APNewsBreak: More warning signs on day of shooting

(AP) – 3 hours ago

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Investigators on Tuesday revealed more disturbing details about the events leading up to the assassination attempt against U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, including a menacing handwritten note in the suspect's home with the words "Die, bitch."

And on the day of the shooting, a mumbling Jared Loughner ran into the desert near his home after his father asked him why he was removing a black bag from the trunk of a family car, sheriff's officials said. Loughner resurfaced later Saturday when authorities say he showed up at a grocery store in a taxi and carried out the rampage that injured 14 people and killed six, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl.

Investigators provided the new details to The Associated Press and said they're still searching for the bag. They suspect it could contain clues into Loughner's motives.

"The bag is very important to us," said Capt. Chris Nanos, head of the Pima County Sheriff's Department's criminal investigations division. "What was in that bag and is there any relevance?"

"What if he wrote a note that says, 'Hey, I'm going to go do these things and I know it's wrong but I'm still going to do them,'" Nanos said. "That'd be a pretty good piece of evidence."

Authorities previously said they found handwritten notes in Loughner's safe reading "I planned ahead," ''My assassination" and the name "Giffords." Pima County Chief Rick Kastigar and Nanos told the AP they also found notes with the words "Die, bitch", which they believe referenced Giffords, and "Die, cops."

All the writings were either in an envelope or on an actual form letter Giffords' office sent him in 2007 after he attended one of her political events, Nanos said.

For all of it, Loughner's parents, silent and holed up in their home since the shooting spree, apologized Tuesday.

"There are no words that can possibly express how we feel," Randy and Amy Loughner wrote in a statement handed to reporters waiting outside their house. "We wish that there were, so we could make you feel better. We don't understand why this happened.

"We care very deeply about the victims and their families. We are so very sorry for their loss."

The apparent target of the attack, Giffords, 40, was able to breathe on her own Tuesday at an intensive care unit here, another hopeful sign of her progress, doctors said.

Meanwhile, the Arizona city shattered by the rampage prepared for an evening memorial service and a visit from President Barack Obama on Wednesday.

In addition the new details about the hours before the shooting, interviews with those who knew Loughner or his family painted a picture of a young loner who did try to fit in.

Before everything fell apart, he went through the motions as many young men do nowadays: Living at home with his parents, working low-wage jobs at big brand stores and volunteering time doing things he liked.

None of it worked. His relationship with his parents was strained. He clashed with co-workers and police. And he couldn't follow the rules at an animal shelter where he spent some time.

One close high school friend who requested anonymity to avoid the publicity surrounding the case said he would wait outside 10 minutes for Jared to leave the house when they were going out.

When Jared would get into the car, he'd say that it took so long because his parents were hassling him.

The parents of another close friend recalled how Loughner's parents showed up at their doorstep in 2008 looking for their son, who had left home about a week before and broken off contact.

While the friend, Zach Osler, didn't want to talk with the AP, his parents Roxanne and George Osler IV did.

With the Loughners at their house, Zach Osler told them the name of the local hotel where their only child was staying, Zach's father said. Jared moved back in, he said.

After that, Osler's dad sometimes would see Mrs. Loughner at the local supermarket, though they didn't chat much. He recalled that every time he saw her she had at least one 30-pack of beer in her cart.

Loughner, now 22, would come over several times a week from 2007 to 2008, the Oslers said.

The boys listened to the heavy metal band Slipknot and progressive rockers The Mars Volta, studied the form of meditative movement called tai chi, and watched and discussed movies.

Loughner's favorites included little-known conspiracy theory documentaries such as "Zeitgeist" and "Loose Change" as well as bigger studio productions with cult followings and themes of brainwashing, science fiction and altered states of consciousness, including "Donnie Darko" and "A Scanner Darkly."

Even in small talk, he struck the Oslers as unusual.

"He always said, 'Hi, Mrs. Osler. How are you today?' When he left he made a point of coming over and saying, 'Thank you for having me over,'" said Roxanne Osler, noting that was not typical for Zach's friends. "Jared struck me as a young man who craved attention and acceptance."

Once he shared with the Oslers a short story he had written about a reporter meeting an angel during the apocalypse.

George Osler IV read it, thought it was well written, but couldn't identify the point.

"He seemed like he was kind of offended that I didn't get the message," George Osler said.

Meanwhile, the unfailingly polite kid they knew was getting into trouble.

Loughner was arrested in October 2008 on a vandalism charge near Tucson after admitting that he vandalized a road sign with a magic marker, scrawling the letters "C'' and "X'' in a reference to what he said was Christianity.

The case was ultimately dismissed after he paid a $500 fine and completed a diversion program.

Even when Loughner tried to do good, it didn't work out.

A year ago, he volunteered walking adoptable dogs at the county animal shelter, said Kim Janes, manager of the Pima Animal Care Center. He liked dogs; neighbors remember him as the kid they would see walking his own.

At the shelter, staff became concerned: He was allowing dogs to play in an area that was being disinfected after one had contracted a potentially deadly disease, the parvovirus.

"He didn't think the disease was that threatening and when we tried to explain how dangerous some of the diseases are. He didn't get it," Janes said.

He wouldn't agree to keep dogs from the restricted area, and was asked to come back when he would. He never returned.

Loughner also jumped from paid job to job because he couldn't get along with co-workers, according to the close high school friend who requested anonymity. Employers included a Quiznos sandwich shop and Banana Republic, the friend said.

On his application at the animal shelter, he listed customer service work at Eddie Bauer.

Loughner grew up on an unremarkable Tucson block of low-slung homes with palm trees and cactus gardens out front. Fittingly, it's called Soledad Avenue — Spanish for solitude.

Solitude found Loughner, even when he tried to escape it. He had buddies but always fell out of touch, typically severing the friendship with a text message. Zach Osler was one such friend.

Loughner's father moved into the house as a bachelor, and eventually got married, longtime next-door neighbor George Gayan said. Property records show Randy Loughner has lived there since 1977.

Gayan said he and Randy Loughner had "differences of opinion but nothing where it was radical or violent." He declined to provide specifics. "As time went on, they indicated they wanted privacy," Gayan said.

Unlike other homes on the block, the Loughners' is obscured by plants. It was assessed in 2010 at $137,842.

Randy Loughner apparently has not worked for years — at least outside his home. He did fix up cars. Gayan said he had three "show cars" and two of Jared Loughner's friends said he bought a junker 1969 orange Chevrolet Nova and made it pristine.

Amy Loughner got a job with the county parks and recreation department just before Jared was born, and since at least 2002 has been the supervisor for Roy P. Drachman Agua Caliente Park on the outskirts of the city. She earns $25.70 an hour, according to Gwyn Hatcher, Pima County's human resources director.

"She's worked hard, done a good job of keeping it looking good," said Charles Ford, a former Tucson City Council member who is a board member of Friends of Agua Caliente Park.

Linda McKinley, 62, has lived down the street from the Loughner family for decades and said the parents could not be nicer — but that she had misgivings about Jared as he got older.

"As a parent, my heart aches for them," she said.

She added that when she was outside watering her plants she would see Jared riding down the street on his bike, often talking to himself or yelling out randomly to no one.

Once he yelled to some children on the street: "I'm coming to get you!" McKinley said.

What's troubling is that the AP posts so much information on his parents.

The mother's salary, where she lives, where she works, what her house is worth, what cars they drive, what their son's favorite music and movies are.

This is BIG BROTHER BULLS**T!

also - did you catch the part about how he liked to greet people, and say thank you to their parents as he was leaving. Creepy! can you imagine any male being polite. What is the ulterior motive of someone who acts like that.

I'm sure Loughner is just a harbinger of things to come.

More of these CIA mind-controlled stools will be connected to "Loose Change", "Zeitgeist", and, probably more sooner than later, Alex Jones documentaries.

Pretty soon the bio will include anything and everything so they can get everyone looking at each other askance. But that's not paranoia. It's only paranoia to be suspicious of large organizations and government.

Is Loughner Jewish himself? Is that why the ADL is backing off on the race / religion card?

Here is the photo taken yesterday. This guy is a complete lunatic -

He must have shaved off all his hair and eyebrows shortly before carrying out his mission. Still not sure if he is a mind control victim, schizophrenic maniac or a combination of the two.

Well, it is a pretty odd photo, although its hard to tell what the guy is like from a snapshot.  To me, he appears to be about to burst into laughter and I wondered what the joke was.  Was he thinking something was funny, perhaps?

Jewish Loughner and Giffords Shared Same Synagogue
Wednesday, 12 January 2011 7:01

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The media picks and chooses what it tells us, and if there is anything that doesn't fit into their anti-Right agenda, the facts will not be mentioned.

Leftist websites, after the Tucson shooting that killed six, and left Congresswoman Giffords in critical condition, took quick action to blame conservatives for the tragedy. Sites like Mediaite, and The Huffington Post, based on Jared Loughner's chosen reading of Mein Kampf, went so far as to claim that Jared Loughner is anti-Semitic. What a bonus, they must've thought, since they erroneously believe Nazism to be on the far right.

So why didn't they report that Loughner's mother is Jewish? Why would a half jew be anti-semitic?

Even more interesting is the news that Jared Lee Loughner's mother, Amy Loughner, is a member of the same Reform synagogue as Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. This would mean that Amy's son, Jared Loughner, the shooter who put a bullet through the skull of Congresswoman Giffords, is also a member of the same synagogue as his shooting victim. Yet, the Rabbi said nothing about this interesting coincidence?

In addition to that little tidbit, Jared Loughner's friend, Bryce Tierney, not only received a "farewell" voice message the night before the shootings, but Bryce confirmed that his friend is Jewish, and that Jared Loughner put Mein Kampf down as his "favorite reading" to irritate his Jewish mother, Amy.

Such news as that does not fit into what the media wishes us to believe, therefore, they decided not to report it. Instead, they decided to report that Loughner is some young white man, and that anti-Semitism was his motive.

Apparently, the first responders failed to reveal the truth. Political opportunity was all they cared about.

about Jared Loughtner's addiction/fascination to/with dreams and how one begins to MKULTRA themselves:

Physiologically, sleep states are measured by an EEG (electroencephalograph) connected to the scalp by surface electrodes. These electrodes measure brain activity, called waves. Sleep can be divided into two distinct catagories measured by brain wave activity. These stages are REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and NREM (non-rapid eye movement) sleep.

NREM sleep is divided into four stages with the sleeper entering deeper states of sleep with progressively larger and slower brain waves. Stage 1 is the transition between wakefulness and Stage 1 sleep. Brain wave activity moves from beta, wakefulness, to alpha. Stage 2 is light sleep. The body prepares for deep sleep by moving through theta waves to delta waves. Stages 3 and 4 are deep sleep stages characterized by delta waves with Stage 4 being more intense.

In REM sleep, brain activity is hightened, resembling the awake state or Stage 1. The eyes, though closed, move back and forth, and muscle paralysis is present, perhaps as a means of keeping the dreamer safe. Heart rate and respiration increase. It is during REM states that dreams are most easily recalled. REM sleep is called "paradoxical" sleep because it incorporates both wakefulness and sleep.

In sleep experiments, subjects are awakened at different stages of sleep and asked to report dreams. While dreaming is reported in NREM sleep, by far the majority of dreams are reported during REM states. Some physiological theorists have stressed the importance of the adaptive function of dreams. Sites in the brain that are activated during dreams lead researchers to believe that the brain is rehersing events, mastering situations, or adapting to novel stimuli.
http://www.wisegeek.com/contest/what-are-dreams.htm

Low-frequency theta waves are found in brain measurements of children and largely disappear in adulthood; their specific purpose is yet unknown.  Evidence suggests that many psychopaths have excessive theta waves when they are awake.

The longer one stays in a state of anxiety or depression, the more difficult it is to reach the rejuvenating deep sleep of delta waves.  Insted one gets stuck in a kind of theta brainwave loop, where far too many theta waves are present even after sleep.  One will bounce in and out of alpha and beta but never leave theta for long, whether in or out of sleep - becoming increasingly narcisistic and violent in their behavioral tendencies - and highly suggestable and reactionary.

Jared Loughner's hate came before the Tea Party
By Marc Thiessen

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2011/01/jared_loughners_hate_came_befo.html

Today's Washington Post reports:

[T]wo law enforcement sources said that FBI agents had found a 2007 letter from Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) to the shooting suspect, with the words "Die, bitch" and "Die, cops" scrawled on it. The letter, which thanked [Jared] Loughner for attending an event of hers, was found in a safe in his Tuscon home, the sources said.

In 2007, there was no Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin was the obscure, recently elected governor of Alaska. If anything, the overhead heated political rhetoric at the time was coming from the left and was directed largely at President George W. Bush. It is time for all those whose reflexive reaction was to capitalize on this tragedy by blaming their political opponents (eg. the New York Times editorial page, the Daily Kos and Paul Krugman) to start issuing some apologies. They can start with Sarah Palin.

One of the Men Who Subdued Loughner Had a Gun, and He Was Ready to Use It

Gabrielle Giffords and the perils of guns: How an armed hero nearly shot the wrong man.
By William Saletan

...
The new poster boy for this agenda is Joe Zamudio, a hero in the Tucson incident. Zamudio was in a nearby drug store when the shooting began, and he was armed. He ran to the scene and helped subdue the killer. Television interviewers are celebrating his courage, and pro-gun blogs are touting his equipment. "Bystander Says Carrying Gun Prompted Him to Help," says the headline in the Wall Street Journal
...

But before we embrace Zamudio's brave intervention as proof of the value of being armed, let's hear the whole story. "I came out of that store, I clicked the safety off, and I was ready," he explained on Fox and Friends. "I had my hand on my gun. I had it in my jacket pocket here. And I came around the corner like this." Zamudio demonstrated how his shooting hand was wrapped around the weapon, poised to draw and fire. As he rounded the corner, he saw a man holding a gun. "And that's who I at first thought was the shooter," Zamudio recalled. "I told him to 'Drop it, drop it!' "

But the man with the gun wasn't the shooter. He had wrested the gun away from the shooter. "Had you shot that guy, it would have been a big, fat mess," the interviewer pointed out.
...

The Arizona Daily Star, based on its interview with Zamudio, adds two details to the story. First, upon seeing the man with the gun, Zamudio "grabbed his arm and shoved him into a wall" before realizing he wasn't the shooter. And second, one reason why Zamudio didn't pull out his own weapon was that "he didn't want to be confused as a second gunman."

although its hard to tell what the guy is like from a snapshot.

The guy shaved off all his hair including his eyebrows and is smiling from ear to ear after killing 6 innocent people including a 6 year old child and gravely wounding a congresswoman. Yeah, I think it is safe to say that he had gone "round the bend."

Joseph Zamudio, one of those four people, describes the scene and how he was carrying a gun, and was ready to use it…

Well, there you go even when an armed civilian shows restraint and bravery and helps subdue the shooter the press focus on the "big, fat mess" that never happened.  ::)

You left out one very important tidbit, a person with a gun, who used RESTRAINT. He also used proper target acquisition, and took enough time to voice a warning. He exercised enough discretion that he did not shoot the wrong man. Meanwhile, the media would have you beleive that every man or woman with a gun will shoot first and ask questions later.
The resistance starts here. Unfortunately, the entire thing is moving beyond the intellectual infowar. I vow I will not make an overt rush at violent authority, until authority makes it's violent rush at me and you. I will not falter, I will not die in this course. For that is how they win.

That's just a little joke, but it's pretty much the format of the alleged Loughner rants.
Does anyone else suspect these rants may have been created by a bot?

A caller to the show today pointed out how all of Loughner's YouTube videos were done strictly in the print format, which raises the question of whether someone else could have made the vids and posted them on his YouTube site. As far as we now know, it is even possible that Loughner's entire YouTube site was created by someone else. Who knows?

In linguistics, gerund (abbreviated ger) is a term used to refer to various non-finite verb forms in various languages:

    * As applied to English, it refers to the usage of a verb (in its -ing form) and as a noun (for example, the verb "learning" in the sentence "Learning is an easy process for some")

MICROWAVE MIND CONTROL:
MODERN TORTURE AND CONTROL MECHANISMS ELIMINATING HUMAN RIGHTS AND PRIVACY

by Dr. Rauni Leena Kilde, MD

[excerpt]

"ELF/ULF CAN be carried on radio and ultrasound carrier signals, however,
and are effective in things like setting up a target to be more receptive
to hypnosis, force a target to be unable to sleep, and force a target
to fall asleep daytime.  This is like the reverse process of reading
the brain's natural ELF/ULF electrical activity using biofeedback."

Several quotes from Loughner's YouTube Videos

If I'm the mind controller  then I control the belief and religion.

- Action
- Thought
- Location
- Food

All humans are in need of sleep
Jared Loughner is a human
Hence,  Jared Loughner is in need of sleep
If I define sleepwalking then sleepwalking is the act or state of walking, eating or performing other motor acts while asleep of which one is unaware upon awakening...
I'm a sleepwalker who turns off the alarm clock

All of this sounds uncannily like what you would think to be the meanderings of a mind control subject. He was allegedly under the influence of powerful hallucinogenic drug "Salvia" but, to me at least, this stuff sounds like something emanating from the dissociated mind of a programmed assassin. It's almost like someone was programming certain ideas and directives into his mind, kind of like how a computer is programmed to perform certain tasks and read certain kinds of encrypted code. To the lay person, the terms and codes are incomprehensible, but to the programmer and programee, if I may use such a term, it has it's own internal meaning.

Just my take on it. Of course, I could be wrong.

'Rebooting' brain could ease ringing in ears
www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/health/view/1104360/1/.html
Jan 12 02:46 PM US/Eastern

Scientists have found a way to ease chronic ringing in the ears, known as tinnitus, by stimulating a neck nerve and playing sounds to reboot the brain, according to research published Wednesday.  There is currently no cure for tinnitus, which can range from annoying to debilitating and affects as many as 23 million adults in the United States, including one in 10 seniors and 40 percent of military veterans.  For Gloria Chepko, 66, who has suffered from tinnitus since she was four years old, the sound she describes as "like crickets... but also bell-like," gets worse when she is tired.  "It's awful," she said. "Sometimes it is very loud, and it will get loud if I am under stress or if I have been going for a very long time and I am fatigued," she said.  "If my mind is tired and I sit down I will only hear this sound."  For some people, such as military veterans who are left with hearing damage after exposure to loud blasts and gunfire, the noise -- which could also sound like roaring, whooshing or clicking -- interferes with their ability to lead a normal life.  The US Veterans Administration spends one billion dollars per year on disability payments related to tinnitus, the most common service-related ailment in soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, industry experts say.  Scientists believe the disorder is caused by hearing loss or nerve damage, to which the brain tries but fails to adjust.  "Brain changes in response to nerve damage or cochlear trauma cause irregular neural activity believed to be responsible for many types of chronic pain and tinnitus," said Michael Kilgard of the University of Texas, co-author of the study in the journal Nature.  "We believe the part of the brain that processes sounds -- the auditory cortex -- delegates too many neurons to some frequencies, and things begin to go awry," he said.  To fix that, researchers used rats to test a theory that they could reset the brain by retraining it so that errant neurons return to their normal state.

In rats with tinnitus, they electrically stimulated the vagus nerve, which runs from the head through the neck to the abdomen, in combination with playing a certain high-pitched tone.  When stimulated, the nerve can encourage changes in the brain by releasing chemicals such as acetylcholine and norepinephrine that act as neurotransmitters.  Rats that underwent the pairing of noise and stimulation experienced a halt to the ringing sounds for up to three and a half months, while control rats that received just noise or just stimulation did not.  An examination of neural responses in the auditory cortexes showed normal levels in the rats who were treated with the combination of stimulation and sound, indicating the tinnitus had disappeared.  The treatment "not only reorganized the neurons to respond to their original frequencies, but it also made the brain responses sharper," the study said.

"The key is that, unlike previous treatments, we're not masking the tinnitus, we're not hiding the tinnitus," said Kilgard.  "We are returning the brain from a state where it generates tinnitus to a state that does not generate tinnitus. We are eliminating the source of the tinnitus."  Clinical trials are expected to begin on humans in the coming months, with the first trials starting in Europe, according to lead study author Navzer Engineer.  The process of vagus nerve stimulation, known as VNS, is already being used in the treatment of around 50,000 people with epilepsy or depression, the study said.  "This minimally invasive method of generating neural plasticity allows us to precisely manipulate brain circuits, which cannot be achieved with drugs," said Engineer.  "Pairing sounds with VNS provides that precision by rewiring damaged circuits and reversing the abnormal activity that generates the phantom sound."
All eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. The general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately

If they are just releasing this to the public, then you know they are already much farther advanced in this stuff. Whatever they let out to the general public has already been superseded by much more sophisticated technology which remains classified. I am not saying this is definitely what happened with this Loughner character, but the whole thing stinks to high heaven, that much is for certain.
