AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas campus was locked Tuesday after a shooting on campus in which one person may have died, the Austin Statesman reported.

One person was dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo told the Statesman. Police said they were looking for an additional person in connection with the shooting, so the school continued to be locked down.

“I’m driving there right now trying to get there,” university spokeswoman Rhonda Weldon said.

Alicia Dietrich, public affairs assistant with the Harry Ransom Center, told the newspaper she heard the shots as she was parking her bike.

“I didn’t even know for sure that it was gunshots,” Dietrich told the Statesman. “The sirens went off about five to 10 minutes ago. The building has been locked down, and I don’t think they’re letting anybody in or out.”

Deborah Hosier, who was dropping off her son minutes before the campus alerts first went out about 8:20 a.m., said she saw a black Chevrolet Suburban park in the area and two figures, one carrying a black case, walk toward the library. The Suburban then drove off, she said.

COLLEGE'S EMERGENCY SIRENS BACK ON
Police still searching UT for second "suspect" in campus shooting (with new photos from the scene)

 By Caroline Gallay
September 28th, 2010 at 11:08 AM

The University of Texas remains on lockdown as police conduct an ongoing search for a second suspect in this morning's shooting. Austin's police chief said he would not refer to the second suspect as a "shooter," and it remains unclear whether the suspect is armed, but he did confirm that the search centered around Calhoun Hall and what's known on campus as the six pack — a cluster of six buildings on the South Mall.

My Fox Austin reports UT's emergency sirens are back on, indicating there is persistent danger.

The first shooter fired eight to 10 shots into UT's Perry-Castañeda Library with an automatic weapon — reportedly an AK-47 — before taking his own life. His body was found on the sixth floor.

Campus remains on lockdown, and all classes have been canceled. Area hospitals have not reported any related injuries.

Concealed Carry Event Coincides With University of Texas Shooting
http://www.infowars.com/concealed-carry-event-coincides-with-university-of-texas-shooting/

Infowars.com
September 28, 2010

Infowars.com has learned that an open carry event was scheduled on the UT campus today, the scene of a shooting earlier today. From the Students for Liberty website:

On Tuesday, September 28 at 6:00pm, a coalition of student organizations on the University of Texas Austin campus, including the Libertarian Longhorns, the UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, the UT Objectivism Society and the UT Federalist Society, will be hosting John Lott, famed defender of gun rights and author of the book “More Guns, Less Crime”.

Lott’s work in “More Guns, Less Crime” is commonly cited by many liberty-minded people when arguing against gun control laws, and Lott will be sharing some of his expertise in this field to the audience of students and members of the community of Austin.

Austin has been a hot-bed of debate over the potential of state laws being passed that would make it legal for a person to carry a concealed handgun on college campuses.

If you are in the Austin area on the 28th, stop by the UT Law School and hear John Lott discuss the negatives of gun control and the positives of a free society!

The fact that the shooting occurred prior to the talk is, to say the least, highly suspicious.

Yes, it does seem suspicious, but then again, aren't all these types of incidents? Ever since I've been listening to Alex Jones' show, I have a heightened awareness of what balogny the msm is being used for to promote whatever NWO agenda is on this weeks' plate! Apparently, the anti-gun agenda is this weeks' "crisis". It just gives them an excuse to push more banning of guns, and tries to stir up fear! Wink

I think everyone in the Austin area should call the school DEMANDING that the previously scheduled talk about concealed carry be presented tonight! Otherwise, this FF will be way too obvious: it was staged to stop the talk & to make the concealed carry movement's message get diminished.  Grin

This town was a victim of such a shooting back in the 90's, I think this is disgusting and just shows how the Government is using paranoia and fear to get what they want.

This story reeks of government provocateuring.

It certainly wouldn't be the first time:

Neo-Nazi rally was organized by FBI informant

Henry Pierson Curtis
Orlando Sentinal
February 15, 2007

A paid FBI informant was the man behind a neo-Nazi march through the streets of Parramore that stirred up anxiety in Orlando's black community and fears of racial unrest that triggered a major police mobilization.

That revelation came Wednesday in an unrelated federal court hearing and has prompted outrage from black leaders, some of whom demanded an investigation into whether the February 2006 march was, itself, an event staged by law-enforcement agencies.

Seven Retards Return For War On Terror Show Trial
FBI provocateurs tried to get "dipshits in a warehouse" to blow up Sears Tower

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
October 3, 2007

The prosecution's argument that "seven men plotted to bring down the U.S. government by poisoning saltshakers and bombing landmark buildings" in the trial of the "Liberty City Seven" underscores the ludicrous pretense of the "war on terror" and the callous obedience with which the media unquestionably report this farce.

Let's go over a brief refresher course on the details of the alleged plot to blow up Chicago's Sears Tower.

Seven semi-retarded pot smoking wannabe gang member rastafarians in a warehouse are approached by two FBI agents posing as Al-Qaeda terrorists and promised $50,000 if they start talking about waging a "holy war" in America.

One of the plots the ringleader dreams up, in his infinite wisdom, is to march to the White House, knock on the door, and announce "here I am."

The gang decide to go along with the agents in a bid to con them out of the money before disappearing, at which point the announcement that a "plot to overthrow the government" has been averted is saturated across the media as another sterling reason why the war on terror is so necessary.

After the true capability of the retards becomes the butt of a national joke (John Stewart labeled them "seven dipshits in a warehouse"), the Feds have to admit that the plot was "aspirational rather than operational," and posed no real threat because they had neither al Qaeda contacts nor means of carrying out attacks," as reported today by Reuters.

"Defense lawyers said the charges were "nonsense" scripted by the government and orchestrated by paid FBI informants they called Conman No. 1 and Conman No. 2," the report continues.

In almost every single major terror bust or sting that we have covered, the individuals providing the rhetoric, the means and money to actually foment and carry out a terrorist plot have been government informants and provocateurs.

Exactly As We Predicted; Deadly NY Terror Cell Are Semi-Retarded Potheads

As in ever other major case, terror group hyped by media turn out to be low IQ bums radicalized by federal provocateurs

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
May 22, 2009

Exactly as we predicted in our headline story yesterday, two of the ringleaders in the “deadly” New York terror plot salaciously hyped by the media and government officials have turned out to be semi-retarded potheads.

“The men will likely turn out to be semi-retarded dropouts,” we stated in our article yesterday, basing our forecast on the fact that in every other major terror sting in the west given so much prominence by officials and the corporate media, the poor suckers rounded up by the feds always turn out to be low IQ petty criminals down on their luck, provocateured and armed by federal agents.

We already knew that the men were provided with an inert rocket launcher and fake C4 explosives by an FBI informant, and now as more details emerge, our original summation of the case is proving accurate.

According to an Associated Press report, the four men charged with planning to blow up synagogues and military planes, “Were amateurs every step of the way. They had trouble finding guns and bought cameras at Wal-Mart to photograph their targets. One was a convicted purse snatcher, another smoked marijuana the day the plot was to be carried out.”

The report continues,”Relatives said the defendants were down-on-their-luck men who worked at places like Wal-Mart, a landscaping company and a warehouse when they weren’t behind bars. Payen’s lawyer said he was “intellectually challenged” and on medication for schizophrenia. Marilyn Reader said he has “a very low borderline” IQ.”

Hal Turner a Trained FBI Agent Provocateur

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
August 18, 2009

Radio talk show host and blogger Hal Turner was an FBI trained agent provocateur, his attorney told reporters in Hartford today. The supposed white supremacist worked for the agency from 2002 until 2007. “His job was basically to publish information which would cause other parties to act in a manner which would lead to their arrest,” Michael Orozco told the Associated Press.

Earlier this year Turner told his blog readers to “take up arms” against Connecticut lawmakers. He also said government officials should “obey the Constitution or die.” In June he wrote that the Illinois federal appeals judges “deserve to be killed” because they issued a ruling that upheld ordinances in Chicago and suburban Oak Park banning handguns. Turner included photos of the judges and the room numbers of their chambers at the courthouse.

As Predicted, FBI Agent Discovered at Center of Alleged Hutaree Conspiracy

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
March 31, 2010

On Monday we asked you to count the hours before links to the feds emerged on this one – turns out it was 48.

The FBI had an informant inside the Hutaree group and he participated in the alleged conspiracy to kill law enforcement officers, according to The Wall Street Journal today.

In sworn testimony, Thomas William Piatek is described as a Cooperating Witness and an undercover FBI agent.

Thomas William Piatek is pictured at the bottom right. It is interesting to note that, unlike the other suspects, he appears not to be wearing a jail uniform.

“A spokesperson at the FBI’s Detroit office declined to comment on the undercover agent and any role such an agent may have had in the investigation. A spokesman at the Justice Department in Washington also declined to discuss specifics of the investigation,” the Journal reports.

It is not surprising that the FBI had penetrated the Hutaree group and an agent was apparently at the center of the alleged conspiracy. In fact, it is part of a well established pattern.

On March 20, Infowars.com reported on allegations that a federal agent acted as a provocateur in the New York synagogue bombing conspiracy case. Defense attorneys in the case argued in court that the plot was hatched and directed by a federal informant.

“They said the informant badgered the defendants until they got involved in the plot,” NBC New York reported. “They said the informant chose the targets, supplied fake bombs for the synagogues and a fake missile to shoot down planes. The motion said he also offered to pay the defendants, who attorneys alleged weren’t inclined toward any crime until the informant began recruiting them.”

“This whole operation was a foolish waste of time and money,” Terence Kindlon, a defense lawyer who represented a client in the New York synagogue case, told the Times Online. “It is almost as if the FBI cooked up the plot and found four idiots to install as defendants.”

Defendants in the New Jersey Fort Dix Army terror case painted a similar picture. “The only terrorist conspiracy was one planted and nurtured by the informant,” declared defense attorney Rocco Cip during the trial. The FBI’s role in the case was admitted by a provocateur. “The FBI informant paid to infiltrate a band of suspected terrorists in South Jersey said yesterday that he offered to organize their attack on U.S. soldiers, but only because he wanted to build trust and find out more about the group,” the Star-Ledger reported on November 11, 2008.

In Miami, the FBI case against the so-called Miami Seven came apart at the seams when it was discovered a government provocateur provided money, video cameras for conducting surveillance, cellphones, and suggested that the patsies target the Miami FBI office.

In 2009, it was discovered that supposed white supremacist and radio talk show host Hal Turner was a National Security Intelligence asset, a fact admitted by the third highest ranking FBI official in New York City. During a second trial held this year, Turner described how he was recruited in 2003 by the FBI’s Newark-based Joint Terrorism Task Force. He said he was paid “in excess of $100,000” by the FBI during his almost five years as an informant.

False Flag Terror Of The New World Order
Methods used to facilitate staged attacks

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
December 12, 2006

The fact that states, intelligence and security agencies engage in false flag staged terror to further political agendas is documented throughout history, but it's too naive to simply characterize every act as an "inside job." Different methods are utilized to facilitate attacks using three different basic templates.

1) Unwitting Dupes

In this case, role players are used to test "security responses" by being told they are part of an exercise for a dummy terrorist attack, an operation that will help the state prevent similar attacks in future. The controllers tell the unwitting dupes that no harm will come to them and that their help will be greatly rewarded.

- London Bombings

The 7/7 bombings are a prime example of the unwitting dupes method. Mohammed Siddique Khan, the alleged ringleader of the 7/7 London bombings, was working for British intelligence agency MI5 as an informant at the time of the attacks. Family and friends described the accused bombers as friendly, westernized and having no interest in politics. Metropolitan police career experts in criminal psychology concluded that the bombers' behavior clearly indicated they did not know they were about to die. In an impossible coincidence, the attack paralleled a security drill that targeted the exact same locations at the exact same time. This is a clear example of where unwitting dupes were told that the operation was a security test and yet were strapped with real bombs and a real attack took place.

2) Provocateurs & Patsies

This is by far the most used method. In this case, radicals with past ties to terrorist groups are hired as informants to infiltrate mainly Islamic political groups and encourage them to carry out acts of terror. In almost every case, the materials required to carry out the attack are directly provided by intelligence agencies or via the hired provocateur. Agent provocateurs also take the guise of undercover government agents, who radicalize otherwise harmless groups over a long period of time and provide financial and material support and safe passage for the group to carry out the attack.

- 1993 WTC Bombing

The first World Trade Center bombing was provocateured by the government. In 1993 the FBI planted their informant, Emad A. Salem, within a radical Arab group in New York led by Ramzi Yousef. Salem was ordered to encourage the group to carry out a bombing targeting the World Trade Center's twin towers. Under the illusion that the project was a sting operation, Salem asked the FBI for harmless dummy explosives which he would use to assemble the bomb and then pass on to the group. At this point the FBI cut Salem out of the loop and provided the group with real explosives, leading to the attack on February 26 that killed six and injured over a thousand. The FBI's failure to prevent the bombing was reported on by the New York Times in October 1993.

3) Complete Complicity

Acts of complete complicity, where the state controls and dictates the attack every step of the way, are only used for major bellwether terrorist atrocities with clearly defined and planned outcomes. Pre-arranged patsies are set-up to take the fall for the attack, but they play very little or no role whatsoever in actually carrying out the attack. 9/11 is the obvious example, but another major case where this method was first used dates back to the 1950's.

- Bombing Campaign Against Mossadegh's Iran

Kermit Roosevelt admitted on NPR radio that in 1953 the CIA and British intelligence carried out a wave of bombings and shootings in Iran to overthrow the democratically elected Premier following Mossadegh's declaration that he would nationalize foreign oil holdings. He then went on to brag about how they subsequently blamed the bombings on Mossadegh himself. The CIA's own account of the overthrow, reported on by the New York Times in April 2000, states that the agency "directed a campaign of bombings" as part of the coup d’état.

UT campus given all-clear after Tuesday morning shooting

Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 12:44 PM

Update 12:30: During a press conference, police officials said the shooter appears to have been a UT student, but positive identification will come from the medical examiner’s office.

Officials do not believe there is a second gunman on campus.

The university remains closed for the day, and the Perry-Castaneda is being secured with a barricaded perimeter as a crime scene for the remainder of the day.

Police Chief Art Acevedo said a preliminary investigation shows that the gunman fired four rounds with what appears to be an AK-47 near the Littlefield Fountain. With students pointing the way, officers chased the shooter who ran into the library and up the stairs to the sixth floor. That’s where he appeared to have shot himself, Acevedo said.

No students or law-enforcement officials were shot, Acevedo said, and he said no officers fired at the gunman.

Two students were treated for minor injuries, including a sprained ankle, that appeared to have happened while evacuating, UT Police Chief Robert Dahlstrom said.

Acevedo said he anticipates the UT campus will be open as normal Wednesday morning.

Huff-Po Breaking News: "Eiffel Tower Evacuated Again due to Bomb Threat" (live feed on their site) Here's the link:

Huh

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/09/28/eiffel-tower-evacuated-ag_n_742089.html?fbwall

According to the article:

"France has been on high alert for terrorism since last week, due to multiple threats. Security has been tight and tensions high, and yesterday (9/27/10) a suspicious package caused diversions and delays for Paris subway stations"

Seems rather odd, weirdly coincidential, that the UT shooter incident happened, and now this, in Paris, France. Seems to me there's a push to scare the public...

I doubt the France event is in anyway related to the UT incident.

But there may be orders to distract from the banking/economic collapse.

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 28, 2010
Student Opens Fire at UT Austin, Kills Self
Man Fires AK-47 in Library Before Shooting Himself; "All Clear" on Campus as Police Rule Out Second Suspect

Police prepare to enter Calhoun Hall at the University of Texas at Austin on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, after a gunman opened fire inside the Perry-Castaneda Library, then fatally shot himself. Police were searching for a possible second suspect.  (AP/Tamir Kalifa, Daily Texan)

The University of Texas has issued an "all clear," hours after a gunman opened fire with an assault rifle at a campus library then fatally shot himself.

Officials say a man wearing dark clothes and a ski mask fired an AK-47 automatic weapon on the sixth floor of the library early Tuesday before killing himself.

"He subsequently shot himself. He is deceased," UT police spokeswoman Rhonda Weldon said. There were no other reported injuries.

CBS Station KEYE reports that the UT police chief said the shooter is believed to have been a student.

Officials have ruled out the possibility of a second shooter. The initial confusion was because the suspect fired shots in multiple locations, campus police Chief Robert Dahlstrom said.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo told a news conference that police were investigating what he described as a second crime scene outside the library where shots also were fired. Police were patrolling nearby buildings with bomb-sniffing dogs to make sure no explosives had been left behind.

#18   How ironic, the day we were to have a lecture defending 2nd amendment rights, we have a shooter instead.

[The FBI was there?  That's always a bad sign....]

This is starting to remind me of the shooting at McKinney(TX)/Collin College by Patrick Gray Sharp, 29, (1 dead) just over month ago on 8-17-10.  In that case it didn't appear the shooter was shooting to kill, and everyone wondered what the guy's motive was.

These guys always leave behind some kind of incriminating evidence, like on a facebook or myspace account.

Cops hold mock killing spree at a college in Paducah Ky

"Is this real world or excercise?"

Shooter terrorizes campus during mock drill
Reporter - Lauren Adams
Photojournalist - Mason Watkins
Story Created: Sep 15, 2010 at 4:48 PM CDT

PADUCAH - Wednesday morning was a quiet one on the campus of West Kentucky Community and Technical College.  But shortly after 10 a.m., the silence was shattered by gunshots. "Somebody help him," a student cried out when her friend collapsed next to her.

Unfazed, the gunman continued on a shooting spree.

Student Jackson Ervin was an eyewitness. "The first two rounds were louder than the other ones and it scared me." That is exactly the reaction Paducah Police Captain Brandon Barnhill was looking for.  This was not an isolated incident. It was a mock drill, set up two months in advance at the request of the college. "We wanted everybody's attention," Barhill said. "This can happen at any given time and we want to be prepared for it." That attention was not hard to get. The shooter gunned down an officer and the SWAT team arrived. "We put them in the absolute worst scenario they could be in," said Rob Estes, the department's firearms instructor. Estes served as one of two shooters during the drill.  He spent 15 minutes evading the very team he trained and said in the coming days he would offer a critique. "For once I was on the other side and I'll be able to tell them what they did right, what they did wrong, who I could shoot, who I did shoot." The entire college community had been informed about the day's drill, but when student Ervin was forced to watch "injured" students go by on stretchers, he said, "It was unreal. This really did get the point across." Ervin got the message, "Be ready" and law enforcement did, too. "They did a great job.

By the end of it, I had nowhere to go," said Estes, who, along with another shooter, was "gunned down" by the SWAT team.

The Paducah Fire Department and Mercy Regional also assisted. During Wednesday's drill, there was one "fatality" and five "wounded."  Students and several officers volunteered to play parts, along with bloodied make-up, to make the drill more realistic for those participating and watching.

A spokesperson for WKCTC said the college is pleased with the results of the drill and is considering more in the future.

Red Team activity is any set of activities that deal with an unannounced assessment of security and readiness by an unfamiliar (to the target) team of operators with no awareness or support from the assessed target. The function of individuals engaged in this activity is to provide a unique understanding from a threat actor's point of view in a less contrived circumstance than through exercises, role playing, or announced assessments. Red Team activities may involve interactions that trigger active controls and countermeasures in effect within a given operational environment.

In wargaming, the opposing force or OPFOR in a simulated military conflict may be referred to as a red team and may also engage in Red Team activity, which is used to reveal weaknesses in military readiness. The key theme being that the aggressor is composed of various threat actors, equipment and techniques that are obscured from the defender's complete knowledge.

Some of the benefits of Red Team activities are that it challenges preconceived notions by demonstration; they also serve to elucidate the true problem state that planners are attempting to mitigate. Additionally, a more accurate understanding can be gained about how sensitive information is externalized, as well as highlight exploitable patterns and instances of undue bias with regard to controls and planning.

United States Army

In the US Army, Red Teaming is defined as: “structured, iterative process executed by trained, educated and practiced team members that provides commanders an independent capability to continuously challenge plans, operations, concepts, organizations and capabilities in the context of the operational environment and from our partners’ and adversaries’ perspectives.” (TRADOC News Service, July 13, 2005) [1]

The Army Red Team Leaders Course is conducted by the University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies (UFMCS) at Fort Leavenworth. The target students are graduates of the U.S. Army CGSC or equivalent intermediate and senior level school (Major through Colonel, and Chief Warrant Officer 3/4/5 with MEL IV qualification or equivalent).

The Red Team Leader’s Course (RTLC) is graduate-level education of 720 Academic Hours (18 weeks) designed to effectively anticipate change, reduce uncertainty, and improve operational decisions. The typical academic day is 8 hours and the typical reading load is 250 pages per night.

The University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies was formed as an outgrowth of recommendations from the Army Chief of Staff's Actionable Intelligence Task Force. UFMCS, as an element of the TRADOC (DCSINT) Intelligence Support Activity, or TRISA, located at Fort Leavenworth, KS, is an Army directed education, research and training initiative for Army organizations and other joint and government agencies designed to provide a Red Teaming capability.

A UFMCS-trained Red Team is educated to look at problems from the perspectives of the adversary and our multinational partners, with the goal of identifying alternative strategies. The Red Team provides commanders with critical decision-making expertise during planning and operations. The team’s responsibilities are broad – from challenging planning assumptions to conducting independent analysis to examining courses of action to identifying vulnerabilities.

Red Team Leaders are expert in:

Analyzing complex systems and problems from different perspectives to aid in decision making using models of theory.
An analysis of the concepts, theories, insights, tools and methodologies of cultural and military anthropology to predict other’s perceptions of our strengths and vulnerabilities.
Applying critical and creative thinking in the context of the operational environment to fully explore alternatives to plans, operations, concepts, organizations, and capabilities.
Applying advanced analytical skills and techniques at tactical level through strategic level and develop products supporting command decision making and operational execution.

U.S. Joint Forces Commands' Joint Enabling Capabilities Command

Two operational positions associated with red teaming exist at the United States Joint Forces Command formerly called Blue Red Planners within the Standing Joint Force Headquarters (SJFHQs). These two positions, now called Red Team Leaders (RTLs) are designed to provide the Joint Task Force Plans and Operations Groups with insight into the adversary’s political and military objectives and potential course of action (COA) in response to real or perceived Blue action. RTLs are the leads of a RT Cell composed of operationally oriented experts that analyze Blue conditions-driven COA from an adversary-based perspective. The RT Cell also anticipates potential adversary responses to counter Blue COA and end-state objectives. The RT also identifies critical Blue vulnerabilities and potential operational miscues. The RT cell also assists in war gaming, COA development early in the Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP). RTLs, in collaboration with the Combatant Commander's staff and Centers of Excellence, provide in-depth knowledge of the local political landscape, of the adversary’s history, military doctrine, training, political and military alliances and partnerships, and strategic and operational objectives. The RTLs will postulate the adversary’s desired end-state, and also, postulate what the adversary may surmise Blue’s desired end-state or objectives to be. Finally, the RTLs help identify, validate, and/or re-scope potential critical nodes identified through systems developed understanding of the operational environment.

United States Government

Red Teaming is normally associated with assessing vulnerabilities and limitations of systems or structures. Various watchdog agencies such as the Government Accountability Office and the National Nuclear Security Administration employ red teaming, sometimes with dramatic findings.

In exercises and war games, Red Teaming refers to the work performed to provide an adversarial perspective, especially when this perspective includes plausible tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) as well as realistic policy and doctrine.

Important cases

The FAA has been implementing Red Teams since the Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. Red Teams conduct tests at about 100 US airports annually. Tests were on hiatus after September 11, 2001 and resumed in 2003.[1]

The FAA use of red teaming revealed severe weaknesses in security at Logan International Airport in Boston, where two of the four hijacked 9/11 flights originated. Some former FAA investigators who participated on these teams feel that the FAA deliberately ignored the results of the tests and that this resulted in part in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the US.

Other examples include:

Billy Mitchell - a passionate early advocate of air power - demonstrated the obsolescence of battleships in bombings against the captured World War I German battleship Ostfriesland and the U.S. pre-dreadnought battleship Alabama.

Rear Admiral Harry E. Yarnell demonstrated in 1932 the effectiveness of an attack on Pearl Harbor almost exactly showing how the tactics of the Japanese would destroy the fleet in harbor nine years later. Although the umpires ruled the exercise a total success, the umpire's report on the overall exercises makes no mention of the stunning effectiveness of the simulated attack. Their conclusion to what became known as Fleet Problem XIII was surprisingly quite the opposite:

"It is doubtful if air attacks can be launched against Oahu in the face of strong defensive aviation without subjecting the attacking carriers to the danger of material damage and consequent great losses in the attack air force." [2]

Amazing “Coincidence”: UT Shooting Cancels Pro-Gun Speech
http://www.infowars.com/amazing-coincidence-ut-shooting-cancels-pro-gun-speech/
Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com September 28, 2010

A shooting at the University of Texas campus that was initially blamed on a lone nut took on a political aspect after it emerged that the incident coincided with a speech by second amendment expert John Lott about the right to concealed carry that was due to take place tonight but has since been cancelled.

The Associated Press is now reporting that police are investigating two separate crime scenes after a gunman opened fire inside a library then fatally shot himself early this morning. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect and the University is on lock down with all classes having been cancelled.

Shortly after the incident, the Austin-American Statesman somewhat sardonically reported that the John Lott event, which was organized by UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, had been cancelled as a result of the “unfortunate coincidence” of it falling on the same day as this morning’s incident.

“I don’t want to comment on any political aspects of this,” said Jeff Shi, the president of UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, “I hope everything turns out well and the only casualties are the bad guys.”

Was the timing of the shooting just an “unfortunate coincidence” or a deliberate ploy to undermine and cancel the Lott event amidst a nationwide push to allow students the right to concealed carry? With robberies and other crimes on campus soaring, more students are demanding they be authorized to protect themselves,

The timing of mass shootings, although thankfully in this case there were no victims aside from the gunman, routinely coincide with the passage of stringent gun laws or debates about concealed carry on campus.

The 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, in which the perpetrator Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and wounded many others, was preceded by a campus gun ban that prohibited “unauthorized possession, storage or control” of firearms on campus. This prevented the dozens of victims from being able to properly defend themselves against the killer.

The only “political aspect” behind the “coincidence” of the shooting happening on the same day as the second amendment event is the fact that if the gunman or gunmen had been more successful in their rampage, students who had exercised their gun rights and adopted concealed carry would have been far more protected than those who had not.

Indeed, presuming that the danger is now over with the gunman dead, there would have been no better time than tonight for Lott to give his speech about Second Amendment issues on campus.

However, as a consequence of this amazing “coincidence,” Lott’s presentation has been postponed with no indication of when it will be rescheduled.

It remains to be seen whether the corporate media will play up the connection between the shooting and the Lott speech as a means of demonizing the Second Amendment, but given how the establishment has ceaselessly exploited mass shootings in the past to attack the rights of the victims to defend themselves, don’t be surprised if the talking points in reaction to this story start to take on this very character.

Mock shooters test campus preparedness

Written by Danielle Ray
Thursday, September 16 2010

For Steve Orazine, Wednesday morning’s mock shooter exercise ranked as more than a drill. It was personal. Orazine is director of security for West Kentucky Community & Technical College. His daughter survived the deadly December 1997 attack on a Heath High School prayer group. On Wednesday, college staff teamed with Paducah police, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) members to stop two shooters — played by Rob Estes, Paducah police training officer, and Melissa Green, Paducah police records clerk — who stalked the campus, equipped with training pistols and blanks.

Do not worry, all of your local SWAT teams are getting "NAFTA/SPP/NAU" trained: http://www.nasta.ws/

Who gives a shit about the constitution and national sovereignty when NAU training is so much more kick ass!

This sounds incredibly staged.  A guy in a ski mask runs around campus with an AK-47, shoots at walls, and is supposedly found dead by suicide, the SAME day that a second amendment speech takes place.

FACT:  In Utah CCW holders are allowed weapons on campus and there have been ZERO incidents.

This case is oddly similar to one that happened on 12-12-06 at Springfield Township HS, metro-Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In that one a 16yr old kid named Shane Halligan walked out of his class, whipped an SKS out of his gym bag, and fired off at least five shots before offing himself.  Why was his rifle loaded with 18 rounds if he just wanted to commit suicide?  Details:

Another similar episode is the recent random shooting at McKinney(TX)/Collin College by Patrick Gray Sharp, 29, just over month ago on 8-17-10. In that case it didn't appear the shooter was shooting to kill, and everyone wondered what the guy's motive was.

Was Tooley the typical "Columbine Client?"

This is my profile of these types of gunmen, based on research into this whole phenomenom. Since they haven't released many personal details on the shooter yet, I will post it to see how much of a match it turns out to be.

--Friends may notice strange changes in mood in the days and weeks before the shooting.  He may have complained that lately he has experienced strange and vivid dreams of a violent nature.

--He will be dressed in all black and/or camoflage, oftentimes with a black trenchcoat.

--Eyewitnesses at the scene will note strange mood changes during the shooting.  Some will say he looked angry, others will say he looked anxious, confused, or 'like a robot.'

--The media will paint him as a loner, but he will in fact have a circle of friends or be part of a clique.

--Extra ammo/guns/bombs will be found at his home and in his auto(this to 'close the circle' of guilt in the public's mind).  The guns will have been legally acquired by the shooter or a close relative/neighbor.   He will have brought an excessive quantity of ammunition to the scene.  (This is so that, if he has 200rounds of ammo, people will think "Wow, he must have wanted to kill 200 people.  What a nut!")

--Literature and/or videos about Adolph Hitler, Charles Manson(infamous American cult leader), or the Columbine killers will be found amongst his possessions.

--He will be computer-savvy, and likely left an online presence.   He may have left some kind of manifesto, though it will be incomprehensible/nonsensical for the most part.  He will have hinted at what he had planned, but the name of the target itself will not be mentioned.  A complete record of what he communicated, and with who, on his computer will NOT be released.

--He will probably have been a player of violent video games, and will have been a fan of violence-themed movies.  He will have produced his own videos in which he is seen with his weapons or expressing his hatred and/or violence.

--He will have a strong interest in weapons--guns, knives, swords, bombs--or the military.

--He will have had contact with a military recruiter or he will have spent some time in the military before being seperated under murky circumstances.

--There is a good chance he will have been active in "Live Action Role Playing"(LARP) games.  Or he will have been a player in "Airsoft"/paintball games.

--He will have been mentally "treated" at some point by a counselor, psychologist, or a psychiatrist.  And this shrink will likely remain unidentified and will NEVER be interviewed, even though he is perhaps best positioned to tell us what the motive is.  The shooter may also may have taken "anger management" sessions.

--He will have a history of taking SSRIs(selective seritonin reuptake inhibitors), often in combination with Ritalin(methylphenidate).

--There is some likelihood that he was institutionalized or hospitalized at some point before the attack.  At any rate there will gaps in the timeline where police cannot account for his whereabouts before the attack.

--He probably had some contact with the police/law enforcement before the shooting.

--He might have been involved with Satanism or other strange occultic-type religions.

--If he survived the assault, he will be unable to explain why he did what he did.  He may claim that 'voices' in his head told him to do it.  Or he may not even remember the act at all.   But whether the shooter lives or dies, motive will always remain a mystery.

--He will NOT have acted alone.  There is a good possibility others were shooting also; or at the very least others will have encouraged him and helped plan the attack and get weapons.

--Afterwards, the politicians will call for increased laws against gun ownership, more armed security personnel everywhere, and metal detectors at the school/mall.

A 19-year-old math major got dressed in a suit and a ski mask and fired off several rounds from an AK-47 assault rifle today, sending the campus of the University of Texas at Austin into a lockdown before taking his own life in a library, police said.  Colton Tooley was seen running through the campus this morning as classes started. He was wearing a dark business suit, carrying a rifle and shooting rounds into the air. Police told ABCNews.com that the investigation had moved off campus to a "house associated with the shooting." Tooley was a sophomore math major at UT, concentrating in actuarial sciences, according to the student directory. Public records indicate that Tooley lived in South Austin, about 10 miles away from the university. Calls made to a number at that address went unaswered, but recorded answering machine message identified Tooley as a resident. Just before noon, a campus lockdown that had been in effect since around 8 a.m., was lifted, and police ended a search for a possible second suspect.  "The armed suspect is dead. No other injuries have been reported," UT President Bill Powers wrote in a campus email. Tooley was found dead on the sixth floor of the library from apparently self inflicted wounds, police said.

[...]

The Galveston County Daily News reports the medical branch had planned a drill Tuesday in which a "shooter" would run into the Jamail Student Center and open fire. Emergency agencies and UTMB then planned to respond to test their readiness.

Again, he was masked, how do they know he was the sooter?

And if he was, who knows where the shots came from. Supposedly 10-15 shots fired, then masked guy runs into library saying crazy things "as if he wasn't taking the moment seriously" according to witnesses. Is this similar to what they tell the red team members in the drills to say? crazy things that make no sense?

Rigaud Paine, a systems technician for UT, was in the basement of the library when his facilities manager and a contractor appeared. They said that while they were on the sixth floor, they received a report of a man coming up the stairwell carrying an assault rifle, Paine said. The manager and contractor got into the elevator to escape, but not before they saw the masked gunman, Paine said.

Anthony Smith, a business finance major, said ... his friends saw the gunman running into the library. "He was saying crazy things," almost as if he wasn't taking the moment seriously, Smith said witnesses told him.
