Many police switching sides and joining protests In Cairo's main square thousands of anti-government protesters wielding rocks, glass and sticks chased hundreds of riot police away. Several police officers stripped off their uniforms and badges and joined demonstrators. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/28/egypt-protests-mubarak-army-curfewI hope to see video of this happening.

CNN has already shown live footage of the protestors and military hugging and shaking hands. Looks like the military is going to side with the Egyptian people.

That would send a serious message to the ruling class. Bring it on!

I am trying to understand why the protesters are cheering the Army and hating the police as they are both subservient to the Mubarak regime? There was a point where things calmed down between the police and the people, at which point the police pulled back. It appears the people came to the conclusion that it's better to pull the military and police on to their side and by the looks of things, honey ("we're one people") vs. vinegar (rocks & fire) is working.

I am trying to understand why the protesters are cheering the Army and hating the police as they are both subservient to the Mubarak regime? In many of these unstable countries that are ruled by tyrannts, there's usually some kind of split between the leader and the military or security forces. More than one leader has been overthrown by their own military.

We are all Khaled Said Rumours spread after police withdrew very quickly that the Egyptian museum (which has 1/3 of world’s monuments) was about to get robbed. All TV channels were talking about attempts to enter to steal the museum. Once the rumour was spread, thousands and thousands of Egyptians have now made human chains all around the museum to make sure NO one enters. I'm so PROUD of you Egyptians

ATHENS, Greece -- Greek authorities say an Egypt Air passenger jet has made an unscheduled landing in Athens after a note with a possible bomb threat was found aboard. Officials say all 251 passengers have been safely evacuated from the plane, which was flying from London's Gatwick Airport to Cairo. Police are checking the plane for explosives. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/01/28/egyptian-plane-makes-unscheduled-landing-athens/#ixzz1CMhA3rGI

Not very credible considering the source - some "guy" named Jim. (BBC News Tweet):
2042: Jim, from the US writes: "I have a friend in Dearborn, home to one of the largest Muslim communities in North America. I've been told police are on alert for possible rioting this evening and this weekend. Local TV stations in Detroit, US have summoned-in off-duty news staff for possible coverage of rioting there."

Why the f**k are the protesters cheering the f**king army on the god damned streets. This makes me so angry are they THAT stupid. This is absolute tyranny cutting off the internet and bringing in tanks. And if the U.S was really a democracy why isn't the president condemning this act. If this doesn't wake people up I don't know what will.

From what I've see/read the army has not attacked the protestors and are rolling do the streets with flags waving. It looks like they are with the people. The Army has not taken an official position and the more time goes by it looks like the government has collapsed.

I know... this is one I don't get... They fight and riot against the police and then they cheer the army? The theory is that the army hasn't decided who's side they're on yet. That's what makes this interesting. We could be witnessing a planned military coup in the making.

Yep it seems that the rich are leaving Egypt in droves with their private jets... Maybe there is worse things coming? Was this revolution all planned in advance? Were the rich warned in advance of what was to happen so they had everything ready to go and places ready to welcome them abroad?

Hey kids. This is a real revolution. The army and the people are beginning to pull on one string. This is classic. The army is mostly staffed by poor conscripts. Most of them don't get the perks that the police and security forces do. This is Bastille Day all over again.

What was said earlier in the thread makes good sense. Maybe the regime put fire to the building themselves to make sure that all compromising papers and documents are forever eliminated and gone. The same thing was done to the headquarters of a main bank in Paris in a corruption affair during the Mitterrand Presidency. Orders were given to set the whole place on fire when there was no one in the building. I have the feeling this is being done to put NWO billionaire puppet El Baradei into power.

Not any of my Egyptian friends over here were, they have all been smugly planning to move back there mostly of late, confident that things were really good (better that Detroit at least) over there. One guy I went to school with's wife has even already moved back there, as he's a successful former retail owner now a cab owner for whom the US/Canadian border has become a nightmare, since the Zionist's false flag. (I'm a "baptized" Italian/Yank-German/Canuck - in more ways than religious - lol) And yes a soldier is far more likely to protect people than are fat-cat cops with fat paychecks, benefits, perks and pensions to protect

Thousands protest in JordanProtesters gather across the country, demanding the prime minister step down.Last Modified: 28 Jan 2011 14:36 GMT Thousands of people in Jordan have taken to the streets in protests, demanding the country's prime minister step down, and the government curb rising prices, inflation and unemployment. In the third consecutive Friday of protests, about 3,500 opposition activists from Jordan's main Islamist opposition group, trade unions and leftist organisations gathered in the capital, waving colourful banners reading: "Send the corrupt guys to court". The crowd denounced Samir Rifai's, the prime minister, and his unpopular policies. Many shouted: "Rifai go away, prices are on fire and so are the Jordanians.'' Another 2,500 people also took to the streets in six other cities across the country after the noon prayers. Those protests also called for Rifai's ouster. Get this, he just stated when the U.S. installed these repressive regimes, their economy got worse, inflation increased and now the people are fed up! Sound familiar? Now if he could have just mentioned the IMF, Federal Reserve, etc is responsible for this.
