Arguably, the last real president was Nixon. He made the mistake of thinking he actually had some actual power over the oligarchs that run America, and they set him up for the big fall down. All the rest since him have been complete actors. Not saying Nixon was wonderful, but he was not allowing himself to be a completely controlled puppet. The president is simply not allowed to do that.
