No Sea Level Rise For The Past 50 Years

While the IPCC and its boy
    scouts present wilder and wilder
sea level predictions for the near
    future, the real observational
    facts demonstrate that sea level
    has remained virtually stable for
    the last 40-50 years
.

Excellent post, Route !

For an interesting slant on the entire global warming hoax,
I highly recommend  Michael Crighton's
STATE OF FEAR,
and how the elite as we know them
are terrorizing us purposely
to make us believe anything !

The actor who plays the President in a TV show
comes  to a tasty end !

An easy way to absorb hundreds of factoids about climate
change and unchanged.

I got my copy in a second hand bookstore.

In fact, it may be why Crichton was "cancered to death".

Changing Tides: Research Center Under Fire for 'Adjusted' Sea-Level Data

By Maxim Lott

Published June 17, 2011 | FoxNews.com

Is climate change raising sea levels, as Al Gore has argued -- or are climate scientists doctoring the data?

The University of Colorado’s Sea Level Research Group decided in May to add 0.3 millimeters -- or about the thickness of a fingernail -- every year to its actual measurements of sea levels, sparking criticism from experts who called it an attempt to exaggerate the effects of global warming.

"Gatekeepers of our sea level data are manufacturing a fictitious sea level rise that is not occurring," said James M. Taylor, a lawyer who focuses on environmental issues for the Heartland Institute.

Steve Nerem, the director of the widely relied-upon research center, told FoxNews.com that his group added the 0.3 millimeters per year to the actual sea level measurements because land masses, still rebounding from the ice age, are rising and increasing the amount of water that oceans can hold.

"We have to account for the fact that the ocean basins are actually getting slightly bigger... water volume is expanding," he said, a phenomenon they call glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA).

Taylor calls it tomfoolery.

"There really is no reason to do this other than to advance a political agenda," he said.

You are right, it is pretty serious business. I have never been to Brazil but I had read once about a city called Paraty where, only at high tide during the full moon, some of the city's streets are flooded, because when the Portuguese built the sea wall they designed it just at the right height for that to happen. Now, isn't it amazing that with Global Warming Climate change, and now "Water Mining" causing the sea levels to rise, that this still works?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraty#Flooded_Streets

I copied and pasted the section in case it disappears:

Flooded Streets

Thanks to Portuguese engineering involving an ingenious curvature of the cobblestone streets, Paraty is home to a unique phenomenon. Once a month when there is a Full Moon and the tide is high, seawater rises from its normal levels, and pours into the Historic Center District through special openings in the seawalls that separate the city from the harbor. The streets are only flooded for a short time, until the tide recedes. The water is usually only six to ten inches deep and a few merchants near the seawall put out small bridges to span the flooded streets for the benefit of pedestrians.
