APNewsBreak: Oslo bomb was 'Oklahoma City-type'

OSLO, Norway (AP) — A police official has told The Associated Press that the bomb used in the attack at the Norwegian prime minister's office was "some kind of Oklahoma City-type" device made of fertilizer and diesel fuel.

The official said it remains unclear what kind of detonator was used for the bomb, which investigators say was packed into a panel truck and killed at least seven people when it went off.

The official was speaking on condition of anonymity because the information has not been formally released.

A 4,000 pound (1,815 kilogram) fertilizer-and-fuel-oil bomb detonated in front of a federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people.

“The most successful alliance in history,” it was called at the end of the Cold War in which NATO, for 40 years, deterred the Red Army from overrunning Berlin or crashing through West Germany to the Channel. And when that Cold War was over, Sen. Richard Lugar famously said, “Either NATO goes out of area or goes out of business.” In Afghanistan and Libya, NATO went out of area. And given the trend in both conflicts, NATO may soon be going out of business. NATO faces “collective military irrelevance,” said Defense Secretary Robert Gates on his valedictory visit to a stunned Brussels last week:

“The mightiest military alliance in history is only 11 weeks into an operation against a poorly armed regime in a sparsely populated country — yet many allies are beginning to run short of munitions, requiring the U.S., once more, to make up the difference.”

Gates’ patience with the Europeans is, understandably, just about exhausted. Two decades after the Soviet Union disintegrated and the Red Army went home, America is still carrying 75 percent of the NATO burden for the defense of Europe. Only five of 28 members invest in defense the 2 percent of gross domestic product required by NATO rules. Major members like the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey refuse to fly air strikes in Libya. France and Britain have run so low on munitions in a war against a sandbox country on the African coast that they have had to borrow U.S. munitions. Germany and Poland are AWOL. With an air operations command capable of handling 300 sorties a day, the allies are struggling to put half that many in the air. Another reason besides European malingering why NATO is in trouble is the fiscal crisis and sea change taking place in the United States. Gates alluded to it. In America, “the reality is changing. … Choices are going to be made more on what is in the best interests of the United States.” With GOP conservatives joining congressional Democrats in seeking to cut off funds for the Libyan war, John Boehner has been forced to take the lead in charging the president with violating the War Powers Act. He is demanding Barack Obama come to Congress to get authorization to continue U.S. participation in the Libyan war. Should the Americans pull out, NATO loses.

It took awhile, but the Cold War consensus is finally shattering. The Cold War consensus centered around a basic proposition: America was going to both pay and provide the military might to insure the national security of the free world. America founded NATO as the alliance to promote that security and Congress paid for a national security establishment that guaranteed the dominance of American troops. That Cold War consensus obviously started at the conclusion of the Second World War, survived both Korea and Vietnam, teetered a bit during the Carter years, and then came back strong during the Reagan years. After the Soviet Union fell apart, it took a while for the Cold War consensus to gain its bearings and its true raison d’etre. The collapse of Yugoslavia gave the Cold War consensus a shot in the arm, as NATO rushed to the rescue of the Serbian Muslims. George Bush browbeat the alliance in helping with the War on Terror, as the Cold War consensus stretched beyond its natural life. The war on terror is winding down. We will be out of Iraq before the next election and we may be out of Afghanistan if Congress has anything to say about it. Secretary Gates just returned from a whirlwind trip, where he basically told the NATO member countries that they had to pay more for their own protection. Many of these countries, especially the Germans, have become both passive and pacifist. They are more than happy to see the Americans take the lead and, oh, by the way, they are against war. Well, it is all well and good to be against war, and to let the Americans take the lead in offering protection, up and until the point where the Americans, and more specifically, the United States Congress, says, we aren’t paying any more.

We have reached that point. The United States is broke. The military industrial complex is trying hard to keep Congressional spending on defense on an upward path, but they are on the defensive. The Obama Administration and even Congressional Republicans now say that defense cuts have to be part of any deficit reduction package. The Republican debate earlier this week hammered home this point. Republicans are now listening more to Ron Paul than they are to Dick Cheney. They are returning back to their familiar philosophical aversion to foreign entanglements and foreign wars. Republicans don’t want to increase taxes to pay for more foreign adventures. They don’t want to increase taxes to pay for anything. This is a sea-change. Since Ronald Reagan, Republican orthodoxy had held that we would spend a lot more than necessary on our defense establishment to intimidate our enemies into peace. And George Bush the II made the global war on terror a truly global fight. This consensus is now ending. Republicans are returning to their more isolationist roots, just as our European partners refuse to pay for their own defense. The Cold War consensus is collapsing. Who knows what will replace it in the years to come.

The timing of this incident is quite interesting, and the somewhat irrelevant quotes from the Prime Minister of New Zealand in the following AFP article make it that much more intriguing.

As the sociopolitical tensions in Europe rise, the Euro falls, and the debt crisis looms, another reminder of the ever-present al Qaeda bogeymen is presented to unite the people against an outside enemy.

Right after the news breaks that an Israeli spy ring was operating in New Zealand, yet again stealing identities, the Prime Minister refuses to comment and shifts the focus towards the other kind of global terrorism.

The false identities being gathered by the Israeli operatives were not going to be used to buy beer for under-aged kids, they would be used for “sensitive” operations like assassinations.

Why is that not regarded as an act of global terrorism? Why was it not, at the least, investigated and regarded as such? When national leaders are bowing to foreign intelligence services, the entire world has a problem on their hands.

“US President Barack Obama offered condolences to Norway after deadly twin attacks Friday and urged countries around the world to step up cooperation to combat terror.

Speaking during a meeting with New Zealand’s Prime Minister John Key, Obama called the attacks “a reminder that the entire international community has a stake inpreventing this kind of terror from occurring.”

“We have to work cooperatively together on intelligence and in terms of prevention of these kinds of horrible attacks,” the president said.

“The US has reached out to the Norwegian authorities to offer assistance, but there have been no specific requests from the Norwegians thus far,” Fulton told AFP.

New Zealand’s prime minister, in his meeting with Obama, also voiced his “sympathies and concerns” over the attacks in Norway.

“If it is an act of global terrorism, then I think that what it shows is no country, large or small, is immune from that risk,” Key said.

“And that’s why New Zealand plays its part in Afghanistan as we try and join others like the United States in making the world a safer place,” he said.

Immediately after the attacks, the Western media was able to draw links between the attack and the Anglo-American run al Qaeda.

A Washington Post article published today shows how confused the information is surrounding this attack.

The first paragraph begins with speculating that the attackers were a Kurdish militant group linked by the U.S. government to al Qaeda called Ansar al-Islam.

Yet, the American Ambassador to Norway, Barry White, relayed in an interview that no conclusions as to who was responsible had been drawn as of yet.

Immediately after this, there is an editor’s update that subsequent official reports have said that the attacker was actually a man from Norway.

This much is clear: no one really knows what is going on and wild speculation abounds. It never takes long for the mainstream media to find a group or individual to pin an attack on, even if there is no evidence to support it (September 11th, anyone?).

To muddy the waters even further, the Mayor of Oslo, Fabian Stang, told CNN that they were not even sure if the bombing and shooting were actually terrorist attacks!

As the President of the European Commission pointed out in the aftermath of these attacks, this is not an event one would expect to see in Norway.

Was this a genuine terrorist attack, or was it yet another attack carried out by some element of the international intelligence community in order to draw attention away from the Israeli operations abroad, the looming financial crisis, the austerity measures being put in place in response to it, the massive daily swindling of public funds, and the crumbling support for the wars in Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Yemen?

If this is indeed a terrorist attack there has yet to be any evidence presented proving such. If this is a distraction, it is a well timed and already effective one.

The much more deadly shooting attack that resulted in the deaths of at least 80 people, according to Norwegian police, has now been attributed to a Norwegian man named Anders Behring Breivik.

Apparently he is a right-wing domestic terrorist with no links to militant Islamic groups. It is quite convenient that the other attack could be pinned on a so-called “right-wing” extremist.

As I have pointed out in some past articles, the shift has been slowly moving away from Muslim patsies to domestic or “homegrown” terrorists. In the United States, this target group has been people identifying themselves as a sovereign citizen.

It will be interesting to see what political ideology or religion they are able to demonize with this tragic attack carried out by a deranged killer.

Whatever it ends up being, we can rest assured knowing that his actions will be projected onto his beliefs, leaving a stigma with whatever he espouses for years to come. Just like Islamophobia is all-too-common around the Western world, we might start seeing conservatiphobia rear its ugly head as well.

We will have to wait and see before any concrete conclusions are drawn, but regardless of who was behind these sad events, they will be an apt distraction and talking point for those seeking to continue the farcical war on terror.

America has been accused of illegally spying on hundreds of people in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Iceland.  Officials in the five countries expressed their unhappiness at surveillance tactics that were conducted without the knowledge of the individual nations' governments.  America claims officials informed the Norwegian government about the operation which was aimed at terror suspects. In other instances, it has stated it has 'nothing to hide'. But Danish security services have stated they will begin an investigation into the matter if evidence of illegal surveillance is uncovered.   The diplomatic dispute erupted on November 3 when Norwegian media outlet TV2 screened a report stating that a group of US agents has been surveilling 15 to 20 Norwegian for 10 years, mostly at various rallies. It stated potential terrorists were photographed, and the information was sent to Washington, to prevent terrorist attacks against U.S. embassies.  A spokesman of the U.S. State Department, Philip Crowley, said that the Norwegian authorities were notified about their covert operation.  'We are implementing the program throughout the world and are vigilant against people who can keep track of our embassies, as we understand that our diplomatic missions are a potential target,' said Mr Crowley.

However, Norway disagrees and a representative of the American embassy was called to the Norwegian Foreign Ministry for an explanation, according to Russian online newspaper Pravda.    When the Norwegian case became public knowledge, Denmark also raised its concerns about the surveillance of its citizens.  Danish newspaper Politiken claimed that all American embassies have surveillance teams to address threats to the U.S. security.  Former head of the Danish security service PET Jorgen Bonniksen said that he had never heard of such groups: 'If this is true, then we have to deal with illegal intelligence operations in Denmark.  'On Danish territory such operations can be conducted by PET, and PET only.' The current head of PET, Jakob Scharf, said that if illegal activity is determined, 'of course, we will take action.'  Sweden followed suit, with Minister of Justice Beatrice Ask stating U.S. Embassy staff in Stockholm have been spying on people there since 2000.

The head of the Stockholm's security police, Anders Danielsson, directly accused the U.S. of violating international norms, stating, 'The Swedish security police (SAPO) did not give the U.S. a permission to engage in activities that are contrary to Swedish law.'  Again the U.S said it had notified Sweden of its actions, but representatives also said they 'have nothing to hide'. Finland weighed last week when authorities in Helsinki declared that they did not believe American reassurances that there was no illegal activity.  Iceland completed the picture in Scandinavia when it declared that it suspected members of the American Embassy in Reykjavik of espionage.  'There is nothing surprising here,' Intelligence expert and author Alexander Kolpakidi told Pravda.ru. 'U.S. intelligence services have always behaved that way around the globe.  'Virtually all countries of the world, including the members of European Union and NATO, have secret CIA tracking stations.'

One major point must be made first and foremost: these attacks were tragic, deplorable, horrific and deeply saddening. That being said, I believe we would be doing the deceased a disservice in not analyzing these events like any other. The individual(s) responsible must be brought to justice and only through massive independent inquiry can this occur.

In my article published yesterday I pointed out how strangely convenient the timing was of these attacks. However, I failed to point out some of the most major pieces of evidence that show an ulterior motive behind the attacks, more than the simplistic al Qaeda terrorist explanation concocted by the Western mainstream media.

The fact is, the evidence pointing towards a militant Islamic organization in relation to these attacks is thin, at best. Yet, the mainstream media was happy to run with it in their lead paragraphs immediately after the disaster regardless of the completely unsubstantiated nature of the speculation.

Once it emerged that the suspect was actually a lone, Caucasian 32-year-old “right-wing” psychopath named Anders Behring Breivik, they moved along as if no one had ever mentioned otherwise.

Breivik was quickly linked to the Progress Party, an allegedly anti-immigrant party according to Businessweek.

In fact, the Progress Party in Norway is anti-immigrant but only in the case of Muslim immigrants. Calling them an anti-immigration party is a complete misnomer as the leader of the Progress Party, Siv Jensen, has openly claimed that the Muslim immigrants are trying to covertly overthrow the governments of Europe.

Jensen harbors an all-too-common delusional conspiracy theory that involves all of the Muslims of the world participating in a “sneak Islamization” of Europe and the West.

In February of 2010 Jensen retracted her claim that Norway was being covertly Islamized and instead now alleges that it is a debate of full blown Islamization.

Jensen also happens to be a rabidly pro-Israeli supporter, scolding Norway for recognizing Hamas, claiming it was negotiating with terrorists.

Jensen has also openly defended Israel’s “right to defend itself,” and her views are mirrored in the Progress Party’s generally pro-Israel stance.

Jensen has claimed in an interview with Standpoint Magazine in 2010 that Israel “respects human rights” and those “left-wing journalists” who say otherwise are “reporting this from a very subjective point of view.” Sorry, Jensen, but the dead bodies of Palestinian children are not subjective.

Conspicuously absent from the mainstream coverage of these twin attacks is this Israeli connection with the bomber clearly being a pro-Israel supporter.

One must also take note of the fact that Norway has officially backed a Palestinian bid for statehood in the United Nations, something which made Israel quite unhappy.

Norway has also said they will pull out of the bombing campaign in Libya, all of which undoubtedly irk the banking and industrial defense contracting interests that fund and profit from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Libyan bombing campaign, and the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen.

This is just the beginning, the coincidences here, if they are coincidences and nothing more, are uncanny.

In the days before the shooting took place in Utoya, Foreign Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Store met with Labour Youth League summer camp participants.

While there he was met with the demand that Norway must recognize the state of Palestine. Foreign Minister Store responded to this by saying that, “the Palestinians must have their own state, the occupation must end, the wall must be demolished and it must happen now.”

Then, the next day, at least 80 people are slaughtered in a brutal massacre. Was this coincidence? Are the suspect’s pro-Israeli ties and the fact that the target was a group of pro-Palestinians pure happenstance?

The Guardian throws two interesting facts into the mix:

Earlier, [the suspect’s Facebook] had listed interests including bodybuilding, conservative politics and freemasonry.

Norwegian media said he had set up a Twitter account a few days ago and posted a single message on 17 July saying: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100,000 who have only interests.”

One must also keep in mind the fact that just last year five Scandinavian governments busted American spies illegally conducting surveillance on their citizens for roughly 10 years.

It would be a great talking point for the CIA units embedded in every foreign embassy to be able to point to the attacks in Oslo and say, “this is what happens when you don’t let us trample all over your laws and spy on your innocent citizens.”

In the wake of being caught red handed spying on yet another sovereign nation without permission, U.S. officials claimed that the Norwegian government had been notified about the covert surveillance operations.

Norway disagreed and demanded an explanation, along with many of the other Scandinavian nations that were unhappy with the breaches of international law systematically carried out by American intelligence operations.

To muddy the waters even further, the Oslo Police conducted an urban bombing exercise in the days preceding the attack. The articles floating around the internet all seem to reference an Aftenposten article which I have not been able to locate.

However, the video is still available. If anyone is able to locate the original article I would appreciate it.

This could very well be an innocent, unrelated mistake, but the fact that one of the biggest pieces of evidence was removed after being cited in an article by Paul Joseph Watson that made its way around the alternative news community is a bit questionable.

As Watson points out, there are far too many examples of a very specific exercise being conducted after which a real terrorist attack occurs under similar or the same circumstances.



This was also the case on September 11th, 2001, when the CIA planned an exercise involving a hijacked airplane crashing into a building, as reported by the Associated Press.

Of course this is dismissed as pure coincidence, which one could easily do if it was not the case that this happens time and time again before real terrorist attacks.

Currently, there is significant evidence that this attack was in response to the recent pro-Palestinian movement in Norway. Of course some supporters of Israel’s occupation manage to claim it is an immense anti-Semitic conspiracy, similar to the laughable covert Islamization conspiracy theory.

Norway’s Foreign Minister, Jonas Gahr Store, has been lambasted in the Israeli media, along with the entire nation of Norway, as anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli.

Store vehemently denies all of these charges and the only evidence against him was his “endorsement” of a book written by two Norwegian doctors who were in Palestine at the time of Israel’s attack campaign known as Cast Lead.

In reality, he didn’t endorse the book in any way, shape or form. Store lauded the authors for standing up and publishing what they witnessed, he did not endorse their conclusions in any way. The lack of independent press presence during Cast Lead makes the book an invaluable resource and Store was merely pointing this out.

There have also been claims in the Israeli media that the current government of Norway is “rabidly hostile” toward Israel. Haaretz apparently quoted a “Norwegian opposition leader” who claimed that the Israeli concerns about Norway are “understandable.”

One might guess that this opposition leader is none other than Siv Jensen but the lack of proper citation leaves the question unanswered.

The above linked article also insinuates that the Norwegian choice to divest funds from a company that was building the wall in the West Bank was the result of an anti-Israeli bias. However, Store points out that they are still invested in 40 Israeli companies.

Also noteworthy is the fact that there have been eyewitness reports of a second gunman being involved in the attacks. For some reason, they seem to be all but completely ignored by the media as they focus on the single individual. The situation is much different if indeed there were multiple shooters and the 32-year-old supposedly right-wing Freemason was not acting alone.

Currently I have not amassed enough evidence to come to any concrete conclusions but as always I think that this demands deep research and intensive investigation as more facts emerge. Jumping to conclusions at this juncture would not be prudent, but we can safely say that there are several questionable aspects of this event.

UPDATE: DHS Denies “Racial Overtones” In ‘White Middle Class Terrorists’ Video

A new promotional video released by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes white middle class Americans as the most likely terrorists, as Big Sis continues its relentless drive to cement the myth that mad bombers are hiding around every corner, when in reality Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes or peanut allergies. The video is part of Homeland Security’s $10 million dollar “See Something, Say Something” program that encourages Americans to report “suspicious activity,” which in every case throughout history has been a trait of oppressive, dictatorial regimes.

In the course of the 10 minute clip, a myriad of different behaviors are characterized as terrorism, including opposing surveillance, using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application. Despite encouraging viewers not to pay attention to a person’s race in determining whether or not they may be a terrorist, almost all of the scenarios in the clip proceed to portray white people as the most likely terrorists. Bizarrely, nearly every single one of the “patriotic” Americans who reports on their fellow citizen is either black, Asian or Arab. Imagine if the video had portrayed every terrorist as an Arab and every patriotic snoop as white, there’d be an outcry and rightly so, but this strange reversal must have been deliberate on the part of the DHS, but why? Is this merely political correctness taken to the extreme or is something deeper at work? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the DHS’ own internal documents list predominantly white conservative groups as the most likely terrorists, such as Ron Paul supporters, gun owners, gold bullion enthusiasts, and a myriad of other comparatively banal political interests that are largely the domain of white middle class Americans.

This has little to do with the color of a person’s skin, and everything to do with the fact that white, middle class Americans are the biggest roadblock when it comes to Big Sis expanding its control over every facet of American society. It’s plain to see that very little of the budget for this video went towards paying for decent actors, but perhaps it’s fitting that the participants were about as believable as Santa and his elves, because the notion that terrorists are hovering around every underground parking lot waiting to blow up federal buildings is demonstrably false.

As Ohio University’s John Mueller has documented, the likelihood of actually being a victim of terrorism is infinitesimally small, and only highlights how such threats are hyperbolically exaggerated for political purposes. Figures collected by Mueller clearly show that Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes, accident-causing deer, or severe allergic reactions to peanuts. But the facts don’t matter for a federal agency whose primary function is to manufacture fear to keep Americans under control and submissive to the fact that their economic futures and their constitutional rights are being torn to shreds by their own government while it points to a contrived outside threat as a convenient distraction. “At its core, the video is filled with scenes of ordinary citizens spying on each other and alerting the authorities to their compatriots’ suspicious deeds,” writes Simon Black. In my favorite scene, a woman calls the police after snooping over the shoulder of a young man typing away on his smartphone.” Black notes that such videos are solely aimed at reinforcing ignorance, hate and fear for those who still live in darkness and are completely unaware of the real agenda behind Homeland Security’s “see something, say something” charade.

But what is that agenda?

No matter where you look, from East Germany, to Communist Russia, to Nazi Germany, historically governments who encourage their own citizens to report on each other do so not for any genuine safety concerns or presumed benefits to security, but in order to create an authoritarian police state that coerces the people into policing each other’s behavior and thoughts. As Robert Gellately of Florida State University has highlighted, Germans under Hitler denounced their neighbors and friends not because they genuinely believed them to be a security threat, but because they expected to selfishly benefit from doing so, both financially, socially and psychologically via a pavlovian need to be rewarded by their masters for their obedience. At the height of its influence around one in seven of the East German population was an informant for the Stasi. As in Nazi Germany, the creation of an informant system was wholly centered around identifying political dissidents and those with grievances against the state, and had little or nothing to do with genuine security concerns. This is the kind of society the Department of Homeland Security is, whether deliberately or inadvertently, recreating in 21st century America. It is about as far removed as you can possibly get from the vision the founders of the nation had in mind when they created the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.

Comment by Alex Jones: This DHS video is purposefully designed to transmit fear and hatred of Muslims over to white Americans. Look at the part of the clip where an image of “Jihad Jane” is displayed, the blue eyes are artificially intensified in order to get the message across. This is about playing minorities off against whites, creating further resentment and suspicion, getting us at each other’s throats just as how different racial groups were set upon each other in Hitler’s Germany to create an environment of fear and distrust, motivating people to inform on each other for the state. The only explosive device I know that uses sulfur in its manufacture is black powder, which is the main ingredient in pipe bombs.  So most likely the devices were large pipe bombs, perhaps strapped to a canister of propane for extra fire.


In addition, the cops are now saying there was just one bomb placed in a car.  However, the forensic evidence seems to indicate blasts from inside the building:

The government narrative of the “White Alqaeda” threat has been ongoing for at least 3 years now. The latest bombing in Norway is continuing the saga. In a recent development, a report from USA Today reads, “A police official tells the Associated Press that today’s terror is more like the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing by Timothy McVeigh than the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center by Islamist fundamentalists.”

This event is feeding into a growing trend in which western governments are turning their anti-terror apparatus inward. The Department of Homeland Security recently released a video in which the depiction of terrorist activity involved white men in every threat scenario.Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano recently made clear that domestic terrorism is at the center of the government’s focus.

In the aftermath of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, Time Magazine printed an article in which the government’s post-bombing propaganda campaign is expressed vividly. The article stated in part that individuals like Timothy McVeigh “…drew on widespread mistrust and even hatred of government power… Their coalition included well-known elements of far-right thought: tax-protesters; Christian home-schoolers; conspiracy theorists influenced by the John Birch Society’s fear of one-world government; Second Amendment activists for whom guns are an important part of an independent way of life; self-reliant types who resent a Federal Government…”

Behind the smoke rising from Oslo the economic collapse of the European Union – and the world – is brewing in the background. Resistance to the banking takeover has entered into the government threat matrix and the international criminal profile is turning towards white middle class individuals. In November of 2008 the United States Army War College released the report Known Unknowns: Unconventional “Strategic Shocks” in Defense Strategy Development. The report identifies economic collapse as a reason for the defense establishment to conduct domestic operations.

The geopolitical ramifications of this event will pan out in the next week as the government codifies its official narrative.

I do not understand, how is her analysis any less believable than Rothschild's AP/Reuters? THERE HAS BEEN NO INVESTIGATION. This is like a shouting match to pick the patsy, there has been zero evidence of anything other than a commitment to avoid the obvious...this was a NATO sponsored false flag operation.

And look at this incredible statement:

And RawStory usually has some good info, but when it comes to attacking GOP globalist puppets like Ingram...they go all out, usually by reinforcing Bilderberg mythology. In this case the absolute (and thoroughly disproven) myth about a lone gunman who hated brown people so much that he slaughtered over 90 of the whitest children on the planet.

The patsy could have been a complete patsy. The operatives murdering the children likely were in various locations and all had fake identification as in the cases of Fort Hood. Remember how the bodies were changed in the ambulance ride to the morgue...hospital. Remeber how the body was dead, but then it was alive after 2 hours? Also...the witnesses reported that the shooters wore headgear and were communicating with handlers the entire time. Also some of the assassins wore ski masks. Also the boat ride, the uniform, the links to secret societies, etc.

The National Clandestine Service (NCS) (formerly known as the Directorate of Operations) is one of the four main components of the Central Intelligence Agency. Created in 2005, the NCS "serves as the clandestine arm of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the national authority for the coordination, de-confliction, and evaluation of clandestine operations across the Intelligence Community of the United States".[1] The current Director of the NCS is John D. Bennett.[2]
Creation of the National Clandestine Service

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, a report by the Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community Activities before and after the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001 conducted by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the 9/11 Commission Report released by the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States identified serious shortcomings in the HUMINT capabilities of the US Intelligence Community ranging from the lack of qualified linguists to the lack of information sharing within the IC. These efforts resulted in the passage of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act in 2004 which created the position of the Director of National Intelligence and tasked the CIA Director with developing a "strategy for improving the human intelligence and other capabilities of the Agency.".[3]

Going even further, in 2004, Senator Pat Roberts, Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, drafted the 9/11 National Security Protection Act[4] in which he proposed that the Directorate of Operations be removed from the CIA and established as an independent agency known as the National Clandestine Service. The creation of the National Clandestine Service was also recommended by the Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction, the "WMD Commission".[5] The investigation by the WMD Commission found that HUMINT capabilities had been severely degraded since the end of the Cold War and were ill-suited to targeting non-state actors such as terrorist organizations. The WMD Commission also noted that HUMINT operations were poorly coordinated between the various federal entities who conducted them and encouraged the development of better methods of validating human sources, in light of the revelations about the source known as Curveball.

Beginning its study of the Intelligence Community in 1995, a non-governmental group, which included former Director of the National Security Agency Lieutenant General William Odom, former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Lieutenant General Harry E. Soyster, former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and current Director of National Intelligence Lieutenant General James Clapper, and former General Counsel for the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker, issued a report, first in 1997 and in an updated form in 2002, which recommended the creation of the National Clandestine Service.[6]

The CIA announced the creation of the National Clandestine Service in a press release on October 13, 2005.[7] Contrary to Senator Roberts' proposal, the National Clandestine Service would be a component of the CIA, rather than an independent executive branch agency.
Historical Predecessors of the NCS

The Directorate of Operations (DO) was the branch of the CIA that ran covert operations and recruited foreign agents. The DO reportedly employed 1,000–2,000 people[citation needed] and was headed by a deputy director for operations (DDO). This directorate consisted of, among other subdivisions, a unit for political and economic covert action (the Covert Action Staff, or CAS), for paramilitary (PM) covert action (the Special Operations unit), for counterintelligence (the CI staff, or CIS]), and for several geographic desks responsible for the collection of foreign intelligence. It was created August 1, 1952, as the Directorate of Plans and was renamed the Directorate of Operations on March 1, 1973.[8]

The Directorate of Operations also housed special groups for conducting counterterrorism and counternarcotics, for tracking nuclear proliferation, and other tasks. Administrated by the DO, the paramilitary (PM) operations officers from the legendary Special Operations Group or (SOG) are maintained in the elite Special Activities Division (SAD). They are highly skilled in weaponry; covert transport of personnel and material by air, sea, and land; guerrilla warfare; the use of explosives; assassination and sabotage; and escape and evasion techniques. They are prepared to respond quickly to myriad possible needs, from parachute drops and communications support to assistance with counter narcotics operations and defector infiltration. Special Activities maintains a symbiotic relationship with the Joint Special Operations Command, and is run largely by former members of JSOC.[9] SAD/SOG is one of three special missions units. The other two are Delta and SEAL team six.[9]

In the 2003 book, Special OPS: America's elite forces in 21st century combat, the author states:
"Highly classified, the SAD is regarded as the preeminent special operations unit in the world. Members are the elite of the elite; "the best period." This results from the sources from which the organization recruits its members: Special missions units (SMUs); such as Delta Force and NSWDG (United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group)..." [10]

For special operations missions and its other responsibilities, the Special Operations staff attempted to recruit people with the appropriate specialized skills, although the geographic desks remain the principal units involved in the recruitment of personnel in so-called denied areas (Libya, Iraq, Iran, etc.). Special operations also provided special air, ground, maritime and training support for the Agency's intelligence gathering operations.

The DO has been subject to harsh criticism in the media, and due to its covert and independent nature did not, or could not, effectively respond. Its capabilities had been in decline since the public outcry resulting from the revelations of highly questionable actvities by the Church Committee. Furthermore, the DO fought frequent "turf" battles amongst the Executive Branch bureaucracies, most prominently with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, State Department and the Department of Defense. This was one of the principal reasons that the NCS was formed.

A major headquarters element was the Counterintelligence Staff, most powerful when headed by James Jesus Angleton. It was the principal US organization responsible for vetting potential new clandestine HUMINT assets, and for US offensive counterespionage and deception.

Under an assortment of names, such as Special Activities Division, there is a paramilitary function that may enter and prepare an area of operations before United States Army Special Forces enter in a more overt military role. This may or may not include psychological operations, especially black propaganda; paramilitary and psychological functions have split and joined under various historical reorganizations.

Various groups provide support services, such as cover documentation and disguise.[12] A technical services unit, sometimes in the clandestine division and occasionally in the Directorate of Science and Technology, contained both espionage equipment development and sometimes questionable research, such as the MKULTRA mind control program.
NCS Officers

The National Clandestine Service consists of six different types of officers[13] :

Below are brief descriptions of these six types of officers. For a more detailed description, visit the CIA website.

1) Operations Officers:
Operations Officers (OOs) are focused full time on clandestinely spotting, assessing, developing, recruiting, and handling individuals with access to vital foreign intelligence on the full range of national security issues.[14]

2) Collection Management Officers:
Core Collector-certified Collection Management Officers (CMOs) oversee and facilitate the collection, evaluation, classification, and dissemination of foreign intelligence developed from clandestine sources. CMOs play a critical role in ensuring that foreign intelligence collected by clandestine sources is relevant, timely, and addresses the highest foreign policy and national security needs of the nation.[15]

3) Staff Operations Officers:
Based out of CIA Headquarters in Washington, DC, Staff Operations Officers (SOOs) plan, guide and support intelligence collection operations, counterintelligence activities and covert action programs.[16]

4) Targeting Officers:
Officers in this career track will directly support and drive complex worldwide NCS operations to develop actionable intelligence against the highest priority threats to U.S. national security.[17]

5) Paramilitary Operations Officers:
Qualified candidates can expect to focus on intelligence operations and activities for U.S. policymakers in hazardous and austere overseas environments.[18]

The National Clandestine Service's primary action arm is the Special Activities Division (SAD), which conducts direct action-like raids, ambushes, sabotage, assassinations, unconventional warfare (e.g. training and leading guerrillas), and deniable psychological operations, the latter also known as "covert influence." While special reconnaissance may be either a military or intelligence operation, these usually are executed by SAD officers in denied areas.[9][19] Paramilitary operations officers are chosen mainly from the ranks of: the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group and other SEAL teams; the U.S. Army's Combat Applications Group (Delta Force), Army special forces, and U.S. Army Rangers; the United States Marine Corps Forces Special Operations battalions (MARSOC); and the Air Force Combat Controllers and Air Force Pararescuemen.[9] SAD operatives are the most specialized because they combine the best special operations and clandestine intelligence (spy) capabilities in one individual. They operate in any environment (sea, air, or ground) and with limited to no support. They originate in the Special Operations Group (SOG) of SAD, considered one of the most elite special operations units in the world.[20] Paramilitary operations officers are the primary recipients of the coveted Distinguished Intelligence Cross and the Intelligence Star, the two highest medals for valor in the CIA. Not surprisingly, the majority of those memorialized on the Wall of Honor at CIA headquarters were covert operatives.[21]

6) NCS Language Officers
Performing a critical and dynamic function within the National Clandestine Service (NCS), the Language Officer applies advanced foreign language skills, experience, and expertise to provide high-quality translation, interpretation, and language-related support for a variety of NCS clandestine operations.[22]
Covert action

A covert action is defined as "an activity or activities of the United States Government to influence political, economic, or military conditions abroad, where it is intended that the role of the United States Government will not be apparent or acknowledged publicly".[23] A covert operation differs from a clandestine operation in that emphasis is placed on concealment of the identity of the sponsor rather than on concealment of the operation.[19]

Covert operations include paramilitary and psychological activities. See Psychological Operations (United States) for a more general discussion of US psychological operations, including those operations for which the CIA is responsible and those that belong to other agencies.

Executive Order 12333 bans assassinations by persons employed by or acting on behalf of the United States Government.[24]
Clandestine Collection of HUMINT

Legal Authorities

A number of statutes, executive orders, and directives assign the task of conducting HUMINT operations to the CIA:

1) By federal statute, the Director of the CIA is tasked with the collection of intelligence through human sources and by other appropriate means.[25]

2) Executive Order 12333[26] states that:

The Director of the Central Intelligence Agency shall coordinate the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence collected through human sources or through human-enabled means and counterintelligence activities outside the United States.

3) National Security Council Intelligence Directive No. 5 (NSCID 5)[27] provides that:

The Director of Central Intelligence shall conduct all organized Federal espionage operations outside the United States and its possessions for the collection of foreign intelligence information required to meet the needs of all Departments and Agencies concerned, in connection with the national security, except for certain agreed activities by other Departments and Agencies.

4) Intelligence Community Directive Number 340 designates the Director of the CIA as the National HUMINT Manager.[28]

Tradecraft

Techniques for the clandestine collection of HUMINT are collectively known as tradecraft. A discussion of many of these techniques can be found at Clandestine HUMINT operational techniques.

Very few statutes and publicly available regulations deal specifically with clandestine HUMINT techniques. One such statute forbids the use of journalists as agents unless the President of the United States makes the written determination to waive this restriction based on the "overriding national security interest of the United States.".[29] In the Intelligence Authorization Act for the Fiscal Year 2002, Congress directed the CIA Director to rescind what Congress viewed as overly restrictive guidelines regarding the recruitment of foreign assets who had a record of human rights violations.[30]

Clandestine technical collection

The Agency also may be responsible for developing communications systems appropriate for clandestine operations. In 1962, the Central Intelligence Agency, Deputy Directorate for Research (now the Deputy Directorate for Science and Technology), formally took on ELINT and COMINT responsibilities.[31] "The consolidation of the ELINT program was one of the major goals of the reorganization... it is responsible for: ELINT support peculiar to the penetration problems associated with the Agent's reconnaissance program under NRO. Maintain a quick reaction capability for ELINT and COMINT equipment."

"CIA's Office of Research and Development was formed to stimulate research and innovation testing leading to the exploitation of non-agent intelligence collection methods....All non-agent technical collection systems will be considered by this office and those appropriate for field deployment will be so deployed. The Agency's missile detection system, Project [deleted] based on backscatter radar is an example. This office will also provide integrated systems analysis of all possible collection methods against the Soviet antiballistic missile program is an example."

Sometimes in cooperation with technical personnel at other agencies such as NSA when the collection discipline is SIGINT, or DIA when the techniques come MASINT, or other appropriate agencies such as the United States Department of Energy for nuclear information, CIA may work to place technical collection equipment in denied territory. They have also cooperated in placing such equipment into US embassies. Emplacing and servicing such equipment is another form of clandestine operation, of which the adversary should not be aware.

These include:[31]
Research, development, testing, and production of ELINT and COMINT collection equipment for all Agency operations.
Technical operation and maintenance of CIA deployed non-agent ELINT systems.
Training and maintenance of agent ELINT equipments
Technical support to the Third Party Agreements.
Data reduction of Agency-collected ELINT signals.

See MASINT from clandestinely placed sensors. CIA took on a more distinct MASINT responsibility in 1987.[32] The National Security Archive commented, "In 1987, Deputy Director for Science and Technology Evan Hineman established... a new Office for Special Projects. concerned not with satellites, but with emplaced sensors – sensors that could be placed in a fixed location to collect signals intelligence or measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT) about a specific target. Such sensors had been used to monitor Chinese missile tests, Soviet laser activity, military movements, and foreign nuclear programs. The office was established to bring together scientists from the DS&T’s Office of SIGINT Operations, who designed such systems, with operators from the Directorate of Operations, who were responsible for transporting the devices to their clandestine locations and installing them".
Overt HUMINT

In addition they may produce HUMINT from overt sources, such as voluntary interviews with travelers, businesspeople, etc. Some of the latter may be considered open source intelligence OSINT and be performed by other agencies, just as reports from diplomats are another form of HUMINT that flows into the Department of State.

At times, this function may be assigned to CIA, because its counter-intelligence staff has biographical indexes that let them check the background of foreign citizens offering information. For example, there may be a name check on a business or scientific contact who meets either with CIA representatives or staff of the National Open Source Enterprise
Approval of clandestine and covert operations

The Directorate of Plans (DDP) was created in 1952, taking control of the Office of Policy Coordination, a covert action group that received services from the CIA but did not go through the CIA management. The other main unit that went into the Directorate of Plans was the Office of Special Operations, which did clandestine intelligence collection (e.g., espionage) as opposed to covert action.

Approval of clandestine and covert operations came from a variety of committees, although in the early days of quasi-autonomous offices and the early DDP, there was more internal authority to approve operations.[33] After its creation in the Truman Administration, the CIA was, at first, the financial manager for OPC and OSO, authorized to handle "unvouchered funds" by National Security Council document 4-A of December 1947, the launching of peacetime covert action operations. NSC 4-A made the Director of Central Intelligence responsible for psychological warfare, establishing at the same time the principle that covert action was an exclusively Executive Branch function.
Early autonomy of OPC

At first, the supervision by committee allowed the OPC to exercise

"early use of its new covert action mandate dissatisfied officials at the Departments of State and Defense. The Department of State, believing this role too important to be left to the CIA alone and concerned that the military might create a new rival covert action office in the Pentagon, pressed to reopen the issue of where responsibility for covert action activities should reside. Consequently, on June 18, 1948, a new NSC directive, NSC 10/2, superseded NSC 4-A.

NSC 10/2 directed CIA to conduct "covert" rather than merely "psychological" operations, defining them as all activities "which are conducted or sponsored by this Government against hostile foreign states or groups or in support of friendly foreign states or groups but which are so planned and executed that any US Government responsibility for them is not evident to unauthorized persons and that if uncovered the US Government can plausibly disclaim any responsibility for them".

NSC 10/2 defined the scope of these operations as: "propaganda; economic warfare; preventive direct action, including sabotage, demolition and evacuation measures; subversion against hostile states, including assistance to underground resistance movements, guerrillas and refugee liberations [sic] groups, and support of indigenous anti-Communist elements in threatened countries of the free world. Such operations should not include armed conflict by recognized military forces, espionage, counter-espionage, and cover and deception for military operations." [34]

Guerrilla warfare was outside this statement of scope, but such operations came under partial CIA control with NSC 10/5 of October 1951. See "Psychological Strategy Board" below. To implement covert actions under NSC 10/2, OPC was created on September 1, 1948. Its initial structure had it taking "guidance from the Department of State in peacetime and from the military in wartime, initially had direct access to the State Department and to the military without having to proceed through CIA's administrative hierarchy, provided the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) was informed of all important projects and decisions. In 1950 this arrangement was modified to ensure that policy guidance came to OPC through the DCI. During the Korean War the OPC grew quickly. Wartime commitments and other missions soon made covert action the most expensive and bureaucratically prominent of CIA's activities.

"Concerned about this situation, DCI Walter Bedell Smith in early 1951 asked the NSC for enhanced policy guidance and a ruling on the proper "scope and magnitude" of CIA operations. The White House responded with two initiatives. In April 1951 President Truman created the Psychological Strategy Board (PSB) under the NSC to coordinate government-wide psychological warfare strategy."

Putting special operations under a "psychological" organization paralleled the military's development of United States Army Special Forces, which was created by a Pentagon unit called the Psychological Warfare Division. "NSC 10/5, issued in October 1951, reaffirmed the covert action mandate given in NSC 10/2 and expanded CIA's authority over guerrilla warfare"[35] The PSB was soon abolished by the incoming Eisenhower administration, but the expansion of CIA's covert action writ in NSC 10/5 helped ensure that covert action would remain a major function of the Agency.[33]

As the Truman administration ended, CIA was near the peak of its independence and authority in the field of covert action. Although CIA continued to seek and receive advice on specific projects ...no group or officer outside of the DCI and the President himself had authority to order, approve, manage, or curtail operations.
Increasing control by CIA management

After Smith, who was Eisenhower's World War II Chief of Staff, consolidated of OSO, OPC, and CIA in 1952, the Eisenhower administration began narrowing CIA's latitude in 1954. In accordance with a series of National Security Council directives, the responsibility of the Director of Central Intelligence for the conduct of covert operations was further clarified. President Eisenhower approved NSC 5412 on March 15, 1954, reaffirming the Central Intelligence Agency's responsibility for conducting covert actions abroad". A series of committees, containing reprresentatives from State, Defense, CIA, and sometimes the White House or NSC, reviewed operations. Over time and reorganizations, these committees were called the Operations Coordinating Board (OCB), NSC 5412/2 Special Group or simply Special Group, Special Group (Augmented), 303 Committee, and Special Group (Counterinsurgency).[33]

I was talking to someone today and I said that the quicker that the official story "gels" the higher of a chance it was a False Flag. Real events are often unsolved for weeks, months, even years with some details never answered to anyone's satisfaction. They remain shrouded in mystery. Whereas False Flags have their nice neat explanations that answer all the important questions and most of the unimportant ones. Norwegian media reports identified the suspect linked to Friday's deadly attacks as Anders Behring Breivik.

Oslo, Norway (CNN) -- A rambling, 1,500-page manifesto purportedly written by the suspect in Friday's bloody terror attacks in Norway lays out right-wing extremist views and vows that a "European civil war" will lead to the execution of "cultural Marxists" and the banishing of Muslims.

While the title page of the document says "By Andrew Berwick," the writer goes on to later to identify himself as Anders Behring Breivik, the suspect in the Norwegian terrorist attacks.

The document, which is part political diatribe, part confessional and part action plan, details Breivik's background and his plans to commit Friday's attacks. It also contains various photos of him.

"If you are concerned about the future of Western Europe you will definitely find the information both interesting and highly relevant," the author writes, adding later that the work took him nine years to complete.

'I played dead, that's why he put the bullet in my shoulder,' youth leader tells CBC

A Norway youth camp shooting survivor told CBC News Network Saturday that he played dead around the bodies of his friends and didn't dare move — even when the gunman shot him in the shoulder at close range.
Adrian Pracon, 21, a youth leader at the Utoya camp who spoke to CBC News Network ahead of going into surgery for his wound, recalled how he was so close to the gunman that he "felt the warmth" from his weapon.

Pracon said he was on his way up to the coffee shop to buy some chips and soda and planned to share with the other people about the bombing in Oslo when gunshots rang out.

"I'm standing there buying this and then 10, 20 seconds and the shooting started. People are running up hill towards coffee shop. Many made it but many didn't make it and were shot. They landed at my feet."

"We all ran into the water, at which point, I didn't have time to take off my clothes, it was very hard to swim and I struggled," Pracon said.

"We turned back [and] the gunman aimed the barrel at me. I said, 'Please don't shoot.' He didn't shoot. He was five, 10 metres away. I got back, changed to a sweater [and] tried to stay calm. Suddenly, the gunman started to shoot at people again."

It was then that Pracon lay among his dead friends.

"I was lucky. I was lying on the ground and I played dead, that's why he put the bullet in my shoulder," he said. "I didn't move, I was so focused not to move. He shot from a distance of one metre.

"I could hear his breath, I could hear his shoes. I could feel the warmth from the gun."

"I saw many dead people," said Elise, whose father, didn't want her to disclose her last name. "He first shot people on the island. Afterward he started shooting people in the water."

Elise said she hid behind the same rock that the killer was standing on.

"I could hear his breathing from the top of the rock," she said.

She said it was impossible to say how many minutes passed while she was waiting for him to stop.
