WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States faces a heightened threat of terrorist attack "for the foreseeable future" but any attack will likely be homegrown, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said on Wednesday.

Chertoff, who said over the summer that he had a "gut feeling" that the country faced a heightened risk of attack, said that assessment still stands.

"It's not something that's going to evaporate in a week or two. I think it's something that's going to be with us for a while," he told a small group of reporters in a phone call.

Chertoff, who is in charge of ensuring that the country does not face another attack like that of September 11, 2001, said the heightened risk was not based on any intelligence predicting a specific, imminent attack.

"I said we were beginning to enter into a period like this. And that didn't mean it was going to be a week, it meant it's for the foreseeable future," he said.

"There's probably a greater risk in terms of likelihood from a homegrown attack than from a massive international attack," he added.

Chertoff described that sort of "homegrown" attack as a single person or small group of people living in the United States who were "recruited" on the Internet and had pledged allegiance to al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

"I think the consequence of that kind of attack is likely to be less cataclysmic than the kind of attack that would be launched from outside like the London plot of 2006 against the airlines," he said, referring to a thwarted plot to bomb transatlantic airliners using liquid explosives.

Why would someone pledge allegiance to Osama Bin Laden?

Haha, and wasn't it this forum that someone told me that al qaeda was a computer program or something of the sort?

Eh, either way, I tried figuring this out but I got this website which I thought was kind of funny.  Not, ha ha funny...

The average person does not understand the term fly by wire. What fly by wire means simply is that pilots don't usually fly Airliners anymore, they instead feed commands into a computer and the computer fly's the aircraft. This sounds way too scary to be true but it is and the way they get around the scaryness is that the pilot is supposed to be able to override the computer so that he can fly the aircraft if he thinks it necessary. Get the picture now? When fly by wire made is first appeance in the world of aviation it's creators decided to show it off at an airshow in France. For some reason everyone seemed to be in somewhat of a hurry to implicate the use of fly by wire into commercial aviation and appearantly things got rushed through a bit without working all of the bugs out and the huge jet liner's computer system decided that it was going to land the aircraft in a forest instead of on the runway it was intended to. Pilot and crew were killed but the corporate well to do's went ahead with the program anyway and very quickly a major change was made in the way airliners would be flown from then on as it would be fly by wire. When the average person learned that jetliners had been flown into buildings and used as weapons it boggled the mind as every american would have to come to the realization as for what reason someone piloting an aircraft could purposely make such a fatal flight desicion, however one might also have to think, did they really? The commands for the destination of those aircraft in question could have came from anywhere and that means the most logical place for those commands to have come from could be from outside of the aircraft since there would inherently be too much incentive to avoid hitting a building from inside the cockpit of the aircraft. When two jetliners hit each tower it became obvious that there was a conspiacy plan to fly airliners into buildings as it was done very effectively so the remaining question that needs to be asked is who actually profited most from this plan, was it al Quieda? Obviously not. As with any computer anyone who uses one knows very well, as this goes for presidential elections as well as flight computers, "Garbage in garbage out".

Freedom, Liberty & death to the NWO

It is not that there are blue eye blond haired Al-CIA-DA, here in the US, it is the reprisals they fear for all the wrongs committed against the people. They are afraid that when the market crashes, people go hungry, and have no place to live it will all come to a head and boil over. That is why they say the real threat is from within, for they created it ti be so.

home grown terror already exists, wasting my day in a courtroom i starred at a picture and it became so clear. i was just making the fascist pillars rabble louder as i starred on, the revolutionary war. revolution was made in blood of men and women so how can a new one be different. new laws make it worse, defending the stat qou is an insult to the "AWAKE". useless idiots defend being judges cops love the master so much to defy for us. i ask who will we fight? is it the UN? no silly!

the revolution was about one thing, stopping those who seek to control. one way or another.

home grown terrorism is the systematic slavery of millions not groups of thinkers. homegrown? yes it grew from home like poison ivy infecting our homes. faggot divas in black fatigues OR robes who love staring roles are the enemy, the kings emissaries.

not all cops and judges are evil, but they stand out. they shine.

And today there was a news report of a white supremacist plot to assassinate Obama broken up by the FBI. Makes me think this plot was all a ruse created by the government so they could say "white supremacists are terrorists; if you see a white person, call the police because they may be a terrorist". There's your "blonde-haired, blue-eyed al-Qaeda".

You guys seem to have a pretty good handle on things.  Here is a little tidbit.  Most of the inflammatory rhetoric that the certain groups have been using was planted for them to find so as to drive the core of their party to the other side.  Mission Accomplished.

Keep your eyes on the sky on oct0ber twenty 9inth.

Currently in progress is an exercise at Phort Hud, might want to look into that.

Freedom, Liberty & death to the NWO

« Reply #8 on: October 30, 2008, 07:47:16 PM »

As we progress through this maze of lies and deception that is espoused as truth, and now with HR 1955 as good as as sure deal, those posturing to protect themselves from the chaos they have initiated will intensify their efforts to demonize any and all who disagree with the current official party lie. The playbook that the NWO uses doesn't vary but in small degrees and as they spotlighted Al-Cia-Da months prior to 9-11, 2001 they now begin their brainwashing of the general public turning them against us so we may be blamed for the next terrorist attack on U.S. soil, then parlaying our dissent into more restrictive "laws" yet furthering their agenda of enslavement, dominance, and death.

It is vitally important we endeavor to distance ourselves from the radical shills and duped morons who are coned into violence. We have the right to protect ourselves and others in intimate danger, but we must not let them provoke us into a set-up / confrontation. We need to study the NWO`s strengths finding ways to use them against them.
