Blanks can also be cotton wads which would leave marks and disrupt papers. There dose not seem to be a lot of fragmenting from shooting into the concrete floor just a black mark? Shooting the floor would naturally have to have an escape vector for the mass that did not fragment, where did it go?

There’s something wrong with you if you want to actually see Duke shooting himself.  Never mind that there are much worse things to see in your local video store.

Clay’s psychotic behavior was caused by:

*   The lousy economy. OK.
*   People playing video games, which, in turn, affects their social skills.  Close.
*   Schools not teaching people how to embrace diversity.  Hmm...

“With all of that, it's easy to think these are scary times, but there are good people out there. You just have to look for them, and practice being one of them.
Especially at Christmas! “

Both would make excellent candidates to write for this fine, respectable periodical with guaranteed upward mobility into MSM positions.

It is really amazing how in less than 24 hours there is 100% innuendo and the claims that since there are holes, he fired real bullets. Actually, if he fired real bullets...THERE WOULD BE REAL BULLETS AT THE CRIME SCENE! In a murder investigation, every single projectile must be accounted for, every fragment, every trajectory angle, every position, every movement, every eyewitness statement must corrolate with every chain of events, powder burns, body movements, information about every weapon used, who were they registered to, where did they come from, where did the bullets come from, what caliber, did every bullet match up with every gun in forensic analysis, all of the video must also corrolate to every chain of events, all discussions are recorded, logged, transcribed, etc.

We are being told..."look...hole in wall...bullet not blank...go away"

WTF kind of crime scene investigation is this shit?

10 minutes of a 25 year old Miami Vice episode has more credible investigative analysis...AND THAT INCLUDES 5 OF THOSE 10 MINUTES HAVING THE CAMERAS FOCUSED ON CROCKETT'S HAIR WAVING WHILE HE IS DOING SLALOM MANEUVERS ON A SPEEDBOAT!

About a week ago, Clay Duke joined Facebook. Over the past several days, he added photo stills from the movie and graphic novel "V for Vendetta," a nihilistic account of a masked man who fights against a totalitarian government. The movie's predominant symbol — a red "V" inside of a circle — was posted several times on Duke's page.  He also quoted the final passage from Percy Shelley's "Masque of Anarchy": "Rise like lions after slumber/In unvanquishable number/Shake your chains to earth, like dew/Which in sleep had fall'n on you/Ye are many-they are few."  Duke had no Facebook friends... Duke had written something of a suicide note in his "About Me" section...

One week old Facebook page with all the information used in Table Top Exercise and Active Shooter Drills. He did not use Facebook to communicate with anyone, not one friend. He (or, more likely, the logistics operational staff for this false flag) used it to leave a trail of predictable associations specific to IBM/RAND profiling algorithms (which are the most treasonous sytems of discrimination and dehumanization on the planet)...another in a long line of extraordinary coincidences.

It looks like his facebook page was taken down.

Wait, so all of the supposed evidence that made him some kind of an anti-elite nut case requiring CACI serial killers and psychopaths to push for new anti-constitutional legislation MIGHT HAVE BEEN PART OF THE ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILL. SO THE ENTIRE "CYBER EVIDENCE" LIKELY HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH HIS STATE OF MIND NOR DID IT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM AT ALL?

C'mon...a 56 year old dude jumps on the Facebook and starts posting a bunch of alternative websites, a V for Vendetta images, the entire novel which he probably has never read, other stage props, some random speeches that seem to have nothing to do with his personality by any of the conflicting accounts, never communicates with one person on Facebook, and then engages in what all likelihood seems to be a complete re-enactment of every active shooter drill for the past 10 years.

Are they even trying to make this look like anything other than a drill?

No doubt this was a drill, I'm curious about these ROTC kids that had rifles and Clay asked them if they were real or if they were loaded. It sounds like they were outside prior to him going inside.

God help us out of this total and complete insanity...

This is one of thousands of active shooter tabletop exercise scenarios publicly available to all from the Nazi/Stasi DHS nut cases. They start off by justifying this insane BS with some false flag shootings. Then they depict a scenario where only CACI/Kroll/Mossad/MI6/CIA could possibly pull off. They then log all of the hundreds of pages of details into a portal system controlled by the Nazi/Stasi offshore bankster controlled DHS. Then the black ops can use the data for their false flags or just run the false flag on the exact time of the drills. This one is just a table top drill, others are live drills.

So what does the government do? Mandate literally thousands of these f-ing drills which expose the best way for special operations and possibly foreign soldiers to use the smallest forces to takeover government institutions including schools, hospitals, etc. These drills are for risk management systems for an invading force. They are completely ridiculous to have scenarios like the ones being done when you look at the last 100 years of actual risks!

 Security notifies site emergency coordinator
 External gates opened
 Main gate house appointed the initial staging area for public safety responders
8:02 AM
8:03 AM
8:05 AM

Issues So Far
 Are employees trained for this type of emergency?
 Does your site emergency plan include active shooter response?
 How do you control access to the site?
 Do you have the security technology to assist law enforcement in locating the victims and shooter?
 Do employees shelter in place or evacuate?
 Should you deactivate card readers (i.e. no access)?
 How do you manage visitors and contractors that are on site?
 Are critical phone calls getting through to Security?
 How do you prevent media and others from entering the site?

8:07 AM
 Police and first responders arrive
 Security officer will direct initial responding police to the location of the incident
 Police request facility maps
 Security officer will be initial liaison with police
 PA announcement is made requesting employees refrain from calling Security unless they have information regarding the emergency
 Local news media arrives on site

8:07 AM ISSUES
 How do you handle incoming emergency response personnel?
 Where are they staged?
 Are there any safety concerns (entering process areas)?
 How do you get them access to buildings?
 What procedures are in place to provide site and building maps?
 Should additional announcements be made?
 Announce when the police arrived
 Remind people to stay in safe location
 Do you have procedures to manage the news media when they arrive?

Tactical Phase

8:08 AM
 Police Response
 Form a contact team
 Search for the shooter
 Establish incident command post to direct responding personnel
 Secure and take charge of the facility
 If necessary, evacuate the community until situation is contained

8:08 AM ISSUES
 How do you facilitate a response when your decision makers are not available?
 If doors are locked, how do the police enter buildings?
 Are there adequate police in the area to handle the situation and establish a secure perimeter?

8:10 AM
 Additional gun shots can be heard coming from somewhere in the facility
 Employees are seen fleeing the building

8:10 AM ISSUES
 Is there a location to stage people who are exiting the building?
 Is there a way to account for your employees (i.e. who reported for work that day versus who is at a staging area)?
 If we move people to a staging area, will they be in harm’s way?
 How do you keep media out of the plant and away from staging areas?

8:12 AM
 Reports indicate that the shooter is heading towards the Control Room
 Control Room Operators report hearing gunshots

8:12 AM ISSUES
 What access control is or should be in place?
 Can the operators secure the control room?
 What are your procedures for safely securing any operations which include hazardous materials?
 Would site emergency procedures have already dictated process shutdown?
 What other life safety issues should be considered?

8:15 AM
 Police notify Security at front gate that perpetrator has been killed at the entrance of the Control Room
 Police continue to conduct a building-by-building search

8:15 AM ISSUES
 Are there additional perpetrators?
 How is the site emergency management team activated and where are they staged?

Lessons Learned?

Key Points
 Employees
 Review response protocols prior to an incident and actively participate in emergency response training. There will likely be no time to refer to written materials and protocols during an incident.
 Learn how to recognize and report potential workplace violence and suspicious behavior.
 Employers
 Develop anti-workplace-violence policies and procedures and regularly communicate them to employees through training and evaluation.
 Set an environment for confidential employee information sharing.
 Document incidents of conflict, threat, or harassment, even if minor.
 Don’t wait to investigate.
 Plan and manage layoffs, terminations, sensitive evaluations, etc.Page 25

How Do I Participate?
 DHS partners with State chemical industry councils – let them know you are interested!
 Tabletops tailored to meet the needs of each state or region

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Phase One
Introduction

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
June 2008
• Kevin is a 16 year old Sophomore at James Wood High School. Kevin is very bright and has earned good grades his entire life.
• Kevin has never been very good at sport activities, instead his interests lie in health care and for the past two years he has been a member of your Health Career Club.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
The Last Day of School
• The last day of the school year is arrives and the students can’t wait to get out of class including Kevin. Even though he loves his classes this is the summer his father promised to take him and his mother on a dream vacation.
• Kevin stops in to say goodbye to you before beginning his vacation.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
September 2008
• Kevin returns for his Junior year and there has been a visible change in his appearance and his attitude. Always a cooperative student he has become very argumentative.
• During one of the Career Health Club meetings he gets into a verbal altercation with another student. You break up the argument, but instead of apologizing for his behavior Kevin quits and storms out of the office.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Early October 2008
• You haven’t seen much of Kevin over the past few weeks and he hasn’t returned to your club meetings.
• One day at approximately 2:15 in the afternoon Kevin reports to your office with complaints of a head ache.
• You mention that you’ve missed him in your club meetings and his response is that he doesn’t care about that anymore. Over the next few weeks Kevin shows up more and more each time his complaints are more vague.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Mid October 2008
• Kevin shows up in your office this time you try to question him and he’s very reclusive. After several attempts to get him to talk he finally opens up. You learn that over the summer Kevin’s dad canceled the trip and that his parents separated. Kevin now lives with his mother and sees his father every other weekend.
• You also learn that Kevin has been tormented by the other students. This behavior has gone on for most of his life and he has never let it show. He is so upset and angry that he blurts out that wishes they would all die.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Break
• What if anything can you do at this point?
• Is there reason for an intervention?

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE

• Immediately after the loud bang an overhead announcement is made “Code Blue” your code for sheltering in place. The students in your office are scared some crying hysterically. Page 13

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
October 21, 2008
• At approximately 10:50 there are more popping sounds, you can hear screaming coming from the hallways. There is another loud bang and from the window in your office you can see people lying on the floor and smoke begins to fill the hallway.
• You can hear sirens and loud horns in the distance, they are getting closer and closer.Page 14

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Response
• The police have arrived at the school, they come to your office and escort the students inside your office to safety.
• The principal tells you they think the shooter is Kevin and wants you to pull any files you have on Kevin and turn them over to the police.

Break
• What do you tell them about Kevin?
• Do you release your records to the police?
• What type of assistance can you offer?

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
The Response
• The police send in a contact team, the team moves throughout the school looking for the shooter. While inside the team hears more gun fire and move towards the sound of shots. The team makes contact the shooter gun fire is exchanged and the shooter neutralized.
• Post incident:
– 35 wounded
– 9 dead including the shooter

Break
• What will the immediate effects be on faculty, student body?
• What type of support do you have in place for faculty, student body?Page 18

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Phase Four

• Parents have put their houses up for sale and transferred their children out of district.
• Faculty staff are beginning to look for work at other schools.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SENSITIVE
Break
• Support for long term effects on faculty, student body and residents?

NOTE: THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO HAS NEVER EXISTED IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!

ALSO, NOTHING IS GOING TO MAKE KEVIN MORE PSYCHO THEN THE RUNNING OF DRILLS BASED ON INSANE SCENARIOS WHICH SAY THAT BECAUSE KEVIN ACTS RUDE A FEW TIMES, HE IS ABOUT TE EXTERMINATE 9 OTHER PEOPLE INCLUDING HIMSELF AND WOUND 35 OTHERS! THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THAT ARE SPECIAL FALSE FLAG OPERATIVES!

Tabletop Exercise Scenarios

The tabletop exercise is a meeting to discuss a simulated emergency situation. Members of the campus emergency management team review and discuss the actions they would take in a particular emergency, testing their emergency operations plan in an informal, low-stress environment. Tabletop exercises are used to clarify roles and responsibilities and to identify additional campus mitigation and preparedness needs. They should result in actions plans for continued improvement of the campus emergency operations plan.

The scenarios below are provided to assist you in developing tabletop exercises for your campus. They provide basic data on specific emergencies and discussion questions regarding the developing emergency. The PowerPoint slides are set up so that you can customize them with local information and appropriate dates.

If you are new to development and implementation of tabletop exercises and would like additional help, please contact Dr. Robyn Ferguson at the Texas School Safety Center, Higher Education Safety & Security Initiative. Dr. Ferguson can help you plan and customize your exercise scenario. She is also available to facilitate your tabletop exercise. This service is provided free of charge to Texas colleges and universities. Dr. Ferguson is also available for presentations on preparedness issues in colleges and universities.

These scenarios have been compiled from a variety of sources. Special thanks go to Tim Green, Grayson County College DPS Director and Ron Willis, former chief of St. Edwards University PD, for their contributions.

The Role of IT in Campus Security and Emergency Management

Vulnerabilities on the campuses of our nations colleges and universities have come into sharp focus in recent years, dominating headlines with what seems like increasing frequency and greater consequence. In August 2008, campus leaders in safety, security, emergency management, and information technology met in Washington, D.C., to put emergency management firmly at the top of the agenda during an EDUCAUSE Summit on The Role of IT in Campus Security and Emergency Management. Brought together by a common purpose to explore proactive approaches to emergency management and a desire to learn about emerging technologies on the horizon, the group spent two days dissecting the state of emergency management at our nations colleges and universities and sharing resources from their own institutions. This white paper outlines the results of the initial summit and presents key findings from two days of group brainstorming and collaboration.

U North Florida Conducts Active Shooter Simulation
http://campustechnology.com/articles/2009/04/10/u-north-florida-conducts-active-shooter-simulation.aspx
By Dian Schaffhauser
04/10/09

The University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville was recently the site of a security exercise involving the simulated response to a shooter on campus. The crisis management and preparedness services division of James Lee Witt Associates joined university personnel and other private and public participants in conducting the "Secure Scholar" functional exercise.

The simulation, involving a total of 30 people, was first developed in a preliminary workshop and tabletop exercise forum in March. Holding the live exercise was one of a series of recommendations for enhanced emergency preparedness activities on Florida college campus offered by the Gubernatorial Task Force on Campus Security, convened by Charles Crist, Florida's governor.

"The exercise platform provided us with a unique opportunity to exercise the crisis management team's response in a controlled environment," said Jeff Durfee, director, IT security of the university. "Without the creativity of the exercise planning team, we could not have simulated the real world stress and crisis decision making adequately."

In order to achieve realism in this simulated response, this unique scenario and multi-media presentation unfolded through the lens of a student Web cam and other video media elements. The story video approach provided stark realism to other simulated events and was instrumental to meeting the exercise objectives.

"Participants noted the value of the series of emergency planning and training sessions they conducted in advance of the exercise," said Chip Patterson, director of disaster services at Coxwell Disaster Services and exercise director for the university's crisis management team. "The success of the exercise is primarily because the level of commitment and engagement of the [campus'] leadership and community response in exercise play."

The next stage of the process will be to capture lessons learned and best practices for future planning, training, and exercises.

Witt Associates provides crisis management consulting to educational institutions. Coxwell, a division of a construction and engineering firm, offers emergency management and homeland security services.

The purse used by Bay District School Board member Ginger Littleton in an attempt to disarm a gunman Tuesday has been cleaned out of personal possessions and will be auctioned on eBay.

Proceeds from the auction by WJHG-TV will go to the Salvage Santa project headed by Mike Jones, the school district’s security chief credited with saving the lives of the board members. Jones has spent countless hours rebuilding and repairing hundreds of bicycles for local children each year for the past 30 years.

It looked like he was not moving on the floor after the guard shot him 3 times. He just lay there on the floor. Unless he came back to life and the killed himself?

P.S. If you have ever seen someone shoot into the floor at a range see how fast their but meets the curb.

what got me is all the people walking in front of and behind the shooter, after he said "all you assholes get out of here". If it were me I would be keeping my distance from the guy with the gun! The people in the meeting were acting nonchalantly as if they were told go out this door at rehearsal, etc...

Also clay fell down kind of weird, three shots and he collapses. That only happens when you get a direct hit on a vital area. Did they hit the heart, brain stem, or head?

I won't speculate who killed him (it's completely possible he managed to bring the gun on himself while on the ground) but to say it was caps is completely ridiculous.  You can see the round lifting the papers on the desk and making a hole on the floor.

Keep in mind, it's a tiny round going into what looks like a carpeted floor.. not an artillery piece exploding in a field... you won't see massive debris flying into the air when the round hit the floor.

Blanks are not "blank" they have wood, paper, cotton, or plastic to help build up the pressure to cycle the slide. These are projectiles that have less mass and therefore less energy then normal rounds. They have enough energy to scatter papers and leave marks on the floor but probably would not penetrate clothing beyond 3 feet. Have you ever been to a shooting range? Look up Handgun blank ammo if you don't believe me. I'm just saying it is entirely possible they could still be blanks.

Also if you see the right video you can clearly see him being shot and then falling to the floor, no more movement after that period. when did he have time to shoot himself in the head? There was no other gunshot report after he fell either.

Florida School Board Meeting Shooting - Full WMBB Video - December 14, 2010
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQjQOlJvMzE&feature=watch_response

Right at the end of this video, which ends as Duke collapses onto the ground, the following message flashes very quickly.  You have to carefully pause the video to read it.

“The gunman apparently missed each person he fired on.  He later killed himself after being wounded by school board security.”

So, according to WMBB,  both the reported “shootout” and the reported “suicide” were edited out of any released footage.  Inconsistencies in media reporting abound.

I was also checking whether a blank would cycle a stock semi-auto pistol.  Consensus is split depending on the brand of ammo, pistol, and modifications of the pistol.  Media identification of Duke’s weapon is all over the map.  (cap gun, small caliber, 9mm, .45 auto)

We can rule out .45 or even .40 (actual round, at least) ... check out the second shot he fired at the floor, which looks to be an accidental discharge, where the recoil is extremely weak.  I've shot both these calibers with 3", 4" and 5" barrels, and the recoil control takes practice.  Being the "big guy" he was and all, perhaps containing the recoil during an intentional firing is expected (the first shot shows the recoil, then he intentionally raises the gun... perhaps the resulting discharge was unexpected?), but not with an AD... a .45 would have forced his arm to move a lot.

I haven't shot a 9mm, so I don't know how much recoil one would expect (for what looks to be a 4" barrel?), but with the weak recoil on the AD, I'm guessing small caliber or blank cartridges... which are available in all handgun calibers.

Well death by security guard after subscribing to "Media Matters" for too long, is still, technically "suicidal".

bwaaahahaha nice comic relief, but in all seriousness...hundreds of people are murdered by cops/security guards every year and they call it "suicide"

When you dig deeper, it is actually "suicide by cop" which is a euphemism for murder. This "cause of death" has risen exponentially in the past 20 years.

"Suicide by cop" means that if you resist a cop in any way (or he in any way thinks you are resisting even if you are not) and he executes you in cold blood then you wanted to die anyway so you actually committed suicide.

It is important to note that the entire diagnosed cause of death called "suicide by cop" is a complete lie. It is fabricated out of thin air and simply another example of neo-feudalism and the cybernetics agenda. In the future, if you deny a vaccine and an IBM sense and response autonomous assassination protocol is initiated, your "cause of death" will be "blue suicide" or "suicide by non compliance" or some other orwellian bullshit. Suicide by cop = arbeit macht frei for the future heirs to the future final solutions that the trilateral terrorists have been planning for decades.

Suicide by cop
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_by_cop

Suicide by cop is a suicide method in which a suicidal individual deliberately acts in a threatening way, with the goal of provoking a lethal response from a law enforcement officer or other armed individual, such as being shot to death.[1] While the phrase is colloquial ("cop" being slang for police officer) and primarily used in the United States media, it has become the most popular name for the phenomenon. Other names include death by cop, suicide-by-police, and blue suicide (a reference to the blue uniforms worn by many police officers). Two more technical terms often used in research are officer- (or police-) assisted suicide and Victim-Precipitated Homicide, though these are much broader and encompass other situations beyond this subject.[1]

Overview

The idea of committing suicide in this manner is based on trained procedures of law enforcement officers, specifically the policy on the use of deadly force. In jurisdictions where officials are readily capable of deadly force (often by being armed with firearms), there are usually set circumstances where they will predictably use deadly force against a threat to themselves or others. This form of suicide functions by exploiting this trained reaction. The most common scenario is pointing a firearm at a police officer or an innocent person, which would reasonably provoke an officer to fire on them in defense. However, many variants exist; for example, attacking with a knife or other hand weapon, trying to run an officer or other person over with a car, or trying to trigger a (presumed) explosive device.

This entire concept hinges on the person's state of mind, and their desire to end their own life, which can be difficult to determine post mortem. Some cases are obvious, such as pointing an unloaded or non-functioning gun (such as a toy gun or starter's pistol) at officers, or the presence of a suicide note. Some suspects brazenly announce their intention to die before they act (e.g., the iconic declaration "You'll never take me alive!"). However, many cases can be more difficult to determine, as some suspects with the desire to die will actually fire live ammunition and even kill people before being killed themselves. Many law enforcement training programs have added sections to specifically address handling these situations if officers suspect that the subject is attempting to goad them into using lethal force.

History

While only formally studied in late 20th century, the concept of deliberately precipitating one’s own slaying by the provocation of executive officials may span back to the late Roman Empire. In 4th century northern Africa, a Donatist sect known as the Circumcellions (or "agonistici") emerged that held the concept of martyrdom to be very sacred. On occasion, members of this group assaulted Roman legionaries or armed travelers with simple wooden clubs to provoke them into attacking and martyring them. Others interrupted courts of law and verbally provoked the judge so that he would order their immediate execution (a normal punishment at the time for contempt of court). [2]

Many modern cases that pre-date the formal recognition of the phenomenon have been identified or speculated by historians as matching the pattern now known as suicide by cop. According to authors Mark Lindsay and David Lester, Houston McCoy, one of the two Austin Police Department officers who shot and killed Charles Whitman, the Texas Tower sniper, believed that Whitman could have shot him and fellow officer Ramiro Martinez, but "he was waiting for them, and wanted to be shot."[3] The 1976 death of Mal Evans, road manager, assistant, and a friend of The Beatles, who aimed an air gun at police and refused to put it down, was theorized as a possible example of this phenomenon.[4] Some historians believe that Giuseppe Zangara, the man who killed Chicago mayor Anton Cermak in a possible attempt to assassinate then President-Elect Franklin D. Roosevelt, might have been attempting suicide by police.[5]

Recognition and research

The phenomenon has been described in news accounts from 1981[6], and scientific journals since 1985[6]. The earliest use of the phrase itself was in 1988[7] and it did not become common until the early 2000s. The phrase seems to have originated in the United States, but has also appeared in the UK, where a jury first determined someone committed suicide by cop in 2003.[8]

Some of the first research into suicide by cop was completed by Sgt. Rick Parent of the Delta Police Department. Parent's research of 843 police shootings determined that about 50% were victim precipitated homicide. Police defined victim precipitated homicide as "an incident in which an individual bent on self-destruction, engages in life threatening and criminal behavior to force law enforcement officers to kill them."[9]

The first formally labeled "Suicide by Cop" case in English legal history was a judgment made by Reverend Dr William Dolman while serving as a London coroner between 1993 and 2007[10]. It set a legal precedent and the judgment, as a cause of death, has been a part of English law since.

Yeah, was just checking out the Angle 2 vid.  First shot does cycle and spits debris toward the counter with a little muzzle flash.  The debris has me thinking it’s a stock pistol vice a blank replica.

In the other angle I do see the black splotch appear on the floor at the “surprise” second shot.  Can’t tell if there’s a bullet or not though.  Looks to be at least propellant splatter at that range.

Also, re: blanks, with no hard projectile, wouldn’t that tend to reduce recoil regardless of caliber?  Thus the concern that blanks might not cycle the pistol.

Several reports claim “S&W 9mm”.  Was such a wimpy round that law enforcement went to 40.

What is AD?

AD = accidental discharge

As for 9mm vs .40 or .45 ... it's not a matter of needing a less "wimpy" round.  More often than not, the decision is actually a public safety issue.  A 9mm FMJ is a sleek round, resulting in a deep penetration and more likely to actually exit through the other side of the intended target.  This creates a problem for those wanting to avoid hitting innocent bystanders who might be in line of sight.  The .40 and .45 rounds are fatter and FMJ's in these calibers are actually near-flat at the tip, so through-and-through is less likely and safer to use in public.

The additional stopping power of the .40 and .45 is a bonus.

That's what our concealed carry instructor says, who is also a LEO and LETC instructor.

Hey look...36% of the murders committed by authority are not murders at all... They are really suicides. And the researchers say that number is low, it sould by over 60% but the local police forces are not yet educated on this form of cover up so more training is needed in local communities which is being authorized. 'Suicide By Cop' Phenomenon Occurring In Over A Third Of North American Shootings Involving Police
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/02/090218103529.htm

ScienceDaily (Feb. 19, 2009) — “Suicide by Cop” (SBC) is a suicide method in which a person engages in actual or apparent danger to others in an attempt to get oneself killed or injured by law enforcement. A new study in the Journal of Forensic Sciences examined the prevalence of this phenomenon among a large sample of officer-involved shootings. Results show that SBC occurs at extremely high rates, with 36 percent of all shootings being categorized as SBC. The findings confirm the growing incidence of this method of suicide, with SBC cases more likely to result in the death or injury of the subjects 50 percent of the time. The study was led by noted police and forensic psychologist Kris Mohandie, Ph.D., who has over nineteen years of experience in the assessment and management of violent behavior. Dr. Mohandie responded on-scene to the O.J. Simpson barricade and assisted the L.A. County District Attorney’s prosecution of the stalker of Steven Spielberg.  Using the largest empirical sample of police shootings to examine the issue of SBC, Dr. Mohandie, J. Reid Meloy, Ph.D., A.B.P.P., and Peter I. Collins, M.C.A., M.D., F.R.C.P., examined 707 cases of North American officer-involved shootings from 1998 to 2006. Materials reviewed included police reports, witness statements, criminal histories on subjects, photographs, videotapes, and external review reports. SBC was found to occur at a momentous rate among officer-involved shooting cases. The fact that 36 percent of all shootings in the sample could be categorized as SBC underscores the significance of suicidal impulses among those who become involved in shootings and other uses of force with police officers. The study also verifies that suicidal individuals can in fact threaten, injure, and kill others in their quest to commit suicide. These individuals are quite lethal to themselves, with a 97 percent likelihood of being injured or killed. There was a one in three chance of others being harmed during the incident. “It is clear from our research that SBC is a common occurrence among officer involved shootings and must be considered as an issue during post-event investigations,” the authors conclude. School and Campus Threat Management
There is a new sense of urgency to keep our children and schools safe. The recent Virginia Tech and Illinois tragedies remind us that these issues can occur in universities as they have in middle and high schools. The recent deaths of students in Colorado and Pennsylvania at the hands of outside offenders highlights that students are not the only threat sources and the need exists to protect our schools from outsiders with unique and dangerous agendas. The tragic deaths of hundreds of people, many of whom were children, in a school based terrorism incident in Russia further underscores this issue. There are new dimensions of threat for school personnel, mental health, legal, and school police and security professionals to consider.

This presentation will provide attendees with an overview of cutting edge information about school based threat assessment, violence prevention and intervention strategies. It will assist in understanding the unique assessment, management, criminal, and civil legal issues associated with these cases and how to reduce one’s liability in the process. The material presented will be based on over 17 years of topic-specific experience, pre/post conviction interviews and reviews of school violence perpetrators, victims, and incidents. Participants will gain practical ideas that may be applied to their own educational setting.

Workshop Content
Extent of the school violence problem
Three types of potential offenders

Clinical and forensic indicators of "suicide by cop".
Journal of forensic sciences 2000;45(2):384-9.
http://www.biomedexperts.com/Abstract.bme/10782957/Clinical_and_forensic_indicators_of_suicide_by_cop

This paper reviews the literature pertaining to the phenomenon of "suicide by cop"--any incident in which a suicidal individual attempts to get law enforcement to kill him. This article defines the term "suicide by cop," discusses the various motivations of individuals who engage in this type of behavior, presents the risk factors and indicators for suicide and violence, and describes specific indicators for suicide by cop. Proper recognition of these events, prior and subsequent to their occurrence, has important implications for prevention, officer safety, equivocal death analysis and psychological autopsy, civil litigation, criminal justice proceedings, and community stability. This paper presents seven case studies which demonstrate the clinical and forensic indicators of this phenomenon.

Five Problems with Active Shooter Lockdown Drills
http://thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/11/robert-farago/five-problems-with-active-shooter-lockdown-drills/
Posted on November 4, 2010 by Robert Farago

“While most states require security drills up to three times a year, a new law in New Jersey says all schools must hold them once a month,” nj.com reports. “In addition to monthly fire drills.” And I might add, actual lockdowns. Every day, I see stories of school lockdowns. Like, say, this one [via pittsburghlive.com]: “A 12-year-old boy pointed fake guns at the Clairton Education Center on Wednesday, prompting school officials to lock down the campus for nearly two hours.” While schools are far more likely to face an active shooter than a fire, I have some problems with lockdowns and lockdown drills . . .

1. Urgency
In the boy who cried wolf , the villagers eventually ignore the boy. The wolf eats the two-legged attention-seeker. The villagers shake their heads, appoint someone to clean up the mess and return to their Wii fit games. Substitute shooter for wolf, and everybody dies. You NEED administrators, teachers and students to feel a frisson of fear to get moving. And scan for possible threats. When a school holds too many lockdown drills, participants get lethargic.

2. Strategy
While I understand the need to gather children in “safe rooms,” classrooms are not safe rooms. In the majority of cases, the doors are easily breached. Assembling kids in one space is extremely efficient—for the shooter. Also, the lockdown response is not situationally dependent. You’re teaching caregivers to follow ONE strategy, which may not apply. What if there’s a shooter between the class and the classroom (i.e. “safety”)?

3. Passivity
Lockdown drills teach students to cower in the face of violence. In an actual event, children might be better advised to run, disperse, hide or, yes, attack. They should at least know how to find cover and concealment (and the difference between the two), so that they can find it for themselves and others. Again, I don’t think there’s one answer. Options—including individual initiative—save lives. For example, what if a group of students get separated from the teacher, or the teacher gets taken out? What then?

4. Teacher training
If we are going to consider an active shooter as a realistic threat—and clearly we have—teachers need to be trained in self-defense. I can see where parents wouldn’t want their teachers packing heat, but the men and women protecting our children should have some basic hand combat skills, regular force-on-force training and location-based defense planning. That would be a far better use of time than seven more lockdown drills.

5. Simulation
Speaking of force-on-force training, nothing beats full-on simulation. Granted, a fake active shooter drill could traumatize some children. So what? The only way administrators, teachers, students and first responders can adequately prepare for this nightmare is to run a simulation. Which would refine strategy AND get everyone to pay attention.

AD = accidental discharge

Ok.  I mentioned 9mm as possibly explaining the low recoil on the second shot.  It’s supposed to be quite manageable recoil-wise.  And the media specifically mentioned S&W 9mm at one point.

The unidentified ammo did cycle the pistol on the video.

Then again, if blanks in general produce lower recoil then it could have been any caliber.

IDK, just thinking out loud.

Columbine transforms police tactics
http://extras.denverpost.com/news/col030701b.htm
By John Ingold and Marilyn Robinson
Denver Post Staff Writers  Mar. 7, 2001

Law enforcement agencies locally and nationally have studied the Columbine response to learn how to better handle such a situation in the future. "We all learned from Columbine," said Westminster SWAT Cmdr. Gene Boespflug. "The entire department has been trained with immediate action rapid de ployment." Many metro-area departments have or are in the process of training every officer on the force to handle what is known as the "active shooter." Officers are traditionally trained to deal with people such as bank robbers or hostage-takers. In those situations, officers want to negotiate an end to the situation peacefully. "People need to realize the old-time talk-and-tactics response still works," said Lakewood police Capt. Jerry Garner. "In other words, setting up a perimeter and waiting is going to work in most situations." But the active shooter is a different matter. "As you saw at Columbine, the majority of these individuals don't care if they're going to be apprehended," Boespflug said. "They may commit suicide or suicide by cop. They don't care."  So now, instead of waiting outside, authorities wait until they get four officers on scene, Grossman said. Then, they move in a diamond pattern, with a point man, two flankers and a rear. Training drills frequently involve officers having to concentrate through screams, bodies and scared victims running toward them. "You don't wait," said Capt. Tim Cuthriell, the head of Denver's Metro/SWAT bureau. "If lives are being lost and shooting is taking place, you go in as quickly as possible and attempt to confront and neutralize the shooter."  Cuthriell said Denver officers used the technique in January at a possible hostage situation at a bank in Cherry Creek. When officers went in, though, they discovered that the robbers had left and locked two bank employees in the vault. Cuthriell said Denver SWAT officers have been trained in such rapid-response techniques for years. Grossman said Columbine provided a wake-up call that all police officers need to have this type of training. "It really was a watershed," he said.

Only one week of a Facebook page is not enough time for our advanced deep blue machines to catch these people before they act out and become threats to society. Real time profiling with no limits can guarantee that the exact specific bizarro chain of events will never happen again. Even though there was no harm to the public other than the terrorism still conducted by the MSM, "NO LIMIT" profiling must be implemented ASAP before any of the implementers get indicted for sedition, fraud against the people of the US, treason, crimes against humanity, etc.

Data Profiling with No Limits
http://www.x88.com/product/x88_pandora_data_profiling_and_discovery.shtml

X88 Pandora takes data profiling & discovery to another level with none of the limitations of existing products. It pro-actively profiles 100% of the data for total accuracy with blistering performance and scalability, providing unlimited speed-of-thought analysis of both data and metadata.

There is no wait time, no need to run profiles or create queries, just instant access with no impact to operational systems. It provides the true content, structure, quality and relationships of your enterprise data in a single, integrated and consolidated view.

Pandora reverse-engineers everything from the data itself, never rejecting data and ensuring total accuracy. Utilising 64-bit technology, it scales linearly across multiple processor cores to give an ultra high speed performance in data profiling and discovery that has never before been experienced.

Power and Simplicity
All this power comes with true simplicity. The user interface was designed by practitioners to provide the most streamlined and intuitive navigation possible. Users require no technical skills at all and can be up to speed and productive in one day. Pandora is zero administration providing a low impact solution. Even installation is simple - just tell Pandora how much memory and disk space to use, and it figures everything else out for itself. There is no configuration, schema definition or administration and it is totally self maintaining.

It supports up to 2 billion tables, each with up to 2 billion rows per table, works with all international character sets and runs on commodity hardware.

Pandora allows colleagues to work collaboratively in a secure, role-based environment, and keeps a history of all activity, allowing users to log on and immediately pick up their work where they left off.
The X88 Pandora User Interface
Column Profiling
Pandora profiles data automatically at point of load, deriving the true content, quality and meaning of every data item, producing an extensive set of over 170 statistics automatically per column such as:-
Frequency distribution of column values, formats and phonetic patterns
Unique value, format and phonetic counts
Actual and most prevalent data types
Smallest, largest, least common, most common values and formats
Shortest, average and longest value length
Numeric scale & precision
Sum, average, variance & standard deviation
Null and blank counts

Pandora automatically standardises values to a common business interpretation whilst also retaining the original variants. If a column contains, for example, mixed alpha-numeric and integer values, Pandora will calculate statistics per data type too, so you could view the column as a whole, from an alpha-numeric view point or from an integer view point.

You can interactively click on any statistic to view related information. Pandora provides interactive drill down to the data associated with every statistic instantly, regardless of volumes, thanks to the revolutionary way that it stores information. A few mouse clicks are sufficient to interactively filter, sort, count and sum any data, metadata or profile. Unexpectedly frequent values or formats across multiple columns are highlighted using statistical analysis of values, formats and lengths in the Outliers Report.

Pandora automatically calculates structural and phonetic patterns, and provides unique distributions of these as Frequency Analysis views at column, table and even enterprise level. This includes information such as the value, its frequency, its format pattern and any phonetic patterns as well as unique information such as the count of columns that this value appears in throughout the whole enterprise, and how many times it appears in the entire database (overall database occurrences). Each column can also have documented expectations, which may be manually configured or automatically derived from, for example, existing database catalogues or Data Definition Language. These are automatically compared against profiling results and any inconsistencies are highlighted accordingly.

Example documented expectations are:
Expected data type
Expected length
Expected format pattern
Expected value range
Expected scale & precision
Expected nullability
Expected uniqueness (i.e 100% for a single column key)
At a click of a button, Pandora will also produce exportable quality reports.
Example Column Metadata
Profiling Column Values
Profiling Column Formats
Profiling Column Phonetics
Reporting

Pandora provides a number of reports for automatically assessing imported data, such as the Table Quality Report, Relationship Report and Outliers Report. Users can collaboratively extend business knowledge about the data by creating notes attached to any item in the repository, including attaching related views of data. All of this information can be exported as a composite report.

Pandora supports a number of export formats including web pages, allowing knowledge and data to be viewed by users outside of Pandora.

Apart from the data manipulation capabilities, Pandora also provides the ability to change the presentation of data views by setting colours, type-faces, widths, custom formatting and much more - to provide a bespoke appearance to output data.

Example Table Quality Report

Example Relationship Report

Dependency & Key discovery
Discovering multi-column keys and dependencies between columns in a table has always been an Achilles heel for products of this nature as traditional techniques can take hours or even days for small samples, resulting in highly misleading results. Pandora uses a revolutionary and unique approach to discovering dependencies and keys of any quality using the entire dataset in less time than existing products can analyse a small sample.

Dependencies and keys can be discovered incrementally and additively at differing quality levels, and the user can drill down to both valid and invalid detailed results, and then further drill down to the actual rows that are in error. Critical dependencies can be named, and saved as part of the repository.

Users can also simply define keys or dependencies to be checked individually, which is an extremely fast operation on 100% volume of the data. No other product can come close to the accuracy and performance of Pandora for this type of analysis.
Dependency Discovery
Relationship discovery

Pandora automatically and incrementally relates the enterprise together simply by loading data. It memorises every usage of every value, and allows immediate navigation to where those values exist or to where they are embedded regardless of volumes, number of tables or columns. Pandora provides detailed information about common value domains and cross-table joins automatically. There is no time lost waiting for what-if analysis processes to run, and relationships can never be missed or misjudged. The statistics produced are 100% accurate, covering every aspect of a common value domain or cross-table join. Exceptions to a relationship are instantly available for interrogation as full interactive drill-down is provided to any aspect of any relationship, for example:-
View the joined rows between two related tables, including unmatched records (i.e. outer joins)
View the common value domain between two columns of different tables

The purse used by Bay District School Board member Ginger Littleton in an attempt to disarm a gunman Tuesday has been cleaned out of personal possessions and will be auctioned on eBay.

Proceeds from the auction by WJHG-TV will go to the Salvage Santa project headed by Mike Jones, the school district’s security chief credited with saving the lives of the board members. Jones has spent countless hours rebuilding and repairing hundreds of bicycles for local children each year for the past 30 years.

From Deborah Doft and Rick Martin, CNN

On Friday, Littleton said the idea of putting her faux crocodile leather purse for sale on eBay was an easy decision after she was contacted with the idea from a local TV station on Thursday. The auction was supposed to benefit Salvage Santa, a program run by Mike Jones -- the security officer who, police said, shot Duke before Duke killed himself. "The hero of the day was Mike Jones, who is our safety officer who took the shooter down," Littleton said. "He takes old toys and bikes and fixes them up and gives them to children who need them at Christmas." WJHG-TV anchor Joe Moore said he came up with idea to auction off the purse and said Littleton agreed. "I thought, 'Wow, what closure for everyone,'" Littleton said. "This was a way to tie everything up." But Moore said eBay pulled the auction of the purse because legal requirements weren't met. He said the bidding reached $1,225 at one point. It was not immediately clear what requirements were in question, though Moore said Jones' solo venture might not meet eBay's charity guidelines. A call to eBay was not immediately returned. Littleton said she was not aware that the purse was no longer online. It's unclear whether or how the auction might proceed, but Littleton said she didn't have a hard time giving up the now famous handbag. "Well, I wasn't terribly attached to the purse," Littleton said. "So anything I could to extend the purse to the lives of other people was a good idea."
