Sir Michael Caine unwittingly predicted the 9/11 terror attacks in a novel he was writing prior to the events of September 2001, the actor has revealed.

"I had this plot where terrorists fly a plane into a London skyscraper," he can be heard telling Mark Lawson in BBC Radio 4's Front Row on Wednesday.

"Then they did it in real life. I was stunned by that, so I stopped writing."

oh really, is that a fact?

wow, he is so cool, he just pulled that plot out of thin air huh?

he is a legendary free thinker and unbelievably creative. He is an originator, he thinks out of the box. He is simply the most incredible idea man this world has ever known.

or maybe he was around when London did the exact same drill with planes flying into a skyscraper in 1968.

I guess we will never know.

In the first part of this video they discuss a drill in 1968 where the tallest building in London, BP headquarters, was evacuated as part of a civil response drill simulating a plane crashing into the top floors of the building.  What I find most interesting is that they mention a need to be prepared for spilled jet fuel, and the use of fire retardent foam.

Meanwhile...

In the United States two buildings are being built to be the tallest in the world.  The design team has taken into consideration every possible element these structures could face in their lifespan, including being hit by "multiple airliners".  But, this team didn't consider that jet fuel might be a factor in a crash, according to one of their own members, Les Roberts.  Roberts made his comments to PBS in a documentary about the WTC and 9/11.  You can see a clip of the comments at the 8 minute mark of 9/11 Mysteries.

What can you say, those Brits think of everything!
