The US trustee representing the victims of Bernard Madoff, has filed a $19.6bn lawsuit accusing almost 60 people and institutions, including some of Italy and Austria’s largest banks, of participating in a decades-long “illegal scheme”.
The suit, the largest and most serious civil claim filed in the case, targets Bank Medici, the failed Austrian bank, Sonja Kohn, its former president, and Bank Austria and UniCredit, its partial owners, for allegedly participating in a “conspiracy” that sent money to Madoff.

Bernie Madoff’s son found dead in apparent suicide
NEW YORK, N.Y. Jailed financier Bernard Madoff’s eldest son was found dead of an apparent suicide Saturday on the second anniversary of his father’s arrest, according to police and a lawyer for the family.
Mark Madoff, 46, was found dead in his apartment in Manhattan’s fashionable SoHo district, according to police department spokesman Paul Browne. A relative notified police around 7:30 a.m.
“Mark Madoff took his own life today. This is a terrible and unnecessary tragedy,” his lawyer, Martin Flumenbaum, said in a written statement.
His body was found hanging from a dog leash that had been fashioned into a noose and strung over a pipe in the ceiling of his living room, according to a law enforcement official. The official was not authorized to speak publicly about the case and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
“Mark was an innocent victim of his father’s monstrous crime who succumbed to two years of unrelenting pressure from false accusations and innuendo. We are all deeply saddened by this shocking turn of events,” Flumenbaum said.

This will be blanketed.
Hanging seems to have become a fad, the method of choice?
I may be wrong, but anytime one person is on the inside track, has the goods, knows the deal, he or she is at risk.
Yes, this one will be kept under raps and you can bet the home, apartment, office, has been visited by cleaners.....

Do medical examiners routinely perform some sort of ID check in suicide cases? You know like fingerprints or DNA checks.
Is Mark now hanging out with Jim Morrison on some remote isle somewhere? LOL!
