I have an idea for a small program for Linux/Ubuntu/Fedora. A small program (less than 1 MB) based on the Alex Jones iPod/iPhone app using Gstreamer and/or Xine as the audio framework. (Maybe allow the end user to choose between Gstreamer and Xine inside the app, or create two separate AJ apps...one based on Gstreamer and the other based on Xine. If it's a single app giving the end user the choice between Gstreamer and Xine, then the program should just be called "openinfowars". If it's the two separate apps idea, then the Gstreamer-based one would be named "openinfowars-gstreamer" (like openinfowars-gstreamer-1.0_i386.deb) and the Xine-based one would be named "openinfowars-xine" (like openinfowars-xine-1.0_i386.deb). I'm not much of a programmer so if any more-experience programmers wanna tackle this, then be my guest. Just remember that the application would be dependent on the Gstreamer/Xine codecs which allow MP3s to be played (like gstreamer-ffmpeg for Gstreamer and libxine1-ffmpeg for Xine). Smiley

How would you implement this?

Can't Linux users just play the stream through the shoutcast stream or the flash-based players?

True, we Linux users have a whole host of methods.
