Those are paperbacks on Amazon.  I think Alex is selling the hardcover - and they're signed by both the author and Alex.

Her book is too big for a busy person to read.

I suggest reading John Taylor Gatto's, "Weapons of Mass Instruction: A Schoolteacher's Journey Through the Dark World of Compulsory Schooling" instead.

He'll give you a good overview of why the education system can't be fixed in 240 pages!

Alex sold 800 paperback copies for around $40 or so (the LAST bunch that Charlotte had, btw) ... didn't you hear him pushing it for like a week?  He also said repeatedly that he was holding back on the few hardbacks he had because they are autographed and would be much more expensive.

Sad I wasnt paying attention. Does Charlotte plan on doing another reprint or are her books out of print completely?

As far as what's been said, this book is out of print.

The PDF is available, though, and one has to wonder if it would be unethical to charge for private printing... just enough to cover the cost of printing, binding, and delivery.  It's over 700 pages, so there's no way anyone could do it for free.

I'm under the impression that Charlotte is getting out of the book selling business.  Last year she listed the remaining books she had at deep discounts and even signed the copies for anyone wanting one.  Then I noticed Alex was selling them.  When I called her office to order a book last year, I was surprised that she answered the phone.  I got me a nice autographed hard cover.  It is a very large book chuck full of information and references.  I tried to read it cover to cover, but found that it is a better reference book.  I agree with blackwater....John Taylor Gatto's books are a better read cover to cover.  This is not to put down Charlotte's book at all.  Her work is a better reference book, but John Gatto's is an easier read.  BTW, I did not read JTG's  "Weapons of Mass Instruction", I read "The Underground History of American Education"...a fine read.  It blew me away.

Charlotte and John are both big time patriots in my eyes.

How amazing is it that we actually let this happen? Learn to say "No", and "f**k You."

Centralized education leads to one thing: tyranny!

If there's a deliberate dumbing down going on well then someone's in charge!

And they are not done yet.  In my area, some school districts are talking about consolidating services and perhaps even merging districts in order to survive the "recession".  I really feel bad for the younger generation.  They know not what is in store for them.
