Then when they play (Fox News) the clip of Ron Paul talking about his position on insurance, they cut the insurance part out! Nice move FOX! Man you suck. After Prohibition the possession and consumption of alcohol was not "legalized" it was "decriminalized". There are literally hundreds of laws in the US controlling alcohol and each is specific to the State or County. For example: - In Kansas, a state that outlawed alcohol sales until 1948 — a full 15 years after Congress repealed Prohibition — 29 counties still don't allow the sale of individual glasses of liquor.
- Until 2005, bartenders in South Carolina were required by law to use minibottles of booze to mix drinks.
- In New York, liquor stores cannot be jointly owned, and the sole proprietor is required to live within a certain distance of his or her establishment.

The feds do regulate the international importation at the borders however, but the state has the power to require a specific route it will take through the state from the border if that state does not allow the imported product, or petition for another point of entry into the USA through a state that allows the product.
