He should move to one of the 15 states that have legalized medicinal marijuana.  At 77, I bet he has a lot of aches and pains.  He would qualify for a medicinal marijuana permit.

A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.

Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.

Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested.

Is anybody reading this?  Where is the lawful "international" border, where there is no 4th Amendment between California and Texas?

Like most government agencies, the BP is out of control.  They don't abide by the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution.

Such a crime---smoking pot in his motor home.

As 1000's of illegals cross the TX-Mexican border.

Juarez is 75 miles from Sierra Blancha--where the real killing and drug dealers are.

Seems to me that the BP are spineless to be stopping motorists on a stretch of lonely freeway.

So what can the marauding, plundering Gestapo bureaucracy of Homerland Insecurity have "international border patrol checkpoints" to lawlessly conduct illegal, warrant-less searches and seizures in Nebraska now?

We use to live in Iowa and yes, the BP works there also.  Sometimes raiding Chinese and Mexican restaurants looking for illegals.  I believe they are doing these warrant-less searches throughout the county. JUST A HUNCH BUT THESE THINGS ALL ADD UP.

End the war on some drugs!

The Democratic and Republican parties have spent decades proving over and over again that they are equally committed to not only perpetuating that war, but to expanding it whenever possible.

But the "lesser evil voters" who rightly condemn the drug war would sooner say 2+2=5 than admit to this, because to admit to that would mean having to admit to the fact that they've been mindlessly voting for the very policy they profess to "oppose" all these years.

Absolutely. And nobody will ever get my vote again, unless what truly matters is their main reason for running. They have to at least acknowledge the problem before I'll even give them a second look.

Quote
All too often lesser evil voters avoid shame and regret and prevent painful cognitive dissonance by deluding themselves that the politician they helped put in office is really not so bad after all.

But I also think we may be be giving them too much credit by presuming they've put any thought, whatsoever, into their choice. I think it's much more simple than that, that they don't know and they don't really care. They feel it's their duty to vote and do so on a whim. Like my brother-in-law who knows nothing about politics and everything about sports, but always votes liberal because his family has done so for generations. Crazy.

Yep, that's it. The one the feds don't care to openly discuss to the general public.

How interesting that they set the limit at 100 miles. Seems to me though that if you got enemy 100 miles inside your border, your overrun!

It is about time Americans stood up and abolished all drug laws.  Take the power out of the criminals hands and make everything legal.  That is the right thing to do and America must resist the New World Order and do it now!  A 77 year old frail man being arrested makes me sick to my stomach, especially a man as good as Willie.  A true American legend.  Disgusting!
