Thanks for the heads up, I'll be tuning in. :)

I wonder what questions Dave will ask him?

It used to be said that Letterman was more of a libertarian back in the NBC days.

I was enjoying it up until Rand talked about "paying your fair share".  Come on, Rand, wake up already... can someone in Kentucky give him an education on federal taxation?

Seriously, if someone in Kentucky can physically place it in his hands, I will buy him a copy of "Income Tax: Shattering the Myths".

Rand was quite dissapointing. Stupid argument with competition in latenight shows to get the point across that basic services like firemen need to be privatized. So if you cant pay we will let your house burn down. Certain public services should never be in private hands, also not in federal hands but in local government hands like water supply.

And why taxcuts for the very rich? They dont pay taxes to begin with cause they have the staff and resources to find and exploit all the loopholes. Why cant he talk straight? Cause he is a career politician.

While I agree with the sentiment for the most part, attacking him for his ignorance is a little unfair.  It is a fact that despite being the oh so almighty "leaders" in Congress, most House and Senate members have as much of a grasp on the income tax (and taxation in general) as the American public.  What he needs is an education on the subject.  After he is presented with the facts and had every question that would inevitably arise addressed adequately, if he continues to spew the ignorance-perpetuating nonsense that is the mass misunderstanding of taxation, then any and all attacks would surely be justified as he would certainly deserve it.

"Privatization" is a platitude and mere talking point when it comes from or is delivered to the ignorant.  From and to those who understand that it is a tool for centralization and monopoly is the dangerous aspect.  However, that's not Rand, imo... not yet anyway.

As for the "rich" paying taxes:  In most cases, they are just as liable as any other American... as in, not at all.  This ongoing "we are a democracy" attitude that is prevalent today in which the "downtrodden" masses feel that those better off then they are should pay for government services is just absurd and a poison.  The fact is that except for some very narrow circumstances, the imposition of taxes levied by Congress does not reach the average American worker... no matter how rich or poor.  Once again, it is ignorance that perpetuates the lie and those who are ignorant are useful tools in keeping that lie alive and profitable for the Federal Reserve.

One of our few hopes for real change in our Republic.  God bless the entire Paul clan for continuing to fight for our Constitution.
