I assume Alex meant they we're a rock band, I wish he wouldn't hint about things like this, just keeps me guessing....

My guesses are:

Pearl Jam
Foo Fighters?

He said "it doesn't get any bigger than this" so I don't think Clutch, no offense to them.

Yeah he was playing "Behind blue eyes" right before he mentioned that.... I was thinking that too, but there are really only 2 surviving members left.

I hope it's Neil, I've always loved his music.  He did have a rant at 2010's Farm Aid in which he (going from memory) said something about the government trying to shut down family farmers, somewhere along the lines of what AJ's been talking about.

He basically said that it was a rock band and that they might not want to go on, and that he's going to be patient..... but he said "it doesn't get any bigger than this", which could mean just about anyone.

Coll another guitar member.  I just got a new acoustic and am having a blast messing with open d tunings on a couple of CSN tunes, Love the one you're with and Suite Judy Blue Eyes.  I found a couple of excellent vids on yutube and they are real easy to do in open D Grin

Check out my new geeetar. Grin          It sounds so sweeeeet and plays real nice.

If indeed "it doesn't get any bigger than this"

It could be Linkin Park (A longshot but my oh my how huge it would be).

Check out their song titles of their last album,
A Thousand Suns
1. The Requiem
2. The Radiance
3. Burning In The Skies
4. Empty Spaces
5. When They Come For Me
6. Robot Boy
7. Jornada Del Muerto
8. Waiting For The End
9. Blackout
10. Wretches And Kings
11. Wisdom, Justice, And Love
12. Iridescent
13. Fallout
14. The Catalyst
15. The Messenger

This album has been "recently released" but I feel has been underrated for its true story telling ability...

If you listen to this album in order and in entirety, it tells a story of fallout.
Linkin Park seems awake to me...

I hope it's not Linkin Park just because their music sucks, I mean they are big but why can't Alex get good musicians that like him?

Just heard Alex on today's show as he talked about Joe Perry .  This is real cool.  If Joe comes to the forum I wanted to give a shout out and say welcome,  I have been working on Aero riffs on and off for many years.  Tomorrow is Sat. and I think I will take some time to work on a few more now that I am reminded. Grin
Anyway, welcome Joe and anyone else reading, welcome to the infowar.  Toys in the Attic was my second rock album, yes I said album, the first was Deep Purples Machine Head. Grin

By the way, on the chance that Joe Perry is not yet a member here, perhaps Alex could give him a shout out and invite? Grin   Just an idea. heheheh

metallica lol... thats a joke right?

Linkin Park could be quite possible. Alex said they made a shout out to him and since they posted the internet censorship article and video on their site then it looks like that its them indeed.

I wouldnt say their music sucks... they have a few very good ones imho.

The Shadow of the Day music video shows police forces shooting on rioters and stuff, that was 2007 or so.

Hands Held High has some nice lyrics.

he specifically said Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Have_Guitar,_Will_Travel but that has been released already so, not sure who hes talking about right now; but it looks like Aerosmith is doing a new album so it could be them still
