THE UNAUTHORIZED HISTORY OF HAARP

Group in the preparation of this report.

      There has been considerable interest in the possibility the mysterious 0.9 Hz ULF signal observed by the ELFrad group is a result of HAARP broadcasts. I have been monitoring HAARP for sometime and noted a number of similar characteristics between the HAARP broadcasts and the dates, times and pulsing of the ULF signal. The name HAARP (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program) would imply its major function is the creation of high-frequency or shortwave signals.

     Nonetheless, one of the main purposes of HAARP is the generation of powerful ULF/ELF/VLF signals as stated in both the original design patent and in their list of ongoing research activities. For those researchers using sensitive ULF/ELF receivers or magnetometers for seismic correlation studies it would be useful to know when HAARP is generating ULF signals and then subtract those signals from your data set. Unfortunately, HAARP does not notify the public of the varied dates, times and frequency, or nature of modulation of its transmissions. So you would need to determine that for yourself.

1 -- LISTENING TO HAARP

     HAARP transmits primarily on 2 frequencies: 3.39 MHZ and 6.99 MHZ. The multiple transmitters have the capability, under computer control, to quickly change to any frequency between 2.8 and 10 MHZ. Early tests have demonstrated this capacity. But the crossed array circularly-polarized dipole antennas have been "cut" for maximum Effective Radiated Power at the design frequencies.

     Most radio amateurs would quickly recognize the shortwave radio propagation characteristics for the HAARP frequencies since they are adjacent to the 40 and 80 meter ham bands. This means the signals can be heard quite well at night over long distances since they reflect off the smooth F layer of the ionosphere and may bounce or skip clear around the world. During the day time the sunlight disrupts the D, E and F layers and the long distance capability of those frequencies from 1 to 10 MHZ is lost.

     In March 1997 and again March 1999, HAARP performed listener reception tests, with mostly ham radio listeners, using CW morse code signals at a specified time and date on both 3.39 and 6.99 MHZ. In the March 1997 test, most listener reports show strong signals from the second F layer skip along a line from northern California to Toronto, then very little or no reception along the line from southern California to the New England states, but strong reception again along a third F layer skip line from Texas to the Carolinas.

     In the March 1999 listener tests, with the then much higher power output, there was "minimal-but-readable" to "very-strong" reception in all of the US and Canada along with strong signals in Japan, Australia, United Kingdom and central Europe. Even though HAARP sends most of its 110 MW of power straight up in the air, there are still enough megawatts leaking off the side lobes and going around the world to make HAARP one of the "big boys" on 40 and 80 meters.

      By June 2000 HAARP has again increased its power levels. The increased reception around the world of the 1999 test compared to the 1997 test is due not only to the increased transmitter power but also the increased plasma density of the ionospheric F layer as we approach the solar sunspot maximum in the year 2000. So world-wide reception of HAARP on short wave may drop in succeeding years.

     During normal operation throughout the year, HAARP transmits on either of its frequencies with a loud 6.25 second pulse, and with either a 15 or 30 second space between pulses. When listening for the pulses they are easy to distinguish. The sound of the pulse is something like a blowtorch, modulated by the sound of a 10-ton fully loaded Mercedes lorry falling off the Chunnel train half-way to Paris. Once you have heard the HAARP pulses they are instantly recognizable.

     For monitoring purposes the receiver audio can be set very low. Each of the pulses begins with two, short but very strong, sine wave multi-frequency tones which are about 20 db above the main pulse. With the receiver audio set to a minimum background hiss, the "beep-boop" sound of the pre-pulse tones can be easily heard and let you know HAARP is transmitting.

2. -- IONOSPHERIC HEATER RESEARCH FACILITIES

3. -- THE EASTLUND PATENT

     It would seem the primary shortwave transmitter instrument at HAARP, called the IRI (Ionospheric Research Instrument), has been built essentially according to the 1991 US Patent 5,038,664 submitted by Dr. Bernard Eastlund. The patent has the esoteric name " Method For Producing A Shell Of Relativistic Particles At An Altitude Above The Earth's Surface ."

     As with most modern patents it is long on theory and claims, but short on actual description of how the device is built. The assumption being any person knowledgeable in the field would be able to build a device to perform according to the specifications and demonstrate the claims. As such, HAARP does this quite well. The patent, originally filed in 1985, is now 15 years old so it can be assumed some improvements have been made.

     Put simply, the patent describes a method using a radio beam aimed at the ionosphere where shortwave pulses from 1 to 3.6 MHZ are applied to "heat" the electrons in the ionosphere. Then the antenna is turned so as to align with the magnetic field lines in the magnetosphere, and ELF waves (in the audio range) are applied which then drive the hot electrons upward into the magnetic bottle of the magnetosphere where they remain trapped. The purpose is to enhance the number and density of hot electrons in the magnetosphere so it will become more radio reflective. Some of the beneficial reasons for making the magnetosphere into a radio reflector are listed in the patent. Of course, none of the military uses for a radio/radar mirror out at several earth diameters above the surface are listed.

     The main advantage of the unique placement of HAARP in Gakona, Alaska is by placing the transmitter directly below the auroral electrojet where the magnetosphere intersects the ionosphere, the magnetic field lines there are nearly vertical. Then both operations described in the patent can be performed simultaneously and without moving the antenna. Thus the shortwave pulses heat the ionospheric electrons and the powerful ULF/ELF component of the pulses shoots the electrons up into the magnetosphere at the same time. There are several other ionospheric heaters like HAARP in operation around the world. But facilities such as Arecibo in Puerto Rico and VOA Delano in California are too far away from the auroral electrojet to accomplish both these functions.

     Thus one of the primary research activities at HAARP is creating the enhanced reflectivity magnetosphere and then bouncing radio signals off the mirror to determine how well the mirror is working. This depends on how many hot electrons are injected into the magnetic bottle of the magnetosphere. To get the most electrons injected, you need to have just the right ULF/ELF signal.

     When you are listening to HAARP the sound of the blowtorch is the string of pulses from two pulse generators heating the ionosphere, but slightly out of sync with each other so there is a beat frequency between them which changes numerous times and generates the ULF signals. The continuous sweeping through the ULF/ELF range is the sound of the 10-ton Mercedes lorry falling off the Chunnel train. The purpose of the research is to determine which ULF/ELF sound is most efficient. So sometimes the researchers will fill that lorry with a flock of Welsh Sheep and other times they might try a load of Scotch Rye Whiskey. And one time it sounded like a load of Window Workers from Holland. I can tell by listening they have not yet determined which sound is most efficient at producing a shell of relativistic particles, Welsh sheep, Window Workers or Whiskey. But as do all good researchers on long term government grants they keep trying.

4. -- THE MYSTERIOUS 0.9 Hz ALFVEN RESONANCE

     Since the early days of radio, in the age of Nikolai Tesla, it has been known the earth has a natural electromagnetic resonance. If a radio signal is sent out from point A it will then travel around to the opposite side of the planet, the antipode at point B, and then continue to travel around back to point A. If a new signal is sent at the same time the first signal arrives back, then the two will add together and seem to resonate constructively.

      To calculate that resonant frequency is simple. Take the speed of the radio waves (speed of light), and divide by the distance traveled (circumference of the earth). Then 186,000 mi/s divided by 24,000 mi results in 7.75 /s or about 8 Hz. This is called the first Schumann Resonance of the earth. It is assumed radio static from large lightning discharges follow this pattern and can be heard on a ULF radio receiver as overlapping random ringing damped waves at 8 Hz.

     If you take your receiver and tune below the Schumann Resonance down to about 0.9 or 1 Hz you will hear static from yet another resonant source. The cause of this Alfven Resonance is a complete mystery. It would imply there is some other path radio waves can follow which has a round trip path 8 times the size of the earth. Or it may mean there is a medium through which the radio waves travel which is 8 times slower than the speed of light. It might mean a combination of the two. It can only be a change in the speed of light or a longer distance traveled. As yet no one knows.

     When radio waves or light rays travel through water or glass they are slowed down to about 3/4 the speed of light. This accounts for the bending of light at air/water interfaces or by prisms. If radio waves travel through ionized gas they also are slowed down depending on the "plasma frequency" which is a function of the temperature, density and the species of ions which make up the plasma. If radio waves travel through the rocks of the earth they too are slowed down depending on the density and make-up of the rock. As a result there are primarily three schools of thought about the source of the Alfven Resonance. These are: (1) magnetospheric, (2) ionospheric and (3) lithospheric interactions with radio waves.

     Many of the members of the Elfrad group would fit into the third lithospheric group. The theory is, stresses in deep rocks in the lithoshpere created by seismic or magmatic activity can cause piezo-electric signals which radiate from the source, but due to some resonance of the rock and the distance between the crust and mantle, the signals are strongest at the resonance point which might be the Alfven Frequency. As a result the Alfven Resonance may not be due to radio waves in the air, but is actually coming from the earth due to random seismic activity around the planet. This area of study has been pursued for over 20 years, as yet, there are many indications but no clear proof has come forth.

     The second line of thought, ionospheric Alfven waves, has many supporters and researchers with large grants for research. Among these are teams at HAARP, along with European and Russian researchers, possibly using the EISCAT and SURA ionospheric heater facilities. The basic concept here is somehow waves travel through the thin plasma between the top of the ionosphere, the F layer, and below the magnetosphere several thousand miles above the surface, and at a speed much slower than the speed of light. There are some problems with this theory, one being, what is the source of the waves and how did they get there. But there are a number of researchers who just in the last 2 years feel they are right on the edge of proving maser-like interactions in layers of ions below the magnetosphere are the source of the Alfven Resonance.

     The third group, Magnetospheric Alfven waves, seems to have few proponents, or they have not yet published or I simply haven't read their papers. But there is the possibility waves can travel through the plasma of the magnetosphere itself and just as the electrons are bounced back and forth from north to south magnetic pole, they may be grouped in bunches such that their density rises and falls at a 1 Hz rate. This would of course need to be along the longest path of the magnetosphere, which is along the orbit of earth. The magnetosphere in the direction of the sun is compressed by the solar wind bow shock and would be a shorter path. And the magnetosphere path away from the sun is discontinuous since it forms a long conical tail also shaped by the solar wind.

     The magnetospheric tail itself, may in fact be a source of another theory for magnetospheric Alfven waves. If a thunderstorm produces those strange red and blue sprites and elves, the rising plasma jets from these phenomena may radiate electromagnetic waves upward in the direction of the magnetic tail. Under certain solar wind conditions the shape of the magnetic tail may act as a corner reflector and send the radio waves right back to the very thunderstorm which created them, which would then trigger another sprite or elf which then radiates back to the magnetic tail and ... well, possibly an electromagnetic radiation path with a total path length about 8 times the circumference of the earth resonating as long as the thunderstorm is active, with a resonant frequency of 0.9 to 1 Hz.

     What this shows is, there is a tight horse race among many researchers all looking in different places for the source of the mysterious Alfven Resonance at 0.9 Hz. It would seem the lithospheric group is being left out in the cold, while most of the grant money is going to the ionospheric group. Among the grantors of science funding, those people who build radios and then strangely bury their antennas in the ground are often viewed as being like those hardy folk who eat dirt and drink motor oil for breakfast. Thus most of the grant money goes to places like HAARP.

     This also points out the reason for the extreme mystery and secrecy surrounding the projects at HAARP. If you want to find out what is happening at HAARP the only place you might find out is during a cocktail party after an international geophysical conference. Even then if you are lucky enough to collar a researcher, he will only give you a wink and a nod, and that's about it. Why? Well, he doesn't want his competitors and fellow researchers to know what he's doing. He wants to collect his data, write his paper, be first to get into the Journal of Geophysical Research, and then proudly stake his claim as the discoverer of the source of the Alfven Resonance. All that creates an aura of academic secrecy around the HAARP activities which is even tighter than a place like, say, Los Alamos Labs.

     With an environment of such high secrecy, the public is inclined to believe all manner of secret military activities such as, futuristic weapons, weather and mind control projects along with possibly communication with ETs, are all occurring at HAARP. When in fact, most of the secrecy is due to normal academic behavior when a scientific breakthrough is about to occur. But then again, a prime reason for all the secrecy at HAARP is...the US Navy.

5. -- THE SUBMARINE COMMUNICATION CODES

     In the 1960's the US Navy began experiments using ELF transmissions to talk to submarines deep in the ocean. First experiments in 1969 from a 14 mile antenna at Clam Lake, Wisconsin proved the concept would work. They later built a 28 mile antenna and then in 1987 a 56 mile antenna in Upper Michigan. But the US Navy was not alone. The British built a large ELF antenna in Glen Cally Forest, Scotland, the French built one at Roshay, and the Soviets built two very large antennas at Riga and Gomel. The US Navy systems broadcast in the ELF range from 40 to 50 Hz and 70 to 80 Hz, but mostly around 76 Hz. The Soviet system actually operated down in the ULF range at the first Schumann Resonance of 8 Hz. It turns out, the lower in frequency the transmission, the deeper in the ocean the signals can be received.

     Early on the Navy started having problems with the neighbors. Many taxpaying citizens complained about having those big wires putting out some kind of radiation in their backyards. Some people complained about hearing strange noises, ringing and humming in their ears. The cheeseheads in Wisconsin complained the Navy might be drying up their dairy cows. Angus MacDonough in Michigan was sure it was the Navy who was scaring his sheep. And the last thing a Scotsman wants is scared sheep. The Navy needed to find another way to talk to its submarines.

     In 1985 along comes the Eastlund Patent. If you look at the patent another way, it could be, by using shortwave signals to reach up and jiggle the auroral electrojet at a ULF/ELF frequency, then the whole electrojet becomes a 10,000 mile ULF antenna -- and its not in anybody's backyard. With such a large antenna the frequency could go all the way down to the Alfven Frequency of 0.9 Hz and the Navy could talk to even deeper boats. By hiding its submarine antenna up in the ionosphere, the Navy wouldn't need to worry about the neighbors over the back fence complaining, nor worry about Angus MacDonough being scared sheepless.

     The Navy called in a bunch of ULF/ELF researchers and made them an offer. The Navy would supply them a fabulous research facility with state-of-the-art equipment, computer-controlled everything, the best instrumentation available, wonderful living quarters, and a nearby Domino's and Burger King only 2 hours away by overland dogsled. The researchers were ecstatic. But what did the Navy want in return? Nothing. What? Nothing.

     While the magnetic bottle stuffers would be shooting hot electrons into the magnetosphere then turning off the pulse and checking to see how well the mirror was working, all the Navy wanted was that 30 seconds of nothing in between the pulses. And while the 0.9 Hz Alfven wave hunters would be using a ULF pulse to ring the magnetospheric bell and then turn off the pulse so they could take a look around and see what's shakin' up there and maybe discover the Alfven Resonator, all the Navy wants is maybe 15 seconds of that nothing between pulses. To the researchers that was no problem. With mega-dollars in research facilities, grants and possibly Nobel Prizes laying on the bargaining table, and all the Navy wants in return is Nothing? Such a deal. Everybody smiled, shook hands and soon after HAARP construction began.

     If you go to the HAARP Internet web site and look at the nearly-live Induction Magnetometer data you would sometimes see at the bottom of the chart some bright orange lines which seem to be the ULF output of HAARP impressed upon the earth's magnetic field. If you could expand the scale you could actually see the pattern of pulses and spaces of the code. But the output of the magnetometer is averaged over a period of 102.4 seconds. A rather odd number but guaranteed to average out any indication of 15 or 30 second pulses and spaces.

     This would imply the Navy is rather shy about publishing the pattern of nothing on the Internet. So I will assist the Navy in getting over its shyness by publishing it for them. Below are three hour samples of the spaces in between the HAARP pulses. I have indicated a 30 second space with a "1" and a 15 second space with a "0." I have arbitrarily broken the pattern into blocks of 4 to make it easy to read, but in fact the pattern is continuous. These presumably could be called "sweet nothings" from the Navy to their boys in the boats:

     I have made an attempt to decode the second sample. It goes something like, "... SUBCOMNAV to R73 proceed 7E5H the smoking lamp is li..." and then the message breaks off. I may have missed a few of the characters but Mr. Merkley's cryptography course was not my favorite high school elective. For some reason there weren't any girls in the class. If anybody has a better way to decrypt the code, let me know.

6. -- THE HAARP OBSERVATIONS

     In general during the year 2000 spring months HAARP was transmitting on a weekday schedule with almost no broadcasts on weekends. The spring transmissions seemed to stop on May 27, 2000 with only one single very strong pulse on 3.39 MHZ at 0930 UT, then no more transmissions until the summer program began on June 6, 2000. The summer program includes both weekday and weekend transmission. In some cases the times listed here are approximate since the signal may have faded in and then faded out so I could not determine the exact time.

7. -- CONCLUSION

     Have I proven HAARP to be the source of the mystery 0.9 Hz ULF signal? I would have to conclude, No. But it would certainly be the most likely. I have tried to show all the possible sources for man-made signals at the pc1, first Alfven frequency. There are generally two types of possible sources. The first is the ULF/ELF transmitters of which there are only 6, two in Russia, two in the United States, and one each in Britain and France. And a new class of possible sources which are the Ionospheric Heaters with access to the Northern Polar Auroral Electrojet which could modulate the electrojet at the pc1 frequency. In this group there are only 4 possible devices, HISCAT in Sweden, HAARP in Alaska, EISCAT in Norway, and the "little peanut whistle" 17 MW HIPAS operated by UCLA in Fairbanks, Alaska.

     I would suggest all of the ground based ULF/ELF transmitters can be eliminated. To use a loop transmitting antenna at 1 Hz would require a loop with a diameter of about 1000 miles. There is no indication anybody has built one of these. The existing transmitters might be used with the smaller existing antennas but series coils with a length of about 900 miles would need to be wound and inserted in the loop. That would not be very efficient since about 98% of the transmitter power would go into heating the coils and not being transmitted. People have done some silly things before but that is definitely a dumb idea. So we can toss out all the existing ULF/ELF transmitters as not very likely to be the source of the mystery 0.9 Hz signal.

     Among the Ionospheric Heater devices, if we skip the UCLA device, HIPAS, as being too small and not really in the business of modulating the Auroral Jet, then that leaves 3 possible sources. HISCAT, with 350 MW is the largest, then comes HAARP at 110 MW and then there is EISCAT with 48 MW. The HISCAT facility in Sweden looks like a good candidate except for one problem, its still in the conceptual stage and hasn't been built yet. And a lot of the parts for HISCAT will be made out of refurbished parts from EISCAT. So we can exclude HISCAT, and that leaves us with two possible sources for the mysterious 0.9 Hz ULF wave, HAARP and EISCAT. Are we ready to flip a coin and guess which one? Not yet.

     EISCAT (European Incoherent SCATter) facility is co-jointly operated by geophysical research councils in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Japan, France, the United Kingdom and Germany. Their primary focus is using a radar scatter device to map the auroral region, but they do have an ionospheric heater to assist the radar. Their ionospheric heater device is very similar to HAARP's. It has multiple transmitters, uses multiple crossed dipole antennas, but it does have far fewer transmitters and dipoles than HAARP.

     Like HAARP the EISCAT transmitters can work over a large range from 3.85 to 8 MHz. But EISCAT only uses the assigned frequencies of 4.04, 4.544, 4.9128, 5.423, 6.77, 6.96, 7.1, 7.953 MHz. But before you rush over to your receiver and try to tune them in, you need to remember, if you are in the US, and since Norway is around the other side of the planet, and the only possible short wave radio path is over the pole. And during the summer the north pole its always sunny, especially this time of year when we have the midnight sun. That means there is no way to use F layer shortwave skip to receive the EISCAT signals.

      If you want to tune them in to find out if they are modulating their transmitters with ULF waves you need to wait until it is dark both in the US and Norway and that only occurs during November, December and January. But, not to worry. Unlike HAARP which is very secretive, the EISCAT group is very academic, open and cooperative. You can actually write to them, maybe even e-mail them and ask, "Hey, you guys sending out 0.9 Hz pc1 Alfven frequencies on your transmissions?" And they would probably write back, "Nope, not us."

     Well, without any further evidence, its time to flip the coin. Is it HAARP or EISCAT? And every time I flip the coin it keeps coming up HAARPS.

     Its my wish that this information has been useful to you. I have not proven what is the source of the mysterious 0.9 Hz signal, but I have looked at all the possible contenders and tried to eliminate all but the most likely. Its now up to you to do a little digging, a little researching, and maybe some listening to determine from where did the signal come.

I havent got it all figured out just yet but i think HAARP might be causing "global warming" yeah i know its an ionospheric heater - but its not doing it via heat - its doing it via ozone production (ozone is produced as a side effect of bombarding the atmosphere with high frequency radio waves . . .

Earth is wrapped in a donut shaped magnetic field. Circular lines of magnetic flux continuously descend into the North Pole and emerge from the South Pole. The Ionosphere, an electromagnetic-wave conductor, 100 kilometers [62 miles] above the earth, consists of a layer of electrically charged particles acting as a shield from solar winds.

Earth Resonant Frequency
Natural waves are created which result from electrical activity in the atmosphere. They are thought to be caused by multiple lightning storms. Collectively, these waves are called 'The Schumann Resonance', with the strongest current registering at 7.8 Hz. These are quasi-standing [scalar], extremely low frequency (ELF) waves that naturally exist in the earth's electromagnetic cavity which is the space between ground and the Ionosphere. These 'earth brainwaves' are identical to the frequency spectrum of our human brainwaves.

 [Frequency nomenclature: 1 hertz = 1 cycle per second, 1 Khz = 1000cps, 1 Mhz =1 million cps. Wavelength: A 1 Hertz wave has a wavelength that is 186,000 miles long, A 10 Hz wave is 18,600 miles long, etc. Radio-waves move at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second)]

HAARP
The Creator designed living beings to resonate to the natural Schumann Resonance frequency pulsation in order to evolve harmoniously. The Ionosphere is being manipulated by US government scientists using the Alaskan transmitter called HAARP, (High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) which sends focused radiated power to heat up sections of the Ionosphere, which bounces power down again. ELF waves produced from HAARP, when targeted on selected areas, can weather-engineer and create mood changes affecting millions of people. The intended wattage is 1,700 billion watts of power.

Geomagnetic Waves & GWEN
Sixty four elements in the ground modulate, with variation, the geomagnetic waves naturally coming from the ground. The earth's natural 'brain rhythm' above is balanced with these. These are the same minerals found in red blood corpuscles. There is a relation between the blood and geomagnetic waves. An imbalance between Schumann and geomagnetic waves disrupts these biorhythms. These natural geomagnetic waves are being replaced by artificially created low frequency (LF) ground waves coming from GWEN Towers.

GWEN (Ground Wave Emergency Network) transmitters placed 200 miles apart across the USA allow specific frequencies to be tailored to the geomagnetic-field strength in each area, allowing the magnetic field to be altered. They operate in the LF range, with transmissions between LF 150 and 175 KHz. They also emit waves from the upper VHF to the lower UHF range of 225 - 400 MHz. The LF signals travel by waves that hug the ground rather than radiating into the atmosphere. A GWEN station transmits in a 360 degree circle up to 300 miles, the signal dropping off sharply with distance. The entire GWEN system consists of, (depending on source of data), from 58 to an intended 300 transmitters spread across the USA, each with a tower 299-500 ft high. 300 ft copper wires in spoke-like fashion fan out from the base of the system underground, interacting with the earth, like a thin shelled conductor, radiating radio wave energy for very long distances through the ground.

The United States is bathed in this magnetic field which can rise from ground up to 500 ft, but goes down into basements, so everyone can be affected and mind-controlled. The entire artificial ground-wave spreads out over the whole of the USA like a web. It is easier to mind-control and hypnotize people who are bathed in an artificial electromagnetic-wave.

GWEN transmitters have many different functions including:

1. controlling the weather,
2. mind control,
3. behavior and mood control, and
4. sending synthetic-telepathy as infrasound to victims with US government mind-control implants.

GWEN works in conjunction with HAARP and the Russian Woodpecker transmitter, which is similar to HAARP. The Russians openly market a small version of their weather-engineering system called Elate, which can fine-tune weather patterns over a 200 mile area and have the same range as the GWEN unit. An Elate system operates at Moscow airport. The GWEN towers shoot enormous bursts of energy into the atmosphere in conjuction with HAARP. The website www.cuttingedge.org  wrote an expose of how the major floods of the Mid-West USA occurred in 1993.

Atmospheric Vapor Rivers
Enormous, invisible rivers of water, consisting of vapors that flow, move towards the poles in the lower atmosphere. They rival the flow of the Amazon River and are 420 to 480 miles wide and up to 4,800 miles long. They are 1.9 miles above the earth and contain a volume of water equivalent to 340 lbs of water per second. There are 5 atmospheric rivers in each Hemisphere. A massive flood can be created by damming up one of these massive vapor rivers, causing huge amounts of rainfall to be dumped. The GWEN Towers positioned along the areas north of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers were turned on for 40 days and 40 nights, probably mocking the Flood of Genesis. (This was in conjunction with HAARP, that creates a river of electricity flowing thousands of miles through the sky and down to the polar ice-cap, manipulating the jet-stream , like the Russian Woodpecker.) These rivers flooded, causing agricultural losses of $12-15 billion. HAARP produces earthquakes by focusing energy along fault lines. GWEN Towers are located on the fault lines and volcanic areas of the Pacific Northeast.

In 1963, Dr Robert Beck explored effects of external magnetic-fields on brainwaves showing a relationship between psychiatric admissions and solar magnetic storms. He exposed volunteers to pulsed magnetic-fields similar to magnetic-storms, and found a similar response. US 60 Hz electric power ELF waves vibrate at the same frequency as the human brain. UK 50 Hz electricity emissions depress the thyroid gland.

Human Vulnerability
Dr Andrija Puharich in the 50's/60's, found that clairvoyant's brainwaves became 8 Hz when their psychic powers were operative. He saw an Indian Yogi in 1956 controlling his brainwaves, deliberately shifting his consciousness from one level to another. Puharich trained people with bio-feedback to do this consciously, making 8 Hz waves. A healer made 8 Hz waves pass into a patient, healing their heart trouble, her brain emitting 8 Hz . One person emitting a certain frequency can make another also resonate to the same frequency. Our brains are extremely vulnerable to any technology which sends out ELF waves, because they immediately start resonating to the outside signal by a kind of tuning-fork effect. Puharich experimented discovering that

A) 7.83 Hz (earth's pulse rate) made a person feel good, producing an altered-state.
B) 10.80 Hz causes riotous behavior and
C)  6.6 Hz causes depression.

Puharich made ELF waves change RNA and DNA, breaking hydrogen bonds to make a person have a higher vibratory rate. He wanted to go beyond the psychic 8 Hz brainwave and attract psi phenomena. James Hurtak, who once worked for Puharich, also wrote in his book  The Keys of Enoch that ultra-violet caused hydrogen bonds to break and this raised the vibratory rate.

 Puharich presented the mental effects of ELF waves to military leaders, but they would not believe him. He gave this information to certain dignitaries of other Western nations. The US government burned down his home in New York to shut him up and he fled to Mexico. However, the Russians discovered which ELF frequencies did what to the human brain and began zapping the US Embassy in Moscow on 4 July 1976 with electromagnetic-waves, varying the signal, including focusing on 10 Hz. (10 Hz puts people into a hypnotic state. Russians and North Koreans use this in portable mind-control machines to extract confessions. A machine was even found in an American church to help the congregation believe!) The Russian "Woodpecker" signal was traveling across the world from a transmitter near Kiev. The US Air Force identified 5 different frequencies in this compound harmonic Woodpecker signal that was sending signals through the earth and the atmosphere.

Nikola Tesla revealed in 1901 power could be transmitted through the ground using ELF waves. Nothing stops or weakens these signals. The Russians retrieved Tesla's papers when they were finally returned to Yugoslavia after his death.

Puharich continued to monitor the Russian ELF wave signal while in Mexico and the higher harmonics produced  in the MHz range (5.340 MHz). He met the CIA and started working for them. He and Dr. Robert Beck designed equipment to measure these waves and their effect on the human brain. Puharich started his work by putting dogs to sleep. By 1948/49 he graduated to monkeys, deliberately destroying their eardrums to enable them to pick up sounds without the eardrum intact. He discovered a nerve in the tongue could be used to facilitate hearing. He created the dental tooth implant which mind-control victims are now claiming was surreptitiously placed in their mouth by controlled dentists causing them to hear 'voices in their head.'  The implant was placed under dental caps or lodged in the jaw.

Vaccine Implants
Implants are now smaller than a hair's width and are injected with vaccine and flu shots. Millions have had this done unknowingly. These 'biochips' circulate in the bloodstream and lodge in the brain, enabling the victims to hear 'voices' via the implant. There are many kinds of implants now and 1 in 40 are victims from 'alien abduction' statistics, though 1 in 20 has also been gauged.  The fake alien abduction event, revealed to be actually the work of  US military personnel using technology to make hologram spaceships outside, virtual reality scenarios of going onto a spaceship with humans in costumes, has been astutely perceived. Though real alien abductions do occur, the 'alien abduction' scenario has been useful to stop any further investigation or accountability of government  authorities by poor victims who would face mockery and appear silly.

Are we being forced to respond to an artificially induced vibratory rate by global masters who want this planet to have a sudden leap in evolution, populated by the psychically aware and therefore a superior class of humans or is the agenda designed to eliminate billions of people who are 'useless eaters', deceptively being disposed by electro magnetically-induced cancers and diseases?

Electromagnetic Disease Transmission, ELF, & Chemtrails
The physics and engineering behind electromagnetic disease transmission are frightening. Diseases can be reproduced as 'disease signatures' in that the vibration of a disease can be manufactured and sent on to be induced. (The brainwave pattern of hallucinogenic drugs can also be copied and sent by ELF waves to induce 'visions'.) Once diseases are sprayed in the air, electromagnetic-waves attuned to the disease, using harmonics and subharmonics, will make them more lethal and infectious by sending particular disease frequency  death-patterns.

Chemtrails are being sprayed daily all over USA (and other countries too) in a white crisscross pattern. They contain diseases and chemicals which affect our state of consciousness. They can produce apathy which works in conjuction with fluoridation of the water, as well as aspartame and drugs. Fluoride disables the willpower section of the brain, impairing the left occipital lobe.

Fluoride and selenium enable people to 'hear voices'. ELF waves create disturbances in the biological processes of the body and these can be activated in the population once the diseases are introduced into the body from the chemtrails.

Some chemtrails have been analyzed and shown to be creating cleavages in spacial perceptions, blocking the interaction of various amino-acids that relate to higher-consciousness and to increase dopamine in the brain producing a listless, spaced-out state of lower reactive mind.

Basically, the goal is to fog the difference between the real and unreal and some of this could be connected with the many UFO abductions occurring en-mass. Hundreds have been witnessed laid out on tables and implanted. Intelligence agencies are in league with each other behind this disablement of the masses to such a point that they can't even fight back. In order for the perpetrators to do what they want, they need  the overall 'frequency' of each victim to function at a specific rate below the threshold of awareness.

Could this be part of a greater plan with mind-control transmitters covering the whole of USA and England, cleverly disguised as cell phone towers and trees? The power from microwave towers may be turned up to such a level that people can die.

A brain functioning at beta-level (above 13 Hz) is agitated and can't change its perceptions, if it is artificially maintained by technology to that frequency. This may increase body electricity in others, giving them psychic powers. Is this linked to the New-Agers claim of a rising 12-14 Hz Schumann Resonance, inching us towards the 4th dimension? Stimulants ingested globally from caffeine genetically-modified plants, may also produce an impact on the 'global-brain' in the ionosphere collecting our  brainwaves. New-age channellers say we are going into 4th dimensional frequency. They 'heard' the voice of some 'ET' who told them.

However, some 'ETs' may be local boys. Voices in the head were produced in prisoners in Utah prisons using Tesla technology. Each of the prisoners received the same message from an 'ET'. Today, it seems, it's easy to produce 'voices in the head' without implants.

A prisoner called David Fratus in Draper Prison, Utah in 1988 wrote:

"I began to receive, or hear, high-frequency tones in my ears. When I plug my ears..the tones are still inside and become amplified. It's as if they had become electrified echo chambers with the sounds coming from the inside out..I began to hear voices..into my inner ears as vivid as though I were listening to a set of stereo headphones..with the end result being that I am now having my brain monitored by an omnipotent computerized mind reading or scanning machine of some sort "

Hundreds of inmates at the Gunnison Facility of the Utah State Prison, and the State Hospital were subject to this brand of mind-control in order to test it. In the early 1970s, this was brought out in the Utah U.S. District Court, because inmates who had been subjected to this Tesla-wave mind-control in prison had tried unsuccessfully to fight back in court.  The University of Utah researched how Tesla-waves could be used to manipulate the mind into hearing voices, overriding and implanting thoughts into the mind, and reading the thoughts, as well as developing eye-implants.

Tracking
Cray computers, using artificial-intelligence, monitor the victims of government implants sending pre-recorded sound-bytes or occasional live messages. They are picked up by satellite and relayed to whatever large TV broadcasting antenna, GWEN tower or other microwave antenna is near the victim. It's believed that some type of body implants pick up the signal and broadcast the correct Tesla-wave pattern to create voices within the victim.

The tracking implant keeps the staff and the satellite system informed every few minutes as to exactly where to send the voice signals. The master computer and central HQ for this is reported to be in Boulder, CO. It is thought that transponders are being made there as well. The central cellular computer is in the Boulder, CO National Bureau of Standards building.  AT&T is also cooperating in this project. Several government agencies work together on this.

Tim Rifat of UK wrote that

"this inter-cerebral hearing is used to drive the victim mad, as no one else can hear the voices transmitted into the brain of the target. Transmission of auditory data directly into the target's brains using microwave carrier beams is now common practice.  Instead of using excitation potentials, one uses a transducer to modify the spoken word into ELF audiograms, that are then superimposed on a pulse modulated microwave beam."

The Sydney Morning Herald on 21 March 1983 published an article by Dr Nassim Abd El-Aziz Neweigy, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Agriculture, Moshtohor Tukh-Kalubia, Egypt. It stated:

"Russian satellites, controlled by advanced computers, can send voices in one's own language interweaving into natural thoughts to the population of choice to form diffused artificial thought. The chemistry and electricity of the human brain can be manipulated by satellite and even suicide can be induced. Through ferocious anti-humanitarian means, the extremist groups are fabricated, the troubles and bloody disturbances are instigated by advanced tele-means via Russian satellites, in many countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America."

Another source says that these have been fed with the world's languages and synthetic telepathy will reach into people's heads making people believe God is speaking to them personally to enact the Second Coming, complete with holograms! The Russians broke the genetic code of the human brain. They worked out 23 EEG band-wave lengths, 11 of which were totally independent. So if you can manipulate those 11, you can do anything.

NSA Cray computers can remotely track people just knowing the specific EMF waves (evoked potentials from EEGs in the 30-50 Hz, 5 milliwatt range) of a person's bioelectric-field. Each person's emissions are unique and they can remotely track someone in public.

Maxwell's 'Hidden' Etheric Component
Evoked-potentials officially don't exist in physics, but in 1873 a Scotsman, James Clerk Maxwell, discovered electromagnetic waves have 3 components:

He discovered waveforms which exist at a certain number of right-angled rotations away from the electromagnetic-field. These are hyperspacial components, not subject to constraints of time and space. He claimed that electromagnetic-radiation waves were carried by the ether and the ether was disturbed by magnetic lines of force. The hidden component is called only 'potential' now and not normally used except for covert hyperdimensional physics and to manipulate consciousness itself via electromagnetic-waves covering vast areas of the planet.

Approx. one person in 3000 is naturally sensitive to this magnetic-waveform component, the telepathic types (according to a writer called "Majix"), but we are all capable of tuning into this magnetic component by tuning our subconscious to it. Maxwell's successors thought potentials were akin to mysticism, because they believed fields contain mass which cannot be created from apparently nothing, which is what potentials are, both literally and mathematically - they are an accumulation or reservoir of energy; but this hasn't been taught in mainstream physics.

Thought Control
Subliminal words in the correct electromagnetic-field that expresses human consciousness, attuned to the human brain, can enter our minds at a subconscious level. Our brain activity patterns can apparently be measured and stored on computer by super-computers. If a victim needs subliminal-thoughts implanted, all that is necessary is to capture, save on computer, and target the person's brainwave pattern to send them such low frequency subliminal-messages that they actually think it is their own thoughts [confirmed by Al Bielek and Preston Nichols with the Montauk Project in Long Island]. The researcher Majix says our brains are so sensitive that they are like liquid-crystal in response to the magnetic component of the earth.

We are sensitive to earth's magnetic changes, changes in the ionospheric cavity and re-resonate those frequencies ourselves. We are incredibly complex, beyond comprehension and a type of biocosmic transducer. He adds:

"Physicists in Russia correlate the mean annual magnetic-activity, electro-magnetic and electro-static fields on human behavior and medical indications.They are similar to biorhythms.These magnetic frequencies can be manipulated. Our brain waves can mimic magnetic frequencies from very simple equipment at extremely low power levels. From half a second to 4 seconds later, the neurons and brainwaves are driven exclusively by the device, with power levels almost nonexistent. All one needs is a circularly polarized antenna aimed up at the ionospheric cavity and they can manipulate the moods of everyone within a 75 sq. mile area. The body picks up these  "new" manipulated waves and begins to correspond immediately.  "Sleep" frequency will make everyone become tired and sleep."

In 1967, an "internationally renowned scientist" and Christopher Hills, a pendulum expert, communicated with some ETs. (It is not known who the scientist was, but at one time both Hills and Puharich were with the medium Eileen Garrett at a time when Puharich was communicating with ETs.)

In short, ETs communicated with us via modulated radio-waves, between 10,000 and 20,000 cycles below the known electromagnetic-spectrum. In the carrier-wave by amplitude modulation, mixed with frequency modulation. Single band energy, transmission power less than 25 watts. A naturally present wave on earth, the brain modulated - a wave that resonates between the earth and the ionosphere. All humans influence the ionosphere in this manner. A reflecting technique is involved. The brain modulation consisted of pulses, akin to those known from neuro pulses. Two humans can use this. It's related to something akin to low frequency radar and to ultrasonic techniques, but qualified. A mixed electro-acoustic wave function. The  electromagnetic-wave induced an ultrasonic transduction in human tissue. The brain radiation has a sonic component to it as well as an electromagnetic component. Electromagnetic-radiation has a sonic component and it's dependent on the medium through which it travels.

The scientist cut through months of work. Now HAARP is slicing up the ionosphere, the world-brain, like a microwave knife, producing long tear incisions destroying the membrane which holds the reservoir of data accumulated by all earth's history. A healer called Mr. "A" claimed to receive "Ancient Wisdom" from this protective Magnetic-Ring of energy which stores within it all knowledge since time began. Ruth Mongomery  wrote about him in Born To Heal.

He claimed that if our energy flow is cut off from this magnetic-field, the Universal-Supply is obstructed and we are no longer in tune and start to get sick. The Power from this travels in split-seconds around the world and is available to anyone who is capable of receiving it and handling it. The waves from The Ring automatically translated into words in his mind, as wisdom to diagnose and heal others, coming from the storehouse of knowledge here since the beginning of time. He produced instant  miracles, knitting broken bones and removing arthritis. A photo caught forked lightning coming from his fingers.

 In Let's Talk MONTAUK, Joyce Murphy shows that experiments on the 410-420 MHz cycle have been done which could affect the "window frequency to the human consciousness" as a whole:

 "He (Preston Nichols) used his..radio equipment to learn that whenever a 410-420 MHz signal appeared on the air, the psychic's minds would be  "jammed." Tracing the signal to Montauk Point and the red and white radar antenna on the Air Force Base.."

 "Dr. Nicholas Begich has picked up 435 MHz signals connected to HAARP and that a mind control function is being employed. He says that 400-450 MHz is the window to human consciousness because it is our reality's background frequency."

 Tim Rifat wrote in his Microwave Mind Control in the UK article http://www.brazilboycott.org/   that cellular phones use 435 MHz.  UK police use 450 MHz exclusively. Dr. Ross Adey used this for CIA behavioral modification experiments. Police have a vast array of antennae to broadcast this frequency all over the UK. Adey used 0.75mW/cm2 intensity of pulse modulate microwave at a frequency of 450 MHz, with an ELF modulation to control all aspects of human behavior. 450 MHZ radar modulated at 60 Hz greatly reduced T-lymphocyte activity to kill cultured cancer cells. A study of  USA 60 Hz power lines repeated this finding.

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the history of The Nine is its relationship to the career of Andrija Puharich. Recent research has revealed Puharich to have a distinctly sinister side.  As an Army doctor in the 1950s, he was deeply involved with the CIA's notorious MKULTRA mind control project (see panel). He - together with the infamous Dr Sidney Gottlieb - experimented with a variety of techniques to change or induce actual thought processes. even to creating the impression of voices in the head. These techniques included the use of drugs, hypnosis and beaming radio signals directly into the subject's brain. And, significantly, he was engaged in this work at exactly the same time that The Nine made their first appearance at the Round Table Foundation. The Foundation itself is now known to have been largely funded by the Pentagon as a front for its medical and parapsychological research. Puharich was still working for the CIA in the early 1970s, when he brought Uri Geller out of Israel. Puharich's use of hypnosis is particularly interesting in The Nine circle. In the case of Uri Geller and Bobby Horne, he first hypnotised them and then suggested that they were in touch with The Nine - and lo, they were! Ira Einhorn - a close associate of Puharich's during the 1970s - confirmed to us that he believed that Puharich was "humanly directing" The Nine communications.

Subliminal acoustic manipulation of nervous systems
Abstract

In human subjects, sensory resonances can be excited by subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses that are tuned to the resonance frequency. The 1/2 Hz sensory resonance affects the autonomic nervous system and may cause relaxation, drowsiness, or sexual excitement, depending on the precise acoustic frequency near 1/2 Hz used. The effects of the 2.5 Hz resonance include slowing of certain cortical processes, sleepiness, and disorientation. For these effects to occur, the acoustic intensity must lie in a certain deeply subliminal range. Suitable apparatus consists of a portable battery-powered source of weak subaudio acoustic radiation. The method and apparatus can be used by the general public as an aid to relaxation, sleep, or sexual arousal, and clinically for the control and perhaps treatment of insomnia, tremors, epileptic seizures, and anxiety disorders. There is further application as a nonlethal weapon that can be used in law enforcement standoff situations, for causing drowsiness and disorientation in targeted subjects. It is then preferable to use venting acoustic monopoles in the form of a device that inhales and exhales air with subaudio frequency.

Claims
I claim:

1. Apparatus for manipulating the nervous system of a subject, the subject having an ear, comprising:

generator means for generating voltage pulses;

induction means, connected to the generator means and responsive to the voltage pulses, for inducing at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz.

2. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising means for automatically controlling the voltage pulses.

3. The apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising means for monitoring the voltage pulses.

4. The apparatus according to claim 1, for exciting in the subject a sensory resonance that occurs at a resonance frequency less than 15 Hz, the apparatus further comprising tuning means for enabling a user to tune the pulse frequency to the resonance frequency.

5. The apparatus according to claim 4, further including a casing for containing the generator means, the induction means and the tuning means.

6. The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said induction means comprise:

means for generating in the atmosphere a gas jet, the latter having a momentum flux; and

modulation means, connected to the generator means and responsive to said voltage pulses, for pulsing the momentum flux with a frequency less than 15 Hz;

whereby subaudio acoustic pulses are induced in the atmosphere.

7. Apparatus for manipulating the nervous system of a subject, the subject having an ear, comprising:

generator means for generating voltage pulses;

a source of gas at a pressure different from the ambient atmospheric pressure;

a conduit having an orifice open to the atmosphere for passing a gaseous flux;

valve means, connected to the source of gas and the conduit to control the gaseous flux;

means, connected to the generator means and responsive to said voltage pulses, for operating the valve means to provide an oscillation of the gaseous flux with a frequency less than 15 Hz.

8. The apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising vessel means for smoothing fluctuations of the gaseous flux caused by fluctuations in the pressure of the source of gas.

9. A method for manipulating the nervous system of a subject, the subject having an ear, comprising the steps of:

generating voltage pulses; and

inducing, in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses, at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz.

10. The method according to claim 9, for exciting in the subject a sensory resonance that occurs at a resonance frequency less than 15 Hz, further comprising the step of tuning the pulse frequency to the resonance frequency.

11. The method according to claim 9, wherein said inducing comprises the steps of:

generating in the atmosphere a gas jet, the latter having a momentum flux; and

modulating the momentum flux in pulse-wise fashion in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses.

12. The method according to claim 11, further comprising the step of directing the gas jet at a material surface.

13. The method according to claim 9, wherein said inducing comprises the steps of:

generating a gas flow through a conduit orifice that is open to the atmosphere; and

modulating the gas flow to produce flow pulsations, in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses.

14. A method for remotely manipulating the nervous system of a subject in the course of law enforcement in a standoff situation, the subject having an ear, comprising the steps of:

generating voltage pulses;

generating, in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses, atmospheric acoustic signals at a plurality of locations remote from the subject for inducing at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz, the signals having phase differences with respect to each other arranged to cause constructive acoustic wave interference at the subject.

15. A method for exciting in a subject a sensory resonance having a resonance frequency less than 15 Hz, the subject having an ear, comprising the steps of:

generating voltage pulses;

inducing, in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses, at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz;

tuning the pulse frequency to the resonance frequency; and also

inducing audible audio-frequency atmospheric acoustic signals at the ear.

16. A method for controlling in a subject neurological disorders that involve pathological oscillatory activity of neural circuits, the subject having an ear, comprising the steps of:

generating voltage pulses;

inducing, in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses, at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz; and

arranging said pulse frequency to detune the pathological oscillatory activity.

17. A method for controlling in a subject epileptic seizures, the subject having an ear, comprising the steps of:

generating voltage pulses;

inducing in a manner responsive to the voltage pulses, at the ear subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with a pulse frequency less than 15 Hz; and

initiating said inducing when a seizure precursor is felt by the subject.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The central nervous system can be manipulated via sensory pathways. Of interest here is a resonance method wherein periodic sensory stimulation evokes a physiological response that peaks at certain stimulus frequencies. This occurs for instance when rocking a baby, which typically provides relaxation at frequencies near 1/2 Hz. The peaking of the physiological response versus frequency suggests that one is dealing here with a resonance mechanism, wherein the periodic sensory signals evoke an excitation of oscillatory modes in certain neural circuits. The sensory pathway involved in the rocking example is the vestibular nerve. However, a similar relaxing response at much the same frequencies can be obtained by gently stroking a child’s hair, or by administering weak heat pulses to the skin, as discussed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,800,481, Sep. 1, 1998. These three types of stimulation involve different sensory modalities, but the similarity in responses and effective frequencies suggests that the resonant neural circuitry is the same. Apparently, the resonance can be excited either via vestibular pathways or via cutaneous sensory pathways that carry tactile or temperature information.

Near 2.5 Hz another sensory resonance has been found that can be excited by weak heat pulses induced in the skin, as discussed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,800,481, Sep. 1, 1998. This sensory resonance brings on a slowing of certain cortical functions, as indicated by a pronounced increase in the time needed to silently count backward from 100 to 70 with the eyes closed. The effect is sharply dependent on frequency, as shown by a response peak a mere 0.13 Hz wide. The thermally excited 2.5 Hz resonance was found to also cause sleepiness, and after long exposure, dizziness and disorientation.

Other, more obscure types of stimulation in the form of weak magnetic fields or weak external electric fields can also cause the excitation of sensory resonances, as

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Experiments have shown that atmospheric acoustic stimulation of deeply subliminal intensity can excite in a human subject the sensory resonances near 1/2 Hz and 2.5 Hz. The 1/2 Hz resonance is characterized by ptosis of the eyelids, relaxation, drowsiness, a tonic smile, tenseness, or sexual excitement, depending on the precise acoustic frequency near 1/2 Hz that is used. The observable effects of the 2.5 Hz resonance include a slowing of certain cortical functions, sleepiness, and, after long exposure, dizziness and disorientation. The finding that these sensory resonances can be excited by atmospheric acoustic signals of deeply subliminal intensity opens the way to an apparatus and method for acoustic manipulation of a subject’s nervous system, wherein weak acoustic pulses are induced in the atmosphere at the subject’s ears, and the pulse frequency is tuned to the resonance frequency of the selected sensory resonance. The method can be used by the general public for control of insomnia and anxiety, and for facilitation of relaxation and sexual arousal. Clinical use of the method includes the control and perhaps a treatment of anxiety disorders, tremors, and seizures. A suitable embodiment for these applications is a small portable battery-powered subaudio acoustic radiator which can be tuned to the resonance frequency of the selected sensory resonance.

There is an embodiment suitable for law enforcement operations in which a subject’s nervous system is manipulated from a considerable distance, as in a standoff situation. Subliminal subaudio acoustic pulses at the subject’s location may then be induced by acoustic waves radiating from a venting acoustic monopole, or by a pulsed air jet, especially when aimed at the subject or at another material surface, where the jet velocity fluctuations are wholly or partly converted into static pressure fluctuations.

The described physiological effects occur only if the intensity of the acoustic stimulation falls in a certain range, called the effective intensity window. This window has been measured in exploratory fashion for the 2.5 Hz resonance.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

It has been found in our laboratory that deeply subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses with frequency near 1/2 Hz can evoke in a human subject a nervous system response that includes ptosis of the eyelids, relaxation, drowsiness, the feeling of pressure at a centered spot on the brow, seeing moving patterns of dark purple and greenish yellow with the eyes closed, a soft warm feeling in the stomach, a tonic smile, a “knot” in the stomach, sudden loose stool, and sexual excitement, depending on the precise acoustic frequency used. These responses show that this sensory resonance involves the autonomic nervous system.

The sharp peaking of the physiological effects with frequency is suggestive of a resonance mechanism, wherein the acoustic stimulation, although subliminal, causes excitation of a resonance in certain neural circuits. Since the frequencies and responses are similar to those for the 1/2 Hz sensory resonance discussed in the Background Section, it appears that the resonance excited by the described acoustic stimulation is indeed the 1/2 Hz sensory resonance. It has been found that the 2.5 Hz sensory resonance can be excited acoustically as well. This sensory resonance causes the slowing of certain cortical processes, sleepiness, and eventually dizziness and disorientation.

One can avoid the described physiological responses by wearing snugly fitting ear plugs. This shows that the excitation occurs via the external ear canal, so that the stimulation proceeds either through the auditory nerve or the vestibular nerve. Frequencies near 1/2 Hz or 2.5 Hz are far too low for stimulating the cochlear apparatus, but they are within the response range of hair cells in the vestibular end organ. Also, there exists a low-frequency acoustic path to the vestibular end organ by virtue of the ductus reuniens which provides a fluid connection between the cochlea and the vestibular organ. The narrow duct severely attenuates acoustic signals and acts as a low pass filter with a very low cutoff frequency. Subaudio acoustic signals, i.e., acoustic signals with frequencies up to 15 Hz, may perhaps penetrate to the vestibular organ with sufficient strength for stimulating the exquisitely sensitive vestibular hair cells.

For the 1/2 Hz and 2.5 Hz resonances, the described physiological responses are observed only if the acoustic intensity lies in a certain interval, called the effective intensity window. The acoustic intensity levels in this window are far below the human auditory threshold, so that exposed subjects do not sense the acoustic pulses in any other way than through the mentioned physiological effects. The upper limit of the effective intensity window is believed to be due to nuisance-guarding neural circuitry that blocks repeditive nuisance signals from higher processing.

The acoustic signals used for the excitation of sensory resonances have the nature of pulses. The pulses may be square, trapezoid, or triangle, or rounded versions of these shapes. However, depending on the pulse frequency, strong harmonics with frequencies in the audible range could stimulate the cochlear apparatus. This may be avoided by using sine waves or appropriately rounded other waves with low harmonic content.

The acoustic pulses occur in the atmosphere air; even when administered with earphones, the pulses at the subject’s ear constitute pressure and flow pulses in the local atmospheric air.

The resonance frequencies of the 1/2 Hz and 2.5 Hz sensory resonances lie respectively near 1/2 and 2.5 Hz. The different physiological effects mentioned occur at slightly different frequencies. Thus, one can tune for drowsiness or sexual excitement, as desired. The precise resonance frequency is also expected to depend slightly on the subject and the state of the nervous and endocrine systems, but it can be measured readily by tuning the acoustic pulse frequency for maximum physiological effect. Besides the resonances near 1/2 and 2.5 Hz, other sensory resonances may perhaps be found, and those with resonance frequencies below 15 Hz are expected to be excitable acoustically via the vestibular nerve, since the vestibular hair cells are sensitive in this frequency range.

The finding that deeply subliminal subaudio acoustic stimulation can influence the central nervous system suggests a method and apparatus for manipulating the nervous system of a subject by inducing subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses of subaudio frequency at the subject’s ears. In doing so, one may in addition exploit the sensory resonance mechanism, but there are important applications where this is not done. For example, the subliminal acoustic manipulation of the nervous system may be used clinically for the control of tremors and seizures, by detuning the pathological oscillatory activity of neural circuits that occurs in these disorders. This may be done by choosing an acoustic frequency that is slightly different from the frequency of the pathological oscillation. The evoked neural signals then cause phase shifts which may diminish or quench the oscillation. Exploitation of the resonance mechanism by tuning the acoustic signals to the resonance frequency of a selected sensory resonance affords other forms of manipulation, such as control of insomnia and anxiety, or facilitation of sexual arousal.

For both types of manipulation, the required subliminal subaudio acoustic pulses may be induced at one or both of the subject’s ears by earphones with a proper low-frequency response, acoustic waves generated by an acoustic source and propagated through the atmosphere, or by a pulsed jet of gas (which may be air), preferably directed at a material surface open to the atmosphere, such as a wall or the subject’s skin or clothing. In the area of impact, especially where the surface is oriented substantially perpendicular to the jet, atmospheric pressure pulses are then generated by virtue of the ram effect, wherein flow velocity fluctuations are wholly or partly converted into static pressure fluctuations. If the material surface on which the jet impinges includes the subject’s ears, then these pressure pulses cause direct stimulation of the subject, but the pulses also propagate through the atmosphere to the subject’s ears by virtue of acoustic wave propagation along accessible paths.

The induction of atmospheric acoustic pulses by a pulsed air jet proceeding in the atmosphere and directed at a subject is shown in FIG. 1, where a blower 1, labeled “FAN”, produces an air jet 2 that is directed at a subject 3. The fan is powered by a power supply 4, labelled “SUPPLY”. At the fan, the supply voltage is modulated in pulsed fashion by a relay 5 controlled by the generator 6, labelled “GENERATOR”, through voltage pulses 7 supplied to electromagnet windings 8. A user can adjust the frequency of the pulses with the tuning control 9. The pulsing of the voltage supplied to the fan causes the momentum flux 10 of the air jet to be modulated in a pulsed manner. Upon impinging on a material surface such as the skin of the subject 3, the pulsed jet induces acoustic pressure pulses at the ears 11 of the subject. The atmospheric acoustic effect of the jet is complicated by the fact that the region of the fan inlet undergoes a fluctuation of static pressure as the result of the modulation of jet momentum flux. There thus are two distinct acoustic monopoles, one at the fan inlet and the other in the area of impact of the jet on the material surface. The monopoles radiate with a phase difference that is determined by the jet velocity, the modulation frequency, and the distance between fan and impact area. The resulting sound pressure at the subject’s ears can be analyzed with retarded potentials as discussed for instance by Morse and Feshbach (1953). Even a jet which does not impinge on a material surface radiates by virtue of the acoustic monopole at the fan inlet.

When skin of the subject is exposed to gas flow of the jet, or to the flow of atmospheric air entrained by the jet, the flow will fluctuate in pulsed fashion, so that a periodic heat flux occurs by convective transport and evaporation of sweat. The resulting periodic fluctuation of the skin temperature can excite a sensory resonance, as discussed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,800,481, Sep. 1, 1998. Hence, the apparatus of FIG. 1 can cause excitation of a sensory resonance via two separate sensory pathways, viz., the vestibular nerve and the afferents from cutaneous temperature receptors. The strength of the thermal stimulation depends on the skin area and type of skin exposed to the fluctuating flow. The face is particularly sensitive, especially the lips. The two-channel excitation of sensory resonances needs further investigation. In any particular situation, the vestibular channel can be blocked by using earplugs.

An air jet with pulsed momentum flux can also be obtained as illustrated in FIG. 2. Shown is a fan 1, labelled “FAN”, which discharges into manifold 12. The air flow in the manifold can be partially obstructed by a sheet valve 13 in the form of a perforated cylindrical sheet. The sheet valve carries a voice coil 14 which is situated in the field of a permanent magnet 15, in the manner of conventional electromagnetic loudspeakers. When no current flows through the voice coil, the sheet valve is held in equilibrium position by springs 16. In this position, the perforation 17 in the sheet is lined up with the flow passage allowing essentially unimpeded flow through the manifold and out the exit 18, such as to form a jet 19 in the atmosphere. Sending a current pulse through the voice coil 14 causes the sheet valve to be displayed in the axial direction, thereby partially obstructing the air flow through the manifold. Owing to the low inertia of the sheet valve, the arrangement allows efficient pulse modulation of the jet momentum flux.

A somewhat different modulation system can be obtained with a rotating cylindrical sheet valve that has one or more holes along its periphery, and which is adjacent to a stationary cylindrical shroud that has corresponding holes, so that rotation of the valve causes modulation of the air flow through the holes. The valve is rotated by a stepper motor driven by voltage pulses. The latter are obtained from a generator that is controlled by a tuner.

One can also use direct acoustic wave propagation for inducing the required atmospheric acoustic pulses. It is then advantageous to employ as the source of the waves an acoustic monopole, since for these the acoustic pressure does not fall off as fast with increasing distance as for dipoles. Moreover, at the very low frequencies involved, acoustic pressure shorting across a conventional loudspeaker baffle is very severe. A sealed loudspeaker mounted in an airtight box eliminates this pressure shorting, and radiates acoustic waves with a relatively large monopole component.

An acoustic monopole may also be produced by having a source of pressurized gas vent through an orifice into the atmosphere in a pulsed fashion. The gas may be air. Alternatively, one may have a source of low-pressure air inhale atmospheric air through an orifice in pulsed fashion. These actions are easily achieved by an oscillating or rotating valve. For purposes of discussion it is convenient to introduce the concept of gaseous flux through the orifice, defined as the integral of the normal flow velocity component over an imagined surface that tightly caps the orifice, the normal component being perpendicular to the local surface element, and reckoned positive if the flow is directed into the ambient atmosphere. The gaseous flux has the dimension of m.sup.3 /s. For the case with a source of pressurized gas, the gaseous flux is positive and due to gas venting to the atmosphere. For the case with a source of vacuum, the gaseous flux is negative and due to atmospheric air entering the orifice. The strength of the acoustic monopole is expressed as the amplitude of the gaseous flux fluctuation, amplitude being defined as half the peak-to-peak variation. The concept of gaseous flux allows a unified discussion of venting acoustic monopoles that use a source of pressurized gas or a source of vacuum, or both.

The source of pressurized air could be a cylinder with pressurized gas, such as a CO.sub.2 cartridge. For personal use, such a cartridge may last a long time because only very small acoustic monopole strengths are needed for the induction of the required weak acoustic signals. For long term and long range operation, the exhaust port of an air pump may serve as a source of pressurized air, and the intake port could be used as a source of vacuum.

A simple venting acoustic monopole is shown in FIG. 12, where the source 63 of pressurized gas, which may be air, is connected to a conduit 69 which has an orifice 65 that is open to the atmosphere. A rotating valve 66 labelled “VALVE” controls the gaseous flux through the orifice. The valve is rotated by a stepper motor 67 labelled “MOTOR”, driven by voltage pulses from the generator 68 labelled “GENERATOR”. The motor speed is determined by the frequency of the voltage pulses. This frequency can be selected by the tuner 70, which therefore controls the frequency of the acoustic pulses emited by the orifice 65. For the simple orifice shown, boundary layer separation may occur in the outflow, so that the air pulses emerge in the form of jets. This causes dipole and higher multipole components in the radiated acoustic field. If desired, such radiation components can be avoided or diminished by placing a spherically or dome shaped fine mesh screen over the orifice 65. Instead of holding pressurized gas, the source 63 may hold a vacuum. In either case, the pulsing of the gaseous flux causes radiation of monopole-type acoustic waves. The source 63 may be replenished by a pump.

Push-pull operation can be achieved in the manner shown in FIG. 3. An air pump 20, labelled “PUMP”, with flow ports 64, pressurizes the pressure vessel 21 while drawing a vacuum in the vacuum vessel 22. A valve 23 is operated by the solenoid 24 such as to alternately admit high and low pressure air to the conduit 26. The latter vents to the atmosphere through a screen 55 placed across an orifice 27 that is open to the atmosphere. The valve is controlled by an oscillator consisting of the solenoid 24, which is connected to the pulse generator 6, labelled “GENERATOR”. The frequency of the electric current pulses through the solenoid is determined by the setting of the tuning control 9. This frequency is to be tuned to the resonance frequency of the sensory resonance that is to be excited. The tuning may be done manually by a user. The conduit 26 is structured as a diffuser in order to avoid boundary layer separation during the exhaust phase; the screen across the orifice 27 inhibits formation of a jet, thereby providing more nearly for a monopole type acoustic wave. During the intake phase the orifice acts as a sink; streamlines 28 of the resulting flow are illustrated. The vessels 21 and 22 smooth the flow fluctuations through the orifice that are due to the flow fluctuations through the pump; they are drawn at a relatively small scale for compactness sake. Instead of the oscillating valve 23, a rotating valve may be used, driven by a stepper motor powered by voltage pulses from a generator.

Conventional loudspeakers may be used as well as the source of acoustic radiation. An example is shown in FIG. 4, where the piezoelectric transducer 37 is driven by a simple battery-powered pulse generator built around two RC timers 30 and 31. Timer 30 (Intersil ICM7555, for instance) is hooked up for astable operation; it produces a square wave voltage with a frequency determined by capacitor 33 and the potentiometer 32, which serves as a tuner that may be operated by a user. The square wave voltage at output 34 drives the LED 35, and appears at one of the output terminals 36, after voltage division by potentiometer 71. The other output is connected to the negative supply. The output terminals 36 are connected to the piezoelectric speaker. Automatic shutoff of the voltage that powers the timer 30 at point 38 is provided by a second timer 31, hooked up for monostable operation. Shutoff occurs after a time interval determined by resistor 39 and capacitor 40. Timer 31 is powered by a 9 Volt battery 41, via a switch 42. Optional rounding of the square wave is done by an RC circuit consisting of a resistor 43 and capacitor 44. An optional airtight enclosure 29 may be used for the speaker 37, in order to enhance the monopole component of the radiated acoustic signal. Instead of a piezoelectric speaker one may use an electromagnetic loudspeaker with a voice coil. Because of the low impedance of the voice coil, a resistor must then be included in the output circuitry in order to keep the output currents to low values such as to allow battery powering of the device. Small voice coil currents are sufficient for the low acoustic powers required.

Low pulse frequencies can be monitored with the LED 35 of FIG. 3. The LED blinks on and off with the square wave, and it doubles as a power indicator. The pulse frequency can be determined by reading a clock and counting the LED light pulses. For higher frequencies a monitoring LED can still be used, if it is driven by a signal obtained by frequency division of the generator signal.

The automatic shutoff described above is an example for automatic control of the generated voltage; more sophisticated forms of control involve automatic frequency sequences. A computer that runs a simple timing program can be used for the generation of all sorts of square waves that can be made available at a computer port. An economic and compact version of such arrangement is provided by the Basic Stamp manufactured by Parallax Inc, Rocklin, Calif., which has an onboard EEPROM that can be programmed for the automatic control of the generated pulses, such as to provide desired on/off times, frequency schedules, or chaotic waves. The square waves can be rounded by RC circuits, and further smoothed by integration and filtering.

A compact packaging of the device such as shown of FIG. 4 is depicted in FIG. 5 where all circuit parts and the speaker, piezoelectric or voice-coil type, are contained in a small casing 62. Shown are the speaker 37, labelled “SPEAKER”, driven by the generator 6, labeled “GENERATOR”, with tuning control 9, LED 35, battery 41, and power switch 42. The LED doubles as a mark for the tuning control dial. With the circuit of FIG. 4, the device draws so little current that it can be used for several months as a sleeping aid, with a single 9 Volt battery.

For the purpose of thwarting habituation to the stimulation, irregular features may be introduced in the pulse train, such as small short-term variations of frequency of a chaotic or stochastic nature. Such chaotic or stochastic acoustic pulses can cause excitation of a sensory resonance, provided that the average pulse frequency is close to the appropriate sensory resonance frequency. A chaotic square wave can be generated simply by cross coupling of two timers. FIG. 6 shows such a hookup, where timers 72 and 73, each labeled “TIMER”, have their output pins 74 and 75 connected crosswise to each other’s control voltage pins 76 and 77, via resistors 78 and 79. The control voltage pins 76 and 75 have capacitors 80 and 81 to ground. If the timers are hooked up for astable operation with slightly different frequencies, and appropriate values are chosen for the coupling resistors and capacitors, the output of either timer is a chaotic square wave with an oval attractor. Example circuit parameters are: R.sub.78 =440K.OMEGA., R.sub.79 =700K.OMEGA., C.sub.80 =4.7 .mu.F, C.sub.81 =4.7 .mu.F, with (RC).sub.72 =0.83 s and (RC).sub.73 =1.1 s. For these parameters, the output 74 of timer 72 is a chaotic square wave with a power spectrum that has large peaks at 0.46 Hz and 0.59 Hz. The resulting chaotic wave is suitable for the excitation of the 1/2 Hz resonance.

A complex wave may be used for the joint excitation of two different sensory resonances. A simple generator of a complex wave, suitable for the joint excitation of the 1/2 Hz autonomic resonance and the 2.5 Hz cortical resonance, is shown in FIG. 7. Timers 82 and 83 are arranged to produce square waves of frequencies f.sub.1 and f.sub.2 respectively, where f.sub.1 is near 2.5 Hz, and f.sub.2 is near 1/2 Hz. The outputs 84 and 85 of the timers are connected to the inputs of an AND gate 86. The output 87 of the AND gate features a square wave of frequency f.sub.1, amplitude modulated by a square wave of frequency f.sub.2, as indicated by the pulse train 88.

The very low frequency waves needed for the acoustic stimulation of the vestibular nerve may also be provided by a sound system in which weak subaudio pulses are added to audible audio program material. This may be done in the customary manner way of adding the currents from these signals at the inverting input of an operational amplifier. The amplitude of the pulses is chosen such that the strength of the resulting acoustic pulses lies in the effective intensity window. Experiments in our laboratory have shown that the presence of audible signals, such as music or speech, does not interfere with the excitation of sensory resonances.

The invention can also be implemented as a sound tape or CD ROM which contains audible audio program material together with subliminal subaudio signals. The recording can be done by mixing the audio and subaudio signals in the usual manner. In choosing the subaudio signal level, one must compensate for the poor frequency response of the recorder and the electronics, at the ultra low subaudio frequencies used.

The pathological oscillatory neural activity involved in epileptic seizures and Parkinson’s disease is influenced by the chemical milieu of the neural circuitry involved. Since the excitation of a sensory resonance may cause a shift in chemical milieu, the pathological oscillatory activity may be influenced by the resonance. Therefore, the acoustic excitation discussed may be useful for control and perhaps treatment of tremors and seizures. Frequent use of such control may afford a treatment of the disorders by virtue of facilitation and classical conditioning.

In this as well as in the detuning method discussed before, an epileptic patient can switch on the acoustic stimulation upon sensing a seizure precursor.

Since the autonomic nervous system is influenced by the 1/2 sensory resonance, the acoustic excitation of the resonance may be used for the control and perhaps the treatment of anxiety disorders.

The invention can be embodied as a nonlethal weapon that remotely induces disorientation and other discomfort in targeted subjects. Large acoustic power can be obtained easily with acoustic monopoles of the type depicted in FIG. 3 or FIG. 12. If considerable distance needs to be maintained to the subject, as in a law enforcement standoff situation illustrated in FIG. 8, several monopoles can be used, and it then may become important to have phase differences between the acoustic signals of the individual monopoles arranged in such a manner as to maximize the amplitude of the resultant acoustic signal at the location 52 of the subject. Shown are four squad cars 53, each equiped with an acoustic monopole capable of generating atmospheric pulses of a frequency appropriate for the excitation of sensory resonances. The relative phases of the emitted pulses are arranged such as to compensate for differences of acoustic path lengths 54, such that the pulses arrive at the subject location 52 with substantially the same phase, resulting in constructive interference of the local acoustic waves. Such arrangement can be achieved easily by using radio signals between the monopole units, with the target distances either dialed in manually or measured automatically with a range finder. The subaudio acoustic signals can easily penetrate into a house through an open window, a chimney, or a crack under a closed door.

Some of our experiments on acoustic excitation of sensory resonances which provide a basis for the present invention will be discussed presently. Of all the responses to the excitation of the 1/2 Hz resonance, ptosis of the eyelids stands out for distinctness, ease of detection, and sensitivity. When voluntary control of the eyelids is relinquished, the eyelid position is determined by the relative activities of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. There are two ways in which ptosis can be used as an indicator that the autonomic system is being affected. In the first, the subject simply relaxes the control over the eyelids, and makes no effort to correct for any drooping. The more sensitive second method requires the subject to first close the eyes about half way. While holding this eyelid position, the eye are rolled upward, while giving up voluntary control of the eyelids. With the eyeballs turned up, ptosis will decrease the amount of light admitted to the eyes, and with full ptosis the light is completely cut off. The second method is very sensitive because the pressure excerted on the eyeballs by partially closed eyelids increases parasympathetic activity. As a result, the eyelid position becomes somewhat labile, exhibiting a slight flutter. The labile state is sensitive to small shifts in the activities of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. The method works best when the subject is lying flat on the back and is facing a moderately lit blank wall of light color.

The frequency at which ptosis is at a maximum is called the ptosis frequency. This frequency depends somewhat on the state of the nervous and endocrine systems, and it initially undergoes a downward drift, rapid at first and slowing over time. The ptosis frequency can be followed in its downward drift by manual frequency tracking aimed at keeping ptosis at a maximum. At a fixed frequency, the early ptosis can be maintained in approximately steady state by turning the acoustic stimulation off as soon as the ptosis starts to decrease, after which the ptosis goes through an increase followed by a decline. The acoustic stimulation is turned back on as soon as the decline is perceived, and the cycle is repeated.

At fixed frequencies near 1/2 Hz, the ptosis cycles slowly up and down with a period ranging upward from about 3 minutes, depending on the precise acoustic frequency used. The temporal behavior of the ptosis frequency is found to depend on the acoustic pulse intensity; the drift and cycle amplitude are smaller near the low end of the effective intensity window. This suggests that the drift and the cycling of the ptosis frequency is due to chemical modulation, wherein the chemical milieu of the neural circuits involved affects the resonance frequency of these circuits, while the milieu itself is influenced by the resonance in delayed fashion. Pertinent concentrations are affected by production, diffusion, and reuptake of the substances involved. Because of the rather long characteristic time of the ptosis frequency shift, as shown for instance by the cycle period lasting 3 minutes or longer, it is suspected that diffusion plays a rate-controlling role in the process.

The resonance frequencies for the different components of the 1/2 Hz sensory resonance have been measured, using acoustic sine waves with a sound pressure of 2.times.10.sup.-9 N/m.sup.2 at the subject’s left ear. Ptosis reached a steady state at a frequency of 0.545 Hz. Sexual excitement occurred at two frequencies, 0.530 Hz and 0.597 Hz, respectively below and above the steady-state ptosis frequency. For frequencies of 0.480 Hz and 0.527 Hz the subject fell asleep, whereas tenseness was experienced in the range from 0.600 to 0.617 Hz.

The resonance near 2.5 Hz may be detected as a pronounced increase in the time needed to silently count backward from 100 to 70, with the eyes closed. The counting is done with the “silent voice” which involves motor activation of the larynx appropriate to the numbers to be uttered, but without passage of air or movement of mouth muscles. The motor activation causes a feedback in the form of a visceral stress sensation in the larynx. Counting with the silent voice is different from merely thinking of the numbers, which does not produce a stress sensation, and is not a sensitive detector of the resonant state. The larynx stress feedback constitutes a visceral input into the brain and may thus influence the amplitude of the resonance. This unwanted influence is kept to a minimum by using the count sparingly in experiment runs. Since counting is a cortical process, the 2.5 Hz resonance is called a cortical sensory resonance, in distinction with the autonomic resonance that occurs near 1/2 Hz. In addition to affecting the silent counting, the 2.5 Hz resonance is expected to influence other cortical processes as well. It has also been found to have a sleep inducing effect. Very long exposures cause dizziness and disorientation. The frequency of 2.5 Hz raises concerns about kindling of epileptic seizures; therefore, the general public should not use the 2.5 Hz resonance unless this concern has been laid to rest through further experiments.

The sensitivity and numerical nature of the silent count makes it a very suitable detector of the 2.5 Hz sensory resonance. It therefore has been used for experiments of frequency response and effective intensity window. In these experiments, rounded square wave acoustic pulses were produced with a frequency that was slowly diminished by computer, and the subject’s 100-70 counting time was recorded for certain frequencies. The acoustic transducer was a small loudspeaker mounted in a sealed cabinet such as to provide acoustic monopole radiation. At fixed frequency, the acoustic monopole strenght in m.sup.3 /s varies linearly with the voice coil current, with a constant of proportionality that can be calculated from measured speaker dome excursions for given currents. The sound pressure level at the entrance of the subject’s nearest external ear canal can be expressed in terms of the acoustic monopole strength and the distance from the loudspeaker. For each experiment run, the sound pressure level at the entrance of the subject’s external ear canal can thus be calculated from the measured amplitude of the voice coil current and the pulse frequency. Since for the subaudio frequencies the distance from the acoustic radiator to the subject’s ear is much smaller than the wavelength of the sound, the near-field approximation was used in this calculation. The sound pressure level was expressed in dB relative to the reference sound pressure of 2.times.10.sup.-5 N/m.sup.2. This reference pressure is traditionally used in the context of human hearing, and it represents about the normal minimum human hearing threshold at 1.8 KHz.

FIG. 9 shows the result of experiment runs at sound pressure levels of -67, -61, -55, and -49 dB. Plotted are the subject’s 100-70 counting time versus pulse frequency in a narrow range near 2.5 Hz. Resonance is evident from the sharp peak 57 in the graph for the sound pressure level of -61 dB. The graphs also reveal the effective intensity window for the stimulation, as can be seen by comparing the magnitude of the peaks for the different sound pressure levels. For increasing intensity, the magnitude of the peak first increases but then decreases, and no significant peak shows up in the graph for the largest sound pressure of -49 dB; this can be seen better from the insert 58, which shows the graphs for -67 and -49 dB in a magnified scale. It follows that the effective intensity window extends approximately from -73 to -49 dB, in terms of the sound pressure level at the entrance of the subject’s external ear canal.

The physiological response to the 2.5 Hz acoustic stimulation can be avoided by wearing earplugs. FIG. 10 is a plot of the 100-70 counting time versus acoustic pulse frequency, with and without earplugs. The sound pressure level at the entrance of the subject’s external ear canal was -6 dB for both runs. Without earplugs the counting time has the peak 59, but no significant peak is seen in graph 60 for the run in which the subject used earplugs. Two conclusions can be reached from these results. First, in the experiments the 2.5 Hz resonance is essentially excited acoustically rather than through the magnetic field induced by the voice coil currents in the loudspeaker. Second, it follows that the exciting sound essentially propagates via the external ear canal, instead of through the skin and bones in the area of the ears, or via cutaneous mechanoreceptors in the skin at large.

To answer the question whether the acoustic excitation of the 2.5 Hz sensory resonance occurs perhaps through the cochlear nerve, one needs to consider the human auditory threshold curve such as shown, for instance, by Thomson (1967). The curve has a minimum near 1.8 KHz where the threshold sound pressure level is 0 dB, by definition. At 10 Hz the threshold is 105 dB. Hence, the pronounced acoustic excitation of the sensory resonance shown in FIG. 9 for a sound pressure level of -61 dB is 166 dB below the auditory threshold at 10 Hz. The excitation occurs near 2.5 Hz, and at that frequency, the auditory threshold is even higher than at 10 Hz. Although the curve in Thomson’s book does not go below 10 Hz, linear extrapolation suggests the estimate of 135 dB for the threshold at 2.5 Hz, bringing the sound pressure level that is effective for acoustic excitation of the sensory resonance to 196 dB below the estimated threshold at the frequency near 2.5 Hz used. This result all but rules out excitation via the cochlear nerve.

Chemical modulation may be the cause for the small frequency difference for peaks 57 and 59 in FIGS. 9 and 10, for the sound pressure level of -61 dB; these peaks occur respectively at 2.516 and 2.553 Hz.

The physiological response to the excitation of the sensory resonances at a fixed stimulus frequency is not immediate but builds over time. An example is shown in FIG. 11, where the graph 61 depicts the measured 100-70 time plotted versus elapsed time, upon application of acoustic pulses of 2.558 Hz frequency and a sound pressure level of -61 dB. The graph shows that the response is initially delayed over about 5 minutes; thereafter it increases, and at about 22 minutes the slope is seen to decrease somewhat. Other experiments have shown a counting time that eventually settles on a plateau, or even starts on a decline. Chemical modulation and habituation could account for these features. The response curve depends strongly on initial conditions.

The method is expected to be effective also on certain animals, and applications to animal control are therefore envisioned. The nervous system of mammals is similar to that of humans, so that the sensory resonances are expected to exist, albeit with different frequencies. Accordingly, in the present invention subjects are mammals.

The described method and apparatus can be used beneficially by the general public and in clinical work. Unfortunately however, there is the possibility of mischievous use as well. For instance, with small modifications the method of FIG. 1 can be employed to imperceptibly modulate the air flow in air conditioning or heating systems that serve a home, office building, or embassy, for covert manipulation of the nervous systems of occupants.

The invention is not limited by the embodiments shown in the drawings and described in the specification, which are given by way of example and not of limitation, but only in accordance with the scope of the appended claims.

Dr. Teller tried to sell Alaska on Project Plowshare, the use of six thermonuclear weapons to excavate a harbor at Cape Thompson, Alaska. In 1987 Teller returned to Alaska to propose the installation of a laser like weapon system on the North Slope of Alaska. The weapon system Teller was trying to sell was classified and not openly discussed, but the presentations indicated this "Star Wars" weapon was HAARP. In 1995 Congress killed funding for "Star Wars", but HAARP continues as the ultimate SDI radio frequency radiation weapon. The Reagan administration intensified the push into EM weapons development under project Sleeping Beauty. A scientist working for the Army's ballistic defense command complained to the House Government operations Committee that as much as half the entire SDI budget had disappeared into classified projects. When Ronald Reagan spoke to the UN about Star Wars he promised that the weapons system would be shared with all of humanity and that, "should we be invaded by aliens it would be used to defend the earth."

High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project

HAARP is the worldâs largest electromagnetic broadcasting station, and may represent an escalation in the WWIV electromagnetic war. The project is a creation of US Air Force and Naval Research, publicly it is for ionospheric research, but can be used to control weather and do electromagnetic sweeps that can be used for mind control of large populations.

HAARP, 30 miles from Fairbanks Alaska, is the real focus of anti-missile defense that SDI purported to beâ¦and much more.

The public patent was titled, âA Method and Apparatus for Altering a Region of the Earthâs Atmosphere, Ionosphere and Magnetosphereâ. Dr. Bernard Eastland, a physicist who holds a patent for the âfusion torchâ also holds about a dozen others related to HAARP that were eventually purchased by E-Systems and Raytheon. Patent #4,686,605 claims the following uses: âcause total disruption of (all forms) of communications over a very large portions of the earthâ¦missile or aircraft destruction, deflection or confusion⦠weather modificationâ¦by altering solar absorptionâ, also altering composition of the atmosphere. This patent was classified by the Navy under a National Security Order in 1987, but other patents exist for purposes of, âPower Beaming Systemsâ, âArtificial Ionospheric Mirror Composed of a Plasma Layerâ, âCreation of Artificial Ionizing Clouds Above the Earthâ, âDefense System for Discriminating Between Objects in Spaceâ, âNuclear-Sized Explosions Without Radiationâ.

HAARP is described as a research instrument for studying the Ionosphere, an Ionospheric Heater (IRI), of which many exist, but HAARP is special. The ability to focus energy and the unprecedented amount, in gigawatts (billion watts), makes it literally millions of times more effective at heating the region about 120 miles high. The atmosphere has most of its density below 30 miles altitude, the ionosphere is the very thin layer above that absorbs dangerous ultraviolet radiation and makes life possible on earth. There is little mixing normally between the two layers, but disturbances in the Ionosphere translate to changes in weather, such as normally occurring sunspots and the solar wind.

The main idea behind HAARP is the ability to direct electrons along the naturally occurring magnetic field lines of the earth and accelerate them to near the speed of light to form a protective shell of highly excited particles that not only block communications worldwide, but destroy missiles in their trajectory as they descend from space. The effects can be localized by punching a hole through the Ionosphere to super heat an area of 30 Km in diameter into a plasma shield. Any missile or aircraft would be destroyed that tried to fly through the plasma, which is the fourth state of matter. A hole in the Ionosphere over an enemy country could kill by allowing solar radiation to strike the surface unhindered. Weather modification could also be used as an instrument of warfare by manipulating the electrojet and the jet streams that dictate climate. The publicly stated aim is C3, or communications, the margin of victory in war is to block or intercept enemy communications and to secure your own. The signals in the ELF range can be generated by HAARP and heard anywhere in the world, and are used for earth-penetrating tomography, basically finding enemy submarines or underground bases. Volcanoes and earthquakes cause electromagnetic disturbances and it is theorized that EM disturbances might of themselves trigger earthquakes and volcanoes. Dr. Richard Williams says the high-energy experiments will generate the equivalent of the output of 10-100 large power generating stations and that âTests of these kinds could cause irreversible damageâ.

David Yarrow states, âEarthâs axial spin means that a burst lasting more than a few minutes will slice through the ionosphere like microwave knifeâ¦producing not a âholeâ but a long tear-an incisionâ.

According to Dr. Elizabeth Rauscher, âThe ionosphere is prone to catalytic reactions, so if a small part is changed, a major change in the Ionosphere can happenâ. HAARP documents admit that thousand fold greater amounts of energy can be released in the Ionosphere than injected. Stanford University experiments beaming radio waves (VLF) into the magnetosphere, detected the signals halfway around the world, some were amplified a thousand times. HAARP documents describe intentionally trying to get a ârunawayâ effect in the Ionosphere, âthe instabilities commonly studied are approaching their maximum RF energy dissipative capacity, beyond which the plasma process will ârunawayâ until the next limiting factor is reached.â The first atomic weapons testing was done without knowing if the chain reaction would stop or keep going. Oppenheimer admitted years later that, âThe government knew that the scientists didnât know.â The decision to pulse several gigawatts of energy into the Ionosphere could cross a thresholdâ¦Walter Richmond wrote an account of such an event in a book entitled, The Lost Millennium, the event began with a âsolar tapâ and a planetary short circuit. âThe surge of power became an avalancheâ¦at the pole in the vertical plane of the earthâs magnetic field where the winds of magnetism would not rise to blow it out. One trillion watt-seconds of energy unleashed their fury on the polar cap in the first flashâ¦even as it discharged, the ionosphere was recharged from the solar furnace. The HAARP project manager describes the âexperimentâ of earth penetrating capability using âfrequencies of 10 to 20 Hertz (pulses per second) or maybe one Hertz, one cycle per second type waves.â

This range of frequencies are the same dominant frequencies within which the human brain normally operates. Objections to nondisclosure of the biological effects of ELF on living things were ignored. The military, particularly the Navy and Air Force, have extensive research on the negative effects of ELF. These effects have been well documented but the government easily deflects public concern by playing down the effects and minimizing the risks. This is the same method used for other military systems, including nuclear weapons tests, LSD experiments, and radiation experiments, all carried out on unknowing subjects under the guise of National Security. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been falsified as to the true nature of the weapon system, its capabilities, and its possible fallout.

The military will never abandon this aspect of the miniature Manhattan Project regarding RFR weapons because of the extreme versatility and relative inexpensive weapons system. HAARP can do seven things or moreâ¦Generate an EMP to disable electronic devices, improve submarine communications, more flexible and accurate radar, disrupt enemy communications while maintaining ours, earth penetrating radar for finding hidden installations, finding oil, gas and mineral deposits, detection of low flying missiles and planes. These are just the publicly stated capabilities.

E-Systems is âpart of the central nervous systems for the nationâs intelligence communityâ with nearly 90% of $2 billion in sales in classified projects. Most of these projects were for the NSA and CIA, while the employees are often former Agency officials. Raytheon purchased E-Systems for $2.3 billion and holds at least twelve patents related to HAARP. E-Systems was the most secretive company in the US and after the sale its details are even more shrouded in mystery.

The brain operates with a narrow band of frequencies, beta waves or normal activity are 13-35 Hz, alpha waves or focused mental functioning are 8-12 Hz, theta waves or mental imagery are 4-7 Hz, and delta waves or sleep are .5-3 Hz. External stimulation of the brain by electromagnetic energy causes the brain to become entrained or locked in phase with an external signal. Specific waveforms and frequencies trigger precise chemical responses in the brain. The release of these neurochemicals cause specific reactions in the brain, which result in feelings of fear, lust, depression, love, etc. The power level needed to achieve a level of control over brain activity is very small, from 5 to 200 microamperes, which is a thousand times less than the power to run a 60watt light bulb. The trick to influencing brain activity is in the combination of frequency, power level and wave form.

In 1958 at the age of 14 Daniel Patrick Flanagan invented the Neurophone, a device to convert sound (words, music) into electrical impulses, which can be transferred through any point on the body directly into the brain, bypassing the ear entirely. The patent office refused a patent and told the inventor that if the device could make one of their deaf employees hear, he would issue the patent. The device was tested, the employee âheardâ and the patent was granted. The DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) classified the invention and froze research for years. In 1978 after the secrecy order was lifted Flanagan produced the Mark XI and Thinkman Model 50, which were used as learning tools because they literally download taped information into long term memory. Recent discussions with Flanagan about the subject of HAARP revealed that this radio transmitter could be used as a wireless neurophone covering the entire planet. Maxwell's 'Hidden' Etheric Component Evoked-potentials officially don't exist in physics, but in 1873 a Scotsman, James Clerk Maxwell, discovered electromagnetic waves have 3 components:
He discovered waveforms which exist at a certain number of right-angled rotations away from the electromagnetic-field. These are hyperspacial components, not subject to constraints of time and space. He claimed that electromagnetic-radiation waves were carried by the ether and the ether was disturbed by magnetic lines of force. The hidden component is called only 'potential' now and not normally used except for covert hyperdimensional physics and to manipulate consciousness itself via electromagnetic-waves covering vast areas of the planet.
Approx. one person in 3000 is naturally sensitive to this magnetic-waveform component, the telepathic types (according to a writer called "Majix"), but we are all capable of tuning into this magnetic component by tuning our subconscious to it. Maxwell's successors thought potentials were akin to mysticism, because they believed fields contain mass which cannot be created from apparently nothing, which is what potentials are, both literally and mathematically - they are an accumulation or reservoir of energy; but this hasn't been taught in mainstream physics.
Thought Control Subliminal words in the correct electromagnetic-field that expresses human consciousness, attuned to the human brain, can enter our minds at a subconscious level. Our brain activity patterns can apparently be measured and stored on computer by super-computers. If a victim needs subliminal-thoughts implanted, all that is necessary is to capture, save on computer, and target the person's brainwave pattern to send them such low frequency subliminal-messages that they actually think it is their own thoughts [confirmed by Al Bielek and Preston Nichols with the Montauk Project in Long Island]. The researcher Majix says our brains are so sensitive that they are like liquid-crystal in response to the magnetic component of the earth.
We are sensitive to earth's magnetic changes, changes in the ionospheric cavity and re-resonate those frequencies ourselves. We are incredibly complex, beyond comprehension and a type of biocosmic transducer.
