From Operation Odyssey Dawn to Operation Siren: Colonel Gaddafi as Homeric Hero. http://metrogael.blogspot.com/2011/08/from-operation-odyssey-dawn-to.htmlMonday, August 22, 2011 Since renaissance times, graduates of Greek and Latin literature in Britain, France and other imperial countries were often recruited by the secret service agencies. There were several reasons for this: graduates who could read the classics of Greek and Latin literature in the original languages tended to have good analytical and linguistic skills and a deep knowledge of history and culture. Attention to detail and the capacity to read complex codes and signs are essential for intelligence work. On October 29th 2010, the British newspaper Express quoted the head of Britain’s secret service MI6 Johnathon Evans, a classical scholar, saying that classics should be taught in state schools “on the grounds that learning Latin and Greek would help “develop the kinds of skills that would-be spies need”.[1] Given the centrality of Greek and Latin in the education of the European aristocracy in the past, it comes as no surprise that the current war on Libya was baptized “Operation Odyssey Dawn”. Scholars of the centuries identified many of the locations that feature in Homer’s epic poem in Malta, Sicily and the Mediterranean Sea where NATO’s air and sea forces are currently based. European elites clearly see this current military adventure as akin to the trials and tribulations of Homer’s hero Odysseus who spent 10 long years attempting to return to his homeland of Ithaca after the Trojan War to liberate his palace from treacherous suitors who were attempting to woo his wife Penelope in his absence. After many adventures and mishaps, the Homeric hero finally returns to Ithaca, joining up with his son Telemachus(the far-fighter), killing all the suitors occupying his palace. But the question concerning Libya is: who is playing the role of Odysseus here? The eponymous hero of Homer’s epic poem is described by the Greek bard as resourceful, wily, smart, fearless, charming, righteous and intelligent. Homer’s most frequently used epithets for Odysseus are‘polytropos’, of many twists and turns, ‘polymeros’,many-faceted and ‘metis’, cunning. The most distinguishing aspect of this war has been the inversion of language to represent a false reality. So, the ‘protection of civilians’ means the bombardment of civilian targets; the Gaddafi regime means the majority of the population of Libya who support their government; ‘rebels’ and sometimes ‘revolutionaries’ are the euphemisms used to disguise jihadist terrorists’; the crimes of the rebels have been ascribed to the government forces and rebel retreats have been presented as advances. It is hardly likely, therefore, that NATO considers their hated enemy, Muammar Gaddafi as an Odyssean hero fighting to free his country from greedy parasites. Yet, like Odysseus, Gaddafi has resisted NATO’s bombardment for 6 months. Like Odysseus, part of Gaddafi’s country is currently being occupied by violent and treacherous parasites in the service of NATO. Like Odysseus, Gaddafi has managed to escape capture and death from the most gigantic and formidable forces on the planet. Many classical etymologists derive the word Odysseus from the Greek ‘odyssomai’(ὀδύσσομαι ), meaning “to be wroth against, hated”[2] Is there any other figure in the international media today more hated, more demonized than Muammar Gaddafi? In Homer’s Odyssey, the suitors who occupy the eponymous hero’s palace attempt to persuade his wife Penelope that Odysseus is dead, that he will never return and that she should choose a new husband. The international corporate media have been spreading the same lies and rumours about Gaddafi since the outbreak of the war in March this year. When hostilities began in February, the British foreign minister William Hague declared that the Libyan leader had fled to Venezuela. The claim was false. Claims were recently made that Gaddafi’s son Khamis had been killed. The claims were false. On Sunday August 21st International Criminal Court prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo-the man who told the astonishingly absurd lie about Gaddafi ordering Viagra for his troops so they could rape women-- told Reuters news agency that Gaddafi’s on Saif Al Islam had been captured by the rebels.[3] Ocampo’s claim has been dismissed by Mathaba news agency. [4] Gaddafi has continued to survive. Whether one likes the guide of the Libyan Green Revolution or not, it is clear that the Libyan people love their leader and that he is a man of unquestionable ability. Only a leader of Odyssean qualities would be capable of resisting the aggression of the most powerful nations on earth for the best part of 40 years; instituting a political system that has the support of the people; creating the wealthiest and most egalitarian country in Africa and finally, surviving continuous aerial bombardment, economic blockades and invasions of foreign mercenaries for 6 months. Did the planners of Operation Odyssey Dawn unwittingly dramatise themselves as the vengeful god Poseidon , punishing a superhero protected by Athena, the goddess of wisdom? Operation Siren: psychological warfare to break the Libyan resistance. According to the French newspaper Le Parisien on Saturday August 20th, the spokesman for the National Transition Council in Benghazi , announced the commencement of Operation Siren. The operation is being carried out by NATO forces in conjunction with rebels on the ground and aims to take Tripoli by ousting Colonel Gaddafi and his regime, [5] according to the Libyan NCT spokesman, In book 12 of Homer’s poem, Odysseus and his men confront the challenge posed by the enchanting sounds of the Siren’s song. In Greek and Homeric mythology the Sirens were bird-women and seductresses who lured unsuspecting sailors to shipwreck and destruction. The songs of the sirens were said to be impossible to resist but Odysseus had previously been warned about the nefarious bird-women by the sorceress Circe; ‘To the Sirens first shalt thou come, who bewitch all men, whosoever shall come to them. Whoso draws nigh them unwittingly and hears the sound of the Sirens' voice, never doth he see wife or babes stand by him on his return, nor have they joy at his coming; but the Sirens enchant him with their clear song, sitting in the meadow, and all about is a great heap of bones of men, corrupt in death, and round the bones the skin is wasting. But do thou drive thy ship past, and knead honey-sweet wax, and anoint therewith the ears of thy company, lest any of the rest hear the song; but if thou myself art minded to hear, let them bind thee in the swift ship hand and foot, upright in the mast-stead, and from the mast let rope-ends be tied, that with delight thou mayest hear the voice of the Sirens. And if thou shalt beseech thy company and bid them to loose thee, then let them bind thee with yet more bonds’[6] Odysseus survives by asking his men to bind him to the mast of the ship so he can hear the sirens. knead honey-sweet wax, and anoint therewith the ears of thy company, lest any of the rest hear the song / the sailors put wax in their ears so they won’t hear the song and be drawn into destruction. The Parisien report goes on to claim that it is no longer possible to evacuate foreign nationals in Tripoli as a Maltese ship which was due to evacuate Polish citizens has come under fire. However, the report does not say who exactly fired on the ship. According to the Polish foreign ministry, negotiations are underway with the rebels in order to secure the evacuation of Polish citizens in the country. [7] However, the Reuters version of the same report gives more information about Polish citizens attempting to flee the besieged city of Tripoli. According to the report, 250 Polish families are currently in Tripoli. “The ministry was not immediately available to confirm the report."Poland has evacuated most of its citizens from Libya and moved its ambassador from Tripoli to rebel-held Benghazi, but some 250 people from mixed Polish-Libyan families have stayed behind, the ministry official added. One family had hoped to leave on the Maltese ship, the MV Triva 1”. [8] The above-cited French newspaper did not mention that the report had NOT actually been confirmed by the Polish foreign ministry and the Reuters report states that out of 250 people of mixed Polish-Libyan families only one family hoped to leave on the Maltese ship. Both the Reuters and Le Parisien reports also claim that ‘heavy fighting’ has broken out in Tripoli between “remnants” of the “Gaddafi regime” and “rebels”, who, it appears, are about to capture the Libyan capital. Le Parisien quotes Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini saying that “the tragedy is coming to an end” as the rebels will soon capture Tripoli. Frattini also assures Italian companies that previous contracts signed with the Gaddafi government will be respected as soon as the NTC takes over. [9] What is the significance of the Maltese ship here? Why is NATO so concerned about getting a ship into Tripoli to evacuate foreign nationals when the unconfirmed reports cited only one Polish family hoping to flee the Libyan capital? To whom is the NTC president talking when he warns of a ‘catastrophic end’ for Gaddafi and his people? Is NATO attempting to use a ‘humanitarian’ vessel as a Trojan Horse to deliver terrorists to Libya? Is another humanitarian narrative being written to justify NATO troops on the ground to ‘liberate’ Tripoli? Why do the reports not confirm who exactly fired upon the Maltese ship? Why does the report state that officials are negotiating with rebels to bring the ship into Tripoli? The rebels are not in control of the city. Independent reporter and political analyst Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya has claimed that NATO is now embarking on a sophisticated psychological warfare operation to create panic and fear among the Libyan population in order to break their resistance to NATO’s terrorists. It is clear that Operation Siren is the name of NATO’s new terror campaign. The same reporter told Russia Today that he had been fired upon by snipers. Nazemroaya also said that a CNN producer had issued death threats to CNN journalists in the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli. The websites of Libyan state newspapers Al Jamahirya, Al Yosberides, Azzaf Alakhdar and Al Fair Aljadeed have been suspended. NATO may now attempt to cut power and communication lines in Tripoli, create a state of chaos and fear in the streets, backed up with a mass rumour campaign in order to break the resistance of the Libyan people and prepare the conquest of Tripoli. There have been reports in the Libyan television station Rayysse of an elaborate hoax prepared by Al Jazeera in which scenes of Tripoli being overrun by rebel forces are fabricated. Rayysse reported on Friday August 19th: “an anonymous source reports that NATO will try its last card, it seems that they have reproduced the background of Tripoli in a studio in Doha, Bab Aziziya in particular, and that they are going to simulate a takeover of Tripoli, after they cause a general blackout, cutting electricity and transmissions. The aim is to break the morale of the brave Libyans and fool them, so as to lead the city and the country into a chaotic state.”[10] This morning August 22th Al Jazeera broadcast a report from Tripoli’s Green Square which they claimed was now in control of the rebels. The reporter Zeina Khodr declared “ this city is now in the hands of the opposition” In a message on facebook, independent journalist Lizzie Phelan, who has been reporting from Libya since the start of the war declared: “I now have from reliable sources that the Libyan army is still in control of Tripoli. Al Jazeera footage of Green Square was fake. Gaddafi went to Green Square with his sons. Things are much calmer now” Al Jazeera, the television station owned by the Emir of Qatar, has been a driving force in the media war on Libya since the start of hostilities there. In February the Qatari station aired a video which they claimed showed peaceful protestors in Benghazi being fired upon by ‘Gaddafi’s forces’. The video was subsequently located and published on the internet. It clearly shows pro-Gaddafi demonstrators being fired upon by unknown snipers. The video was edited by Al Jazeera to suit their agenda of demonizing the Libyan government and creating the pretext for “humanitarian” intervention by NATO and the Gulf dictatorships.[11] In a press release on August 21st, Libyan government spokesman Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, confirmed that over 1300 people had been killed and 900 injured in Tripoli within 12 hours of rebel attacks. Although dozens of rebels have been captured and they have not captured the city, the final phase of NATO’s brutal destruction of Libya is likely to end in a bloodbath. [12] In spite of media claims of ‘game over’ for Gaddafi, the Libyan armed forces have cleared the rebels from Misrata, Zawia, Garman, Sormon and Sabratha in the last few days[13] It is clear that the majority of the Libyan people still support Colonel Gaddafi. Conclusion. Though the mainstream media chant about “Gaddafi’s last stand”, Operation Siren is the last desperate attempt of the North Atlantic Terrorist Organisation to enslave the Libyan population. If this war is not stopped now, there will be a humanitarian catastrophe in Libya. An anonymous NGO report published on August 21st states on the 108morris108 channel on utube states: "All the carnage was distant until night fell then the sea boiled over with small fast boats that dumped ten or more special forces and Al Qaida killers at hundreds of points along the beach in and around Tripoli. The slaughter began at that moment. The distraction of the small gangs inside the city proved successful and allowed the unfettered invasion from the sea. Killing hundreds of thousands of Libyans in the next few days may be the result of this full fledged attack on a sovereign nation by NATO" [14] NATO's rebels are facing a population of over 2 million Tripolitan citizens who have been armed by the government. These brave people, ignored by the world, will fight for the rights and freedoms that are theirs, the cities and towns that are theirs, the future of their families and children. NATO’s sirens may beam their evil songs but the people of Tripoli are singing back to them. “Alla, Muammar, Libya bas” The Libyan people have three muses, Allah, Muammar and the land of Libya. Perhaps NATO thinks it is winning this media war. But they would do well to consider the fate of the Sirens before committing ground troops to crush the Libyan people. The medieval writer Stephanus of Byzantium tells the story of a competition between the sirens and the Greek muses. When the sirens won the singing competition, the muses plucked the feathers from their wings. The sirens turned white and fell into the sea. So...the news fakery is being identified almost real-time...
I saw a CNN clip (Libya) where a guy is firing what looks like an M60 in the middle of a street and another guy (black shirt, bluejeans, fairly large) behind him is casually strolling across the street...as if he doesn't have a care in the world...
If I were in a situation like that...hmmm...I'd be thinking OK, whoever that guy is shooting at is probably going to be firing back...perhaps...I should duck or something...
It almost seems to be too sloppy...
Various articles are pointing out that this is all in flagrant violation of UN treaties / laws, etc...me thinks the seeds are being planted for the international community (perhaps in 6 months or a year or so) to dust of the Nuremberg playbook and point it at the Anglosphere...which wouldn't be a bad thing (not us the psycho pols / bankers), except as we all know the UN is no panacea.

From Operation Odyssey Dawn to Operation Siren: Colonel Gaddafi as Homeric Hero.
NATO SLAUGHTER IN TRIPOLI: "Operation Mermaid Dawn" Signals Assault by Rebels' Al Qaeda Death Squadsby Thierry Meyssan Tripoli, Libya, Aug. 22, 2011, 1 AM CET– On Saturday evening, at 8pm, when the hour of Iftar marked the breaking of the Ramadan fast, the NATO command launched its “Operation Mermaid Dawn” against Libya. The Sirens were the loudspeakers of the mosques, which were used to launch Al Qaeda’s call to revolt against the Qaddafi government. Immediately the sleeper cells of the Benghazi rebels went into action. These were small groups with great mobility, which carried out multiple attacks. The overnight fighting caused 350 deaths and 3,000 wounded. The situation calmed somewhat on Sunday during the course of the day. Then, a NATO warship sailed up and anchored just off the shore at Tripoli, delivering heavy weapons and debarking Al Qaeda jihadi forces, which were led by NATO officers. Fighting stared again during the night. There were intense firefights. NATO drones and aircraft kept bombing in all directions. NATO helicopters strafed civilians in the streets with machine guns to open the way for the jihadis. In the evening, a motorcade of official cars carrying top government figures came under attack. The convoy fled to the Hotel Rixos, where the foreign press is based. NATO did not dare to bomb the hotel because they wanted to avoid killing the journalists. Nevertheless the hotel, which is where I am staying, is now under heavy fire. At 11:30pm, the Health Minister had to announce that the hospitals were full to overflowing. On Sunday evening, there had been 1300 additional dead and 5,000 wounded. NATO had been charged by the UN Security Council with protecting civilians in Libya. In reality, France and Great Britain have just re-started their colonial massacres. At 1am, Khamis Qaddafi came to the Rixos Hotel personally to deliver weapons for the defense of the hotel. He then left. There is now heavy fighting all around the hotel. more here: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=26118I never liked Meyssan much at all - but I admit he is spot on about the Libya events.

Now we know why Pat Tilman was assassinated
Now we know why Daniel Perl was assassinated
They manufacture a false narrative and anyone who broadcasts the truth is eliminated.

Libya: Flights of fiction and fantasy http://info-wars.org/2011/08/23/libya-flights-of-fiction-and-fantasy/August 23, 2011 by Infowars Ireland For those of us who have bothered to find out what is going on in Libya and who have respected the temptation to copy and paste stories from the bought media, let us see what the western corporate media is not saying. Let us try to forge a middle way between the myriad of conflicting evidence in the stories. Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey Pravda.Ru 23.08.2011 * Independent journalists are being attacked and threatened. Dr. Lamb was shot, Lizzie Phelan has been warned not to mention that the “rebels” have “Al Qaeda” elements in their ranks, apparently (pending investigation) by CNN journalists. Comment: If this is not the case, then this is why I placed the words “pending investigation”. If it is the case, then I would invite those who threaten independent journalists to also threaten me, because I place my own name and my own photo on my pieces and let us see the consequences. Let us see what happens to those who threaten me, and not a defenceless girl. I will reiterate in my own words: The “rebels” in Libya have been infiltrated by Al-Qaeda. Google up al-Hasidi, one of their commanders, he admitted it himself. I say, bring it on, to me, not a defenceless girl. I shall video the consequences and place them on you.tube. * Egyptian Green tribes massing on the frontier and vowing to cross, the Salloum and Ran Ouh tribes. They have taken up arms and will support Colonel Gaddafi against the NATO/terrorist assault on sovereign Libya. Comment: I have no way of verifying this information, yet the fact that it is not in the western bought/corporate media would suggest that it is interesting. * Situation in Tripoli. I have correspondents in Tripoli (unfortunately at this moment I am not there, this latest debacle started precisely between visits), I also have a large network of people who have contacts in Tripoli. The news that Sky, BBC and Al-Jazeera carry do not match up with what they are saying. And no, we do not use Facebook for our information. Comment: Is it really true that a model was made of Tripoli and filmed in Qatar or northern Iraq, and this screen-set was used as a backdrop for the invasion of Tripoli? Were SKY News images real? Could a bunch of punks enter Tripoli so easily? Did SKY not realise that one person with military experience stationed beside the road could have taken out practically all of the terrorists the channel was accompanying? Did the Libyan armed forces melt away so easily? Was there a massive email campaign (such as in Iraq) and was there a cyber terrorist attack by NATO? Why is NATO bombing Tripoli indiscriminately today if the terrorists, sorry, “rebels” took it yesterday? Why am I receiving reports that significant numbers of these traitors have been chased out, while the 32 Brigade and the Shkaal battalion have liquidated the elements that remained? * Reports of a calm situation in Tripoli from this morning when the telephone network and Internet were down (Cyber terrorism by NATO (?), someone please investigate and bring charges). If the terrorist elements had taken the capital then why was the situation calm? *Landing of NATO mercenaries and special forces I have been informed that groups of NATO mercenaries and special forces landed from the sea on August 22. This is a clear breach of UNSC Resolution 1970 and 1973 (2011) and must be investigated by international lawyers, also by the UNO itself, if we are not to start a movement sidelining this organization as a ridiculous waste of space. Should such elements be captured, then evidently if they do not exist, nobody would complain if someone were to effect a Hallal beheading (not that this is even contemplated by the Libyans, but would be welcome by the non-Lubyan terrorist elements NATO supports) * Digital deception Operation Siren had been announced by several groups before it happened, apparently using a scenario from Qatar or Iraq (above). What is the veracity of the claim that terrorists with British passports had entered the Hotel Marriott before setting fire to it on August 21/22? Did these elements open fire on the civilians on the streets as these NATO/terrorist elements had done in Benghazi? Why then is NATO supporting terrorists? Why is NATO supporting those who have raped little girls? Why is NATO supporting those who have impaled little boys on stakes? Why is NATO supporting those who have decapitated people? Why is NATO supporting racists? What would Mrssrs. Cameron, Obama and Sarkozy say in answer to the statement that the terrorist elements in Libyan that they support have vowed to kill Negroes? Hmmm, right, sorry, stupid question. * Lies If Tripoli was teeming with Allahu Akhbar chanting terrorists (blasphemy, because ALLAH does NOT do what they do or condone it) then how come from early this morning I received reports from persons inside the capital that all was normal and that the TV images of Green Square were fake? Why did I receive a message from the cousin of a bodyguard of a Gaddafi family member, that Saif al-Islam al-Qathafi is fine, when western sources say he had been captured? * Khamis al-Qathafi If Khamis died, twice, then why is he supposed to be leading the fight in central Tripoli against the NATO traitors/terrorists? Is he a ghost? *Al Jazeera Was it not obvious from the beginning that Al Jazeera was threatened and assimilated? What to expect from Qatar, the way it has behaved in this conflict? As Muammar al-Qathafi said, they are donkeys being ridden by foreigners. Has anyone bothered to analyse Al-Jazeera’s news reporting? No wonder everyone is talking about a massive financial and entrepreneurial boycott. Would YOU invest in Al-Jazeera? Conclusion: Those of us who are at present (unfortunately) not in Libya can only gather together the reports we glean from our sources, report them and comment, however the situation changes faster than we can report. The point is, is the western bought corporate media telling the whole truth? Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey

We get to see a lot of snipers and artillery shells on the live images from Tripoli http://rt.com/on-air/libya-tripoli-rebels-green-square/It is not the snipers and "rebels" who are doing all the devastation but rather NATO/US forces with their bombardments. Can't match B-2 sorties, F-16s, Typhoons, Rafales, Tornados, Gripens and other war planes and a number of drones with these snipers. We are being lied to by the MSM all the way - and the herd approves.

Libya: NATO Psy-Op Collapses – Qaddafi Prevails AgainNATO bluff called by Qaddafi, rebels’ victory facade crumbles. Tony Cartalucci Infowars.com Aug 23, 2011 Once again a defiant Qaddafi has prevailed against the full might of NATO aggression including a murderous bombing campaign followed by NATO special forces on the ground supporting mobs of US/UK/French/Qatari backed Al Qaeda thugs which swarmed Tripoli over the weekend. “Illustrious” news agencies from the Qatari government’s AlJazeera, to the now exposed frauds at CNN, BBC, Reuters, AP, AFP have been caught perpetuating a concerted war propaganda campaign in order to break the will of both Libya and in particular Tripoli. Photo: Taken overnight, Qaddafi’s son Saif Al-Islam “confirmed” to be captured and ready to be transferred to the Hague by the illegitimate International Criminal Court, is actually very much free and leading efforts to drive out NATO backed Al Qaeda thugs from Tripoli. …. Reports that Qaddafi’s son Saif Al-Islam was “captured” by Libyan rebels by the disingenuous media outlets and “confirmed” by the Fortune 500 contrived International Criminal Court (ICC), who went as far as saying preparations were already under way to transfer Saif to the Hague, are now confirmed lies with Saif Al-Islam very much free, appearing to journalists at the Rixos Hotel in southern Tripoli flanked by Libyan military forces and very much leading what appears to be a significant Libyan government counterattack. It appears that NATO operations are ending just as they began, based on a verified pack of lies. (Please see March’s “Libya: Another War, Another Pack of Lies“) Everything we have been told, from President Obama’s teleprompter readings to Luis Moreno-Ocampo of the ICC’s claims of Saif’s “confirmed” capture, to the mainstream media and the Al Qaeda infested “Transitional National Council” are now systematically being exposed as overt, verified lies as part of what may be the biggest psychological operation in modern history. Al Jazeera who was already featuring lofty “The Last Days of Gaddafi” narratives is now forced to face reality and irrefutable evidence that the rebel operations in Tripoli were clearly over-hyped war propaganda and the reality is Qaddafi and the Libyan people have called NATO’s bluff. To illustrate just how absurd the Western media has become as their lies break upon the rocks of reality, a recent farcical attempt to save face regarding Saif’s appearance before journalists at the Riox included an Al Jazeera report claiming that rebel leaders had confirmation Saif al-Islam was arrested “but have no idea how he escaped.” To help out the media it might be suggested that Saif was never captured in the first place and that reports of his arrest were simply a ploy to embolden rebels and make it appear as if the momentum had swung in favor of NATO. (For more on US State Department lies rehashed through “media” please see: “Libyan Rebels Lying Left and Right“) Image: Here, the International Criminal Court “confirms” the now verified lie that Saif Al-Islam was being held by rebels. ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo, in a fit of unmitigated lies claimed, “we have confidential information from different sources that we have within Libya confirming this.” He would continue, “it is very important to make clear there is an obligation to surrender Saif to the ICC in accordance with the Security Council resolution.” Along with UN Chief Ban Ki-Moon’s claim that the “international community” is obligated to comply to the ICC we see unfolding a criminal organization of liars and degenerates of unprecedented proportions. What follows next is unsure. With Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas and others calling for an expedient landing of NATO occupation forces it seems they above all others knew just how tenuous the rebels’ hold on Tripoli was. As explained previously, the war in Libya goes beyond pilfering the nation’s material wealth, it is about establishing the Wall Street-London international order and its primacy over the nation-state. A NATO failure in Libya would infinitely complicate planned operations against Syria, Iran, and along Russia and China’s peripheries. While it appears that NATO’s last ditch murder spree has failed, with so much on the table, everything from continuous carpet bombing to a NATO land invasion under the guise of UN “peace monitors” or Haas’ NATO occupation forces are possibilities already being planned. What we do know is how desperate the corporate-financier elite are and how absolute their control is over the mainstream media. Such a large, wide scale disinformation campaign is only possible if each news agency, from AP, Reuters, BBC, Guardian, Telegraph, New York Times, CNN, Al Jazeera and others, are completely compromised by corporate-financier interests. The following lists shows that indeed many of these “news agencies” share consortium memberships with some of the largest corporate-financier interests on earth presenting an immense conflict of interest obviously producing astronomically duplicitous improprieties. Council on Foreign Relations Chatham House (Major Corporate Members) Chatham House (Corporate Members) Chatham House (Corporate Partners) Brookings Institution (page 20 of Annual Report) When we see Reuters sitting side-by-side oil giants like BP, Exxon, Chevron within the halls of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Chatham House and then see reports gloating over Western oil companies moving in to replace Chinese and Russian investments in Libya, their duplicity and lack of independence in their reporting becomes glaringly obvious. These media organizations are in fact PR fronts for the Fortune 500 and their collective goal of implementing a global empire, nation to nation. For now, they are currently obsessed over Libya and the implications its conclusion will have on their future planned conquests, the next being Syria. It would be a good idea for those following the current NATO murder spree in Libya to abandon any trust in Reuters, BBC, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, and any of the “reputable” newspapers wasting paper and space on our nations’ newsstands, all of whose fates are tied directly to the corporate-financier interests pinning their hopes on a NATO victory in Libya. Instead, we must commit ourselves to vetting reliable alternative news sources as well as committing ourselves to the responsible of researching the news of the day on our own. Let this be proof positive as to how essential it is to boycott and replace everything eminating from the Fortune 500 including their army of professional liars also known as the “mainstream media.” Tony Cartalucci is the writer and editor at Land Destoyer Report

Globalist Richard Haas Calls for NATO Occupation of Libyahttp://info-wars.org/2011/08/22/globalist-richard-haas-calls-for-nato-occupation-of-libya/August 22, 2011 by Tony Cartalucci Filed under Globalists, International, State Terror The Financial Times has featured an editorial penned by Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas titled, “Libya Now Needs Boots on the Ground,” where the arch globalist states that Libya’s rebels are in no way capable of rebuilding Libya properly and will require an “international force” to maintain order. Haas breathtakingly admits that the NATO intervention to “protect civilians” was in fact a political intervention designed to bring about regime change. With NATO leading the offensive against Tripoli, a relatively calm city until now, the alleged cause of “protecting civilians” rings hollower than ever. ===================== You see that killing innocent civilians is justified for the greater good. The New World Order dream of utopian peace is a hoax. NATO is their army; murdering everyone in their path.

Journalist Mahdi Nazemroaya, who is stationed in a central Tripoli hotel with the international press, says the journalists are being targeted by the rebels and the NATO forces that support them. While he is speaking to RT, shooting can be heard. “They are specifically targeting the areas where international journalists are, to sow panic here,” he argued. “NATO has done all the heavy work. This is a NATO war. They heavily bombed cities west of [Tripoli], they’ve bombed all night, without even 10 seconds of stopping. They have bombed this entire city and NATO landed the insurgents on the coast of Tripoli.” But the city’s defenders are not pessimistic, continues Nazemroaya. “The situation has gone tenser,” said Nazemroaya. “More members of the hotel stuff have returned with guns. Obviously they have been fighting. These are volunteers, not soldiers. They returned with a picture which is not a picture of loss and they are confident.” http://rt.com/news/tripoli-nato-gunshots-journalist-623/

Last night my grandson and I had a conversation about this. He was definetly convinced the MSM is the word off the mountain . If its on the tube, its real. After a few hours with grandad he came around a bit. I never thought that this propaganda would have an effect on my grandkids, in short it was proven to me in my home and with family just how powerfull an effect the MSM plays on the young. The tube borders on brainwashing-close to hypnosis, the current generation in general depend on the tube for news, entertainment, emotions, quality of life, etc etc. My grandson had a wake up call.

British brains, brawn and bombs bolster Libyan rebelsBritain’s MI6 officers have been engaged in drilling Libyan rebels, helping them to establish a proper military plan for an assault on the capitol Tripoli. On Tuesday, British newspapers revealed that the UK not only detached spies and former SAS gurus to train militants, but was also providing them with ammunition for the operation, including night-vision goggles, advanced communication equipment and no less than 1,000 sets of body armor. more here http://rt.com/news/british-train-libyan-rebels-975-70939-939/

Libya: Britain prepares to send team to help with stability planBritain is preparing to send a team to Tripoli to help with a key plan to stabilise Libya after the fall of the Gaddafi regime and prevent any repeat of the chaos seen in post-war Iraq. The plan has already included contacting officials in ministries in Libya by mobile phone to try to persuade them not to abandon their posts. It was drawn up by a British-led “stabilisation response team” from the Foreign Office, Department for International Development and the Ministry of Defence, who have visited Benghazi. Andrew Mitchell, the Development Secretary, told The Daily Telegraph: “It has been clear that we needed to learn the lessons of Iraq and plan for stabilisation and that that needed to take place in an organised and timely way. “It was equally clear that the process had to be Libyan led and owned.” The plan, presented to the Libyan National Transitional Council at the end of June, includes five key areas and experts, some of whom are already in Libya, are ready to travel to Tripoli as soon as it is safe to do so. more here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8718947/Libya-Britain-prepares-to-send-team-to-help-with-stability-plan.html

NATOwood Libya production a total FLOPhttp://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/23-08-2011/118838-NATOwood_Libya_production_a_total_FLOP-0/23.08.2011 Let's pretend we are in Tripoli for the camera Many knew in advance this NATOwood production via Qatar and the no credibility Al Jazeera was in the works. It happened sooner than we anticipated. I think their whole effort was pushed ahead too quickly by someone somewhere, But then the divine one has His way of protecting His own. Clearly, they were not anticipating the poor results. Once again, stupid NATO overestimated themselves and underestimated the Libyan people, Libya and Libya's leadership. How many fatal mistakes can one terrorist entity make? The filth did, however, manage to kill close to 1,300 innocent civilians in only 12 hours. So much for protecting civilians. Their futile annoucements of terrorist victories and the end of the Gaddafi government demonstrated not only their utter arrogance and pretentiousness, but also their utter stupidity and incompetence. It is my belief that all the firepower in the world won't do a bit of good in the hands of dimwitted pieces of garbage...such as NATO and their terrorists. You only have to look at their impressive results in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as Libya. How disgustingly they were salivating...that's the only genuine thing about them and their epic film production, their inability to hide their true motivations. No, the government of the Libyan people did not collapse at your whim, your stinking Pax Americana...your Rule Britannia, Britannia rule the waves...Je suis Napoleon Bonaparte allons chiens de la partie. It reminds me of that saying about the irresistible force meets the immovable object...however, that force is hardly irresistible. But the people of Libya are immovable. They will not give up their freedom and well being, their way of life or their leader. Their country is not for sale, even though a few disgusting pieces of trash were willing to sell out to the bankrupt west, talk about idiotic fools. I had to laugh about the stupidity of the corporate media with their various titles and stupid disinformation, such as "Gaddafi on the run." How idiotic. The cowards are projecting their own cowardice on to the Libyan leadership. Much like the oft resurrected Khamis Gaddafi. What is it now, the propaganda has had him dead no less than 3 times? Then there was the son reportedly "captured" and ready to be hauled off to the International Criminal Court. All of it was nothing but bald faced lies and malicious propaganda. What does it say about them that they have to resort to such lies? They are knowingly doing wrong, that what it means. NATO countries proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they are led by a gaggle of dimwitted simpletons with this latest effort. How gullible and stupid do they think people are? So they were desperate to demoralize their opposition, too stupid to realize it is an utter impossibility to move the immovable object(s). Their futile efforts even included direct threats against those willing to tell the truth. Nothing worse than when NATO projects their own evil traits onto others. They felt that those loyal to Gaddafi could be frightened off, lured to their side, sell out. How disgusting. No more evil entity exists than NATO cowards. One would love to see their behavior under similar circumstances, if they had to face a foe with similar firepower. The notion that NATO would dare to fight an equal foe would be the same as comparing the possibility of a pith-headed, demented simpleton discussing quantum physics with a Jubilee Professor. It would not happen. Instead, the NATO countries would be caught sitting silently, white-faced, in the midst of some fetid stench. Their subordinates would have to be ordering a gross of fresh diapers for them. Cameron...Obama...Sarkozy How many people have you given houses to? How many people have you paid for their total education, even including at foreign universities? How many people have you shared the revenues with in your country for the sale of your country's resources? How many of your people get total paid for complete medical care at home or anywhere in the world? How many people have you raised from abject poverty to the highest level on your continent? We know the answer to that. How dare you challenge the people power democratic government of Libya. How dare you demand the leader the people want to leave. Unlike you, he is a man of honor, a man of his word, a man of action and good deeds, a man that has worked hard to improve lives not only in his country, but worldwide. Instead, you have made it possible for Al Qaeda to become the most equipped "army" in the world. You have made it possible for the theft of countless weapons to be distributed for terrorist actions anywhere, anytime. You have supported these stinking worthless terrorists and the evidence mounts daily of their disgusting criminal behavior, the looting, the murder, the mutilation, the destruction. Some of these same people (a small amount are Libyans) have even benefited from that free education available to Libyans. Imperialism, terrorism, totalitarianism, barbarism, nazism, fascism, intolerance, hate, greed, sociopathy, racism, anti-freedom, anti-democracy, these are all words that represent what NATO countries are all about. Their declarations to the contrary are ludicrous at best. Something about bombs and genocide that makes people impervious to deception. Therefore, it is doubtful that NATO can come up with any further deceptions in the anticipation of success. Time for dialogue. Time to stop the murder and destruction. Time for a ceasefire. Time for war crimes trials. Again I repeat, NATO RIH, NATO rot in hell. Probably even the devil himself won't be able to stand you.

Sidenote... North Korea 'ready to halt nuclear tests' From: AP, AFP August 24, 2011 8:17PM NORTH Korea is ready to impose a moratorium on nuclear missile tests if international talks on its nuclear program resume, a spokesman for Russian president Dmitry Medevdev said. Russian news agencies, meanwhile, reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Il said the country is ready to resume talks "without preconditions." The six-sided talks have been long-stalled, but Kim's Russia trip comes as his country pushes to restart them. South Korea and Washington have demanded that the North first show its sincerity on fulfilling past nuclear commitments. The Korean peninsula has seen more than a year of tension during which the North shelled a South Korean island and allegedly torpedoed a South Korean warship. Kim and Medevdev met today on a military base near the city of Ulan-Ude in eastern Siberia in Kim's first trip to Russia since 2002. Rixos hotel apparently taken over by Khadafy forces
About 30 foreign journalists are still trapped in the Rixos Hotel in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, after a four-day siege by Muammar Gaddafi's loyalists.
"The hotel is surrounded by Gaddafi loyalists who are preventing the journalists from leaving," AFP quoted a statement by Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
The journalists are said to be housed on the first floor of the building, wearing bullet-proof jackets and helmets. Reports say food and water are scarce and cell phone signals are poor.
The RSF statement pled that the journalists not be harmed and said the reporters are "prisoners of a dying regime that refuses to lay down its arms."
Libya has been the scene of intense fighting between regime troops and revolutionary fighters since a revolution seeking to topple Gaddafi began in mid-February.
The fighters advanced into the heart of Tripoli early Monday, seizing control of much of the capital without facing significant resistance from regime forces. They are now facing only small pockets of resistance from Gaddafi's loyalists in other areas.
The whereabouts of the now fugitive Libyan dictator and his family is currently unknown.

Viva la Resistenza!! The Truth About the Situation in Libya: Cutting through Government Propaganda and Media LiesLibya is a small country of just over 6 million people but it possesses the largest oil reserves in all of Africa. The oil produced there is especially coveted because of its particularly high quality. The Air Force of the United States along with Britain and France has carried out 7,459 bombing attacks since March 19. Britain, France and the United States sent special operation ground forces and commando units to direct the military operations of the so-called rebel fighters – it is a NATO- led army in the field. The troops may be disaffected Libyans but the operation is under the control and direction of NATO commanders and western commando units who serve as “advisors.” Their new weapons and billions in funds come from the U.S. and other NATO powers that froze and seized Libya’s assets in Western banks. Their only military successes outside of Benghazi, in the far east of the country, have been exclusively based on the coordinated air and ground operations of the imperialist NATO military forces. In military terms, Libya’s resistance to NATO is of David and Goliath proportions. U.S. military spending alone is more than ten times greater than Libya’s entire annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP) which was $74.2 billion in 2010, according to the CIA’s World Fact Book. In recent weeks, the NATO military operations used surveillance-collecting drones, satellites, mounting aerial attacks and covert commando units to decapitate Libya’s military and political leadership and its command and control capabilities. Global economic sanctions meant that the country was suddenly deprived of income and secure access to goods and services needed to sustain a civilian economy over a long period. “The cumulative effect [of NATO’s coordinated air and ground operation] not only destroyed Libya’s military infrastructure but also greatly diminished Colonel Gaddafi’s commanders to control forces, leaving even committed fighting units unable to move, resupply or coordinate operations,“ reports the New York Times in a celebratory article on August 22. A False Pretext The United States, United Kingdom, France, and Italy targeted the Libyan government for overthrow or “regime change” not because these governments were worried about protecting civilians or to bring about a more democratic form of governance in Libya. If that were the real motivation of the NATO powers, they could start the bombing of Saudi Arabia right away. There are no elections in Saudi Arabia. The monarchy does not even allow women to drive cars. By law, women must be fully covered in public or they will go to prison. Protests are rare in Saudi Arabia because any dissent is met with imprisonment, torture and execution. The Saudi monarchy is protected by U.S. imperialism because it is part of an undeclared but real U.S. sphere of influence and it is the largest producer of oil in the world. The U.S. attitude toward the Saudi monarchy was put succinctly by Ronald Reagan in 1981, when he said that the U.S. government “will not permit” revolution in Saudi Arabia such as the 1979 Iranian revolution that removed the U.S. client regime of the Shah. Reagan’s message was clear: the Pentagon and CIA’s military forces would be used decisively to destroy any democratic movement against the rule of the Saudi royal family. Reagan’s explicit statement in 1981 has in fact been the policy of every successive U.S. administration, including the current one. Libya and Imperialism Libya, unlike Saudi Arabia, did have a revolution against its monarchy. As a result of the 1969 revolution led by Muammar Gaddafi, Libya was no longer in the sphere of influence of any imperialist country. Libya had once been an impoverished colony of Italy living under the boot heel of the fascist Mussolini. After the Allied victory in World War II, control of the country was formally transferred to the United Nations and Libya became independent in 1951 with authority vested in the monarch King Idris. But in actuality, Libya was controlled by the United States and Britain until the 1969 revolution. One of the first acts of the 1969 revolution was to eliminate the vestiges of colonialism and foreign control. Not only were oil fields nationalized but Gaddafi eliminated foreign military bases inside the country. In March of 1970, the Gaddafi government shut down two important British military bases in Tobruk and El Adem. He then became the Pentagon’s enemy when he evicted the U.S. Wheelus Air Force Base near Tripoli that had been operated by the United States since 1945. Before the British military took control in 1943, the facility was a base operated by the Italians under Mussolini. Wheelus had been an important Strategic Air Command (SAC) base during the Cold War, housing B-52 bombers and other front-line Pentagon aircrafts that targeted the Soviet Union. Once under Libyan control, the Gaddafi government allowed Soviet military planes to access the airfield. In 1986, the Pentagon heavily bombed the base at the same time it bombed downtown Tripoli in an effort to assassinate Gaddafi. That effort failed but his 2-year-old daughter died along with scores of other civilians. The Character of the Gaddafi Regime The political, social and class orientation of the Libyan regime has gone through several stages in the last four decades. The government and ruling establishment reflected contradictory class, social, religious and regional antagonisms. The fact that the leadership of the NATO-led National Transition Council is comprised of top officials of the Gaddafi government, who broke with the regime and allied themselves with NATO, is emblematic of the decades-long instability within the Libyan establishment. These inherent contradictions were exacerbated by pressures applied to Libya from the outside. The U.S. imposed far-reaching economic sanctions on Libya in the 1980s. The largest western corporations were barred from doing business with Libya and the country was denied access to credit from western banks. In its foreign policy, Libya gave significant financial and military support to national liberation struggles, including in Palestine, Southern Africa, Ireland and elsewhere. Because of Libya's economic policies, living standards for the population had jumped dramatically after 1969. Having a small population and substantial income from its oil production, augmented with the Gaddafi regime’s far-reaching policy of social benefits, created a huge advance in the social and economic status for the population. Libya was still a class society with rich and poor, and gaps between urban and rural living standards, but illiteracy was basically wiped out, while education and health care were free and extensively accessible. By 2010, the per capita income in Libya was near the highest in Africa at $14,000 and life expectancy rose to over 77 years, according to the CIA’s World Fact Book. Gaddafi’s political orientation explicitly rejected communism and capitalism. He created an ideology called the “Third International Theory,” which was an eclectic mix of Islamic, Arab nationalist and socialist ideas and programs. In 1977, Libya was renamed the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. A great deal of industry, including oil, was nationalized and the government provided an expansive social insurance program or what is called a welfare state policy akin to some features prevalent in the Soviet Union and some West European capitalist countries. But Libya was not a workers’ state or a “socialist government” to use the popular if not scientific use of the term “socialist.” The revolution was not a workers and peasant rebellion against the capitalist class per se. Libya remained a class society although class differentiation may have been somewhat obscured beneath the existence of revolutionary committees and the radical, populist rhetoric that emanated from the regime. As in many developing, formerly colonized countries, state ownership of property was not “socialist” but rather a necessary fortification of an under-developed capitalist class. State property in Iraq, Libya and other such post-colonial regimes was designed to facilitate the social and economic growth of a new capitalist ruling class that was initially too weak, too deprived of capital and too cut off from international credit to compete on its own terms with the dominant sectors of world monopoly capitalism. The nascent capitalist classes in such developing economies promoted state-owned property, under their control, in order to intersect with Western banks and transnational corporations and create more favorable terms for global trade and investment. The collapse of the Soviet Union and the “socialist bloc” governments of central and Eastern Europe in 1989-91 deprived Libya of an economic and military counter-weight to the United States, and the Libyan government’s domestic economic and foreign policy shifted towards accommodation with the West. In the 1990s some sectors of the Libyan economic establishment and the Gaddafi-led government favored privatization, cutting back on social programs and subsidies and integration into western European markets. The earlier populism of the regime incrementally gave way to the adoption of neo-liberal policies. This was, however, a long process. In 2004, the George W. Bush administration ended sanctions on Libya. Western oil companies and banks and other corporations initiated huge direct investments in Libya and trade with Libyan enterprises. There was also a growth of unemployment in Libya and in cutbacks in social spending, leading to further inequality between rich and poor and class polarization. But Gaddafi himself was still considered a thorn in the side of the imperialist powers. They want absolute puppets, not simply partners, in their plans for exploitation. The Wikileaks release of State Department cables between 2007 and 2010 show that the United states and western oil companies were condemning Gaddafi for what they called “resource nationalism.” Gaddafi even threatened to re-nationalize western oil companies’ property unless Libya was granted a larger share of the revenue for their projects. As an article in today’s New York Times Business section said honestly: “"Colonel Qaddafi proved to be a problematic partner for the international oil companies, frequently raising fees and taxes and making other demands. A new government with close ties to NATO may be an easier partner for Western nations to deal with." Even the most recent CIA Fact Book publication on Libya, written before the armed revolt championed by NATO, complained of the measured tempo of pro-market reforms in Libya: “Libya faces a long road ahead in liberalizing the socialist-oriented economy, but initial steps— including applying for WTO membership, reducing some subsidies, and announcing plans for privatization—are laying the groundwork for a transition to a more market-based economy.” (CIA World Fact Book) The beginning of the armed revolt on February 23 by disaffected members of the Libyan military and political establishment provided the opportunity for the U.S. imperialists, in league with their French and British counterparts, to militarily overthrow the Libyan government and replace it with a client or stooge regime. Of course, in the revolt were workers and young people who had many legitimate grievances against the Libyan government. But what is critical in an armed struggle for state power is not the composition of the rank-and-file soldiers, but the class character and political orientation of the leadership. Character of the National Transition Council The National Transitional Council (NTC) constituted itself as the leadership of the uprising in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city. The central leader is Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, who was Libya’s Minister of Justice until his defection at the start of the uprising. He was one of a significant number of Western-oriented and neoliberal officials from Libya’s government, diplomatic corps and military ranks who joined the opposition in the days immediately after the start of the revolt. As soon as it was established, the NTC began issuing calls for imperialist intervention. These appeals became increasing panicky as it became clear that, contrary to early predictions that the Gaddafi-led government would collapse in a matter of days, it was the “rebels” who faced imminent defeat in the civil war. In fact, it was only due to the U.S./NATO bombing campaign, initiated with great hurry on March 19 that the rebellion did not collapse. The last five months of war have erased any doubt about the pro-imperialist character of the NTC. One striking episode took place on April 22, when Senator John McCain made a “surprise” trip to Benghazi. A huge banner was unveiled to greet him with an American flag printed on it and the words: “United States of America – You have a new ally in North Africa.” Similar to the military relationship between the NATO and Libyan “rebel” armed forces, the NTC is entirely dependent on and subordinated to the U.S., French, British and Italian imperialist governments. If the Pentagon, CIA, and Wall Street succeed in installing a client regime in Tripoli it will accelerate and embolden the imperialist threats and intervention against other independent governments such as Syria and Venezuela. In each case we will see a similar process unfold, including the demonization of the leadership of the targeted countries so as to silence or mute a militant anti-war response to the aggression of the war-makers. We in the ANSWER Coalition invite all those who share this perspective to join with us, to mobilize, and to unmask the colonial agenda that hides under the slogan of “humanitarian intervention.” Brian Becker, National Coordinator, ANSWER Coalition Read also There's only one solution to Afghanistan War Rebutting the claims of President Obama and other top U.S. officials of “improved security,” death and destruction in Afghanistan are spiraling as the tenth anniversary of the U.S./NATO war approaches. August 13 Millions March in Harlem Join this important march to demand the United States end its illegal wars and sanctions on African countries. While the government tells us there is no money for jobs, education or social security, they find limitless funding for their wars on Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya. Why on earth does General Custer come to mind, strange, I'm geting old I guess. Americans considered this man the the knight in white armor, the conquering hero, the news papers hailed him, the people adored him. The savior from the indiand hordes. Others did not, nor did a good percentage of his troops, not to mention the indians whos familys had been slaughtered. Am I off the map, or is there a point to be made, I'm old and slipping a bit, can anyone justify my post of this egomaniac in power.

http://metaexistence.org/gaddafispeech.htm [...] UN SECURITY COUNCILIt should not be called the Security Council. It should be called the " Terror Council. " You see, my brothers, that in our life, in our political life, that if the Security Council is used against us, then they go to the Security Council, they resort to the Security Council. If they have no need to use it against us, then they ignore the Security Council. If the charter, they have interests, an ax to grind to use against us, they respect the charter. They look for the seven chapters of the Security charter (inaudible). But if they want to violate the charter, they would ignore the charter as if it doesn't exist at all. If the veto on the permanent seat is given to the one who has the power is injustice and terrorism that will not be accepted by us, and we should not live under the shadow of this injustice and this terror. Superpowers have interests, complicating (ph) interests, and they use the interests, they use the (inaudible), they use the power of the United Nations to protect their interests. And these terrorized and intimidated the Third World. The Third World is terrified and being terrorized and living under the fear of terror. The Security Council ever since it was established in 1949 did not provide us with security, but provided us, on the contrary, terror and sanctions. It is used against us only. For this reason, we are not committed to adhere to the Security Council resolutions after this speech of the fortieth anniversary. Sixty-four wars took place broke out against the war (ph) against the world, against small (inaudible). That it is fighting between small countries or aggression in wars against by superpowers against countries, big countries against us. And United Nations or the Security Council did not take any actions to stop these wars and aggressions in violation of the charter of the United Nations against small nations and small peoples. And the General Assembly will vote for these historic resolutions. Either we continue together in one nations or we go into break into two equal nations, have its own general assembly, its own security council belonging to it, where they have equal footing, standing on equal footing or and the big countries who have the permanent seats, who have their rights, will stay in their own councils, whether there are four or three, as they wish (inaudible). And they should exercise veto against themselves, and this is not of our interest. And if they want to stay in permanent seats, OK, that's OK, but permanent is a threat for (inaudible) but we shall never stay under the supervision or the control of the veto and the right of veto to given countries. We are not (inaudible) to give we are not fool to give the right of a veto to big powers to use us, and we are treated like second class and like despised nations. We have not decided that these are big nations, (inaudible) nations, respected nations. These are the nations of the world which represent 190 countries. We know that now ignoring the resolutions of the Security Council is now though it is injustice, and it is only used against us. It is not used against the big countries who have the permanent seats or those countries who have the right of veto. They never use any resolution against them. In the countries, it is used against us. So, any resolutions taken against us, it has become a travesty of the United Nations, and it has become wars and violations of independent states authorities (ph) and committing war crimes and genocides. And these are all in violation of the Security Council, even though there is a Security Council, and nobody cares about the Security Council and even though now each now, each country has each (inaudible) community have become security councils, establishing its own security councils and with the security councils in its own formation. Now it has the Security Council (inaudible) has become isolated. The African Union has already established MASS (ph), which is the peace and security for Africa, and the European Union has already established the security council. The (inaudible) already establishing its own security councils. America will have its own concerns, non-alignment (ph). One hundred twenty countries will have its own peace and security council. This means that we have already lost the trust in the Security Council, which have not provided us with security. And now that's why we are creating regional peace securities or regional security councils. We are not committed to obey the rules or the resolutions of the security councils in this formation because it is undemocratic, unjust, and no one can force us to be a member of the security councils and to obey or adhere to resolutions or all of this given by Security Council in its composition as it is right now. Now, brothers, there is no respect to the United Nations. No regard to the General Assembly, which constitutes (ph) actually the real substantive (inaudible), and which it has no decisions that is abiding. The International Court of Justice, it is a judicial international body, and resolutions only implemented against the small countries, the small nations. And big countries are rejected to be implemented against the big countries. There are resolutions or court orders taken against these big countries, but they have been refused to be implemented against them. IAEAThe International the IAEA (ph), an important one in the United Nations, are not big countries are not responsible for it, or are not under control. And we have discovered that this is only used against us. It is a (inaudible) against us. You told us, this is an international one, so if it is an international one, then all the countries of the world should be under jurisdictions of this one. If it's not international, then we close the door and arrive from this now, from this speech, we shall close the door, and we should not accept it. And adopt a (inaudible) president of the General Assembly. He will talk to the director of the Baradei (ph) or the (inaudible). They will ask him, do you inspect the nuclear supplies of all? Do you supervise the increase of this nuclear storage? Then if he says, yes, then OK, then we accept that we'll be under control. But if he says that we cannot go to these countries who have the nuclear powers, and I cannot have any jurisdiction, then we should close the door, and we not accept it to be under its control. For your information, I told Baradei when we had the problem (inaudible) nuclear bomb, and predecessor, I called them and I told them, Mr. Baradei, the agreements to increase to decrease the nuclear supplies between the superpowers, is it under control? Is there any provisions that if it's in a country increased its nuclear heads, are you aware of that? He said to me, no. These big powers I cannot go so close to it. I cannot ask them. I cannot.... so, you are only coming to us??? I said that this is not an international organization. So, it is meant only for us. Security Council against us. International IAEA against us. International Court of Justice against us. And they (world powers) are free. This is not justice. This is not United Nations. This is rejected totally.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/08/25/fighting-rages-in-tripoli-as-gaddafi-loyalists-hold-out/Fighting rages in Tripoli as Gaddafi loyalists hold outBy Agence France-Presse Thursday, August 25th, 2011 -- 7:58 am Rebels battled to gain full control of the Libyan capital as pockets of loyalists held out and speculation mounted as to the whereabouts of Moamer Kadhafi, despite a reward of $1.7 million for the elusive strongman, dead or alive. Meanwhile diplomatic efforts were launched at the United Nations and in Qatar by backers of the insurgents to secure the unlocking of billions of dollars of Libyan assets for the rebels. Washington for its part said Libya's stockpile of weapons of mass destruction had been secured and that it was confident the rebel National Transitional Council (NTC) could set up governing structures after overrunning Tripoli. A group of mostly foreign journalists who had been confined to Tripoli's Rixos Hotel by pro-Kadhafi hardliners were freed but other loyalists kidnapped four Italian journalists near the capital, and two French journalists were wounded by stray gunfire at the compound but were recovering. The rebels also made key diplomatic gains when two of Kadhafi's staunchest African allies -- Chad and Burkina Faso -- said they recognise the NTC as the sole representative of the Libyan people. During the afternoon, thick smoke hung over the Bab al-Aziziya complex, where rebels and Kadhafi forces fought with light arms, heavy machine guns, rocket propelled grenades and mortars.
