Ok, today I was playing around with GoogleEarth in the Moon view. I went to the Apollo 15 site and took a look at the pictures in a kind of streetview style.

Q. are the cross hairs on the 35mm cameras on the lens or on the film?

I have taken some screen shots, any ideas are welcome:

Pic 01:

The cross hair has been partially removed.

Pic 02:

Cross hair seems to be in front and behind of the moon rover rear RHS wheel.

Pic 03:

The cross hair seems to be smudged/removed and what looks like a dust/cloud cover at the top of the dune.

Pic 04:

Is that a puddle or 2??? Any ideas???

Pic 05:

The shadow that starts on the rear RHS wheel arch seems to extend to the surface, if you can see what I'm saying. You can also see this in Pic 02.

Pic 06:

A pole... lmao any ideas???

I know that these pictures are spliced together by google, so don't have a go at me for that! was hoping for some good ideas to put me straight  Wink

Don't want to dissapoint you but they never went to the moon.

Loads of info about these cross hairs all over the web. Loads of cross hairs behind the objects as well.

Seen that myself together with a photo expert on original NASA pictures.
