Just how many "protected" child abuse and satanist networks are there?

I've read the Franklin scandal, the McMartin preschool case, and I wonder, just how many of these "protected" or "above the law" child abuse and satanist networks are there? One in each state? Or one in each town/city to serve local doctors, lawyers, engineers, judges, and politicians? Why are there so many pedophiles and devil-worshipers in places of power, prominence, and authority? And why are they always "covered for" when they get caught?

If my neighbor is a prominent doctor or engineer, should I automatically assume that he is a pedophile, a satanist, and belongs to one of these "rings?" Is that how endemic this stuff is?
