Would you support the bounty system Geolibertarian? If so, how would you suggest it be implemented?

Hmm, seems I can't edit seperated posts. Anyway, anyone who's read Henry George's Protection or Free Trade (being posted above by Geolibertarian) will note that George supports a bounty system in place of tariffs. Hence my question above pertaining to this Smiley

Sorry, I wanted to finish posting the book before responding.

As to your question, if you read more closely, the only thing George said in support of the bounty system is that it's superior to (or least less bad than) protective tariffs.

George eventually concluded that the only true way to "encourage" industry is to remove all restrictions (both direct and indirect) on production. It is these restrictions that make such encouragement seem necessary in the first place. Thus, a bounty system (which, as I understand it, is just a 19th-century term for corporate welfare) would simply be yet another way of treating the symptom while leaving the underlying root cause untouched.

Okay, would that entail removing things like EMC regulations then?
