ohio airport near his home.  At the time of his death, the only mainstream news outlet to even mention Connell’s death and the controversies surrounding his involvement in electronic voting was a single CBS/AP story.
However, there appears to have been no direct response in the mainstream press to the articles on Connell published by Raw Story. In fact, a deafening silence on his alleged relationship with the Bush White House has prevailed, even after his sudden and tragic death in December of 2008.

The case of King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association v. Blackwell is still ongoing.

Update by Brad Friedman
Little of note has changed since the death of Mike Connell as this book goes to press.  The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is still investigating, but is likely not to release a final report until mid to late 2010. They released a preliminary report, however, indicating decreasing visibility at the Akron airport, with visibility still at 2.5 miles at the time of the crash and temperatures just above freezing.  According to the NTSB report, and confirmed via transcripts and tapes received via FOIA requests, Connell radioed to ask “whether there were any reports of icing, to which air traffic control [ATC] responded that there were no reports.”

The tapes and transcripts indicate that something suddenly happened up there, as his last words to ATC, recorded on tape, were a declaration of emergency followed quickly by “Oh, f**k,” before he was not heard from again.

Curiously, for a man as well connected to the very top echelons of the Republican Party as Connell was, no GOP officials, or George W. Bush, or John McCain, or Karl Rove, to my knowledge, ever issued a public statement upon his tragic death.

For the time being, the Ohio voting rights case has been stalled since Connell’s death. Cliff Arnebeck continues to investigate how he plans to move forward, and is considering broader subpoenas in hopes of taking depositions from, among others, Karl Rove, as he widens the scope of his conspiracy case.

Sources close to the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim sent us a copy of the following letter that asks Attorney General Mukasey for protection for Michael Connell and his family who have been allegedly threatened by Karl Rove. Rove is believed to be the strategic mastermind behind the Bush 2004 re-election campaign and the possible Ohio election improprieties. The alleged threats appear to be the result of the re-opening, through the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim, of the stalled investigation into the 2004 Ohio Elections.
Date: Thu, 24 Jul 2008 13:50:55 EDT

Subject: Report of Rove threats against witness Michael Connell

Dear Attorney General Mukasey:

We have been confidentially informed by a source we believe to be credible that Karl Rove has threatened Michael Connell, a principal witness we have identified in our King Lincoln case in federal court in Columbus, Ohio, that if he does not agree to "take the fall" for election fraud in Ohio, his wife Heather will be prosecuted for supposed lobby law violations. This appears to be in response to our designation of Rove as the principal perpetrator in the Ohio Corrupt Practices Act/RICO claim with respect to which we issued document hold notices last Thursday to you and to the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Legal Reform.

See: http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6189 and http://www.archive.org/details/ElectionFraudInOhioCourtCase.

I have informed court chambers and am in the process of informing the Ohio Attorney General's and US Attorney's offices in Columbus for the purpose, among other things, of seeking protection for Mr. Connell and his family from this reported attempt to intimidate a witness.

Concurrently herewith, I am informing Mr. Conyers and Mr. Kucinich in connection with their Congressional oversight responsibilities related to these matters.

Because of the serious engagement in this matter that began in 2000 of the Ohio Statehouse Press Corps, 60 Minutes, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, C-Span and Jim VandeHei, and the public's right to know of gross attempts to subvert the rule of law, I am forwarding this information to them, as well.

Will Karl Rove bury the record of his 2004 election theft?
http://freepress.org/departments/display/19/2011/4046
by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman
January 10, 2011

An epic legal battle now rages between Karl Rove and Ohio election rights attorneys. The question is whether the public has the right to see full transcripts of a court deposition that could shed explosive new light on the bitterly contested presidential election of 2004.

The deposition came from the late Michael Connell, Rove's IT guru. Connell died in a mysterious plan crash in December 2008, one month after he spoke under oath to election protection attorney Clifford O. Arnebeck. Connell had implanted the state-contracted software used to compute Ohio's electronic voting tabulations during the contest between Bush and John Kerry.

On December 10, 2010, attorneys in the King-Lincoln-Bronzeville Neighborhood Association case moved to release the Connell transcript in an ongoing legal struggle with Rove and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The King-Lincoln case was filed in 2006 by attorney Arnebeck alleging civil rights violations against blacks, young voters and others in Ohio's 2004 election process.

Connell's November 3, 2008 deposition in Cleveland concerned his role in the 2004 election and whether or not he was being threatened by Rove. Just over a month later on December 19, 2008, Connell died in the mysterious crash of his small plane near his Akron, Ohio, home. Suspicions of foul play surround the accident.

The Connell deposition has been sealed since his death. During the closing days of the 2010 election, King-Lincoln attorneys sought the deposition of Karl Rove in connection with his activities involving the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in all Ohio elections since 2000.

Rove and Chamber attorneys, as well as the Ohio Attorney General's office, claimed that there was no connection between Connell's deposition and more recent activities involving Rove and the Chamber.

Connell's attorney, James L. Ervin, represented Connell at the deposition and also represented Connell's estate. He filed papers with the court asking for a 30-day extension of time to file a response to the court on December 27, 2010 regarding the opening of Connell's deposition.

According to Ervin, "Mr. Connell's deposition is comprised of questions, answers, and topics that are privileged and/or confidential and are reflected as such by being designated 'sealed.'" No part of Connell's deposition has of yet been made public.

Arnebeck told how Connell described what he did: "One, he integrated voter data files with the vote tabulation process in the Ohio Secretary of State's office in the 2004 election and two, he broadened the accessibility to this information, including facilitating its appearance on a mirror site at the SmartTech offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee."

"His testimony provided facts of a general nature. He did not, as suggested by his counsel, reveal or discuss anything that could be fairly described as a trade secret or an expert opinion," Arnebeck asserted.

In the spring and summer prior to Connell's deposition, contacts were made on behalf of Connell with both U.S. Representatives John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich in an attempt to have Connell testify before Congress regarding his role in the 2004 election.

Memorandum to U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich [PDF]

Ervin's motion before the court states: "During calendar year 2009, Mr. Connell's businesses, New Media Communications and GovTech Solutions, came under new ownership, and Mr. Connell's Estate was probated."

These pleadings before the court may offer insight into who exactly owns Connell's election computer businesses. Ervin's motion states: "because the deposition transcript addresses issues that constituted privilege and/or proprietary matters, the new ownership of Connell's former businesses may have an interest in the deposition transcripts and may be the owners of the transcript."

Ervin concludes "Decisions must be made as to who owns Mr. Connell's 2008 deposition transcript...." This same line of argument has been used to allow private vendors to use secret proprietary source code in election software.

In a democratic society, the people should own Connell's deposition. Karl Rove should testify under oath about the electronic machinery Connell devised to link Ohio's 2004 real-time vote count to an obscure company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. That company was SmarTech, which according to public records, was hosting a website that was operating out of the White House on that election night.

Says Arnebeck: "Mr. Connell's testimony is important to the plaintiffs and the public because it reveals how those seeking to steal the 2004 Presidential election in the State of Ohio, led by Karl Rove, were better able to do so through the utilization of these integrated data files and more accessible tabulation processes. SmarTech was simultaneously serving the electronic data processes for the George W. Bush presidential campaign in that election."

Is this how foreign company infiltrated D.C. elections.? Former U.S. elections officer now working private voting-system firm.

By Aaron Klein

A U.S. elections officer who served in voting districts that partnered with a controversial online voting firm recently retired from his government position to work for the firm in question, the foreign-headquartered company SCYTL.

KleinOnline reported yesterday that SCYTL has faced questions about the security of its electronic voting technologies, which are now set to be deployed in 900 U.S. jurisdictions.
The firm already provides balloting for overseas U.S. military and civilian voting in nine states along with elections technologies in several districts.

Concerns have also been raised about SCYTL’s ties to the Spanish government and to international venture capital firms. Also, SCYTL overseas Internet balloting in foreign countries worldwide.

In October, it was announced that Paul Stenbjorn, the executive director of the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics, resigned from his position to take a job at SCYTL as director of U.S. operations.

Prior to joining SCYTL, he also served as information services manager for the Virginia State Board of Elections.

D.C.’s Board of Elections and Ethics is the independent agency of the district government responsible for the administration of elections, ballot access and voter registration.

While Stenbjorn was working for the D.C. elections and ethics board he was directly involved in testing a SCYTL system that had been deployed in the district to provide voting technologies during the November 2010 midterm elections.

Just prior to the midterms, it was Stenbjorn who opened D.C.’s Internet-based voting system for a weeklong test period, inviting computer experts from all corners to prod its vulnerabilities.

A group of University of Michigan students responded to Stenbjorn’s call and hacked into the site, commanding it to play the University of Michigan fight song upon casting a vote.

“The integrity of the system had been violated,” Stenbjorn told the Washington Post after the Michigan students infiltrated the system.

Stenbjorn said that because of the hack, a portion of the Internet voting pilot was being temporarily scrapped.

He told the Post the security hole that allowed the playing of the fight song had been identified, but it raised deeper concerns about the system’s vulnerabilities.

“We’ve closed the hole they opened, but we want to put it though more robust testing,” he said. “I don’t want there to be any doubt. … This is an abundance-of-caution sort of thing.”

After the hack, Stenjborn’s ethics board decided to relaunch the Internet program under a download-only format, allowing users to access ballots but forcing them to fax or mail them rather than cast a vote online.

Still, his D.C. elections board was hailed as “[leading] the nation in attempting to overcome the security obstacles and offer e-voting.”

While on the elections board, Stenjborn told the website Broadband and Social Justice that voting “is many, many years away, more than a decade, possibly more than a generation away.”

National security concerns

With the purchase of SOE Software, meanwhile, SCYTL has increased its involvement in the U.S. elections process. SOE Software boasts a strong U.S. presence, providing results in over 900 jurisdictions.

In 2009, SCYTL formally registered with the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (AEC) as the first Internet voting manufacturer in the U.S. under the EAC Voting System Testing and Certification Program.

Also that year, SCYTL entered into an agreement with another firm, Hart InterCivic, to jointly market a flexible and secure electronic pollbook purportedly to allow U.S. election officials and poll workers to easily manage the electoral roll on Election Day in an efficient and convenient manner.

SCYTL’s ePollBookTM already replaced the paper precinct roster in Washington, D.C.

During the midterm elections in November 2010, SCYTL successfully carried out electoral modernization projects in 14 states. The company boasted that a “great variety” of SCYTL’s technologies were involved in the projects, including an online platform for the delivery of blank ballots to overseas voters, an Internet voting platform and e-pollbook software to manage the electoral roll at the polling stations.

The states that used SCYTL’s technologies during the Midterms were New York, Texas, Washington, California, Florida, Alabama, Missouri, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Nebraska, West Virginia and Washington D.C.

Just prior to the midterm’s however, the new electronic voting system in Washington, D.C., was hacked.

As a program security trial, the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics reportedly encouraged outside parties to hack and find flaws in its new online balloting system. A group of University of Michigan students then hacked into the site and commanded it to play the school’s fight song upon casting a vote.

This is not the first time SCYTL’S systems have been called into question

Voter Action, an advocacy group that seeks elections integrity in the U.S., sent a lengthy complaint to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission in April 2010 charging the integration of SCYTL systems “raises national security concerns.”

“Foreign governments may also seek to undermine the national security interests of the United States, either directly or through other organizations,” Voter Action charged.

The document notes that SCYTL was founded in 2001 as a spinoff from a research group at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, which was partially funded by the Spanish government’s Ministry of Science and Technology.

SCYTL’s headquarters are in Barcelona with offices in Washington, D.C., Singapore, Bratislava and Athens.

Project Vote noted that in 2008, the Florida Department of State commissioned a review of SCYTL’s remote voting software and concluded, in part, that:
The system is vulnerable to attack from insiders.
In a worst case scenario, the software could lead to (1) voters being unable to cast votes; (2) an election that does not accurately reflect the will of the voters; and (3) possible disclosure of confidential information, such as the votes cast by individual voters.
The system may be subject to attacks that could compromise the integrity of the votes cast.

NOTE: An earlier edition of this article identified the venture capital firm that invested in SCYTL as the emerging markets investment management firm, Spinnaker Capital Group. The actual SCYTL investor is another company with a similar name, the Spanish venture capital firm Spinnaker SCR. Neither Spinnaker Capital Group nor its director, Bob McCarthy, are associated with SCYTL.

Recipe for Vote Fraud: Global Internet Voting Firm Buys U.S. Election Results Reporting Firm

The Ability to Commit Vote Fraud is Becoming Push-Button

[Preface by Washington's Blog: This development comes at an interesting time, when Ron Paul supporters, progressives and the mainstream media are all discussing potential vote fraud.]

By Bev Harris, Black Box Voting

In a major step towards global centralization of election processes, the world’s dominant Internet voting company has purchased the USA’s dominant election results reporting company.

When you view your local or state election results on the Internet, on portals which often appear to be owned by the county elections division, in over 525 US jurisdictions you are actually redirected to a private corporate site controlled by SOE software, which operates under the name ClarityElections.com.

The good news is that this firm promptly reports precinct-level detail in downloadable spreadsheet format. As reported by BlackBoxVoting.org in 2008, the bad news is that this centralizes one middleman access point for over 525 jurisdictions in AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, KY, MI, KS, IL, IN, NC, NM, MN, NY, SC, TX, UT, WA. And growing.

As local election results funnel through SOE’s servers (typically before they reach the public elsewhere), those who run the computer servers for SOE essentially get “first look” at results and the ability to immediately and privately examine vote details throughout the USA.

In 2004, many Americans were justifiably concerned when, days before the presidential election, Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell redirected Ohio election night results through the Tennessee-based server for several national Republican Party operations.

This is worse: This redirects results reporting to a centralized privately held server which is not just for Ohio, but national; not just USA-based, but global.

A mitigation against fraud by SOE insiders has been the separation of voting machine systems from the SOE results reports. Because most US jurisdictions require posting evidence of results from each voting machine at the precinct, public citizens can organize to examine these results to compare with SOE results. Black Box Voting spearheaded a national citizen action to videotape / photograph these poll tapes in 2008.

With the merger of SOE and SCYTL, that won’t work (if SCYTL’s voting system is used). When there are two truly independent sources of information, the public can perform its own “audit” by matching one number against the other.

These two independent sources, however, will now be merged into one single source: an Internet voting system controlled by SCYTL, with a results reporting system also controlled by SCYTL.

With SCYTL internet voting, there will be no ballots. No physical evidence. No chain of custody. No way for the public to authenticate who actually cast the votes, chain of custody, or the count.

SCYTL is moving into or already running elections in: the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, India and Australia.

SCYTL is based in Barcelona; its funding comes from international venture capital funds including Nauta Capital, Balderton Capital and Spinnaker.

So we don't have to buy into all that nonsense about DEMOCRACY now ;D ;D ;D ;D
This is great news.  I'm gonna call my man Obama and let him know that he is free to go home to Kenya.
He will be relieved to hear the news. This charade is really wearing on us all, but,  especially him.
For as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom — for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

This is a two man race between Romney and Paul. Santorum and Gingrich are not on the ballot for 500 delegates worth of states. They are not, and will not be on the ballot in other states besides just Virginia. They have no grassroots support and virtually "zero" ground game. They cannot win the nomination.

Ohio Attorneys Seek Protection for Mike Connell and his Family against Alleged Threats from Karl Rove

[UPDATE1: 12/21/2008 - added link to newer compilation of background links - luaptifer; originally posted 2008-07-24 13:18:54 -0500]]

Venture Capitalist Company Balderton

Who runs Balderton?

Goldman Sachs and McKinsey!

You cannot make this shit up!

You knew Goldman Sachs would be involved.  If Ron Paul became president,  the Federal Reserve would quit shoveling all this money to Goldman Sachs and all of these other ZOMBIE banks.
