Smells like a bioweapon - an 'emerging' bacteria frequently found in food, serendipitously showing up during the reign of the former Monsanto lobbyist, now our 'food safety czar', Michael Taylor. Imagine a guy from Monsanto in charge of keeping our food supply safe. It boggles the mind.

Keep an eye on this --it's a problem that will require a 'solution'.
Never let a crisis go to waste.

Emerging Escherichia coli Sequence Type ST131
Causes Many Antimicrobial-Resistant Infections in U.S.

http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1150182/pg1

"A recent study has revealed that a new, drug-resistant strain of E. coli is causing serious antimicrobial-resistant infections in the U.S. The new strain, ST131 has been reported in multiple countries and encountered all over the United States."

"In the study, researchers analyzed resistant E. coli isolates collected during 2007 from hospitalized patients across the country. They identified 54 ST131 isolates, which accounted for 67 percent to 69 percent of E. coli isolates exhibiting fluoroquinolone or extended-spectrum cephalosporin resistance."

From Sify News
[link to sify.com]
"If we could discover the sources of this strain, the transmission pathways that allow it to spread so effectively, and the factors that have led to its rapid emergence, we could find ways to intervene and possibly slow or halt this strain's emergence," said study author James Johnson, MD, of the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

"If this strain gains one additional resistance gene," Dr. Johnson added, "it will become almost untreatable and will be a true superbug, which is a very concerning scenario.

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Escherichia coli sequence type ST131 (O25:H4), associated with the CTX-M-15 extended-spectrum beta-lactamase, has emerged internationally as a multidrug-resistant pathogen but has received little attention in the United States. METHODS: From the SENTRY and Meropenem Yearly Susceptibility Test Information Collection (MYSTIC) surveillance programs, 127 E. coli clinical isolates from hospitalized patients across the United States in 2007, stratified by extended-spectrum cephalosporin and fluoroquinolone phenotype and bla(CTX-M-15) genotype, were assessed for phylogenetic group, ST131 status, susceptibility profile, virulence genotype, gyrA and parC sequence, and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis profile. RESULTS: The 54 identified ST131 isolates (all fluoroquinolone resistant) accounted for an estimated 17% of the source populations, including 67%-69% of isolates resistant to extended-spectrum cephalosporins or fluoroquinolones, 55% of those resistant to both fluoroquinolones and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and 52% of multidrug-resistant isolates. Their distinctive virulence profiles were more extensive compared with other antimicrobial-resistant isolates but similarly extensive compared with antimicrobial-susceptible isolates. Pulsed-field profiling suggested ongoing dissemination among locales, with concentration of bla(CTX-M-15) within specific ST131 lineages. A historical ST131 isolate lacked the 2007 ST131 isolates' conserved fluoroquinolone resistance-associated single-nucleotide polymorphisms in gyrA and parC. CONCLUSIONS: A single E. coli clonal group, ST131, probably caused the most significantly antimicrobial-resistant E. coli infections in the United States in 2007, thereby constituting an important new public health threat. Enhanced virulence and/or antimicrobial resistance compared with other E. coli, plus ongoing dissemination among locales, may underlie ST131's success. Urgent investigation of the sources and transmission pathways of ST131 is needed to inform mitigation efforts.

It is really reassuring that the "undocumented" workers don't wash their hands are manning the beef / poultry / pork packing plants plus the lettuce tomatos and strawberries.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBP,_Inc.

IBP, Inc., formerly known as Iowa Beef Processors, Inc., now Tyson Fresh Meats, is now an American meat packing company based in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, USA.

IBP was the United States' biggest beef packer and its number two pork processor until it was acquired by Tyson Foods in 2001 for US$3.2 billion in cash and stock.
...
2001: "The year for Tyson ended on a negative note, however, as the company faced serious allegations of illegal hiring practices, brought on by a two-and-a-half-year investigation by the Department of Justice. Tyson and several employees were indicted for conspiring to smuggle illegal immigrants across the United States-Mexico border and put them to work with false documentation. Tyson was investigated for financial gains derived from the alleged offense, which was estimated to be in excess of $100 million."
...
2007: "The company issued a recall of 40,000 pounds of beef in 12 states. The recalled meat was sold at Wal-Mart stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. The company decided to take this action after samples tested at its Texas plant revealed E. coli O157:H7 contamination. This form of E. coli is a potentially deadly bacterium that causes bloody diarrhea and dehydration, and possibly death. Young children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems face the most danger from E. coli." [2]

We really are truly f**ked...

Nah, if you stay away from anti-bacterial soaps and stop going to the doctor for the most minor of cold symptoms, so they put you on antibiotics, you will be okay.

Eat lots of foods with probiotics like yogurt (not the ones that have aspartame--go organic).  Keep your immune strong by staying away from foods laced with hormones, antibiotics, steroids, MSG, aspartame and HFCS.  Get plenty of Vitamin D3 during the summer months, (Sunshine).

Eat good organic veggies raw.  Drink lots of filtered water.

If your gut is healthy so will you be.

That's my $0.02 worth.

That makes my gardens and seed stores all the more worthwhile to me.  We are getting better each year at this and will soon have enough of our own veggies to not have to rely on veggies that are treated with all of the crap and crapped on by workers.  But it takes a lot of practice to get all of the gardening techniques down so I highly suggest you all start now before TSHTF.  It would be wise of us to all over prepare.

I knew as soon as those dang antibacterial soaps started getting pushed that they weren't good for a person.  I have never used them in my home for my family.  Now as for the filtered water I just started using that a month or so ago and only recently (since Prison Planet Forum) got into the organic vegetables.  I need one of those water purifiers for the home.

Multi drug resistant E. Coli worldwide is definitely a bad development but there are a number of others that are cause for concern:

(a)  H1N1 -- may be splitting into two distinct strains making for an unpredictable and dangerous scenario

http://www.recombinomics.com/News/07221002/H1N1_Novel_Pandemic.html

India has reported a number of H1N1 deaths

http://www.recombinomics.com/News/07301001/H1N1_India_CFR.html

(b)  H5N1 is still popping out with Egypt reporting its 110th case with 35 fatalities (Pilikia pls note the clarification)

http://www.issapharma.org/blog,egypt-announces-110th-discovered-bird-flu-case,312336.html

(c)  Dengue, a dangerous virus, has been making a dramatic resurgence (in the states too)

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/health/fl-dengue-fever-miami-0803-20100802,0,5402616.story

(d)  MRSA is chugging along

This E.coli strain is not only in the US but in most so-called "developed" countries worldwide. It travels with people.

Large scale immigration from third world countries like we have in Europe does not help it either.

Quote:
The new strain, ST131, was a major cause of serious antimicrobial-resistant E. coli infections in the United States in 2007, researchers found. This strain has been reported in multiple countries and encountered all over the United States.
http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2010-07/idso-eec073010.php

Apparently it was around in hospitals in 2007 already. Not a new viral strain.
They can easily incubate in labs and spread it worldwide...

Chlorine Dioxide would help. username was nuna or something like that

now I did some research on this stuff, this stuff kills anthrax!!! thats right ANTHRAX so I would say a little bit of Ecoli would be easy as well.

I suggest you search it , its also called MMS or miracle mineral supplement. might be worth having it in your medicine cabinet

chlorine gas eh?  Please provide the link claiming this is useful against people who have been infected with anthrax.  Possibly it may sterilize surfaces but to work as a treatment? no way..

PINE OIL WILL SMOKE THIS BUG OUT...

The nuclear option in Homeopathic medicine is pine oil...

Quote
Pine oil is a phenolic disinfectant that is mildly antiseptic.[2]  Pine oil disinfectants are relatively inexpensive and widely available. They are effective against Brevibacterium ammoniagenes, candida albicans, enterobacteraerogenes, escherichia coli, gram-negative enteric bacteria, household germs, gram-negative household germs such as those causing salmonellosis, herpes simplex types 1 and 2, influenza type A, influenza virus type A/Brazil, influenza virus type A2/Japan, intestinal bacteria, klebsiella pneumoniae, odor-causing bacteria, mold, mildew, pseudomonas aeruginosa, salmonella choleraesuis, salmonella typhi, salmonella typhosa, serratia marcescens, shigella sonnei, staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus faecalis, streptococcus pyogenes, trichophyton mentagrophytes.[3]

It will kill the causative agents of typhoid, gastroenteritis (some agents), rabies, enteric fever, cholera, several forms of meningitis, whooping cough, gonorrhea and several types of dysentery.[4] It is also effective against several of the leading causes of food poisoning.[citation needed] It is not effective against spore related illneses such as tetanus or anthrax or against non-enveloped viruses such as poliovirus, rhinovirus, hepatitis B or hepatitis C.[4]

Pine oil has a relatively low human toxicity level, a low corrosion level and limited persistence; however, it irritates the skin and mucous membranes and has been known to cause breathing problems.[2] Large doses may cause central nervous system depression.[1]

POWERFUL NATURAL PINE NEEDLE TEA

I have treated severe gastrioenteritis (stomach flus) by simply taking pine needles pouring boiling water over them letting them seep for 10 minutes then drinking with honey and lemon tea.  It wasn't even very badly tasting...

Because it's such a broad sprectrum and highly powerful anti-septic you don't really have to fully understand what bug you are infected with...

And Now this!

A new superbug that is resistant to even the most powerful antibiotics has entered UK hospitals, experts warn.

They say bacteria that make an enzyme called NDM-1 have travelled back with NHS patients who went abroad to countries like India and Pakistan for treatments such as cosmetic surgery.

Although there have only been about 50 cases identified in the UK so far, scientists fear it will go global.

The longer the tea boils, the less Vitamin C will be available.
Add honey or some other sweetener that you like to help improve the taste, or just drink it as it is!
DO NOT consume this tea if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
It has been known to cause
the death of an unborn child within 24 hours!

(though no one is sure why as of yet--always consult your physician first.)

And, (no surprise), the NWO is promoting PINE NEEDLE TEA as a flu remedy.
You can't make this stuff up.

O Tamiflu: Turning Christmas trees into flu drug
Needles contain high concentration of key ingredient

ST. CATHARINES, Ontario (CNN) -- After the holiday is over, some Christmas trees end up in landfills, others get a second gig as garden mulch.

But soon thousands may end up as part of a lifesaving drug.

The needles of pine, spruce and fir trees contain a fairly high concentration of shikimic acid, the main ingredient in Tamiflu. Countries all over the world are stockpiling the drug in anticipation of a bird flu pandemic.

Most shikimic acid is obtained from star anise, a cooking spice from a tree grown in China. Prices of the spice skyrocketed when anxiety over a the possibility of a human outbreak of avian flu escalated.

A small Canadian company, Biolyse Pharma Corp., is now processing thousands of discarded trees to retrieve the acid.

"It's an urgent matter, and we should be starting production -- not once the pandemic hits, but before that," said chemist Brigitte Kiecken, Biolyse's CEO.

If Stevia caused spontaneous abortions, the FDA would allow it to be called a 'sweetener'.

Pine Needle Tea (or, the active ingredients in pine) can cause spontaneous abortions, so it gets "Thumbs up!" from CNN.

Thanks Pilikia!

It is obvious to me that something that causes death to embryos
MUST have bad effects on fully grown people...

Just because something is Natural,
does not mean it is good for us !

BTW, EVERYTHING tastes better with HONEY !

I have not tried this, but I do believe that SH*T would taste better with honey !

Taking this thread a little off topic... but this is important - the active ingredient in pine is the ingredient used in Tamiflu.
So what do 'doctors' recommend for pregnant women with Flu symptoms?

======================================

3. If you are diagnosed with the flu, get treatment:
http://www.marshfieldclinic.org/patients/Default.aspx?page=contenthubs-flu-preg

Treat any fever right away. Acetaminophen (Tylenol®) is the best treatment of fever in pregnancy.
Drink plenty of fluids to replace those you lose when you are sick.
Your doctor will decide if you need antiviral drugs such as Oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) or Zanamivir (Relenza®). These medicines can make you feel better faster and make your symptoms milder. Because of its systemic activity, oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) is preferred for treatment of pregnant women.
Oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) and Zanamivir (Relenza®) work best when started soon after symptoms begin (within two days), but they may also be given to very sick or high risk people (like pregnant women) even after 48 hours.

Oseltamivir (Tamiflu®) and Zanamivir (Relenza®) are taken for 10 days. There is little information about the effect of antiviral drugs in pregnant women or their babies, but no serious side effects have been reported. If you do think you have had a side effect to antiviral drugs, call your doctor right away.
