Nelson was busted at 9:00 AM at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, TX. Nelson was in his tour bus, traveling from California to Austin, when he was detained.
Is anybody reading this? Where is the lawful "international" border, where there is no 4th Amendment between California and Texas? |

Like most government agencies, the BP is out of control. They don't abide by the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution. Such a crime---smoking pot in his motor home. As 1000's of illegals cross the TX-Mexican border. Juarez is 75 miles from Sierra Blancha--where the real killing and drug dealers are. Seems to me that the BP are spineless to be stopping motorists on a stretch of lonely freeway. |

Absolutely. And nobody will ever get my vote again, unless what truly matters is their main reason for running. They have to at least acknowledge the problem before I'll even give them a second look. All too often lesser evil voters avoid shame and regret and prevent painful cognitive dissonance by deluding themselves that the politician they helped put in office is really not so bad after all. But I also think we may be be giving them too much credit by presuming they've put any thought, whatsoever, into their choice. I think it's much more simple than that, that they don't know and they don't really care. They feel it's their duty to vote and do so on a whim. Like my brother-in-law who knows nothing about politics and everything about sports, but always votes liberal because his family has done so for generations. Crazy. |
