Cool Sonja! Folks, do to the unbelievably heavy traffic, people are reporting difficulty with the donation pages loading very slowly, and not getting email confirmations. So they are worried theirs donation didn't go therough. So, it's being recommended that if you can wait to donate between 3-5 AM Eastern time, please do. Based on the Nov5 pattern, that is when traffic should be at it's lowest.

It won't matter when you donate today, your confirmations are going to lag WAY behind.

I just donated and the e-mail came almost right away. It must be random on who gets one right away and who doesn't. They probably have an extra server or two since November 5th.

What a FAB radio voice! Oldie, you could be a host!! Are you in Leadville? Thanks Sandy... I did a couple of years of talk radio back in 2001/02 and have been calling in on talk shows since the late 80's... I started recording the show when Sane first put up the link about 2 1/2 hours ago... and it is a 5 1/2 hour tape... This is fun... No.... Leadville is about 25 miles south... I'm at the base of Buffalo, Red Mountain, and Silverthorne Peaks... The town is called Silverthorne... --Oldyoti "I have never met anyone who did not support our troops. Here is a pic from the bike trail in West Dillon with the dam and lake out of view to the left of the picture, which shows South Silverthorne and I-70 in the valley, as well as Buffalo Peak looming... My house is down the hill from the tree line on the far hill and about an inch or so off of the right side of the picture... The house is about a mile north of I-70 and about 12 miles north of Breckenridge...... --Oldyoti "Our country's founders cherished liberty, not democracy." ~Ron Paul

Thank you for the photo. Wow! You've found yourself a truly beautiful place to live, and enjoy nature. What a gift! I miss the Rockies having left northern New Mexico decades ago. Some of the most inspiring and breathtaking geography, and climate on the planet is in that area. I sill live near mountains (and the ocean too), and though my little home is very isolated, it's in a more bucolic little valley of old homesteads and cows. Don't have a photo of my own on this PC, so here is one from he web that was taken about 1/2 mile from my mailbox on the county road here in Chimacum.

That will work... that looks quite livable, Sandy... and nice Dairy... grew up on one of those... Where I grew up looked a lot like that as well... (chuckle)...
It is high here... it is right at 9000 feet at my front door with thirteen and fourteeners all round... It was about zero out last I looked...

I love the winters in the high country. Clean, dry air, and the night sky crammed with stars. Ahhh... If I close my eyes I can almost smell the pinion smoke too. Do you heat with wood?
Where did you grow up that makes you chuckle seeing that photo?
Yes this place works for me. I own acreage with a clean water stream, a pond, lots of trees that I cut for firewood, and my 87 year old dad next door that I care for. I'm very well stocked, and have the ocean next door.
I lived at around 7500 feet in NM, and it felt like I was walking around in molasses when I returned to sea level. ack!
Hey, a new photo! (I think I'm out of phase!) Much better view of where your house is. Thanks!

Nah... the Global Warming goof-balls rule the town council... they banned wood heat in the county unless your house was built before '95... Ours was built in ... you guessed it ...'95... I fight with them every year about their silly ordinance they will loose this year, we had a big power outage a couple of weeks ago... lots of folks got very cold for that half day... hope to have a nice wood system next fall... The new pic was taken before the big snow last week... everything is bathed in several feet of white now... --Oldyoti "Our country's founders cherished liberty, not democracy." ~Ron Paul
