This exchange is so hilariously awkward, I just had to share it with you.
 Cheesy
I really wish I knew the outcome.

Canadian freeman gets pulled over by police and does not consent.

The outcome would be interesting, but the history of this local hero, what made him, his interests, would be even more interesting.

Heh, this kid is lucky as hell this cop was a moron.  The kid kept asking what breach of peace he committed, and the cop kept saying "refusal to submit to a breath test" which isn't a "breach of peace"... all he had to say was "speeding", then the smell of alcohol on his breath, and his own admission to drinking, which gives probable cause for the breathalyzer.

And the fact that kid kept mentioning the Magna Carta, and the cop didn't correct him, worked to the kids advantage.

I would like to see what the final outcome was.  I wonder if the "supervisor" was a little smarter.

is it not a Canadian youtube? is not Canada a member of the commonwealth?

Magna Carta
Quote
The 1215 Charter required King John of England to proclaim certain liberties, and accept that his will was not arbitrary, for example by explicitly accepting that no "freeman" (in the sense of non-serf) could be punished except through the law of the land, a right which is still in existence today.

Magna Carta was the first document forced onto an English King by a group of his subjects (the barons) in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their privileges. It was preceded and directly influenced by the 1100 Charter of Liberties, when King Henry I had specified particular areas where his powers would be limited.

although i have watched doco's that argued that the freemen are the barons only and the entire concept of us "serfs" claiming freemanship is a good giggle because you are either a king, baron or a serf.

i go one step further and realise that its ALL fiction and all a fake construct. just bullies making up rules for them selves as they jostle for roosting space and once they had the M.C they could get back to happily sodomizing the serfs.... again that's you and me.....  pass the lube will you?

The royal family has no say in Canadian law anymore.  They are simply figure heads.  Canada has adopted their own laws since independence...   Being a commonwealth nation means they should follow the Magna Carta about as much as they should follow what the Queen tells them to do.... which is nothing...

And the "a right which is still in existence today." quote.  That would be valid for Canada had they still been using British law, but they adopted their own laws, constitution, and charter of rights.  The Magna Carta has nothing to do with Canadian rights anymore (and with good reason.. otherwise Canada would still be paying taxes to the King).

then someone should stop feeding the information he is listening to then.. because my previous post is what he thinks he knows. sad that minds are screaming to be free but will grab at straws...

pompously pointing at strands of the web while missing the point that you are caught in it and more importantly that the web exists at all is a sad state indeed. its all fake and it always was.

Umm.. ok?

Anyway, here's something from your wiki link you forgot to mention:

Magna Carta is an English charter, originally issued in the year 1215, and reissued later in the 13th century in modified versions which omit certain temporary provisions, including the most direct challenges to the monarch's authority. The charter first passed into law in 1225. The 1297 version, with the long title (originally in Latin) The Great Charter of the Liberties of England, and of the Liberties of the Forest, still remains on the statute books of England and Wales.

Canada is no longer bound by those laws since independence.  Even Britain is only SLIGHTLY bound to SOME of them since the abolishing of the royal family as their rulers.

But hey, if you believe Canada should be bound by rules imposed on them by a tyrannical royal family, just to suit your point in this thread, that's your prerogative.  It also doesn't make it right  Wink

What a shame it ends before the supervisor shows up!

This guy on RT looks odd (Side Show Bob? Not that that matters), but he also says some rather intriguing things.
