we petition the obama administration to:
Abolish the TSA, and use its monstrous budget to fund more sophisticated, less intrusive counter-terrorism intelligence.

The Transportation Security Administration has been one of the largest, most expensive and most visible blunders of the post-9-11 homeland security reformation. It has violated countless constitutional rights of average Americans, caused miserable and expensive delays in an already-overburdened air travel system, and allowed multiple known instances of harassment, theft, extortion and sexual abuse by its employees. It has failed approximately 70% of undercover efficacy tests, and for all its excesses, has been unable to catch even a single terrorist since its creation. In our current economic situation, we can no longer afford to continue wasting taxpayer dollars on this kafkaesque embarrassment. Let us instead invest in saner, more effective solutions.

Needs 5000 petitions in 30 days.

"Abolish the TSA, and use its monstrous budget to fund more sophisticated, less intrusive counter-terrorism intelligence."

Not that either.  What would it be?  Pre-crime-esque tactics?  Behavioral facial recognition?  Video from brain scans?

We all know what would work best.  Allow law-abiding citizens to carry aircraft-safe defensive weapons (knives, tasers, low-velocity ammunition) and actually restrict access to the secure areas outside the terminal... where it's practically effortless to go now.  Hell, we all know they have very effective bomb-sniffing equipment, and to back that up, there's dogs.

One must ask themselves... would you prefer perilous liberty or quiet servitude?

dogs would be issues for people who are allergic.  an inclosed space with them and going to be issues.

but can just get rid of the TSA and not replace it with anything else.  less money borrowed from China.  or could use it to pay back the money borrowed out of the social security pot.
