A Diplomatic Scramble as an Ally Is Pushed to the Exit

An effigy of President Hosni Mubarak hung from a traffic light in Tahrir Square in Cairo on Tuesday.

This article is by Mark Landler, Helene Cooper and David D. Kirkpatrick.

WASHINGTON — Last Sunday at 2 p.m., a blue-and-white Air Force jet left Andrews Air Force Base bound for Cairo. On board was Frank G. Wisner, an adroit ex-diplomat whom President Obama had asked hours before to undertake a supremely delicate mission: nudging President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt out of power.

What exactly Mr. Wisner would say was still in flux as he flew to Egypt, administration officials said Tuesday; he talked with senior officials in Washington several times during the nearly 14-hour flight. By the time Mr. Wisner met with the Egyptian leader on Tuesday, the diplomat knew what message he would deliver. And Mr. Mubarak had already lost the backing of his other crucial pillar of support: the Egyptian military, which declared it would not open fire on the demonstrators who were demanding his ouster.

The story of how Mr. Mubarak, an Arab autocrat who only last month was the mainstay of America’s policy in a turbulent region, suddenly found himself pushed toward the exit is first and foremost a tale of the Arab street.

Gates: Killing the internet is easy
Gun power trumps tweet power

By Gavin Clarke in San Francisco • Get more from this author

Posted in Networks, 2nd February 2011 05:48 GMT

excerpt:

When US TV anchor Katie Couric asked the Microsoft co-founder and chairman if he was surprised that Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak could take the unprecedented step of killing the entire Egyptian internet, Gates responded with an emphatic: "no".

Sometimes, he knows what he's talking about.

"It's not that hard to shut the Internet down if you have military power where you can tell people that's what's going to happen," Gates said. "Whenever you do something extraordinary like that you're sort of showing people you're afraid of the truth getting out, so it's a very difficult tactic, but certainly it can be shut off."

Mubarak defies protesters saying he will “die” on Egyptian soil (Video)
February 1st, 2011 7:45 pm ET

CAIRO – While a quarter-million protesters have been demanding President Hosni Mubarak step down, his speech to his country today was that he will serve out the rest of his term in office until September and will “die” on Egyptian soil.

That wasn’t enough for protesters as they watched Mubarak on a giant TV.  They were seen booing and wave their shoes over their heads asking Mubarak to “Go, go, go!”

"This is my dear homeland ... I have lived in it, I fought for it and defended its soil, sovereignty and interests. On its soil I will die. History will judge me and all of us,” Mubarak said.

Look at all the globalists supporting this bullshit coup. Newsweek, Time, CFR, Telegraph, BBC, CNN, etc. The Iran false threat was not enough, they need their Armageddon plans in the Middle East.  Romney needs his zionist "clensing" for a second coming. So do all the other psychos. Here comes the shift from the "peaceful revolution". The neo-cons were losing power in Israel after the flotilla massacre and the Stuxnet insanity. Looks like they just got a boondoggle of a gift from allah...

[Note: neocons in Israel cannot keep power unless a great threat is manufactured...CIA/MI6's muslim brotherhood is the perfect new asymmetric threat]

OK, well one royal vizier/satrap down, 191 to go.

I whole-heartedly agree that this coup is being engineered for all the wrong reasons, but that does not mean for me that I want Mubarak to stay.

But again, it is not up to me -- it is up to the Egyptian people possibly now, whether they are misguided or not.

No it is not strange however, There are many western educated students there and they make signs for television consumption by the west.  You will see this in most mid east protest that are being televised in fact.

Egyptian army tells protesters to 'go home'; vocal crowds confront Mubarak supporters

CAIRO - The Egyptian army called Wednesday for an end to the massive demonstrations that have rocked this city and shaken President Hosni Mubarak's decades-old grip on power, but the sea of protesters showed no sign of dispersing.

With Mubarak promising to step down after elections this fall, military spokesman Ismail Etman said in a state television address that the protesters should focus on "returning normal life to Egypt."

"Your message has arrived, your demands became known," Etman said Wednesday morning. The television station then broadcast a printed message that read: "The armed forces call on the protesters to go home for the sake of bringing back stability."

But large crowds continued to gather in downtown's vast Tahrir Square, and--despite a surge of support for Mubarak at several counter-demonstrations--it seemed unlikely that the army's message would prompt the anti-Mubarak masses to disband.

Pro- and anti-government supporters clash in Cairo

By HADEEL AL-SHALCHI and SARAH EL DEEB, Associated Press Hadeel Al-shalchi And Sarah El Deeb, Associated Press – 1 min ago

CAIRO – Several thousand supporters of President Hosni Mubarak, including some riding horses and camels and wielding whips, attacked anti-government protesters Wednesday as Egypt's upheaval took a dangerous new turn. In chaotic scenes, the two sides pelted each other with stones, and protesters dragged attackers off their horses.

The turmoil was the first significant violence between supporters of the two camps in more than a week of anti-government protests. It erupted after Mubarak went on national television the night before and rejected demands he step down immediately and said he would serve out the remaining seven months of his term.

Wednesday morning, a military spokesman appeared on state TV Wednesday and asked the protesters to disperse so life in Egypt could get back to normal. The announement could mark a major turn in the attitude of the army, which for the past two days has allowed protests to swell, reaching their largest size yet on Tuesday when a quarter-million peace packed into Cairo's central Tahrir Square.

--------------------------------------------------------

It does look like things are turning the other way for the moment, as if the Egyptian military accepts Mubarak's pledge not to seek re-election, though the demonstrators are not quite ready to accept that (major understatement).

I say, "look like".

Cairo, Egypt (CNN) -- A dramatic and potentially deadly situation unfolded Wednesday at the epicenter of Cairo's demonstrations as pro- and anti-government forces clashed with one another.

People hurled rocks and beat each other in the mayhem that erupted as police were nowhere to be seen and the army did little. Blood streamed down the faces of some protesters who were carried away from the square. Others climbed atop army tanks, waving flags and chanting loudly.

Emotions and the potential for deadly confrontations soared in Tahrir Square after Egyptians rallying for President Hosni Mubarak broke through a barricade separating them earlier from anti-government protesters who have been amassing for nine days in the downtown plaza.

There are also a lot of similarities between the emperors of China and British and French royalty... genes aside, I think they took their cues from other dictators (grooms of the stool and such), and incorporated them. I wonder if anyone has done a study of this? They all had at least one major common belief: that they were/are Gods.

Hey look at CNN and Al-Jazeera praying for bloodshed. Look how they want their civil massacres. Look how they are 100% absent in Adghanistan and Iraq! Look how they both helped forment anger and civil strife all over post 9/11 clash of nations run from Bilderberg private meetings. And all of the Newsweek/Time/NPR/Rolling Stones news reporters are doing everything in their power to provoke more and more conflict. This is foreign influence on a sovereign nation who never attacked us and was supposedly a good standing member of the UN.

But, if Bilderberg/RAND decides to starve the people and then have them attack each other like rats in a cage...CNN and Al-Jazeera is there on the scene to sell tickets to the human pit bull matches. CNN and Al-Jazeera are not telling the true story. Google's top executive in the Middle East preached martyrdom to the starving people. This is a manipulated and staged event with the cannon fodder in the middle goated by the CIA founded Muslim Brotherhood and Kissinger's Revolution in Military Affairs. This is a test for the US. This is the only way they can remove the constitution and the globalist pigs (who make Mubarak look like Gandhi) are salivating and frothing at the mouth.

YOU ARE WATCHING THEATER...TRAGIC THEATER...STAGED LIKE 9/11 WITH REAL MASSACRES...BUT BEING PRODUCED BY GOEBBLES WANNABES AND INVOLVING FULL SPECTRUM DOMINANCE SENSE AND RESPONSE SYSTEMS BY RAYTHEON, BAE SYSTEMS, LOCKHEED, DYNCORP, ETC. THIS IS THE NEW BREAD AND CIRCUS COLLESIUM OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER! LIVE, IN COLOR, AND SPONSORED BY DORITOS AND PAXIL.

US recruiting young cyber warriors
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/02/recruiting-young-cyber-warriors/
By Agence France-Presse
Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 -- 8:23 am

WASHINGTON – The United States is looking for the next generation of cyber warriors. The US Cyber Challenge Cyber Foundations competition, kicked off this week by the nonprofit Center for Internet Security, is out to find 10,000 students with the potential to become "top guns in cybersecurity." "The need to find creative solutions to protecting our information systems and digital infrastructure has never been greater," said center chief executive William Pelgrin. "The Cyber Foundations competition will help us tap into the tremendous talent across our nation's schools to identify those with a passion for security and a desire to put their skills to good use," he continued. The competition consists of a series of timed quizzes to test high school students in computer science categories considered key to protecting networks and systems. Top-scoring students will get status, prizes, and introductions to government or industry leaders. The Cyber Challenge program is design to nurture students with advanced education and exercises and connect them with colleges or employers. Students have until February 18 to register, with details available online at uscybersecuritychallenge.org. "In order to address the ever-increasing cyber security challenges facing our interconnected society, we must focus on the next generation of Americans to make sure they have the skills necessary to defend our country," said US Senator Thomas Carper, who chairs the Senate Homeland Security Subcommittee. "We must act now to develop a competent workforce that can support the needs of securing our cyber networks, which is quickly becoming a national priority," added Rhode Island Congressman Jim Langevin in a statement of support for the venture.

EXACTLY! Anyone else smell total horseshit in Al-Jazeera acting like some protectorate of Arab democracies?

Hey look at Brookings Institute (Globalist Pig offshoot of the CFR) setting up propaganda base camp in Qatar...

In 2007 the American Brookings Institution announced that it was opening the Brookings Doha Center to undertake research and programming on the socio-economic and geo-political issues facing the region.

Programming?

Wow!

Now I may be right or wrong but I have the feeling the Obammys and Hillerys have a huge part to play in what's happeningin Cairo at this very moment. They also are "Al-Jazeerans" in disguise. All is manipulated from a distance and we know in which direction we need to look.

Clashes Erupt in Cairo Between President’s Allies and Foes
By ANTHONY SHADID, DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK and KAREEM FAHIM
Published: February 2, 2011

CAIRO — Thousands of demonstrators for and against President Hosni Mubarak, some on horses and camels, fought running battles in and around Cairo’s Tahrir Square on Wednesday, despite a call from Egypt’s powerful military for the president’s opponents to “restore normal life.”

The pro-government supporters had arrived in their thousands, but were outnumbered by Mr. Mubarak’s opponents.

Their confrontations, which were descending into rock-throwing clashes, injected a new and perilous element into the eight-day standoff between anti-government protesters and Mr. Mubarak, hours after he offered to step down in September and President Obama urged a faster transition. The fighting was the first since the antigovernment protesters laid claim to Tahrir Square days ago as they pursued their campaign for Mr. Mubarak’s ouster.

I would imagine so.  I would think there would have been guns out there by now.  It seems these coups happen in gunless countries the most.  By design.

Yep, it's a recipe.

Right on!!!

Now I may be right or wrong but I have the feeling the Obammys and Hillerys have a huge part to play in what's happeningin Cairo at this very moment. They also are "Al-Jazeerans" in disguise. All is manipulated from a distance and we know in which direction we need to look.

Hillary and McCain said on the "Too Much" Candy Crowley Show on Sunday that Mubarak would be in power until the elections  late this summer and then the Egyptian people can make up their minds whether they want to keep him.  THESE NWO SCUM HIDE BEHIND THE FACADE THAT ELECTIONS WORK.  HA HA.  This is so staged and rigged.

Quite clear. Dig had the right vision since the beginning of the protests last Tuesday.

Anderson Cooper and his crew have been attacked by supporters of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, according to CNN. CNN's Steve Brusk tweeted that "Anderson said he was punched 10 times in the head as pro-Mubarak mob surrounded him and his crew trying to cover demonstration."

A CNN update said that "no one was seriously hurt" in the attack.

Obama and Hillery are total puppets, this shit is now out of their hands and in the hands of RAND Corporation, Brookings, CFR, Bilderberg.

Cohen gate the instructions on how everyone needed to handle themselves and his instructions must be obeyed. Kissinger followed up to law the cloud of fear over the entire fricking staged event.

Looks like plan A of the IAEA McNamara cyberneticist Nobel cry baby failed and now the big boys are comming in to clean up the mess and salvage any plunder ripe for the taking (this includes IMF debt slavery, new trade agreements, etc.).

All the while CNN and Al-Jazeera is focused on the provoked mob scene while Brookings, RAND, CFR, Ford Foundation are carving up the industries like the scene from godfather II with the cake of cuba.
