The soldier came back to talk when Ron Paul was making his speech, that was cool.

Really cool.  Nothing like seeing young people.  Valley High School is in a very wealthy area of Des Moines.

So you are confirming that it was not simply a technical difficulty, but instead, censorship while maintaining the illusion that it was a technical difficulty...?

WITHOUT QUESTION.  I had to change channels because I really wanted to see that soldier talk.  And then Ron Paul talked after the soldier talked.  I can't really give you a # of minutes, but I think CNN cut off at least 5 to 7 minutes from the Ron Paul coverage.  I was glad I saw Ron Paul again and the soldier.

Nope but that kinda looked familiar to when World Trace Center building 7 / Salomon Brothers building was being reported to have already collapsed but it wasn't demolished by explosives yet.

Remember that?

EDIT: Well actually Blitzer says "Uh, we just lost their [couldn't understand] unfortunately, [couldn't understand again] Stand-by, [couldn't understand] if you can hear me, we're going to get back"

But that's all I hear properly due to the quality of the audio recording

Ron Paul Speech After The Iowa Caucus Result "WE WILL GO ON!"

CNN cut away from their coverage of Ron Paul at around the 9 minute mark and went to some other speech BUT THEY DID NOT PLAY ANYTHING AFTER  AROUND THE 9 MINUTE MARK.  AMAZING.   I had to go to MSNBC of all places to see the rest of the Ron Paul speech.

I can see that the 1st incident was a "TECHNICAL DIFFICULTY".

But the 2nd was not---CNN cut away while MSNBC played on with the post-caucus Ron Paul Speech that included the soldier's speech.

Yes, I believe they censored him twice--maybe because he has a 9/11 tattoo on his neck.

That was what I also saw. I believe they were going to try and spin the comments about Ron Paul but were unprepared to counter the Israel comment.

Can't have the public hearing it like it really is from someone who has firsthand knowledge.

Exactly! When Israel comes into the picture, there is always censorship unless it's the "politically correct" (Neocon view)! Interesting time to cut the feed CNN. You just told on yourself, once again!

Why is there no integrity on any issue regarding Israel?

I think Dana Trash (that's what she is) of CNN saw the 911 tatoo on the soldier and honed in on him. She didn't get the reaction she thought she might. So the CENSORSHIP wing of CNN went to work and got her out of her problem!

Yeah, CNN couldn't have an honest soldier talking about Israel or Iran when the world was watching the election results! However, Dana was allowed to reinvoke 911 whenever she wants, to keep the fearmongering going of idiots in America who are clueless, so they will go along with these NEOCON wars of empire and Elite agenda, rather than necessity!   Angry

Army Cpl. Jesse Thorsen spoke during Paul's speech at his headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, Tuesday night. Paul invited Thorsen to speak on stage after a technical glitch cut short an earlier live interview on CNN.

Guidelines laid out in the federal Hatch Act specifically prohibit uniformed members of the military from making political speeches or taking official roles on political campaigns. Members of the military are permitted to attend political rallies, but must not be wearing their uniform while in attendance. On stage with Paul, Thorsen was wearing green Army fatigues.

CNN is more interested in harrassing a military man laying his life on the line for ~them,~ than getting some news?  wow.  A man *they chose* to interview?

Talk about a setup.  Talk about military not having free speech.  I would think Oathkeepers would go wild with this.  There is no reason a military person can't have an opinion on anything, whether in or out of uniform.

I don't go for this "while in uniform" thing.  This is dangerous when military are supposed to think for themselves and have a duty to not follow unfit orders!

Everyone ~knows~ a military person speaking, whether in uniform or not, is expressing his own views, not that of the entire military.

Man... a lot of the comments from that articles are pissing me off to the point I'm feeling sick.... Just look at this bullsh!t!

"As expected of a Paul supporter. There seems to be an effect he has on them where they ignore all of his faults and the illegitimacy (and illegality) of his ideas and positions."

How is expecting the government to follow it's own rules illegitimate and illegal?! And the worse part is many more commnets follow this insane troll logic! If only I could just call them all government trolls... but no... even if they were it just so sad to see people act like this.... It's like watching a mentally challenged person run around with a gun pointed to their head who laugh at you every time you try to tell them that guns can be dangerous and that they should stop before they hurt themself and others around them...

Army soldier rallying for Paul violated military ban on political activity

CNN
(CNN) Ron Paul spent Tuesday heralding his support among members of the military, but one active-duty supporter may be in trouble after lauding Paul on stage while wearing his Army uniform.

Army Cpl. Jesse Thorsen spoke during Paul's speech at his headquarters in Ankeny, Iowa, Tuesday night. Paul invited Thorsen to speak on stage after a technical glitch cut short an earlier live interview on CNN.

Hey CNN, almost every president  that I can remember has used the joint session of Congress speeches WITH MEN IN MILITARY UNIFORM AS PART OF THEIR SPEECH---ALWAYS POINTING THEM OUT TO THE CROWD AND TO ALL OF US WATCHING THE SPEECHES LIVE.  TELL ME THAT THESE PRESIDENTS WEREN'T DOING THIS FOR POLITICAL GAIN.

HEY CNN, PLEASE LEAVE THIS SOLDIER ALONE BEFORE THEY RENDITION HIM WITH THE NDAA.

HEY CNN, YOU CUT THIS GUY OFF TWO TIMES IN ONE DAY.  MOST PEOPLE DID NOT SEE THE 2ND TIME BUT I SAW IT HERE (LATE NIGHT IN MONTANA).  YOU CUT OFF RON PAUL'S SPEECH (AFTER THE CAUCUS) JUST BEFORE THE SOLDIER WAS GOING TO SPEAK.  YOU CUT OFF RON PAUL AT AROUND THE 9 MINUTE MARK.  I  SWITCHED THE CHANNEL TO MSNBC TO WATCH THE REST OF THE SPEECH.

RON PAUL---FOR THE SOLDIERS EVERYWHERE AND WORLD PEACE

CNN--FOR THE WAR MACHINE (THE MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX) AND FOR MORE WAR THAT YOU CAN GIVE US YOUR TWISTED VIEWS AND STORIES.

I URGE EVERY VETERAN TO WEAR THEIR OLD UNIFORMS TO THESE POLITICAL RALLIES IN SUPPORT OF THE AMERICA I ONCE KNEW GROWING UP.

Uh, yeah, it's part of government, to have a joint session speech, and those "military men in uniform" are the Joint Chiefs of Staff, you know, the guys that run the military, who are part of government.

Session of Congress is a government activity, while a political rally is not government, but a private activity.

But I agree, it's rather low handed to put the guy on camera, then turn around and do a story that he violated the rules by being on their own camera! Hypocrites.

Hypocrisy abounds in this government, military, etc. They constantly violate rules and/or think they don't apply to them, and then dare tell American citizens they are violating a rule? Disgusting!

They also use their rules to dominate and silence the public. This is an excellent example! That soldier is RIGHT and he is being a REAL MAN in saying what he said. When rules silence GOOD AMERICANS, there is something wrong with those rules.

Military is told they MUST NOT follow a command when that command is illegal or violates the Constitution.

It's time for MILITARY PERSONNEL (AND ALL AMERICANS) TO STAND UP AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I WILL NOT FOLLOW ANY ORDER OR RULE THAT IS PUT THERE TO SILENCE ME AND ALLOW THE CRIMINALS TO THRIVE AND DESTROY MY COUNTRY!

Enough, already!

(btw, the soldier was not on Active Duty at the time he appeared on TV)

This is BS soldiers have made speeches in uniform countless times but because its for Dr Ron Paul its not allowed, man so petty.

Soldier at Ron Paul rally could face trouble-CBS

(CBS News)

DES MOINES, Iowa - An Army reservist who took the stage at a political event for Ron Paul and expressed his support for the Republican presidential candidate could face legal troubles, the military said Thursday.

Cpl. Jesse Thorsen, 28, stood at a podium at the Paul rally in Iowa on Tuesday night wearing his military fatigues and said meeting the Texas congressman was like "meeting a rock star."

"His foreign policy is by far, hands down better than any other candidate's out there," Thorsen told the cheering crowd.

Army Reserve spokeswoman Maj. Angel Wallace said participating in a partisan political event in uniform is a violation of Defense Department rules and the military is reviewing whether Thorsen could face legal ramifications. Soldiers are permitted to vote, participate in some political activities and express opinions about candidates as long as they are not in uniform and speaking in an official capacity, she said.

She said Thorsen was not on active duty at the time of Tuesday's rally, but it was not immediately clear if that would have any bearing on the case.

Thorsen "stands alone in his opinions regarding his political affiliation and beliefs, and his statements and beliefs in no way reflect that of the Army Reserve," Wallace said in a statement.

A telephone number for Thorsen could not immediately be found.

At Tuesday's rally at Paul's headquarters Ankeny, Iowa, Paul called Thorsen to join him on stage. Thorsen then shakes his hand before he steps to the podium.

rew Ivers, a spokesman for Paul's Iowa campaign, said the Thorsen's appearance at the rally was spontaneous and not planned by the campaign.

In a separate interview with CNN on Tuesday, Thorsen said he had served in the military for the past decade.

"I'm really excited about a lot of his ideas, especially when it comes to bringing the soldiers home," he told CNN. "I've been serving for 10 years now and all 10 years of those have been during wartime. I would like to see a little peace time Army."

Paul, who finished third in Tuesday's Iowa caucuses, has said if he is elected, he would bring all or nearly all troops home from Afghanistan and other foreign posts.

According to the military, Thorsen had deployed once to Afghanistan in 2009 after first joining the Florida National Guard in July 2001 and the Army Reserve in 2009. The military said he is with an engineer company out of Des Moines, and his unit falls under the 416th Theater Engineer Command out of Darien, Ill.

Court records show that Thorsen was arrested in Lee County, Fla., in December 2004 for three felonies: burglary, theft of a firearm and possession of burglary tools. Details were not available late Thursday.

He pleaded guilty to all three charges the following July but adjudication was withheld, meaning he would have no record. He was sentenced to probation and ordered to pay $660.50 He made regular payments through April 2006 totaling $630.50 but then stopped, the records show. In May 2006, he was ruled in violation of his probation and was arrested three weeks later in Tampa, spending three days in jail. In August 2006, he appeared before a judge in Lee County, who reinstated his probation. His probation ended in March 2007.

Wallace said the military was looking into the arrests. They were first reported by www.militarycorruption.com.

Come on, give us a break.  Not the generals-----the grunts, the Medal of Honor winners and others that are heroes.

I think you misunderstand the context of what I was saying. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I referenced the Joint Chiefs because that's who they point out at every speech, along with shots of the Supreme Court, etc. They will also have others in the audience in uniform, various ranks, down to the enlisteds that do in fact do the bulk of the work in the military. I know, I was enlisted myself 4 years honorable in the US Navy. Your preaching to the choir about who does the work in the military.

Hey I was a surgeon in the US Army taking care of the 1st Cav. at Fort Hood, TX.  We worked our butts off taking care of 15,000 soldiers and their dependents.
