This is so great!
I do wonder about the police program to confiscate (pay for) guns and then destroy them? That is taxpayer money they use to disarm the people! Then, they are destroyed? I don't get it. The guns should at least be sold again by the Police so that taxpayer dollars are repaid!
I thought we were in financial crisis. That money would be better being paid to schools. What the?

And, why should the police pay for guns? Why not just give the citizens the money, instead & let them keep their guns? The police just destroy them, anyway.
Hooray for the folks buying the guns and re-distributing them! So cool.

YAY! What a wonderful idea.
Better they are recycled than that police are tied up from the job of preventing people from stealing them

As far as the LEO's taking people guns from them, do you all REALLY believe they are destroyed?
I think the guns are sold and proceeds go to funding other tyrannical operations! Or a few guns are snatched, to be used as a throw-down piece (street language for planting evidence on a suspect at a crime scene), which we know that happens in this particular occupation more than we care to think about.

A couple of years ago there was an article on a $50 handgun buy back in the Nor-east... Pictured in one of the lines awaiting her turn was a woman holding a a pristine MkIV .455 Webley revolver that appeared to be in excellent shape... I was shocked... at that time that revolver in that condition was worth well over $1000... Wise up people, how many illicit fortunes and high dollar gun collections are being created and augmented by these programs... I am a bit more jaded about the police in these gun - buying situations. How many times on tv do we see mystery guns planted in suspects cars, homes, persons ? Call me gullible... I have been brainwashed by the mass media plot lines. Call me paranoid... I do not trust our government. You gotta admit that a spare handgun seems to come in handy in so many crime shows. Or am I confusing reality with fantasy ?

Another thing to consider is that kops in war-torn nations have been caught simply selling these types of firearms back to the public for personal gain during UN-style “disarmament” programs. Of course, that would never happen in the US. For instance, TSA “authorities” would never sell confiscated items on e-bay…wait…what?

I tried for years arguing with the Pro gunners in NY we should do this. I had no takers to help me out other than a bunch of whiners. This is GREAT Finally someone got enough folks together to do this.

ONLY because they are blind. Any good cop should know well that a handgun in the possession of a responsible citizen/patriot (who is educated on gun use) is no threat to the common people - only would-be criminals. I suspect the majority of 'good cops' would much rather respond to a situation of a robber that was ran off by a homeowner with a gun, than to respond to a call about 4 dead family members in a house due to a criminal killing them. After all, police have guns too - it's necessary for their job. Not all cops are sane - so there's as much of a risk with a gun in the hands of a cop as any citizen. Plus, just statistically - I suspect guns have killed more people in the hands of 'governments' than in the hands of private citizens. Criminals will have guns - that's why they are called 'criminals' - they have no regard for any law.

This reminds me of something they would try in High School. I don't get it. They know guns reduce crime and they know thousands are sold every day so they can't possibly believe this get's guns out of the hands of criminals.
The only thing I can figure is they have programs like this to program kids and soccer moms that guns are bad.

Right on. Two average citizens who happened to be armed walk into an establishment and sit down for a meal or whatever. Odds are that the place just got X% safer. Two cops walk into that same establishment... "condition yellow", cuz you never know what these crazy asshats might do!
