I was curious about "Mucoid Plaque" what is this stuff made of?

You see on TV with products like "almighty cleanse" etc... that the walls of your intestines can have build up, I wikied a lof this stuff and wiki says that most of the crazy gross pictures of what people have expelled from their bodies might be due to what these cleansing products actually have in them (clay?) and that the product itself forms the "plaque" that is then expelled to the users amazement.

Im wondering, how bad is the average persons intestines, we as a society do eat a lot of processes/dirty food (think about it, we have meat coming in from all over the world it had to get infected with something along the way...)

and we as a society do eat a lot of questionable things, soda/candy etc...

So can the things we eat, actually form these fungal/mucus/plaques?


I actually am going to try some cleansing teas and stuff and see what comes out (im just curious) ... people say they lose 10 - 15 lb's after performing these cleanses, but then I see that a lot of these cleanses require strict diets (some say to go on liquid diets for about 10 days, and for sure if I ate nothing bu juice for 10 days, I would probably lose 10 lb also )


Has anyone had any experience with these "cleansing" products? do they actually do anything good , or are they just bogus concoctions that themselves produce these "intestinal masses" to later be expelled for "wow factor".

I know the topic might be a little gross, but Im curious.... Wink

My mother is an experienced doctor, she warned me that some so-called naturally healing products or so, cause liver damage. There's a whole lot of good stuff you get from nature, most of our medicines originate from there, but apparently not all there is good. So if you got problems with alcohol or a weak liver, you might wanna think twice.

I know for certain that licorice works as a mild laxative, it is said to have some other medicinal uses too. If your crap is already too soft, not hard enough, you should avoid it and eat meat instead and less carbs. Blueberry enhances your vision, carrots boost your night vision... there's a lot of good stuff you get from nature, best of it comes from your backyard!

I haven't had an alcoholic drink in over 4 months (besides the odd beer here or there at a BBQ)
I don't abuse my body (but I used to sorta) back when maybe 2 - 3 years ago when we used to binge drink with friends a lot.
No smoking
No alcohol really for the past 2 - 3 years (and never really smoked)

Just started working out a lot and watching what I eat (my diet used to consist mostly of pizza)

I was curious about this stuff, since I recently lost weight and gained a bit of muscle, thought maybe one of these teas that supposedly cleanse your guts out would be a good way to boost metabolism/maybe get rid of any garbage I collected from eating pizza all those years.

I read about on wiki, different intestinal parasites and fungus that people can get and have without even knowing about it and that something like 30 - 70% of people have some kind of parasite living in them at any given time.

eat raw, organic food and eat fermented dairy or fermented vegetables.

Hi guys, Just saying, my doctor told me to drink lots of green tea daily. He says it works good. I have not started it yet cause I take a lot of protein shakes for working out. Who knows, that might not help with the toxin buildup (the shakes that is). I have seen some of those detox gigs online as well with that giant mass that pops out...SCARY! But like the other person mentioned, you digest a massive amount of clays. ..... The funniest thing, tonight, I went to the 70 year old vets office and he told me that he STILL runs with his dog and this helps him a lot. He said that cardio is very important for removing toxins because you exert your stomach muscles. But he told me that you MUST pour it on and breath REAL deep for it to benefit. And I thought I was bringing my pet for a visit LOL.

I hope you can glean some information here and remember, stay away from McDonald's. Do people really think they are getting a real hamburg, pickle, mustard, ketchup, onion, and bun all wrapped up and tossed into a bag and served by a person........for a buck???

The debunkers claim that "mucoid plaque" is caused by massive amounts of psyllium in the colon cleanse products.

sounds a lot like me, i been on a workout spree for about 2 months now and been drinking protein etc also , but i was taking vitamins on the side and things got a lil sluggish , think it was too much vitamin c or zinc... and figured maybe one of these cleansing teas/treatments could help with energy / a little weight loss.

I know a lot people rely on that All-Bran cereal to clean them out, and when I tell them that it has high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), they just say "I don't care".  Roll Eyes

Oatmeal is the best, I just put a little milk and honey in it and it tastes 10x better than frosted flakes! and not even that much honey, just about a tsp in a bowl... takes 2 sec to make....

The funny thing is, when you start eating good and healthy, you really don't want to eat bad anymore... I think they put stuff in breads/sodas/chips/sauces/fast food... etc... to make you more hungry... also it never feels like you are full after eating fast food because the quality of the food is so bad nutritionally that your body isn't satisfied.

Junk food should be thought of as candy.... you wouldn't eat a lolipop or jolly ranchers and expect it to sustain you as your main source of energy for very long would you? fast food should be a treat like candy.
