I wonder if the relatives of the original owner in any similar case could have "squatted" and got the house that way. In fact. I wonder if a person in Texas could just stop paying the mortgage, and then their cousin can move in for $16. Then the cousin can buy a house, not pay the mortgage, and the first one can go live in that house. The two of them would have two houses for $32, plus a few thousand for setting up the original two mortgages. That sounds like a good deal to me.

I wonder about those neighbors though.

Of course the yuppies aint pissed at the banks for creating the financial mess that led to all the forclosed homes being on the market now being sold at fire sale prices.

Too F###king bad for them, maybe if they would wake their @$$ up to what is going on and stop being yes men to whatever their banker bosses tell them.

What they do is send you  a list of forclosed homes in your area.

Some all you have to do is pay the back taxes on to via the state and the house is yours free and clear, the banks being the losers cuz the state gets their money before the banks do.  Others you get great re-fi deals after the bank realizes that they would rather have something coming in  $$$ than nothing.  The folly of the adjustable rate mortgage practice.

I'd take advantage of this myself but I don't know where I'll be settling down if I do at all in Florida.
